Well, you've read the notes, the notes were very late, and now it is time for you to post until the very late cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROPAEDEUTIC!
-
~~~Finding a Singer Vibes for BK~~~
-
First post after BK and myself!
;)
-
First East coast morning post!
-
TOD: I find listening to "You Raise Me Up" seems to make me feel inspired when I hear it. That may also be because it brings to mind the spirit of the concert where Josh Groban sang it and everyone in the audience was standing with those lighters waving them back and forth. it was very exciting at the event, and hearing the song brings it back.
-
TOD (continued): And on a less dramatic note, the Mel Brooks number "Hope for the Best, Expect the Worst" somehow actually inspires me to keep hopes up even when things are bad, especially the part where they sing "Live while you're alive!" suggesting we're all in this seemingly unfair world together.
-
Good morning, all.
-
This post is coming to you, live, from the Pequot Library in beautiful downtown Southport, Connecticut, where I arrived an hour and fifteen minutes early before the opening of the starting gate. And there are only a dozen people ahead of me in line. This is unprecedented.
-
This is my last book sale till a brief drop-in at one on the Labor Day weekend.
-
I wonder if there were long lines for the restrooms at the play last night.
-
Well, fortunately, we're standing and sitting in lovely shade here in this distinguished old neighborhood. It's going to be brutal today.
Also, I'm parked right outside the library, which is wonderful. Life is good sometimes. Which is nice because yesterday was awful. So many little things were going wrong that I wondered what was up with the planets.
-
Okay, enough from me.
At home later I'm working on GYPSY, and tonight I see TITLE OF SHOW. And that's my day.
-
Just took some photographic evidence which I'll post from home. I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to manage that from this phone.
-
Just a couple more minutes...
-
DING DING DING
And...they're off!
-
The car has been washed inside and out, the gas tank is full .
-
Now I must pack and soon we will be off to the wilds of that far off land known as Connecticut
-
Good morning, all!
-
TOD:
The obvious choices are "God Bless America" and other songs of that sort.
The first song that comes to mind from a show is "Half the Battle" from BEN FRANKLIN IN PARIS.
-
I slept quite late. Around 1:00 AM, I woke from a terrifying dream that took me some time yo settle down and turn out the lights. IU remember none of the particulars now, but a great dea; pf the dream was about the Ray Bradbury story "The October Game":
the witch is dead and this is her head . . .
My last dream was in the dressing room of Angela Lansbury, who was appearing in a revival of Sweeney Todd. I was running an errand that involved my leaving something at the stage door for her and the doorman had sent me up to her dressing room, where I saw posted on the wall a letter from a friend of mine now living in LA. I ran into her on Broadway, and asked her if I could have his address. She invited me back to copy it. There was also something about a bag of coins I was taking to the bank spilling all over the floor and other cast members helping me collect them.
-
I have no real plans for the day, but I may go to the Lincoln Center library. There's a display on Mozart's The Magic Flute that was created by Jean Druesedow, for wgom I was a graduate assistant, 1968-1970.
-
Hot today! Heat advisory....and closing night for ON GOLDEN POND, which means STRIKE.....then we are DONE.
-
TOD:
Some People - which told me that you can have a dream, but unless you get out and do something about it, that dream will NEVER come true!
-
Saturday morning greetings! Yesterday was a pretty intense Project Mom day, so I drank 2 glasses of wine before I went to bed. That knocked me out for about 3 hours, but I was awake from 2-4am. I'm taking it easy today until it's time for us to leave to pick up Mary Linda at the airport. She returns from London this evening and Rob is at a training session on Ohio's north coast (Lake Erie).
-
I wonder if there were long lines for the restrooms at the play last night.
;D
-
Now I must pack and soon we will be off to the wilds of that far off land known as Connecticut
Have a good time.
-
Ginny, you had a typical night of sleep for me, if I can fall right to sleep. Often I wake up in half an hour to an hour.
Sorry to hear that, DR Jane.
Thanks.
I'm up, I'm up - probably six hours, but maybe five.
