Title: THE TALE OF THE LOBSTER TAIL
Post by: bk on May 31, 2016, 12:04:58 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes told the tale of a tail, and now it is time for you to post until the tale of the tail of the cows come home.

To answer TCB's question from last night:  no, the WCPA did not ask me.  It was all very quick.  The newspaper person was at an event and just asked some random volunteers to fill out some questions.  I wasn't at the right place at the right time. :-\

So what's in store for the week?

Well, the housemates are off to sunny Florida.  I've got two (count'em) checkups -- dental and optometrist, a school jazz concert to attend, a couple of local productions to get to over the weekend, some outdoors work to get done, at some point a run-through of ACT ONE to sit in on, and my own work on that to have prepared for tech week next week.  I also have to ask the furnace and a/c people when they're coming out to do the annual maintenance because the blower is making more noise than usual.

Today in particular I'll be spending some quality time with my DVR'ed ACT ONE, which I don't seem to tire of.  I really like the play, and Tony Shalhoub, Andrea Martin, and DR Elmore's close personal friend Santino Fontana are a collective delight.

We were sitting in the park when there was a tremulous loud clap of thunder and lighting about 1/4 mile away.  Since the storm was moving towards us we scurried out of the park.  Eventually we stopped u Der an archway to wait out the storm.  Slowly our little spa ed filled up with people, and the a carriage pulled by horses stopped.

Newspaper and production photos last night.  The director staged the bows, which he thinks should all take place in less that 60 seconds....weird.  I don't like long bows either, but this doesn't give the audience time to applaud.....hardly.

He also has us leaving the stage....our tradition for 55 years has been that the cast stays onstage and talks to the audience afterwards....I am sure they will be bewildered and confused by this turn of events.

Oh well....it might be just as well that we escape them.  The production is okay.....the show is just terrible.

I do prefer shellfish over fish with scales. I love cracked crab. It's nice dipped in butter, but it doesn't need it. Mark and I used to be able to get king crab at the grocery store for only $9.99 a pound ten years ago, but no longer. Even Costco sells it for double that. The best thing you can do is find a buffet that has it, and eat as much as you can. :-)

At work.

So much to get done.

All of it relatively simple, but with many "steps" involved.

Vacuuming finished, so I guess I'm off to the Moross score.  It's looking good, but this pass I'm checking all the lyrics as well as the note and other visual problems from the last round.  This will be the final one.

I also need to go to market.  I had planned on doing that on my way back from the doctor.

Back from the DMV where I dropped off "someone's" papers showing their boat mistakenly registered to me.

(We all knew it wasn't going to be over just by my sending back that little note several weeks ago.  Right?  Of course right.)

I think I'm extricated from the confusion, but time will of course tell.  After dealing with the usual surly front line, a rather nice woman manager type found the problem.  My birth date was one number off from the boat owner's (who is apparently a Charles Smith, imagine that) and even though he'd actually paid the registration renewal, the paperwork itself kept coming to me.  Oy.

Elmore, I listened to the Jay recording of Kiss Me, Kate today (well, most of it because the power outage happened before the last two songs). I see your name in the acknowledgments. What's your opinion of it?

I love your overture to Jubilee and the orchestra, but I'm not thrilled with the women singers on the recording. Neither the Lili nor the Lois is very good. They sound like Brits trying too hard to sound like Americans.

And on that note (C#), I'm done with work and am leaving.  I have this nagging feeling that I'm supposed to get something at either Costco or Fred Meyer (they're right next to each other here in Tumwater), but I can't for the life of me think of what it could be.  I have no plans, so maybe I'll just go there and see if anything pops into my head.

Until later. :)

Had a mostly fun rehearsal - one gal who's new to us came in with a lovely cold, which drives me crazy. I'm fighting so hard not to get sick this year, and every time I turn around someone with a cold of the flu is standing next to me.  I took more Sambucol and will load up on Airborne, too.

~~~Stay Healthy Vibes for BK and Cast!!~~~
Another load of vibes.
There was no reason for me to laugh as much as I did during Spy, but I enjoyed it. It's a mess of a movie, but everyone seemed to be having fun.
I'd make a special trip to your state just to sit in a chair that made ME feel skinny!!!
Your welcome anytime.
Yes, I was corrected when I called it a coffee table.  It is now known as a "cocktail" table.
When I used to deliver furniture, a cocktail table was the taller table behind the sofa.  That is now a sofa table.
Jane, I just discovered that MIRANDA is available on Acorn TV. No commercials. Be careful about eating or drinking anything while you watch it. It can be really funny.
You're able to stream video now, right?
(I mean at home, of course.)
Thanks.  We can stream but aren'the paying for Acorn-will he to do so now.
And on that note (C#), I'm done with work and am leaving.  I have this nagging feeling that I'm supposed to get something at either Costco or Fred Meyer (they're right next to each other here in Tumwater), but I can't for the life of me think of what it could be.  I have no plans, so maybe I'll just go there and see if anything pops into my head.
Until later. :)
Well, I went to Costco and still couldn't remember what I wanted, so I impulse shopped.  I bought Star Trek: The Original Series - The Complete Series (http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B013Q1BVIE/), some individual serving sized fresh mozzerella, veggie sausage patties, and powdered peanut butter.
