Well, you've read the notes, the notes had an announcement, and now it is time for you to post until the announced cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MERETRICIOUS!
-
Last night, TCB asked me, "George, could you record a show if it was just showing on your computer?"
I have a program that can capture some streaming video files, but it can't capture protected (usually meaning, paid for) files. I do have another program that's supposed to be able to just record everything that's on the screen, but since I still only have Windows XP, it doesn't really work. Maybe when I get a new computer, it will.

Thanks, George. I am pretty dumb when it comes to computer things.

I only learned about it from my sister's boyfriend. He installed the program on my computer and taught me how to use it.

When I bought my first computer back in 1994, I jumped right in with both feet. But the older I get, the tougher it is to learn new things AND to remember the old things.
-
I wonder who our 1 Guest might be.

I know. :-\
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I gotta tell you.
Please do.
-
There are 18 Guests on this site tonight.
-
Why am I still up?
-
Why are we still on page one?
-
Page one? Really?
-
Since you insist.
-
Well, I hate to do it, but I must go to sleep now. I want to go to work early because I have several errands to run either during my lunch time or after work before tonight's show...and my tablet's battery is almost dead.
Good night, TCB and BK. 8)
-
Goodness we are a quiet group.
-
I am rarely at a loss for words.
-
But my mind is a complete blank.
-
It could have something to do with the hour of the morning.
-
Or the fact that I am not feeling very well.
-
Oh. Good night, George.
-
And, I guess, good night BK.
-
And there are no Guests to say good night.
-
Although there are 21 Guests in other areas.

Just one more post to go.

-
And now, good night.
-
First post on the East coast!
-
good morning to all
-
Good morning I fell asleep over the iPad waking only when Vixdad removed it from my hands. So off to bed went I
-
And now off to work go I
-
Have a lovely day all
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had a solid sleep, with one bizarre dream I could have done without
-
Looking forward to hearing that entire CD through the Big Speakers.
BK - For those in both Indiegogos, this will come off just the L.A. one, right?
-
More coffee!
-
Feel better vibes for DR TCB!
-
Good morning, all!
-
After getting too little sleep last night, I slept in today and I'm feeling pretty good at the moment. After another cuppa coffee, I think I'll be ready for my day.
-
My baby brother Randy turns 59 today. I wish him the best. I still remember moments from Sunday, June 16, 1957: it was late in the afternoon and school was out for the summer, with the sudden rush of activity around the house when my mother went into labor my brother Macbeth and I were like posts in a pinball machine watching the balls spin past us. My mother, happy to be the center of attention, had made phone calls to her sisters to get her ready for hospital, the emergency overnight bag was to be reconsidered, my dad took Macbeth and me to our grandmother's house on Tenth Avenue. I remember that M and I slept in our grandmother's double bed in her bedroom on the second floor. I never liked the room; there was something about it that terrified me. The next morning, we were told we had a healthy new brother. born in the early morning of June 17.
-
More coffee!
-
Sounds like your grandmother's room could be good for a chapter in the memoirs, DR Elmore.
-
Yes, if you contributed to Indiegogo for the LA show at the CD perk level, that's how you'll receive this. It won't count against your other contribution and you won't receive two copies.
-
I woke up after about two and a half hours of sleep and I can't seem to fall back asleep.
-
Sounds like your grandmother's room could be good for a chapter in the memoirs, DR Elmore.
That house was haunted and there were several ghosts, I suspect, although my family had only seen the lady in the white dress that appeared on the stairs to the second floor. As a child, I was terrified of something I feared was hiding in my grandmother's large closet in her bedroom, something really nasty that lurked in the basement, and that stairwell. The kitchen and living room were safe zones.

