Well, you've read the notes, the notes were dressed and rehearsed, and now it is time for you to post until the dressed and rehearsed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LARRUPING!
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after TCB!
;D
-
Well, I need to go to bed. Good night, Tom!
-
Good morning to all
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am looking forward to this afternoon's dress of Do I Hear A Waltz?
-
The battery on my watch has died, so I need to take care of that before I head down to City Center.
-
I have vague memories of dreams, something terrifying about an old house and a neighbor telling me of seeing the ghosts of dead children there, another about recordings of Gigi and The Golden Apple.
-
I think I need another hour of sleep.
-
I know I do.
-
DR TCB, in response to your question last night, sometimes 😀
-
DR George, thanks for answering my question.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Must be on my way. I think breakfast is Waffle House this morn'.
-
DR Ginny - I'll be checking in this evening and we'll confirm meet time, etc., for tomorrow!
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD:
I shouldn't eat a lot of dried fruit because of the sugar, but I can't resist dried cherries, which are even better with almonds.
As for nuts, give me all of Jane's hazelnuts and I'll be happy.
-
I love love love dried peaches, apples, apricots, and cherries. My grandmother in Appalachia used to dry apple slices in sheets on the tin roof of her house and store them for the winter.
I once loved dried pineapple, but now i find it far too sweet.
-
Waltz vibes for DR ELMORE - we of course expect a full report.
Dress Rehearsal Vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
I like almonds and walnuts...sometimes together.
-
Well...last night our rehearsal schedule called for us to do the first 37 pages - in which I have ONE scene.....
But the director just kept going....of course no one had really reviewed anything past what was scheduled, so it was a sad night.
We even got to the scene with my SONG! I had not worked on it, planned to do it today since it is scheduled for tonight.....so that was sad, too.
Tonight we will START with that scene!
AND I have choreographed FIVE FOR ALL FOREVER.....at least on paper....so we shall see what we shall see on Wednesday night.
-
I need to leave in about 30 minutes for a jeweler on 86th and Broadway, One of my Mickeys needs a new watchband and the other needs a new battery.
-
TOD:
I love prunes! Dried pineapple is also very good and since I have a dehydrator I can make my own. I also like dried apricots, apples, figs and mangos. Pears are my least favorite dried fruit.
My favorite nuts are cashews and almonds. Pecans are very nice too.
-
Mickey Vibes for DR ELMORE!
-
I am home with apples, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, avocados, and two happy Mickeys, The damned 104 bus driver saw me hobbling with my cane to get to the bus before he pulled out, closed the doors in my face and drove off. What is it with some of these asshole drivers?
-
Power trip.....
-
Good Morning
-
TOD: Dried fruit is too sweet these days, but I always get a package of almonds in the morning at Starbucks for my morning snack. I like peanuts, also. Not a fan of walnuts, though.
-
DR Larry - so excited that you are involved with Do I Hear a Waltz? - I love the score and love that the piece takes place in Italy. I hope all goes well.
-
Page Two Dance....
A waltz of course. Do you hear it?
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! I was out early this morning to meet Becky for our last breakfast before she and her husband head to Michigan for several weeks. We sat out one rainstorm at Starbucks and I'm home before the next one moves in.
-
DR Ginny - I'll be checking in this evening and we'll confirm meet time, etc., for tomorrow!
DR ChasSmith, I will be unavailable most of this evening because we'll be at Music Hall for Mary Chapin Carpenter's concert. But if you text or leave a voicemail, I'll respond when I can. We're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

I look forward to today's rehearsal, and i am heading out now.
-
DR Matthew, I do not think of HHW as a clique. I see it as a fantastic party, hosted by BK, and attended by some wonderful friends and a few who aren't.
-
TOD:
I shouldn't eat a lot of dried fruit because of the sugar, but I can't resist dried cherries, which are even better with almonds.
As for nuts, give me all of Jane's hazelnuts and I'll be happy.
On our cruise I had to be extra careful as they had mixed nuts which included Brazil nuts. You could have also had those.
-
Since we were in Brazil I watched for them. My reaction could possibly be far worse with those than with hazelnuts which I have built up some immunity to over the years of accidentally eating them.
-
I enjoy dried cherries, with added sugar. The ones without are a bit tart. Keith eats them
-
Dried apricots, plums, and dates are delicious.
-
In Michigan I used to go to a candy story and buy chocolate covered dried strawberries-oh my were they good.

