Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both hip and hopping, and now it is time for you to post until the hip-hopping cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SLITHY!
-
First?
At almost 7:30 in the morning?
FIRST??
-
First in war
First in peace
First to holler "I quit!"
That was Jubilation T. Cornpone, not me. I'm not that good.
But speaking of good,
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got a matinee today. Then a couple of days off.
-
Coffee!
-
Okay, it's eight now. And thirteen guests. But not a single how-de-do.
-
good morning to all
-
Good morning!
-
Free-for-all Day? But that would make it Sunday!
-
It can't be Sunday. If it is Sunday then we are half way done with the cruise.
-
And we would be one week away from Copenhagen!
-
Okay, I guess it is Sunday.
-
Where has the time gone?
-
Where have the posts gone.
-
Well, I guess it is only 8:30 a.m. on the East Coast and 5:30 a.m. on the West Coast
-
That would explain why it is so quiet around here.
-
It is almost lunch time here on the ship.
-
I will probably go for a hamburger and French fries. Or maybe potato salad instead of fries.
-
Tonight, Ken and I are going to the Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant. Similar to Benihana. This is a complimentary dinner for Ken from the casino.
-
It is usually thirty bucks a person.
-
The sun is coming out!!
-
Today.
-
How much do you have to have bet to get a free $30 dinner on the casino?
-
But at the same time, it is raining.
-
How much do you have to have bet to get a free $30 dinner on the casino?
More money than I would bet, but then I don't play card games.
-
Yes it is Sunday.
Fire The Girl! I would like to be there when she rolls her eyes and packs her backpack, if she even looks up from the telephone.
-
Rehearsal vibes for MR BK & both Companies!
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning, all!
-
!! 2 !!

Since I have upgraded my Mac to El Capitan, my screensaver has disappeared. I was up past midnight trying to fix this from googling. I'm biting the bullet and calling AppleCare today.
-
My cousin Sue Ellen and I have been psasing back and forth our journals of the year of my dad's death and burial. It's been most informative seeing her perspective on things.
She writes about a trip she, my dad, and I took to see my mother's brother Bob who was also on his way out, and then a trip to the cemetery to my my mother's grave. Her journal entry is how crabby and argumentative my dad was at Uncle Bob's home and how tense the whole day became. I didn't notice any of that in my account of the day.
-
DR TCB, that's good news about Sandy! Has your weather calmed down?
-
DR ChasSmith, is the ACT ONE music original or songs from the period?
-
DR George, I like your mantra. I wish I'd heard that forty years ago! About then I fired an actor from the cast of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. He wanted to go to Manhattan to audition for the failed 70s revival of HAIR, told me he'd return to Ohio on a certain date, had too much fun in New York, and came back several days after that. He was dead meat.
-
I did not do anything with the new DVD player yesterday, so I guess that's on today's agenda. I'm thinking I may do my summer furniture arrangement as well. I need to clear space around the air conditioner.
-
And more coffee!
-
DR ChasSmith, is the ACT ONE music original or songs from the period?
Original, by Louis Rosen -- I'll PM you the info -- but they also want to use three period songs: Second Hand Rose, When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, I'll Be Loving Always. I don't know if these are specified in the script or if this director is choosing them, but I'll be looking for copies of those.

DR Vixmom wrote:
last week when Vixdad and I were at Barnes and noble I started reading a book called "uprooted" by Naomi Novik
I was unwilling to shell out $16 for a paperback so I stopped by the library and was pleased to find a copy. I wonder if Jennifer has read it, I am enjoying it so far
Actually I've never even heard of this book.
-

I have never heard of a complimentary dinner from the casino.
-
How much do you have to have bet to get a free $30 dinner on the casino?
I know. Keith has never been gifted anything.
-
Enjoy the dinner.
-
It has become a very nice day out on deck.
-
I had, as predicted, a burger and potato salad.
-
I've opened the Blu-ray player and I'm already confused.