The same thing happened to me last night/this morning. UGH!
-
TOD: Mix tapes and CD's and ITunes on Shuffle (which usually contain a healthy dose of cuts from numerous Varese Sarabande, Fynsworth Alley and Kritzerland recordings).
-
I can't remember what level I contributed......or if I did....I think I did......
-
It's sad getting old.....sometimes.
-
Rehearsal was good last night. Everyone is working to get OFF BOOK....and the blocking is working, so we are moving ahead.
-
TOD:
I'd been wanting to ketchup on the films of (Mother) Dolores Hart, and it had been ages since I'd watched Where the Boys Are with any kind of attention being paid, so I spun that one and...oh my goodness. To see it now and recall how "notorious" it was in its day, at least for the likes of my family and their friends... well, so were movies like Peyton Place and Butterfield Eight. We (us kids) were simply not allowed to see those movies at that time. But Boys is a hoot in how it so totally does NOT depict the true Spring Break world, the true Fort Lauderdale (except for the most basic beach shots), or the teenage/college age world...AT ALL. It must surely have seemed quaint to many even when new. But it mentions "sex", and that apparently turned the world upside down.
Even though we didn't see it, the movie sort of resonated with us, as my family had moved from Columbus to Fort Lauderdale in October 1960, and this opened and premiered in all of its notoriety right there at the Gateway Theatre (which happily still exists) in December. We felt a certain connection to it even while shunning it. Anyway, it held my interest and Ms. Hart is lovely, as is the young Paula Prentiss who is actually more charming in this than in many later roles. Connie Francis' musical contribution is iconic, of course, but she fares the least well in appearing at the age these "kids" supposedly are. But every teen/college film in those years suffers in that way.
The other Hart film was Come Fly With Me which I had somehow managed to miss throughout the years. It only recently became available on a Warner Archive DVD-R, so I grabbed it and had my way with it last night -- my way with it including having to kick brightness and contrast levels up several notches just to make it watchable. It's a dark and murky transfer, and you get used to it after a few minutes, but man, you gotta wonder what happened. No matter, you get what you get with those Archive releases and I'm glad to have it. This was more "innocent" than I expected, given the Mad Men-era Pan Am-ish theme. Very very interesting. And it's quite something to see Ms. Hart's final shot, knowing that shortly following that she was taking her one-way drive up to the Abbey.
-
I watched COME FLY WITH ME on TCM the other day....it was rather notorious in its time as well. What struck me most was how pretty Pamela Tiffin was - though heaven knows she was NO actress in ANY of her films - and how much OLDER Lois Nettleton looked than both Tiffen and Hart....she looked old enough to be their mother!
And their love interests weren't so hot either.....Karl Malden, Hugh O'Brien, and Hart Bochner.....seems like a lot of playing out their contracts players were involved in this particular opus.....
-
Other films watched in this curious week included Peter Bogdanovich's romantic comedy They All Laughed, a most curious film. I was charmed by it when I first saw it a couple of times in Westwood, and I don't think I'd seen it since. Seeing it now, I think I wasn't in the groove for being so charmed, but it's such an interesting film that there's plenty to hold one's attention. It needs to be returned to while listening to PB's commentary and interviews about the unique circumstances of his life at that time, all of which inform the film itself. They shot heavily on location, so there are some great ca-1980 views of NYC.

EXACTLY, DR Jrand65. Agree with all of that.
-
I don't have the Presley film Loving You and I don't recall that I've ever seen it. It's never been released on home video in the post-laserdisc era, so I might have to grab the LD on eBay one of these days. But I have King Creole which will be my next Hart.
-
Jrand, you get the CD from the Indiegogo cast album perk.
-
I saw THE PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK when it was first released on home video. Sorry, good as they might be, movies about drug addicts and alcoholism are not my cup of tea...and that includes THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN ARM, DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES, LEAVING LAS VEGAS and THE LOST WEEKEND.
-
TOD:
THE REVENANT
HAIL, CAESAR!
-
I got The Panic in Needle Park Blu-ray and will be giving it a spin in the coming week. I, too, have never been in any way involved with, or had my world touched by, drugs. But I never had the aversion to the movies that BK and Druxy have named. That being said, they aren't movies I can watch very often because they certainly put you through a lot of unpleasantness that I really don't need. Requiem for a Dream, anyone? My oh my. It's probably a genius film, but I've been waiting years to make my first return to it.
Anyway, I always knew about the Needle Park film but for some reason (other than the drug scene depicted), I just never felt compelled to see it. I'm a different kind of film viewer now, so I jumped for the Twilight Time release. Very VERY interesting about the soundtrack score. I look forward to exploring all of that.
-
Panic in Needle Park certainly has one good trivia question: I never knew that Ned Rorem was ever asked to write a film score. I have a memory of seeing it many years ago but I couldn't tell you a thing about it.
-
TOD from yesterday:
All remakes of "A Christmas Carol" tend to be quite good. It's such a great and classic story, it's hard to screw it up.
-
I wonder why they sent out a silent film of "Panic in Needle Park" with only the music score added. Even I have software that could easily mix everything together and burn to a DVD.
-
My book of short stories, DRACULA MEETS JACK THE RIPPER And Other Revisionist Histories, read by Fred Frees, hit 100 audio downloads today.

