Well, you've read the notes, the notes came up Rosie, and now it is time for you to post until the Rosie cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CALUMNIATE!
-
First post after BK!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Well, I was sure wrong! It wasn't a Kritzerland show last night. Spoo.
I'm still very happy that it went well.
-
The main problem with this election is thatI am unfriending FB friends nonchalantly. For good. Forever.
-
When I awoke at 6:15, I dreamed I was in a reading of Cole Porter's 1935 show Jubilee. I wish I were in a recording studio recording it.
-
The jitters are getting worse for today. I will be glad when 4:00PM arrives and it's a thing of the past. The only thing I look forward to is seeing the friends who show up.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Continuing Jitter (not Jitterbug) Vibes for DR Elmore.
-
I am SO like that...having the serious jitters and counting down till the hour the thing - whatever it is - will be behind me.
-
I'm going to take a train that gets me into NYC about eleven this morning, and I shall mosey, in my most leisurely, moseying fashion, around Midtown then up to 54th and Lexington for a little Moonshine.
-
And perhaps a little moonshine.
-
Yes we need a little moonshine.
-

Have you been to the York before? It's in the basement of St Peter's Church.
-
I will take the crosstown 79th Street bus to Lexington and then transfer to a downtown bus. I'll leave around 9:15. East Side traffic can be dreadful.
-
TOD: In honor of people getting to St. Peter's Church, and hopefully finding the right entrance, here's a Rosemary Clooney cover that I'm hooked on, her take on "Get Me to the Church on Time"
Rosemary Clooney and Nelson Riddle and "Get me to the Church on Time"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pznnNzjcN7I
-
No, haven't been there, but I saw the directions to enter on 54th Street.
-
And Ms. Clooney is helping.
-
Okay, forget that train. I had to get some things done just now, so will take the one that gets me in at 12:45 and I'll just take the subway up to the church.
EDIT: Except that's just one stop, and I really hate doing that so I'll probably walk it.
-
Congrats to BK on the success of last night's show!
-
Okay, I'm outta here. I don't know if I'll see DR Elmore before the reading, so...
BREAK LEGS VIBES!
-
SHOW vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Great notes and wonderful photos in the notes! Thanks to MR BK for sharing. Sounds like it was a wonderful evening.
-
TOD:
I am tempted to say everything.....but I will be specific and say:
"Brave Man" & the title tune from "Red Garters"

DR elmore, HAVE A GREAT DAY!
-
TOD:
Rosemary Clooney used to be my publicity client.
I like all her songs,
-
I read PATRICK BRONSTEIN PRESENTS yesterday.
Terrific Book! One of BK's very best.
-
Monday morning greetings! We've been out for Richard's chiropractor appointment and a few other errands. Home now to continue working on a big furniture switcheroo in my Momcave.
-
Hugs and best wishes to DR Elmore and the MOONSHINE & MISTLETOE company!
-
Greetings from Metro North, New Haven Line!
-
Hopefully I will finish the photos today....and then we have a full run thru. Costumes arrive tomorrow.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Passing through New Rochelle.
-
Many vibes for Elmore, Moonshine and Mistletoe company.
-
I was fortunate early in my journalism career to have interviewed Rosemary Clooney five times. Great lady as well as an incomparable vocalist.
-
Just started reading the Ned Rorem Diaries on the Kindle.
Fantastic!
-
That's wonderful, DR John G.
-
Favorite Clooney songs include Hey There, Mambo Italiano and that Saroyan classic, Come on a My House. One of her best covers was Why Shouldn't I from Jubilee, which Elmore mentioned this morning.
-
I'm up, I'm up - a little less than eight hours of sleep.
-
When I awoke at 6:15, I dreamed I was in a reading of Cole Porter's 1935 show Jubilee. I wish I were in a recording studio recording it.
I wish you were, too.
-
Three.
-
And here I am. Way early, but hey. To the church on time, indeed.
-
Light the candle....pull the stops out
-
Good morning. It is a glorious day here. It was only 81 when I started on the trail. And 83 when I got down three hours later.
-

I love Rosemary Clooney. Hey There might also be my favorite song of hers.
-
Did the pick-up, which was actually about five minutes from where I grew up. Took forty-five minutes to get there, and twenty to get back. Go know.
-
Then I had an omelet and an English muffin. In about thirty minutes or so I'll do a jog.
