Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the thirty-minute rule, and now it is time for you to post until the thirty-minute cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LIMINAL!
-
First post after BK!

Honey roasted cashews sound really good.
-
Honey roasted cashews sound really good.
I like the honey roasted cashews, but I really prefer just regular salted cashews...they're my favorite.
-
But if the honey roasted are the only kind available, I wouldn't turn them down. :)
-
Well, I really need to get to bed now. I have interviews fairly in the morning. One of my staff retired last month (the one who replaced me when I became the supervisor) and I need to hire her replacement. We have a couple of internal candidates (including one already in our department), and a couple of externals. We'll see how it goes.
-
Good night, Tom!
-
Good night, George.

zGood morning to all

-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well. I have to be out of here around 9:15. i'm meeting my friend Ben Davis, who's got two weeks off of The Sound of Music tour, for coffee. I haven't seen him since he came to the Merry Widow concert at Trinity Church two years ago.
-
First after Larry!
-
I didn't know the thirty-minute rule. I knew about the "seven-block rule" - not to say anything negative about a show that any friends are involved in until you're seven blocks away from the theatre.
-
I may do laundry when I get home. I need to finish "Adelaide's Lament," and get on to the title song. I want to finish Act One this week.
-
In my email this morning, I got the pdf's of final score for Gentlemen, Be Seated! I need to finish that up this week as well.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And I need to call Joshie about a trip to City Center this week to pick up a package that was sent to me there. I have no idea what it is, but I know it's from Adam Alexander, who was once of the Collegians on the ROBERTA recording. When I last saw Adam, he was moving to Paris to marry a Parisienne he had been seeing for some time. His family lives inb Manhattan and I believe he's singing in a summer opera company in the States at the moment.

I can't quite put a face to the name, but I remember being introduced to him by DR Elmore at Trinity.
Two years ago! Those concerts were so nice to take a day in the city to attend.
-
Looking at his web site now.
-
Ben Davis is a high school in Indianapolis.
We had FOUR trash cans this morning. Three of them were full of limbs and leaves that we trimmed from the BIG bushes we had in the front and back yard.
Heavy!
-
Tonight is production photo night.....I should have a FULL cast and crew for the first time in a week. That will be nice.
-
TOD:
Most successful: No bread or pasta....maybe a bit now and then....and NO EATING after 6 p.m. That's what I'm doing now, and I have lost 25 pounds....in about six months. No exercise or anything or it would have been more. I want to lost another 25 pounds before the end of the year.
Least successful: Any of the banana or hot dog diets.....
-
In tribute to my friend, DR ChasSmith, I am having a PB&J. I have no other food in the apartment.
-
I am honored, DR Elmore. I shall be having one, myself, in a little while.
-
I have no other food in the apartment.
And isn't that exactly what PB&Js are for, sometimes?
-
Most diets work temporarily, but then you gain all the weight (and usually more) back. You have to find a way of eating right for you-- which for most people includes many small meals throughout the day to keep their bodies and brains fueled. You don't do too well if your body has nothing to run on.
-
I have no other food in the apartment.
And isn't that exactly what PB&Js are for, sometimes?
That's the only thing they're there for!
-
Monday morning greetings!
Ben Davis is a high school in Indianapolis....
My mother and her siblings graduated from there.
-
Interesting DR GINNY.....Ben Davis - home of the Giants!
They had a great rivalry with Shortridge - home of the Blue Devils.

From DR TCB:
As for PB&J, I love Jif Peanut Butter with blackberry jam (any brand).
I forgot blackberry preserves, actually marionberry.
-
I don't have any marionberry right now, just the apricot I enjoy. I like the apricot because it doesn't stain if it drips, not that I put enough on for it to drip.

Honey roasted cashews sound really good.
I like the honey roasted cashews, but I really prefer just regular salted cashews...they're my favorite.
Mine too, lightly salted if I can find them. I am very fussy, of course, and had a long search here before finding some I really like.

