Well, you've read the notes, the notes were curious and quintupled in the night, and now it is time for you to post until the quintupled cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GORMLESS!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Jeanne!! :D
-
And now, to bed. 8)

good morning to all

Happy Birthday to DR Jeanne!!

Happy happy birthday to dear Jeanne!!!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happiest of birthdays to dear Jeanne! Wishing you a wonderful day !!
-
Had a very nice sleep, at long last. I woke a few times during the night by the sounds of steady rain and cool breezes, and it was just perfect. Wish we could have nights like that more than once or twice a year.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have very little on today's agenda.
-
Crazy, classic dreams, though. I outdid myself again. Being almost late to see a performance of [something] and getting lost trying to find our seats, winding up under the stage where you had to walk through waist-deep water and where they were setting out very fancy platters of incredible foods for the reception afterward.
I'll have to blame vixmom's wedding reception for that last part.
-
A very happy birthday to our one and only DR JEANNE!
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday, DR Jeanne !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I dreamed something about The Golden Apple and the Moross Collection at Columbia, then got caught up in all the megilla of my collection at Miami University/
-
Got the final spring concert at the high school (where, sadly, there will probably once again be no murder) tonight.
-
My Loesser colleague Jason is coming by this morning to run through the overture with me ad make the adjustments. I will point out the spots where i have some hatmony concerns.
-
I need a lottery win. I am no longer in the awful financial crunch of 2014, thank God, but I want to get back yo recording my bucket list of shows before I get too feeble or drop dead.
-
It's intriguing, and almost a little thrilling, to think that a top shelf Loesser overture could hold one or more harmony concerns for the likes of a DR Elmore.

Happy Birthday, Jeanne!

I have GARDEN OF EVIL in a 3 disc DVD set that also includes THE GUNFIGHTER and RAWHIDE.
GARDEN OF EVIL is not in the same league as those other films. The stars are wonderful and the scenery is beautiful, but the story is dull.

Steve Martin and Carmen Cusack were just on CBS This Morning to publicize BRIGHT STAR. I am really hoping she wins the Tony for Best actress in a Musical. It's an amazing performance.

Happiest of birthdays and banking vibes for DR JEANNE!

Feeling better vibes for MR BK.
Lottery vibes for DR ELMORE.

We did only Act One last night, since we didn't get started until 7:45 because of technical issues.

Good morning.

Lottery vibes for DR ELMORE.
LOL, DR JRand65! I just checked my tickets and won $13.00. Wish it were $13 million!

I don't get heartburn from eating spicy food. I get heartburn from eating too much fat, and especially fat with sugar. I've gotten heartburn from some really greasy onion rings, and whenever I would get one of those ooey gooey brownies they sell in the lobby at the intermission of whatever musical we're seeing, that would always give me heartburn too.

The only food that gives me heartburn every time I eat it is chili, but not the Cincinnati style. So, I try not to eat it but once a year or so.

Got a ticket to see Savion Glover this Saturday. Really looking forward to that show. Jazz great Jack DeJohnette is performing with him.

Good morning.
-
BK, I don't think you are supposed to take both drugs at the same time. The one I recommended is for occasional use; the other one is taken daily for two weeks.
-
Happy Birthday, Jeanne!
-
You take it daily on an empty stomach for two weeks. It should help right away. During the two weeks, your esophagus will heal. But you really need to cut out the foods that cause heartburn or it will come right back.
-
A sample list of those foods:
alcohol, particularly red wine.
black pepper, garlic, raw onions, and other spicy foods.
chocolate.
citrus fruits and products, such as oranges and orange juice.
coffee and caffeinated drinks, including tea and soda.
peppermint.
tomatoes.
-
It's a start DR ELMORE.
-
See's chocolate doesn't bother me. Nestle and Hershey are terrible.
Dark chocolate is better than milk.
Fortunately white wine doesn't bother me. I never could drink red wine. Not only don't I like it but it gives me a headache.