-
I shall soon be off to rehearsal and take the photographs of the lazy people who couldn't be bothered last week.
-
Many vibes for Elmore, Moonshine and Mistletoe company.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
-
My new staff member started today. So far, things are going well.
-
The big furniture switcheroo is almost complete and I now have a computer desk that does not face the morning sun. And my books have all been dusted and reorganized. Still can't part with many, but that's another story...
The main problem with this election is thatI am unfriending FB friends nonchalantly. For good. Forever.
It is my goal, DR Elmore, to get through this election season without anyone knowing how I feel about the candidates or how I plan on voting.
-
And I am home! Sightly tipsy from one Manhattan and a tasty cheeseburger. My friend Steve Young, whom I have not laid eyes on since March 1974 when two Middletown friends and I crashed at his apartment in Chelsea, came to today's reading. After the show, he, DR ChasSmith, Brent our MD, DJ my collaborator and I went to a local bar bor dinner and a drink. It was quiye a lovely event. Two if DJ's friends joined usw. It was quite festive, and i am thrilled the reading went as well as it did.
I will let DR ChasSmith report on the reading.
-
I thought things went really smoothly for a 29-hour rehearsal period, and the cast came through amazingly well, even with several inopportune brain farts.
There were some beautiful moments.
-
Afdter the reading, all involved were photographed.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I'm pleased your reading went well, Larry, and am pleased that you're pleased.
And you can relax now.
-
I'd love to see the show.
-
Nice photo, DR Elmore! I'm glad to hear things went so well and that you had so many friends there. Wish we'd been among them!
A noble goal, DR Laura, and in some circles this may be a necessary survival tactic. Among many of my friends, who feel as I do, there's a lot of discussion, as people are simply AGHAST at some of the things being said. It is NOT a normal election!
-
I had a busy day of very routine stuff. So no news here.
-
Nice photo, DR Elmore! I'm glad to hear things went so well and that you had so many friends there. Wish we'd been among them!
My friend Steve came from upstate near Bard College; other friends who came were DR ChasSmith, Ora McCreary, Alice Boyne, Peter Foley, Rob Berman, Andrew Gerle, and Eric Dietz. The theatre seats around 180, and I would guess there were 150, maybe?
Nice crowd! Right before I woke up this morning, I dreamed that I was trying to get a last-minute ticket at the box office.
Congrats on the reading, Larry! And that's a great picture of the people involved!
So far, so good! The WORST part is that I need to get here at 8:30 because she wants to get here (for the time being) at 8:30. Eventually, when she's more trained and can start things each morning on her own, she'd like to start even earlier because of child care. That will be fine, and then I can start coming to work later again...and I really don't think that I will get used to coming in that early to make it permanent for me.
;)
-
The reading was absolutely beautiful, brain farts or no. I wish this cast could just take the show on the road. Now. They're incredible, and like DR Elmore said.... 29 hours??
-
But the reading was beautiful because the material is beautiful. I kept saying, wow, after all of these months hearing about it...
Who knew???
Gorgeous music in gorgeous arrangements, portrayed by gorgeous people. You don't get an afternoon like this every day.
-
DR Elmore's close personal friend Steve Young said he'd wish for even more book, to balance out the wonderful music...and I agree. I felt I was "getting into" this family in the holler later than maybe I could have.
Wonderful stuff, though. I wish for nothing but great success with it.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work. I got here early, but didn't leave early, so I already have an extra hour to be used later in the week. :)
Be back later.
You would be shocked how many we gave away, something that was once unimaginable.
-
I'd love to see the show.
Amen.
That is an understatement.
Lovely and heartwarming.
I found a copy of Bette Midler's Rosemary Clooney tribute album in the dollar bin recently and decided to buy, even though I didn't care for it when I first heard it.
I found that, this time around, I loved it as a Bette Midler album. Really a lot of fun, especially her duet with Barry Manilow on Slow Boat to China.
-
Finishing up It's Love Again, which turned out to be a wonderful musical, my favorite of Jessie Matthews'.
We didn't doubt. But it's wonderful to have someone say it.
Congratulations to Larry!!!
-
Page three? Really?
-
Let's move on.
-
Four!
-
Page four? Really?
-
I'm off to finish my Richard Russo novel. I've only got 40 or so pages left.
-
Good night, all.
-
Good evening!