I certainly don't mind the hazelnuts, either! I also enjoy almonds, walnuts (especially in chocolate chip cookies ;) ), pecans, peanuts, but mostly cashews.
-
I once loved dried pineapple, but now i find it far too sweet.
I have not reached that point, yet. I still love it.

TOD - Dried cherries from Michigan, almonds, pecans, and cashews are my favorites. Not fond of walnuts, Brazil nuts, or hazelnuts.
-
Michigan has the best dried cherries, and these are the best in Michigan.

The new office is nice. It's very open and I'll be able to work at a standing desk, like I do now. The work itself will be more involved, but I feel good about starting it.
-
Good morning. Well, it is still morning here.

Here, as well!

I was just thinking of a good idea for a new book:
"David Copperfield -- Redux"
Chapter 1
"I am born....again".

Careful, someone might like your idea and write the book.

Your new office sounds nice DR JOHN G.

Brazil......where the nuts come from.
-
Well, what're we waiting for??
-
COMPLETELY RANDOM PAGE THREE DANCE!!

(Post adjusted.)
-
DR John do you have a stool to sit on if you get tired of standing?
-
At my current desk, I can just lower it.
-
Glad to see some Cole Porter on the 2017 Encores season, which includes The New Yorkers, Big River and The Golden Apple. Hope the New Yorkers' score gets a recording.
-
Back from something called a Mexican bowl for lunch and shall shortly be on my way to gather up Lanny and go to LACC to hopefully work some light cues and projections prior to our dress rehearsal.
-
MR BK is back and I am off - to rehearsal.....
-
This afternoon at City Center was one weird event. The rehearsal went well, but for reasons I cannot print here, I felt I was as welcome as a case of crab or herpes. I've never felt that before, but today I felt the old boys' club was deliberately shutting me out. I also realized that a person I once considered a friend is someone I really do not like much at all.
On the positive side, I think the production will be a fine one. the cast is very good, the score is good, the orchestra is excellent, although the script is not my cup of tea and i really don't like the characters much at all.
It was also good to see my friend Bruce Pomahac.
-
I'm sorry you felt that way, Elmore. I hate it when that happens to me.
-
I'm sorry you felt that way, Elmore. I hate it when that happens to me.
It was weird, and I hate it when I feel looked down or deliberately snubbed by people who know less about something than I do. Sometimes my opinions might be beneficial.
-
And in another case of my not being able to tell what I know, the recording is finally being released!

Strange day at work. Odds and ends.
Nothing constructive, nothing destructive.
Just blah.

Were you involved with the recording ... or the music that was recorded?

I worked on both the Encores! production and the recording.

I went to Amazon to add this to my wishlist, and in the saved for later section in my cart was the supposed DVD for "Lucky Stiff." It's been "not yet available" since last year...but now it has an actual release date! June 21, 2016 (http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0141JJKAQ/)! It's only been available as a digital download (which I was literally just about to buy with my Amazon $50 birthday gift card), but now the physical DVD is FINALLY going to be released! I've read that it's not great...it only has a 40% critics rating on rottentomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/lucky_stiff_2015/), but I don't care. I want this. :D
-
At my current desk, I can just lower it.
Will it be the same or did you ask for a different style for your new desk?
-
I'm sorry you felt that way, Elmore. I hate it when that happens to me.
Ditto & ditto!
-
Yesterday & today I couldn't sign into my library account because my PIN was changed without telling me. It wasn't just me, they changed the way the numbers for everyone.
-
After talking to the library & finding out why I couldn't sign in, and what the new numbers were, I went back online and changed the numbers to something easier for me.
-
I then tried to sign in to find out if the new PINs work only to find that I can't even get the far in the process. Every time I click on "sign in" it eventually times out.
-