We have been to see Richard's chiropractor, who helped him significantly with a case of Bell's palsy, which is a problem of the 6th cranial nerve, about 20 years ago. Richard's theory is, since his current problem is with the 4th, it was worth a try. Time will tell...
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
I am home from a visit with Ben and a trip to market. The laundry is in the washers, and I shall finish up "Adelaide's Lament." When the clothes go into the dryers, I'll walk over to the bank

I had aPBF&J once.
It was pork belly, foie and blackberry jelly. Stoner gourmet.

TOD:
My favorite diet was the raw diet. I was on it for 21 days and lost 21 pounds. I felt better, slept better and felt more positive. It's just almost impossible to follow, especially back then when I wrote about food.

DRs, do any of you have a copy of the musical version of Spitfire Grill that you could send me as mp3 files?
I cannot believe the CD is out of print!
-
I do not, DR Elmore.

But I just had a great little session in the Music Room, listening to the LP of Ned Rorem songs I'd picked up at a record sale some time ago and which I'd pulled out when BK was posting about him. It's this one, but mine is the original Columbia LP and in beautiful condition: https://goo.gl/02KqUm
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. I have a new piece of Found Treasure. I had just transferred the LP to its new sleeve, and since the original paper sleeve was torn, I was about to toss it when my hand felt something small that was still inside -- which was weird since I'd already handled it twice without detecting it. It was a postcard from Bologna, Italy. The signature, Jane Angelovich, meant nothing to me until I looked back at the record jacket, and there was Gianna D'Angelo, soprano. Bingo! She'd mailed it to friends in Hartford and the note included "Am glad you enjoyed hearing my records. I hope to make more soon."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gianna_D%27Angelo
-
No date on the card because the postmark was more off it than on it.
I never heard her in person but I think I have her on a couple of opera recordings. I see she taught at Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.
-
Fun DR CHAS SMITH!
Nice video DR ELMORE. I am sorry I do not have the recording you need.

I have a vague memory that d'Angelo recorded a Rigoletto or Traviata.

Back from a jog. BTW, the endless auction actually ended around seven or eight this morning.

Did you win the item you wanted?

;D
It is a Pacific Northwest brand from 1897 which is now owned by Smuckers.
-
Yes inquiring minds want to know MR BK - did you win what you were bidding on?
-
I shall soon be on my to a full rehearsal in the HOT weather....hopefully with a full cast and crew.....
-
Good afternoon.

DRs, do any of you have a copy of the musical version of Spitfire Grill that you could send me as mp3 files?

I have long wanted the recording of that show. It's out of print, as you said, and copies are outrageously priced.
-
Good afternoon.
Good afternoon, DR Laura. How hot is it there today?

Will you be able to say more at a later date?
-
We had errands to do downtown this morning so Keith left me there to walk home. About 3 quarters of the way home I ran into my neighbor so I turned around and walked with her. Between the morning walk and afternoon one with Keith I think I went 9 1/2 miles. I wish I would find my fitbit to record my milage.
-
Good evening!
-
It was a beautiful day in the DC area. In the 80's with low humidity. It won't last for long, though.
-
I wasn't bidding on anything, just observing, but I was right - ALL lots stay open until the entire auction receives no bids for thirty minutes. I'm cutting and pasting what their site says, which I interpret quite differently.
-
Had a nice walk-through at the Pasadena Playhouse and all the tech details are known and approved.
-
Will you be able to say more at a later date?
Eventually. Hopefully, next week.

THe optifast has been the most successful although it is hard to keep to it stictly. I have lost almost 50lbs
My friend Margo went through Optifast twice. She gained back the weight both times. About 15 years ago, she wanted to adopt another baby from China and not have to buy two airplane seats for herself, so she looked at other options. Gastric bypass was not something that she was going to consider, at all. We went to a presentation of a program offered through (but not by) Group Health called Health Management Resources (HMR). It was like Optifast (all or mostly meal replacement shakes), but not as calorically restrictive, and medical testing wasn't necessary.
On a whim, I decided to do it also, so we both went through the program. I lost 122 pounds, but the company didn't want to send two people from Seattle to Olympia once a week anymore and the program ended for us. Reality set in and we both gained back most of the weight...not all, but most. Coincidentally, we recently decided to do the HMR shakes again on our own, although not full bore. I've actually started changing some of the things that I eat, and have lost some weight already.