-
Oh dear! Page four!
-
What can I say?
-
I got all chocked up just reading Chas' comments about Larry's show.
-
It must have been a magical afternoon.
-
Oh how I wish I could have been there to see the show.
-
Congratulations and successful vibes to elmore and M & M.
#101
-
Wow! That was a bit much.
-
I guess I didn't know my own font.
-
Another beautiful summer day in Puget Sound.
-
Tomorrow is supposed to be a one day hiccup in our weather.
-
They are predicting showers and possibly thunder showers tomorrow afternoon.
-
The thunder and lightening will probably stay in the foothills, but considering the storm we had a week ago, anything is possible.
-
But by Wednesday or Thursday the warm dry weather is expected to return.
-
Which is good since this weekend is the finale of Seattle's Seafair Festival.
-
My new phone arrived today.
-
I managed to activate it and to transfer all of my phone numbers, but I have a lot to learn with this hummer.
-
Hopefully I will know enough to use the phone in Vegas next week.
-
I do kind of miss Siri, but I am sure there must be something, or someone, similar.
-
Sandy is trying to find a way for us to take a day trip over to the Grand Canyon.
-
Apparently it is on his bucket list.
-
I guess it is about a three hour drive, each way.
-
I am not sure how I feel about six hours on a bus.
-
But this trip is about Sandy, so I guess we will work something out.
-
One more post.
-
5ive!
-
Well, it is me and 0 Guests.
-
I have bored them all into oblivion.
-
My sister dropped by today and brought me a bowl of her homemade potato salad.
-
It! Was! Wonderful!!
-
I was so afraid that I would miss the FedEx guy with my phone today, that I didn't even turn the television on until after it was delivered.
-
We had a tragic murder of three young people over the weekend.
-
It took place in the town of Mukilteo, which is about a half hour north of Seattle.
-
Very sad. Apparently the alleged shooter was the former boyfriend of the girl that was killed.
-
Had a mostly good rehearsal (naturally the new singer who hasn't been with us before was completely unprepared - she's been told to know everything by Thursday). Then I had the usual no-calorie salad, now I'm just doing stuff on the computer.
-
The shooter said the girl was his "dream girl." So much for his dreams.
-
But this trip is about Sandy, so I guess we will work something out.
I hope you can go with him.
-
My sister dropped by today and brought me a bowl of her homemade potato salad.
Now I want some.
Smart move.
I keep falling asleep.
'night
-
Good night, Jane.
Hello, 1 Guest!
-
My new staff member started today. So far, things are going well.
We had someone join our team today, too. Orientation takes three days, so he doesn't actually join the team until Thursday.
Our New Employee Orientation is only one day. And it's happening Wednesday. However, it doesn't always happen right when a person is hired. They need to have a minimum number of people to do the training, so she lucked out and won't have to wait until next month.
-
New employee orientation is one part of my job that I don't miss.
-
Midnight!
-
My new staff member started today. So far, things are going well.
Vibes they continue to go well!
Thanks, Jane! I'm sure she'll be fine. She's seems to be pretty quick at picking things up and paying attention. That's half the battle. :)
-
Midnight!
Not a sound from the pavement!
I have that recording, also. But what I don't like about it is that it's so short! It's only about 30 minutes or so.
-
So, George, are you still losing weight?
-
Midnight!
Not a sound from the pavement!
Has the moon lost her memory?
-
So, George, are you still losing weight?
I've kind of plateaued after about 35 pounds, but I haven't gained any back.
-
My new phone arrived today.
Congrats! Hope it's everything you need and want it to be!
-
I actually ordered a smart watch a couple of weeks ago and it arrived today! It's made to pair with my new LG G5 phone, and it worked when I was at work. I had charged it and it showed that it had 100% power, but when I went to eat (only a couple of hours later), the battery was totally drained! It's second hand (but like new) from an Amazon marketplace seller, so if it really craps out that quickly, I can send it back without much trouble...but I'd have to pay for shipping back. That's the only problem with returns. :P
That's a bummer.
I'm sure most smart watches are like this, but what's really cool about it is that you can change the watch display with just a couple of taps! I don't have any links to the kind that I have, but they're pretty cool. :)
Yup. I'm charging it up now, so I'll check the power level when I get back up to my bedroom. And then I'll check it again in the morning.
Thank you. So far, the sound quality seems a lot better.