Yikes! :o
-
Do you have an "I forgot my PIN" link?
-
Yes, though if it didn't change I know the old one, that they gave me and should be able to use it. I can't get that far. I hope it is a temporary problem, though it seems to have lasted all afternoon.
-
Really odd is that I can go to MyeBook Library website and do all sorts of things, just not open the "sign in" page.
-
Back from my bike ride. Will shower and head south to San Jose (good thing I know the way) to see the National Tour of Newsies -- I really have no interest, but it's part of my season and I might as well find out what's up with this craze.
-
A town in Italy will be using noiseless fireworks to be kind to the animals. (http://travel.excite.co.uk/town-in-italy-starts-using-silent-fireworks-as-a-way-of-respecting-their-animals-N52632.html)

I got in briefly, just long enough to check one of our accounts.

Nice!

Whew!
-
Wait...but were you kicked out again?
-
I got in briefly, just long enough to check one of our accounts.
Whew!
Yes, but the other one didn't work and I don't remember which one I need to try again-lol
-
But, yes I am relieved that I should eventually get in again.
-
Wait...but were you kicked out again?
Not exactly kicked out. I signed out to sign back in on the other account and "sign in" isn't loading again.
-
DR Ginny - I'll be checking in this evening and we'll confirm meet time, etc., for tomorrow!
DR ChasSmith, I will be unavailable most of this evening because we'll be at Music Hall for Mary Chapin Carpenter's concert. But if you text or leave a voicemail, I'll respond when I can. We're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
Your and DH Richard's suggestion of O'Charley's at I-75 and 122 would work perfectly for me. What say we do that? How does 12:30 pm sound?
I'll be logging in here later and briefly in the morning. If you haven't been on by then I'll TXT you tomorrow. Looking forward to it!
-
And how about these crazy rainstorms? Be careful getting to and from Music Hall!
I must say the smell and feel of the clean fresh air is beautiful. This kind of thing can be so nice in the midwest.
Enjoy the concert!
-
DR Elmore, I am sorry to hear about such nonsense going on.
-
Wait...but were you kicked out again?
Not exactly kicked out. I signed out to sign back in on the other account and "sign in" isn't loading again.
That's frustrating. :P
-
Yup, and I still can't get in again.
-
I have two books to download too. At least I don't want to read them yet.
-
Well, I'm leaving work now. There was supposed to be a TAO board meeting tonight, but our president can't make it, and our secretary has strep throat, so we cancelled. We'll meet next week.
-
Yup, and I still can't get in again.
Good luck! Hopefully, it'll resolve itself quickly.
-
And now, I'm going to go home, eat, do some laundry, and watch some TV (not necessarily in that order). :D
Until later.
-
Yup, and I still can't get in again.
Good luck! Hopefully, it'll resolve itself quickly.
Thank you.
-
Has anyone been to Athens?
-
At my current desk, I can just lower it.
Will it be the same or did you ask for a different style for your new desk?
Actually, I think there are workstations that are up and others that are normal at the new office. At the current office, all of the desks in the area have the option of raising or lowering.
-

I have. Spent about four days there before going to Rhodes.
-
Back from my bike ride. Will shower and head south to San Jose (good thing I know the way) to see the National Tour of Newsies -- I really have no interest, but it's part of my season and I might as well find out what's up with this craze.
I thought the stage version was better than the movie.
-
Yesterday my boss kindly allowed me to borrow his pickup truck for a few hours so the Vixter and I could move a couple of pieces of furniture
-
We found two Thomasville wall units for $30 a piece but with a 30% off coupon she paid less that $45 for the pair.
-
Tonight I was working late to get things done because I am taking tomorrow off
-
That was nice of your boss, Vixmom. Make a note of it.
-
In case you need it for later.
-
The Vixter , Vixnana and I are going to Sight & Sound in Lancaster PA with the church
-
We have to be at the church by 7 am

DR ChasSmith, 12:30 is great for us! When you exit I-75, turn left onto 122 and cross under the highway. You'll see O'Charley's on the right, but have to go to the first light, turn right twice, and make your way back to it.