What is a raw diet?
It's my understanding that everything you eat is literally raw...no cooking at all. I'm sure that there's more to it than just that, though.
-
And now, I'm off. Heading (eventually) for home.
Until later.

Exactly what it says: Nothing is cooked. Nothing, in fact, is heated past Laura's temperature high today: 108 degrees. No hot coffee, no steaming hot soup, no steak off the grill, nothing cooked.

Visited Mom this afternoon and took her a slice of Fr. Richard's retirement cake. She was kind of detached, but that's nothing new.
-
We had a surprise visit from Richard's brother this evening. His wife is out of town tending to her sister who had triple by-pass surgery today. Some vibes for Janet would be appreciated.
-
I'm also updating my Kindle, which has been kind of involved because I had to do it manually by connecting the device to my computer via USB cable. I think the procedure is almost complete.
-
Kindle update success!
-
I find it interesting that the two movies I watched last night and tonight, The Naked Spur and Youth, both have main women characters named Lena in them.
-
Youth is an odd little movie. Pretentious at times but visually interesting. And good performers having fun. Harvey Keitel is subdued and fun. Michael Caine is just charming. Rachael Weisz, Paul Dano and most of the rest of the cast are having a great time. Jane Fonda was probably also having a good time. Her one big scene is filled with scenery chomping. But the makeup people made her look like a drag queen horror version of Karen Black.
-
I'm almost packed.
-
Can we make it to page four?
-
With a little bit o' luck.
-
Four!
-
Page four?
-
Really?
-
Good night, all.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Back from a good production meeting - lots of stuff discussed and agreed upon.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Good evening!
-
Page four? What a lot of poop.

It was a quiet day around TCB land today.
-
#101
-
I did go to the store, just to get out of the house.
-
I was going to take myself out to lunch at Applebee's, but I wasn't feeling up to that today.
-
Besides I have the old actor's lunch tomorrow.
-
I know I am having a bowl of razor clam chowder.
-
Perhaps I will have two bowls.
-
Boy, I am getting ahead of myself.
-
Tomorrow is only Tuesday, which means today is only Monday.
-
I am actually meeting my sister and brother-in-law for lunch tomorrow.
-
Assuming I don't get ahead of myself again.
-
Today I watched a really bad movie.
-
It was called JOURNEY 2: MYSTERIOUS ISLAND.
-
The movie stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Michael Caine.
-
It obviously was made as a 3-D film.
-
However, it was not shown on Amazon in 3D.
-
We had a surprise visit from Richard's brother this evening. His wife is out of town tending to her sister who had triple by-pass surgery today. Some vibes for Janet would be appreciated.
Vibes for Janet!
-
How is Richard feeling today?
-
It was a retelling of Jules Verne's MYSTERIOUS ISLAND.
-
We skipped that one.
-
And they eventually found the Nautilus in a cave under the island.
-
Jane, today I got some wonderful photos from the gal I found, the one who is immortalized in the prologue of Kritzer Time.
-
FIVE
-
Tomorrow I will take my iPhone to t-mobile and hope they can fix it. I can text and call on it but none of the "smart" stuff works 90% of the time.
-
Page 5? Really?
-
We are expecting rain showers tomorrow.
-
It was a retelling of Jules Verne's MYSTERIOUS ISLAND.
And it's actually a sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373051/reference), starring Brendan Fraser.
-
This has not been a very exciting July, so far.
-
11:00 p.m. Where has the time gone?
-
I need to take my medications and get ready for bed.
-
I will return in a few minutes.
-

Get me off this damn page.

This has not been a very exciting July, so far.
But it has been a comfortable one weather wise. Last summer it was too hot.
-
Tomorrow is the TAO monthly board meeting.
-
I have to balance the checkbook and prepare the info for the meeting.
-
I'm gonna be up for a while. :P