-
I am a bit behind reading some of the posts. DR Jane so sorry to hear about your friend's son. How horrible. :(
-
The weather here is so hot.
-
I have been up since six. I have spent the last three hours reading stories on AOL and dozing in my chair.
-
I am expecting the call about Nicky at any time.
-
And I have had my two cups of coffee.
Good news about Nicky, TCB
I am in a restaurant waiting for friends. I misread the email. I was supposed to meet them at their house. Oops. Or spoo.
-
ChasSmith, Pequot is the name of my old publisher, which was iut of Connecticut.
Everyone be careful in the HEAT......
Good news DR TCB.....Nicky will be so glad!!
I am a bit behind reading some of the posts. DR Jane so sorry to hear about your friend's son. How horrible. :(
Thank you. She is quiet on facebook but putting up photos of her son and her other two boys. They are beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
Such a nice, caring young man :(
-
Yeah! Nicky is coming home today.
I am off for a walk but wanted to check for news first.
:)
-
I got my vocal score for Monday's rehearsal bound and I still have to do the same for the script. Our stage manager just emailed everyone to introduce himself.
Our director just sent this to one and all:
Everyone be careful in the HEAT......
I decided to pass on the library. The exhibit is up through Aug. 29. I'm listening to The Marriage of Figaro and getting small thing accomplished. I may do laundry, although I could hold off till tomorrow.
-
Yeah! Nicky is coming home today.
Fantastic, DR TCB!
-
Yeah! Nicky is coming home today.
Yay! You're happy about your cat coming home today and Mary Linda's cat is looking forward to her person coming home.
-
My friend Katie, who hosted book group Thursday evening, owns a bed and breakfast in Oxford called the White Garden Inn. She has a huge garden planted there and sent us all home with zucchini and beets. Today I've shredded the zucchini and frozen it in 2-cup portions for baking bread and I had a fabulous beet and cottage cheese salad for lunch.
-
And a new poster has popped up!
-
Back!
Got a lot to accomplish today, so photographic evidence and such will have to wait.
-
Very good to hear Nicky is coming home!
-
This is all very exciting, DR Elmore. Really looking forward to the reading.
-
Good lookin' cast!
Thanks to DR CHAS SMITH, DR ELMORE, and DR JANE.
It is already a feels like of 99 degrees.....this will be our smallest audience I am sure...
-
Stay cool.
-
Did a two-and-a-half mile jog, had an omelet with no bread whatsoever and fruit, put gas in the motor car, picked up a package and am now home.
-
It is completely disgusting outside. Naturally there are fires in several places so the sky is a blanket of white with ashes and that horrid smell.
-
I need to step out to the the bank and I would so prefer not to!
-
Yes, fire began yesterday at two in the afternoon in the Santa Clarita area - I await the cause, which I'm sure will be some ASS who tossed a cigarette or started it deliberately. This ash fallout and blanketed sky affecting the entire Valley.
-
Vibes for a great closing show and closing night audience to Jrand!
I know how lonely it can be when they're away. TCB, might your vet provide a loan cat during these times?
TOD:
I'M STILL HERE
TOMORROW
-
And a new poster has popped up!
It's quite attractive.
-
I hoped for an early start today, which I got, in order to get some cleaning and laundry done before it got too hot. Laundry has been done for today, as well as some of the cleaning. I've already closed the windows and turned on the AC. (I like to keep the windows open as long as possible.) Yesterday it was 85 inside, even with the AC on high.
I hope to get a bit more done today.
-
TTFN.
It's a hot Saturday, but one should expect no less in Phoenix in July. Holding out (and staying in) until October.
Those are some very attractive people, Larry. I don't doubt that they're all just as talented, too. ;D
-
Well, I'm here posting on my phone from the local Burger King after having consumed a couple of $1 hot dogs in honor of the unofficial National Hot Dog Day. The song that just started playing on their radio is Neil Diamond's "America." I want to add this song to my list for the topic of the day. :)
-
And on that note (A-natural), I must be going. I have to check the (snail) mail of my friend who is vacationing on the east coast with his wife. Then, I think I need to get back home and do some laundry.
