I ask, since my bank has apparently lost the $450 check I deposited yesterday, my bank account is now $7.95, and I have two checks outstanding.

Color me livid.

Thanks!  I luckily have the deposit slip in my possession, so that is something positive. but the aggravation at the moment is on a high level.  To add further frustration, my colleague and i are still waiting on our first payment for the "Guys & Dolls" project.

Little Women re-opens tonight.  We are sold out Thursday and Friday with just a few seats left for tonight and Saturday.  Our theatre seats 198 folks, so we are making some money, and making some people happy.

For some reason there are a lot of NEW people attending our theatre for the first time to see this show....

You're doing better than we are, DR Ginny.  We're still getting only one or two nice days among too many chilly or wet ones.  Again, that's a typical June in Connecticut.  And I'm learning to better appreciate the more consistent parts of the country!

At 10:30 I stopped at my bank.  They had the check, which mysteriously had resulted in a deposit slip but was not posted to my account.  it was re-deposited and it is now showing up on my online account.

They will cover any charges incurred, they say, but I'm holding onto all records from today and yesterday.  Just in case.

I've been getting up at 4 a.m. every day to be at the trailhead at 5 a.m. when they unlock the gate. It is hot. But it will be worse when monsoon starts and it is humid as well.

I started doing this to lose weight. I haven't lost anything. It seems I need to hike three hours daily just to maintain. That's not right.

Sad day.

One of my co-workers' went to India this past weekend to spend time with her dying mother.  Her mother died this morning.

Another co-worker's wife had an operation a couple of weeks ago.  Some therapy was going to be needed and she was set to be moved to a rehab center last Friday, but something wasn't quite right.  The doctors decided they needed to operate again.  The wife went into a coma.  The family will decide this week whether to remove life support based upon what her doctors say.

Very sad.  Very troubling.

Tonight is the final dress rehearsal without an audience for TAO's "The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) (https://olytheater.com/season14/the-bible-the-complete-word-of-god-abridged-by-adam-long-reed-martin-austin-tichenor/)."  The actresses got through it all last night in about two hours (not including intermission), but it'll tighten up as the weekend progresses.  Tomorrow is our invited $5 preview, and then we open on Friday!

It started, I guess, with my picking my friend up at the airport all too late. While waiting, I saw this woman get in the car in front of me, and she looked liked a twin of one woman at the dance studio. Turns out that's exactly who it was.

Anyway, I got Bonnie to her house and then got home by 1 a.m. I was back up at 6:30. I had to get to the office by 8 for a meeting. Thankfully school's out, so the traffic was lighter than usual. I made it with one minute to spare.

I'm now trying to watch the rst of Luchino Visconti's Senso, which I started last night.

It's often like an opera, with Valli (from "The Third Man") overacting deliciously and at times just a study in desperation. Farley Granger wears tight pants. He's not required to do much else. He fits the role. (Pun intended.)

I've really flipped for this score. I find myself singing snippets from various songs through the day.

I finally finished First Daughter Suite. Great music but the story is just too sad too often. The bickering between Nancy Reagan and Patti Davis is particularly ugly, but then again, that's sort of to be expected. Mary Testa offers a more sympathetic Barbara Bush than the woman has come off in interviews or in stories about her and her daughters-in-law.

Senso's English version has a screenplay by the rather unlikely writing duo of Tennessee Williams and Paul Bowles. I'm going to have to watch it just for the florid dialogue.

I'm quite convinced that rum sauce is a health food on somebody's diet.

After freezing my ASS off for four hours at an outdoor dress rehearsal, I'm sipping a little brandy, and those pancakes would go just fine with it.

So anyway, tomorrow night we have a preview audience of...

    Nuns!     :)

And I'm told they're a great audience.  I'm looking forward to it.

Very good news, Larry!  Too bad that all had to happen. :P

Well, I managed to get through the day with $4.00 in my pocket, and tomorrow there will be money! And on Friday, I get the first G&D payment, so things have turned around today.

Hopefully, I will have more good news tomorrow night.

I have never seen God Damn separated by a "&."

Publicity for La Cage:

"Barrett plays Georges, owner of the nightclub, and Smith plays Albin, the star drag queen performer."

Gee, you wouldn't guess that they even knew each other; let alone that they were lovers.

It was okay, because Sandy was so worn out after the tests and chemo yesterday that he was too tired for lunch.
