From last night, if you have ever worked on a play, either onstage or back stage; you might enjoy GHOST LIGHT.

But don 't watch it expecting a real horror film.  It has more to do with THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, than it does with ghosts.

I read a couple of the negative reviews where that was the reason for the negative review.

DR George, I did not orchestrate The Golden Apple, just edited the vocal score and did some cleanup work on the original Jerome Moross-Hershy Kay orchestrations to get the 1977 changes Moross demanded into the original parts. It's mostly Hershy's orchestration since Moross was rewriting the entire final scene for Broadway.

Grease was rather uneventful - boring actually.  But I had fun playing it again.  Once was definitely enough - not sure I could have played a whole run.  Actually, I get really bored playing long runs, and sometimes even short runs.  I guess I'm getting old.

I'm guessing, if there was a chance the show would be renewed, dropping her cinched it.  We really should have stopped watching when they botched the wedding episode with Castle's disappearance.

I was sorry too.  It doesn't help the show when people leak that stuff.  Truly, the scripts on the whole just weren't very good.  It was too easy to guess who did it based on previous formats.

Listening to a set of Sun Records music recorded by Sam Phillips. Great stuff, and most of it is new to me. But I did love the inclusion of Roy Orbison singing "Ooby Dooby." Obscure Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and, of course, Elvis along with B.B. King, Charlie Rich, Howlin' Wolf, John Prine and so many other articles who came through that studio.

I loved visiting it when i was in Memphis.

TOD:

I love all the mentions of Harper Valley PTA. And, yes, George, I loved the movie, too.

My top choices are two Cole Porter ditties:

The Tale of the Oyster
Miss Otis Regrets

Tomorrow is the memorial service for my friend, Barbara, with whom I used to work at the newspaper. She would bake cakes for everyone's birthday, so someone had the nice idea that we should make cakes for after the service.

I just took my German chocolate pound cake out of the oven.

It's make with a cake mix and the pecan-coconut frosting is baked into the cake.

It's apparently a Texas thing, like the original German chocolate cake.

Dad seems to have enjoyed his first day at home, though he's a little confused about his medicine. I think Mom's going to have to take that over until the home health nurse starts. And I don't know when that is.

87-year-old musician, who had been with an orchestra since her teens, died while the orchestra was performing "There's No Business Like Show Business." That's going out with style.

Barbra's touring!  9 cities, 10 concerts:

Sure, she could come to Washington DC for you, but you couldn't talk her into coming to Seattle!

Is anyone still watching CASTLE?  We wonder why we are still watching, so it is not with regret that I say tonight will be the last episode.

I'm still watching, but I haven't seen the last couple of episodes.  I'm kind of glad that it's ending now, and not continuing without Beckett.  I can't believe that her contract wasn't renewed if they went into one more season! >:(

They should never have cancelled FIREFLY.

Sometimes parents need to be told like it is.  I used to care what they thought, now I could care less.  I've been teaching long before their children were even born, I kinda know how to do things.   So, in this case, they are on their own!

And that's all I'll say about THAT.