Until later.
-
BK and I had a discussion this week, add it got me wanting to watch The Manchurian Candidate again. So, I am. Absolutely terrifying and relevant.
-
Yes, fire began yesterday at two in the afternoon in the Santa Clarita area - I await the cause, which I'm sure will be some ASS who tossed a cigarette or started it deliberately. This ash fallout and blanketed sky affecting the entire Valley.
Our good friend in Santa Clarita must me fine. I received an email today and the fire wasn't mentioned.
It is completely disgusting outside. Naturally there are fires in several places so the sky is a blanket of white with ashes and that horrid smell.
Photos of the sky are popping up on my friend's facebook pages. I think the one shared from Vintage Los Angeles is the best so far.
-
I confirmed our friends are ok :)
-
Back from a very enjoyable dinner train experience
-
:)
-
Well, the first load of laundry is now dry, so I can dry the second load and wash the third.
-
Doesn't that just thrill ya?
;)
My Blu-ray copy of Pioneers of African American Cinema (https://www.kinolorber.com/product/view/id/2550) arrived today and I'm watching the first disc. I contributed to the Kickstarter campaign and my name is in the booket in the Special Thanks! :D
-
Just learned that a friend's nephew lives in the area of the fire that BK was talking about. Here's hoping that fire's out soon.
-
Started watching Resnais' Muriel, Or The Time of Return. Pretentious French twaddle that I'm finding kinda fun.
-
TOD 2:
Behold the Hills of Tomorrow
Over the Rainbow
I Got the Sun in the Morning
Cole Porter's Tomorrow
I Want to Be Happy
Hello,1 Guest!
Yeah! Nicky is coming home today.
Great news, Tom!!
Thanks, George.
Back from the horrid musical Urinetown. I hated it when I saw the national tour (as did the audience I saw it with) and I hate it even more now, especially in a high school production by a director who does not understand pace and how to direct actors. The kids were good despite that.
-
I picked up Nicky at about 11:30 this morning.
-
Good vibes to them and to everyone in the path of the fire!
That was a show we could have missed.
-
I picked up Nicky at about 11:30 this morning.
How is he?
-
The minute he laid eyes on me, he started letting me have it.
-
All the way out to the car,
-
for the entire drive home,
-
and all the way into the apartment;
-
he continued to tell me off.
-
he continued to tell me off.
Cats are soooo good at that ;D
-
All I could do was tell him that everything was going to be fine and that we were going home.
-
He kept bitching me out for about an hour after we got home.
-
He kept walking from room to room grumbling under his breath.
-
I tried not to laugh, but it was really pretty funny.
-
Now he is curled up on the bed with me.
Of course :)
-
Now he is curled up on the bed with me.
Nice. :)
-
He is sleeping soundly, but every half hour or so, he wakes himself up and checks that he is really home and that I am there.
-
If he doesn't demand you pet him in the middle of the night he will have let you off easy.
-
I am very glad he is were he below GSM, home with you 💕
'night
If he doesn't demand you pet him in the middle of the night he will have let you off easy.
Oh, I am sure.
-
Not to mention waking me at about 5:30 wanting his breakfast.
-
What I haven't told him is that he has a one month and a three month follow-up appointments to check his thyroid.
-
One more post.
Good night, Jane.
-
I rambled on so long that our one Guest left.
-
I finally watched a couple episodes of VICIOUS tonight.
-
There were some laugh out loud moments.
-
But I know several couples like them.
-
Greetings, 1 Guest!
-
I guess Nick is planning on staying on my bed tonight.
-
No attempt has been made to go up to his own bed.
-
My cat pretty much always slept in my bed.
-
This will last until I start to snore, and then he will be out of here.
-
Well, on me, on my bed.
-
This will last until I start to snore, and then he will be out of here.
She wouldn't stay there all night, but I don't know if my snoring was the only thing that got her to move.
Well, it is either my snoring, or too much garlic in the spaghetti sauce.