Tuesday afternoon greetings!
Where is everyone today?
I spent several hours downtown at Art Central Foundation, where they teach summer art classes to elementary students. My friend Margie developed and maintains a nice lending library, but she broke her leg last month and won't be able to get up and down the steep and not-so-narrow stairway. Today I was inputting newly-acquired donations to her database and helping Cathy with clean-up. I'm also lining up people to meet with the classes to explain how the library works, but I don't do big groups of kids. That's what our retired teacher friends are for!
DR Elmore, this is on the second floor of the old Masonic building on Main Street.

Then you are lucky you don't have a problem. As much as I love chocolate I would give it up to get off of the meds but I need to eat healthy foods I couldn't eat without taking the meds.

I took the Nexium at around seven last night. So, I'll do that again tonight. I also took at some point the Pepcid tablet. Whatever they did worked - I slept ten hours and had not a trace of heartburn or reflux.

And I'm up. I've been up since eleven-thirty.

I tried to call Joshie with a Finale question and he's not on the office. What to do?

That's great. If you tend to reflux more at night than taking it at night instead of in the morning makes sense.
You are elevating your bed-right? It should be elevated from under the mattress, not just using extra pillows.
-
Thanks for the Barbara Cook CD link, DR George!
-
Barbara Cook has a book coming out very soon.
For those in the NYC area, would it be possible for anyone to find out if she is doing a signing and at what outlets?
I'd gladly call an outlet and buy an autographed copy.
-
Thanks for the Barbara Cook CD link, DR George!
My pleasure! It's a fun CD. They're poems by Dorothy Parker, set to music by Seymour Barak, so they aren't specifically songs with lyrics by Parker.
-
Page four? Really?
-
I wrote two-thirds of the commentary - I was really concerned that this commentary would be really hard to keep interesting or even write, since several of the songs don't have much written about them or their history, but I've found some very amusing stuff and am having a good deal of fun.
-
Happy Birthday, DR Jeanne!!
-
BK, read the directions. I'm pretty sure the Nexium is to be taken on an empty stomach in the morning, one each day for two weeks.
-
DR Laura, that is true. If you research it there is a theory it is better in the evening for people who only suffer then. Bruce, you should really explore the reasons why not to take it at night.

I enjoyed it. It's more of a song cycle than a regular album, and it's only about 45 minutes long, but she sounds really good. I didn't pay as much attention to the lyrics as the music, but I've only listened to it once. There will be repeated listenings.

The answer is "Yes" I think so.

An interesting turn of events.

I guess you will tell us if you buy it.

Read directions? Hmmm. Then I'll wait to take the next Nexium until morning.

Finished with my viewing.
-
Sad to read about Beth Howland's passing - she actually died on New Year's Eve but asked her hubby, Charles Kimbrough, not to make it public for some time. Weird, but that's what she wanted. I adored her. I saw her in Company and loved her, met her when I did Alice and we just really hit it off - we actually had one date soon after we finished taping.

If you don'the really eat during the day and eat your main meal at night, and have most of your symptoms at night....take it half an hour to an hour before you eat.
This is from Keith who has researched this extensively.
You also should not eat 3 hour prior to going to bed.

Today was the Washington Primary. Hillary Clinton won the primary by a wide margin.
Except that the Washington state primary is actually completely irrelevant. It's only the caucus results that will be used. According to this Presidential Primary FAQ (http://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/2016-presidential-primary.aspx#q2):
"The Republican Party will use the Presidential Primary results to allocate 100% of their convention delegates. The Democratic Party will not use the Primary Election results to allocate any of their delegates. They will rely solely on the results of their Precinct Caucuses on March 26th."

It seems like we just celebrated New Years.

We are going to the Loose Wheel. It is a sports bar on Sixth Avenue. They have some great (huge) burgers, plus pizza, sandwiches, and a taco salad that weighs a ton.

It is pretty good. One of our members doesn't like it because he finds the service a little too "casual." It's a bar, not a fine dining establishment.
