Well, you've read the notes, the notes are counting down, and now it is time for you to post until the counting down cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BLANDISHMENT!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
And now - TCB on the bed slats.
-
T.O.D.
TIME AFTER TIME
THE TIME MACHINE (the original)
-
I could watch either of those films over and over again.
-
Hello, I must be going!

Ditto and ditto.

You came to say
You must be going.

Good morning to all

-
Somewhere in Time
Back to the future trilogy
Time Bandits
Kate and Leopold
Time after time
Does Groundhog Day count?

Good morning, all!
-
I'm feeling lazy. If I didn't have to meet with my colleague on Guys and Dolls in a couple of hours, I'd still be in bed, lazing away.
-
After I turn over Act One, I can begin Act Two.
-
I never liked Somewhere In Time; I always feit it was a ripoff of Jack Finney's fantastic novel Time and Again. And why has no one ever made a film of Time And Again?
My favorite films are Time After Time and The Time Machine. I didn't dislike the remake, which I saw with Charlotte, but the George Pal Morlocks are real nightmares.
-
Vibes for MR BK....only 24 hours away from the meeting with Miss Hayley Mills.
-
Continued health vibes for DR VIXMOM and DR RLP.
-
Hopefully I will get another BIG LAUGH tonight!
Congrats to DR JANE on her millstone.

TOD:
Time After Time
World Without End
About Time
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am most definitely lazing about this morning.
-
Today's supposed to be the hottest day yet in this heat wave.
-
Congrats to Jane on your 70,000th post!!!
-
I'm going back to see ZORBA tonight, where it will probably be 80 degrees or more at the start. I do not envy cast, crew, and band working in that, but I shall shamelessly enjoy it just fine as an audience member.
-
BIG LAUGH vibes for DR Jrand65 tonight!
-
Continuing GD vibes for DR Elmore!
-
Saturday morning greetings! It's a stay-at-home and putter day for me, which is fine considering the heat, humidity, and predicted storms.
-
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his new computer. My biggest problem with Windows 10 on my new machine - is that I had to buy MicroSoft Office again and that my printer was NOT compatible.
Also many small programs that I use were NOT compatible with TEN, so I had to look for others.
HP has also stopped using/offering LIGHTSCRIBE which is the program I used to print photos on the front of a DVD or CD....I have my old LIGHTSCRIBE external drive, but it isn't working very well. My previous HP computer had LS installed and the CD/DVD drive was also a burner.
-
Enjoy the show DR CHAS SMITH!

Also...nice records DR CHAS SMITH.
-
TOD:
I'm going to include It's a Wonderful Life and The Family Man even though they don't exactly follow the topic.
Back to the Future
Somewhere in Time
Kate and Leopold

The Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT, is a stone;s throw from the Nathan Hale School house. O [assed it a million times on my way to the post office.
-
I should go to Goodspeed. But right now I'm just not inspired to traipse out there to see their re-imagined BIRDIEs, etc.
-
Good morning.
-
DR TCB I am sorry I missed you last night. Welcome home and thanks for the congratulations.
I attempted a quick peek to check on you and I couldn't reload the page to read anything after my last post. Then I fell asleep.
-
Today's high is supposed to be 93 degrees. It will be a hot walk this afternoon. We had an errand to do this morning and we passed more early morning walkers than usual.
I need to get moving on a project before Keith gets home. I have already lost a couple of hours I had expected to have this morning and then be done with it by now.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I guess I got close to eight hours of sleep. I ended up finishing the movie and going to bed at three.
-
Yes welcome home to DR TCB.
-

Thanks, Jrand! I also have a LOT of small programs that are probably not compatible with Windows 10, so I plan to keep my old computer and get a KVM switch. It's a box that you can hook up two computers to the same Keyboard, Video monitor and Mouse. I can just switch back and forth between my old computer (where I can keep all my old programs) and the new computer (which will have access to the Internet) and not have to try and find new versions of programs, especially the Microsoft Office suite. :D
-
I also don't know if my printer is Windows 10 compatible, so I can keep that hooked up to my old computer, too.
-
Well, I must be off. I'm going to my parents' for an early dinner and family visiting.
Have a good day, all!
-
Jason came abd took away the Act One GUYS & DOLLS edits. I think it's looking quite good.
-
This is so heartbreaking. This poor child and his family.

Whew....DR GEORGE that's much more hardware than I have room for....LOL
-
Such a sad article DR ELMORE......
-
I shall now be on my way to the third - and sold out - performance of 1776.
-
Such a sad article DR ELMORE......
That poor child, my heart breaks for his family.
-
Vibes for DR Vixmom. Feel better!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Page two? Really?
-
Had some chicken tenders - hadn't done that in a very long time and needed a change of pace and they're under 1000 calories so I did it.
-
I am looking forward to watching the Swimming finals on the Olympics tonight.
-
Woo! Page 2?
-
I just watched one of the silliest "Midsomer Murders" episodes. Four murders, yet the over-all tone was light and a bit frivolous. I like this series because it, like "Law and Order" when it was at its best, had episodes that ran the gamut from rather frivolous to utter despair.
-
Im thinking I may watch the original BBC "Cold Comfort Farm" from 1970 or so now. It's maybe my favorite humorous novel based on the thesis of the consequences of setting a practical Jane Austen heroine into heaving, seething D.H. Lawrence or Thomas Hardy territory.
-
Tomorrow I must go to market. i need apples.
-
And ice cream.
-
Has anyone read "The Bookman's Take"? I may start that tonight. Or "Forever Amber."
-
Will this take us to page 3?
-
Bingo!
-
My work is done.
-
DR elmre do you mean "The Bookman's Wake" vs "Take"?
-
There is also "The Bookman's Tale".
I read "Wake" but don't remember anything about it.
-
Kenny Baker, the actor you may affectionately know as R2-D2 in the Star Wars Saga, has passed away
http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/13/entertainment/actor-kenny-baker-dies/
-
I ended up sleeping away most of today
-