At my age (75), when I watch a movie, I really just want to be entertained. I read enough terrible stuff in the newspapers or see it on the TV news.

What a quirky little movie. I, too, loved it when I first saw it because it was rather gossamer. I bought a copy for $3 or so a few years back and while I still loved the performances from Audrey Hepburn and Ben Gazzara, I found the movie itself a little more earthbound.

TOD:
CD: Bright Star
Car CD: Disc 8 of 24 of Can You Forgive Her?
DVD: Steve Jobs, The Pirates of Penzance
-
Ah....thanks MR BK....this is GOOD NEWS!
-
DR CHAS SMITH - I like LOVING YOU a lot! It's a Hal Wallis-Paramount spectacular with great color AND Wendall Corey and Lizabeth Scott.... Elvis does some wonderful songs....
Dolores Hart doesn't have many scenes, but she is very pretty and sincere, and she and Elvis make a great screen couple! She reminds me a bit of Judy Tyler in JAILHOUSE ROCK, but Dolores doesn't have Judy's HARD edge.....

I don't remember much of this. I'll have to browse our movie list and see if it is available.

Friday morning greetings! I've been to Scissor Sensation for both a manicure (from Betty) and a haircut (from Tina), so now at least my head and fingertips are ready for our road trip to Florida. Have to have the rest of me ready by Sunday morning...
-
Got a call from DirecTV at seven saying my technician would be here between eight and eight thirty, so that was good. Of course, he was not here between those times so I called back the number and the new automated time of arrival was "en route" and will be here between eight-forty and nine-ten. Do we think he'll be here in the next six minutes? Doubtful. Wonder what the new estimated time will be. I've already complained once about it, and they're not going to want the next phone call which they will get in exactly five minutes.
-
Maybe he is car pooling with the bush man.
-
I hope I just set up my new answering machine correctly. I am not good with instruction manuals.

Ah yes, happy birthday to DR ELMORE's brudder.
-
Randy is a good name.

Page three? Really? For HOURS?

Where in tarnation IS everyone?

Made some wacky noodles - I just didn't feel like going out to eat.
-
So I didn't.
-
I stayed here.
-
And made some wacky noodles.
-
In other words, I didn't go out to eat.
-
DR Matthew, I talked to Ben today and told him you gave him a good review for The Sound of Music. I would like to see the production.
DR TCB, you might enjoy his website. There are some sound and video clips:
http://benjaminjaydavis.com/index.html
I think some of the "arty" shots are really awful.
-
DR Matthew, you might like Branagh's film of The Magic Flute. Ben is funny and charming as Papageno.

Congrats, Druxy!
-
Nice website!
-
No rehearsal tonight, so I am watching television and working on next week's blocking.
-
Well, I must be off. I need to get some concessions for tonight's performance of "The Bible...(abridged)." I didn't look to see how many have purchased tickets online, but I'll find out soon enough.
Be back later.
-
While walking this morning I was rather surprised to see this parked on the side of the road.
-
Another view.
-
It was built at the shipyard near us and will be launched into the river down the ramp on the left of this photo.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Congrats to DR Chas.
-
Vixmom, I couldn't be happier that your wonderful assistant is returning. I truly hope this means shorter, easier days for you.

TOD:
Probably
PERSON OF INTEREST
I may also try
JACK IRISH
-
Is this the last episode of PERSON OF INTEREST?
-
I watched both seasons of BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES and starting missing it right away. I'm not sure why some shows affect me that way.
-
Jane, I went back to season 1. I'll stop when I get to the Root stuff.
-
Another view.
I have a friend who has a boat for sale, but I suspect it's not quite that big.
-
Dinner calls.
TTFN.
-
Oh, and TCB, don't feel bad about not knowing whether George could copy from his computer. That is far from basic computer stuff. It's specialist knowledge that would only be known by people who have a desire to do that. I know true computer geeks who wouldn't know.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Jane, I went back to season 1. I'll stop when I get to the Root stuff.
I looked it up, one episode left and the show is done. It was cancelled. They should be wrapping the story up.
-
Another view.
I have a friend who has a boat for sale, but I suspect it's not quite that big.