Thanks, Larry. I think I first came across it myself just a couple of years ago. I have to confess that I haven't always been the most punctual actor, but if I knew that I was going to be late, I would always at least call to let them know that.
-
I had, as predicted, a burger and potato salad.
While sitting out on the deck-nice.
Do they have veggie burgers? We were pleasantly surprised to find them on our recent cruise.
-
A friend sent us this entertaining clip for Passover.
http://www.aish.com/h/pes/mm/Passover-Funk.html?s=feat
I love the quality of the picture and the sound of music on my new computer.
-
Truer than ever!
-
My iMac screensaver appears to be up and running again, thanks to the AppleCare people!
My old region-free Blu-Ray DVD player has apparently learned it's been replaced and today, after battling it to retrieve a disc, it has died and gone to Toshiba heaven. I've asked my technical friend Heller to help me set up the new player and I'm waiting for him to give me a time. It's Passover, so I'm sure his schedule is limited, but I hope it's soon. I'd like to be sure this new one is working.

There appears to be nother Florence Foster Jenkins film in the works besides the oe starring Meryl Streep.

Well, I must now be off. I have a union meeting to go to, then I'm off to my parents' house. Have a good day, all!
Be back later!
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Fiesta is over in San Antonio. I may be able to get some sleep this week.
-
But first, the loquat chutney is on the stove, boiling down.
-
I am running behind in so many ways today it's not even funny.
-
But it's been fun.
-
Three!
-
I had, as predicted, a burger and potato salad.
While sitting out on the deck-nice.
Do they have veggie burgers? We were pleasantly surprised to find them on our recent cruise.
I honestly didn't notice. I will try to ask someone.
-
Page three? Really?
-
I'm up, I'm up - I slept until one, about ten hours. Then I had a call from Crista Moore and we gabbed for an hour. Now I need to get me some food and pick up a week's worth of whatever's at the mail place, then come back and write the damn commentary.

My iPad won't play that song.
-
Did you mean our favorite oldies now, or our favorite oldies during the 1960's and 1970's?
-
My listening tastes when I bought records ran more to the Boylan Sisters in ANNIE and The Andrews Sisters in OVER HERE.
-
I love the Boylan sisters.
-
At least as far as groups were concerned
-
Thanks, Fred, now I had to put the ANNIE OBC on.

Sunday evening greetings! We went to Lima today and arrived home with time to change clothes before going to DN Lauren's home for great-nephew J-dub's first birthday party. Lauren and her husband Jim did a great job hosting the Palmer side of their family, plus a few friends. Next Sunday they get to do it all over again with Jim's family.

No, we were the only ones that were comped.

They have four seatings, each for 12 people. The first seating is at 5:00 p.m. , followed by 6:30, 8:00, and finally at 9:30.
-
It was nice, this morning I slept in until 9:15.
-
Had some nachos for the meal - must say, not as good as the Coral Cafe - I ate half of them.

Keith wanted to see HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS. Even though I like Sally Field I wasn't expecting much. To my great pleasure I was wrong.
-
Good evening.
A nice long hike this morning, church, and then a local theater production. A nice day.

The loquat chutney has been bottled. It was not complicated but getting the ingredients ready and mixed together took about two hours. I took a taste and it was good, but I think it'll be better after a few days.

Nachos were had at Jerry's Deli.

TOD:
The Sixties:
The Who
The Beach Boys
The Temptations
The Supremes
The Seventies:
The Dead Kennedys
Gladys Knight and the Pips
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

But I probably sent more time listening to the Andrews Sisters, only not in Over, Here!
-
Let's move on.

Six!
-
Thunderstorms were supposed to have started a half-hour ago. Nothing yet. Wonder if they'll be rolling in later.
-
Writing commentary but now taking an hour break due to a headache.
-
I'm home from the union meeting, and dinner and Phase 10 playing at my parents' house.
-
We had hamburgers for dinner. Simple, but delish!
-
For dessert, we had a homemade German chocolate cake that my dad bought at a fundraiser at his church. THAT was really good!
-
We played Phase 10 and I actually won! It's the first time in quite a while that I've won.

For me, there are two groups...

...The Manhattan Transfer (of course), and...
-
...ABBA!
-
I love the Boylan sisters.
Among others, I played Fred McCracken and Wacky in a local production 22 years ago!

That second line didn't sink in, I guess.

But I will second George's choice of Manhattan Transfer ...

Last I heard, lovely George was on chapter six. That was a week ago. It's a VERY short book of ten chapters. One can only wonder. It would be ever so nice to have some more Amazon reviews.
