DR Vixmom I browsed toaster ovens.  I prefer the look of a toaster, and it is easier to keep in a cabinet.  We are still deciding.  The local ger we go without an oven the more appealing a toaster oven is.

On Friday, Precious is going in to get her yearly shots.....our vet let's us stay with our doggies while he does it.....so it's not much of an ordeal.  She hates to ride in the car, but it's just a short drive.

I very much enjoyed MR BK's notes about Garry Marshall....and the clip.  I remember that episode well.

In these days, I don't think young folks can imagine how BIG and POPULAR those two shows were.....Millions of viewers every week....huge ratings....the top two shows for several years.....

Since we can't discuss politics, I have little more to say.

Except that people can't talk to one another any more. I can't talk to my cousin because her views aren't based on facts. If you point out that her information is incorrect, she doesn't care. Her views are all based on her emotions (read prejudices). I like my cousin. I've always had to avoid politics with her, but I truly question whether we can get through the next few months without it coming up. The discussion of politics is like a giant landmine. How do you sidestep something so big? I fear that many friendships will be damaged.

And (if I didn't say it before), I spent five and a half hours in and out of the dentist's chair today, and am exhausted from it.

And considerably poorer for it.

BUT...rather blissed out following a wonderful get-together at a neighbor's house this evening, a perfect summer evening's dally on the verandah.

If there was some way to block the words "Trump," "Hillary," and "Clinton" on Facebook, I'd sure like to know how.

A BIG "LIKE" FOR THIS!

Today on my hike, a coyote howled. Immediately all the others in the area answered. I rarely see coyotes there, but, holy cow, there were LOTS of them around. They weren't very far away, either. And I couldn't see a single one.

What I know about Texas toast can be writ on the head of a pin, but the kind I buy here is basically, like someone else said, a double-thick sliced bread.  What I've bought it for is making french toast.  And baby, I make a nice french toast.

We made it to 80 a few times this spring, but this was the first time in the summer months.

I have found this particular election worse than any in history - people are behaving idiotically, mostly on one side, but plenty from the other side, too.  It's what one of the candidates wanted exactly - politics turned into a reality TV show.  It's disgusting and makes me want to vomit on the ground.  And that's all I'm saying about that.

I don't go to Facebook very much any more, because I am not interested in people pushing their politics.  Expressing your opinion is different than cramming your own opinion down other people's throats.  And that goes for both sides now.

BK, Don Oliver of Chelsea Music just called me.  He's working on a Broadway night benefit for the Orlando victims, and he was listening to Unsung Sondheim today for the first time in years.  He wanted to tell me how much he enjoyed it, so we talked about it and you a little bit.

That is a wonderful recording. And that is a good reminder to take it out and play it again.

It's one of my absolute all-time favorite Sondheim non-show recordings!

Dairy Queen includes Texas toast as part of their chicken strip basket.  Their toast is not any bigger than regular sliced bread.