-
Good evening. I have been out camping in the woods.
-
That is quite a vehicle to see parked on the street, Jane.
-
Perhaps it is DR Chas boat.... I heard he is hiding it from the Conneticut DMV
-
My lovely Britt was back today She is ajoy
-
I left work at 7 tonight and that was on,t because I was stuck on the phone with someone from Minnesota
-
The Vixter and Vixdad each had plans tonight so I did a little shopping at the local mall
-
Then I rembered a new "Craft it yourself" pizza joint was having their soft opening today. At the outlets so I wandered over to check it out
-
They were having a "pay what you like" night With all proceeds going to a local veterans support group
-
You chose your crust, types of sauce, type of chees and them toppings. And it is one price no mater how many. Few toppings you choose
-
I had a double crust, with organic red sauce, mozzarella, blue cheese, bacon, red onion, fresh mushrooms, grilled chicken
-
And then I came home to find dear George had gifted me with a dad of the tony awards which I am. Enjoying right now
-
A friend is coming by to show me their new dog.
-
That is quite a vehicle to see parked on the street, Jane.
You can imagine the crowd it attracted.

-
Good evening, all.
-
First day back dancing after last weekend's competition.
-
A friend is coming by to show me their new dog.
Will there be a photo?
-
The only thing i can say is that it was better than work was.
-
Found out that more than half the team will be in training or on vacation for the first few days of next week.
-
And I'm behind on one assignment because people didn't get me the stuff to work from.
-
Oh
A friend is coming by to show me their new dog.
Will there be a photo?
Yeah, we want a photo.
-
Beautiful boat, Jane. I'd have asked for a ride.

Well, I must be off. I need to get some concessions for tonight's performance of "The Bible...(abridged)." I didn't look to see how many have purchased tickets online, but I'll find out soon enough.

We have 17 people tonight, and only six were pre-sold. It's going well, so far. :)

A dad?? Not MY dad!
;)
-
Give someone else a dad for Father's Day. Works for me.
-
Good evening!
-
I've got to get to bed. I'm ushering something at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow. That's just too dang early.
-
Good night, all.
-
Vibes for all who need them.
-
Good evening, all. Back from the play, which was pretty decent tonight but I believe the last two performances are going to kick ass.
-
And damn it to HELL, everybody beat me to the punch with the dad lines!
-
Elmore, thank you for giving me the address for Ben's website, but, trust me, I already discovered it.
-
That TCB is such a clever lad.
-
Vixmom, I am so glad that your co-worker has returned.
-
One more post.
-
Six!
-
Hi, George!
-
How did my boat get to Vancouver?
-
That will teach me not to valet park my boat when I go to Harbor Lights for dinner.
-
My friend, Sharry and I had a nice lunch today.
-
Then I came home and took a nap.
-
Eating lunch can be so exhausting.
-
Beautiful boat, Jane. I'd have asked for a ride.
It wasn't going anywhere ;D
I would like to know when it will be launched and watch.
-
Who am I kidding? Getting out of bed can be exhausting.
-
Vibes for all who need them.
DITTO!
-
They keep telling us that we are going to have nice weather coming up.
-
But, so far, they keep pushing it out another day and then another day.
-
Now they are saying that the rain will be gone by tomorrow evening and Father's Day should be dry. We shall see.
-
Now they have changed the forecast again. Now they are saying the rain will be gone by Sunday afternoon. with a few scattered showers on Sunday morning.
-
Tomorrow is my great nephew's graduation party. I already sent his gift to the house, so I will just drop in for a little while.
-
He is still trying to deal with the auto accident a week ago.
-
Hi, Vixmom!
-
Hmm, I think I scared her away.
-
Actually, I seem to have scared everyone away.
-
There aren't even any Guests here tonight.
-
Hi, George!
Hi, Tom!

~~~Continued Vibes for TCB's Nephew!!~~~
-
Well, we're at the last number.
-
The audience was a bit quiet tonight.
-
They did laugh throughout the evening, just not as much as last night's audience.
-
And we're done!
-
A lot of news coverage tonight for Olympia's Gay Pride Festival.
-
Met the doggie, then stopped at Whole Foods and got some of that sweet chili shrimp - I wasn't going to eat anything else, but shrimp has almost zero calories, so, why not.
-
I goobered a couple of cues by coming in just a tiny bit too early on them, but I don't think it threw anyone off...and it happened only on a couple of them.
-
So now, I'm off.
Be back later.
-
Seven
-
Page seven? Really?
-
DR TCB, I wish your nephew good days ahead. It is a shame his senior year has been so difficult.
-
Thanks, Jane.
I'm home.
Just had to share.
I'm watching an episode of "Antiques Roadshow" from 2014 and they had on the great grandson of Bert Lahr, who had Bert's working script of "The Wizard of Oz." The appraiser said that it should not be insured for less than $150,000! Who knew??