The Bookman's Tale.
-
Back from ZORBA, and just let me try to tell you how hot and humid it was out there.
But I really feel for the actors and musicians, who got through it damned well.
-
Tomorrow's closing matinee, though? It's going to be murder. They're going to bring in fans to put along the sides of the (shed?) (barn?) (pavilion?) in an attempt to keep the overflow audience from expiring.
-
Continuing GD vibes for DR Elmore!
Watch your phraseology!
-
Good evening!
-
I have been totally zonked out today.
-
I don't really know why, either.
-
Of course, I don't know why we are on page 3, either.
-
I really slept pretty well in Vegas.
-
I got 6 or 7 hours every night.
-
I got 6 or 7 hours every night.
That would be considered a coma by Jane.
-

Yes welcome home to DR TCB.
Thanks, Jrand.
-
Jrand, break a leg on the rest of your run.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I guess I got close to eight hours of sleep. I ended up finishing the movie and going to bed at three.
Which movie?
-
Nicky is not feeling very well.
-
He is not eating much of his canned food.
-
When I called Betzy from Vegas, she said that he wasn't eating all of his food.
-
I know I didn't leave him his favorite foods.
-
The Safeway store had a sale on his Fancy Feast, so when I went to buy food for him while I was gone, the choices were not great.
-
Also, the vet who did Nicky's procedure said that she recommended the canned foods, but preferred that they eat beef and chicken rather than fish.
-
Well, guess what kind of food Nicky has been eating all of his life.
-
So, I left a lot of the beef and liver (apologies, Jane) for Nicky, as well.
-
Page Four
-
Vixmom, how are you feeling?
-
I have been praying for you.
-
Anyway, the vet didn't bother to tell Nicky about the switch to beef and chicken.
-
These changes in his food, as well as my being gone, were what I thought might be the problem.
-
This afternoon I gave him a dinner I thought he would like, but he only ate about a third of it.
-
Part of the problem may be the heat.
-
The temperature was up to 90 degrees again today.
-
It was warm in the apartment today.
-
I have the A/C on in the bedroom, but Nicky isn't crazy about the noise.
-
Although this evening, he is sleeping in here on his bed, so I guess he realized the advantages of A/C regardless of the noise.
-
I'll check in the morning and see if he ate any more of his dinner after the house cools off.
-
If he still isn't eating tomorrow, I guess he will go to the vet on Monday, regardless of his love of traveling.
-
The only 24 hour vet in town demands $1,000.00 up front before they will even exam the animal.
-
Naturally, if it was an emergency, I wouldn't flinch at spending the $1,000.
-
I didn't eat that much today either.
-
Dinner was cheese and crackers.
-
That was all that sounded good to me.
-
When it gets to be above 90 degrees, the apartment, except the bedroom, just retains the heat all night long and into the morning.
-
The bedroom becomes grand central during hot spells like the one we are currently having.
-
Even the bathroom feels like I left the heat on in there.
-
I can't believe that I forgot to buy ice cream when I went to the store today.
-
I thought about it on the drive there, but went blank at the store.
-
A list? Make a list? What's a list?
-
I am thinking that I probably didn't sleep well last night because of the heat.
-
I turned off the A/C at about ten o'clock last night.
-
I probably should have just left it on with the timer set to turn it off.
-
The older I get, the more claustrophobic I become.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I finished my diagrams, I did a jog, I've been e-mailing back and forth, came up with a really good idea for the benefit show and am now listening to music and relaxing.
-
Page Five!!

Last week on Penn and Teller's FOOL US, they had an illusionist / escape artist perform. His assistant shackled him into three sets of handcuffs, plus hoot shackles and then put him into a front loading washing machine.
-
This was not one of the modern larger size front loaders, but this was more like the kind you see in laundromats.
-
I have had terrible nightmares about the illusion.
-
Oh yes, they also added water and soap into the washing machine.
-
I get shivers just remembering the escape.
-
There was a similar trick in the Penn and Teller show the other night.
-
Well it wasn't an escape like the washing machine, but it still freaked me out.
-
Before the show started there was a box and a barrel up on the stage, and audience members were invited to come up onstage and examine the two props.
-
The barrel had about eight or ten metal rods sticking through it.
-
About half way through the show, the barrel was set on stage, and Penn started talking over the speaker system about the barrel.
-
Suddenly, one by one the metal rods came sliding out of the barrel onto the stage, and then Penn pops out of the barrel.
-
You have to remember that Penn is six feet, seven inches tall.
-
Trust me, I had nightmares about that on Tuesday night.
-
There is also "The Bookman's Tale".
DR elmore this looked more like something you would read :)
-
I ended up sleeping away most of today
Good.

My sister told me about this, this afternoon.

I got 6 or 7 hours every night.

;D
Our pets were not vegetarians.

Although this evening, he is sleeping in here on his bed, so I guess he realized the advantages of A/C regardless of the noise.
And enjoying having you home.

We watched that last night. I meant to comment on it but I fell asleep. Equally amazing was his ability to fit into the front loading washer and later to climb out of it. Watching him go through the wash cycle was interesting as well. :D
-
I have had terrible nightmares about the illusion.
I can believe it, Keith didn'the want to watch it-lol
-
Trust me, I had nightmares about that on Tuesday night.
I didn't like that one.

Will Mr. Sherman be at lunch, as well?

Yes, he will be.