Just got a call that Dad was sent to the ER tonight after falling into a diabetic coma. I don't know what his condition is, but I would appreciate those vibes and prayers.
-

I must say the smell and feel of the clean fresh air is beautiful. This kind of thing can be so nice in the midwest.
Enjoy the concert!
Sorry it's been so rainy for your visit. Richard also commented on how fresh the air smells. Our trip to Music Hall was dry and, on the way home, the heavy rain waited until we were off the interstate and in Middletown with no traffic. I don't think there's as much rain in tomorrow's forecast.
-
Vibes & prayers for DR John G's father!
-
DR Elmore, I am sorry to hear about such nonsense going on.
I am, too.
-
Thank you, Ginny. I'm on hold, waiting for some response.
-
And no answer. Not the response I wanted.
-
Vibes, DR John G.

Just got a call that Dad was sent to the ER tonight after falling into a diabetic coma. I don't know what his condition is, but I would appreciate those vibes and prayers.
Super Vibes and best wishes!
-
It wasn't a coma. It was more likely high blood sugar and an infection mixed together. He has an extended gall bladder and an extended bladder. What they're going to do with either has yet to be said.
I spoke with him on the phone. He was lucid, funny in his dry Southern way. His fever is down this evening, which is good. They're keeping him overnight.
Both my mom and dad have charmed the staff.
-
It's late and I'm not going to get much sleep as is, but I have to try. So, good night, all.
-
Good evening!
-
Vibes and prayers for DR John's father!!
-
At least we are on page five.
-
Which is better than page four.
-
But not nearly as good as page six.
-
It was a beautiful day here in Tacoma today.
-
Tomorrow we are supposed to reach 80 degrees.
-
It is a little early for such nice weather.
-
Usually May is just a continuation of April showers.
-
So I don't know what kind of summer we are going to have around here.
-
But I think I had better get the air conditioner ready for a hot couple of months.
-
I am thinking that maybe I need a second A/C for the living room.
-
I can't spend all my time in the bedroom.
-
At least, not all alone.
-
Nicky hates the sound of the air conditioner.
-
He prefers to sleep in the other bedroom rather than listen to the sound the A/C makes.
-
Speaking of Nicky, I think his electric litter box has bitten the dust.
-
I really don't feel like buying a new one, but I don't want to go back to scooping the box twice or three times a day.
-
I think Nick needs to get a job and pay for a new one himself.
-
But I am not sure what kind of job he could get.
-
He doesn't really have any necessary skills.
-
And I would have to take him to work and pick him up, so..........

Six!

It was a beautiful day here in Tacoma today.
Same here.
-
HI, Jane!
-
Has anyone been to Athens?
Georgia or Greece?
-
When my dad was in the army and stationed in Germany the first time (in the early '60s), he was able to go to Greece (I don't know if he went to Athens). He was able to go to places that are now off limits to tourists.
-
Hello, George!
-
Just got a call that Dad was sent to the ER tonight after falling into a diabetic coma. I don't know what his condition is, but I would appreciate those vibes and prayers.
~~~Vibes for John G's Father!!~~~
Hello, George!
Hello, Tom!
Back from our second dress rehearsal. More in the notes.
I liked it - alert the papers!
Time to switch computers.
And I'm back.
Someone I know just "shared" the devastating news that Lena Horne died at 92. What is it about Facebook that turns people into utter morons, including my friends? And then they never come back and own up to their stupidity. Oh, and Ms. Horne died in 2010.
-
I just read on Facebook that Abe Lincoln has been shot.
