Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fried, and now it is time for you to post until the fried cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PANOPTIC!
-
Well, I'm back from seeing "Florence Foster Jenkins," and then went to Applebee's for dinner. I'm now home, have checked my e-mails, and watched last night's episode of "Another Period."
-
Well, George, what is your review?
-
"Florence Foster Jenkins" was very good! I agree with everything that Larry said last night. Highly recommended.
-
BK, I am sorry to read about your confounded confusing computer crisis?
-

Does Hugh Grant play my character?
-
The acting was very good. The costumes were wonderful. The one thing I noticed was that EVERY car, even the cabs, were all shiny and clean and waxed. I didn't notice a single dirty car in the entire movie.
-
Spoiler alert: at the end of the movie, they had her sing beautifully in her mind. Meryl Streep sang it very well.

Does Hugh Grant play my character?
Yes, he played her husband, but he was living with his girlfriend.
-
Did George go to bed? I guess he did.
-
Did George go to bed? I guess he did.
Not just yet...soon, though. ;)
-
Well, I guess I should head off to bed myself.
-
Oh, okay. Good night then, George.
-
Last evening, I thought that "Florence Foster Jenkins" was playing at the Capitol Mall cinemas, but fortunately I spoke with Margo before I left work and she told me that it was at the Regal Cinemas in Lacey. Whew! Disaster averted!
-
Oh, okay. Good night then, George.
Good night, Tom.
-
I'm off now, too.

Which theater is closer for you?

Capitol Mall, but it's not much farther...just a few miles more on the freeway, but closer to the freeway exit.
-
First morning post?
-
Thanks to Larry and George for the movie reports!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I couldn't have gotten more than five hours sleep. Didn't even start falling asleep till 1:30 in the a.m., and was fully awake by 6:45.
-
So here I am, in the recliner, feeling sleepy and yet not really. Yuck.

TOD:
I've had a few bad computer experiences, but the grand prize winner is that last one, with the water dripping into the laptop sitting on my desk. The good news was that the hard drive was fine, and it was removed for me and given a case with a USB connector so I could easily transfer stuff to a new computer. But the initial couple of days, prior to having the replacement and the hard drive accessible, were hell. Not to mention dealing with the source of the dripping water. Oy!
-
Some drizzly rain this morning has already foiled plans for any outdoors work. Maybe this afternoon.
-
Coffee!

Good.

Good morning.

Spoiler alert: at the end of the movie, they had her sing beautifully in her mind. Meryl Streep sang it very well.
They did the same in the play Souvenir that played on Broadway with Judy Kaye. The Cosmo charater (the pianist and the only other character in the play) wondered what she was hearing in her head when she sang. I knew how beautifullly Judy Kaye could sing and it was interesting to hear and see the reactions of the people around me afterwards. I got to see her after the show and told her the other people's reactions when she sang Ava Maria. She told me see got a lot of that.

Good morning, all!

This morning I shall finish up the 3rd edit notes on GUYS & DOLLS Act One, and call it quits! Back to Act Two.
-
My big computer nightmare was the one I had before I was given this one last September. The last one crashed twice in its seventh and eighth years, but the one in December 2014 resulted in the loss of two much that were luckily backed up on hard drive.
-
This morning, I'll wander up to the pharmacy for a few items, I have no major plans.
-
TOD:
Thank God, nothing even close to BK's experience.

That is a nice story Michael.

I slept better than I expected to a different much better than Keith did. His alarm woke me at 4:45 and mine got me up at 5:00. I had just enough time to finish reading my book.

Travel vibes to Jane!
Thank you. We board in about 15 minutes.

Thursday morning greetings! We're home today getting ready for the book group potluck dinner tonight. I know we're having Honey Baked ham and turkey, but have no idea what the others are bringing to go with it. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be good and we'll have fun. We're watching ROOM after having read the book.

I haven't had any bad computer scares, thank goodness. But I've had some annoyances. Like when the hard drive on my last computer was starting to fail, so I bought a new computer and the technician specifically asked if I wanted to have everything from the old drive copied to the new one, and I said "no" because I had a backup. But I really needed to make a new backup, which I planned to do right away. Well, of course, the old hard drive completely failed before I got a chance. The tech was still able to copy everything over, but what he had offered to originally do for free while the drive was still working now cost me $160 because it was now a separate service.

DR Jane must have boarded the plane before I got here to send my travel vibes. Wave when you fly over Ohio!

Travel vibes for DR JANE & KEITH.

I can't get that link to open DR GINNY, but it might be my computer.
-
So sorry to read about MR BK's computer machine woes.....
I have had a few....of course, I usually just buy a new computer....that is how I ended up with WINDOWS 10 this time.
Dealing with the latest "script errors" was most irritating, but changing my homepage seems to have worked.
-
I can't get that link to open DR GINNY, but it might be my computer.
Sorry, DR JRand, I fixed it! It wasn't your computer, just a copy & paste error on my part.
-
Ah.....nice article.
-
I think the article is more interesting than the movie is going to be.
Thanks to DR GEORGE and DR ELMORE for their FFJ movie reports.
-
It isn't showing at my LOCAL cinema, so I may not see it until DVD.

DR Ginny, I need a 1973 Middletown City Directory. Any sitting around waiting for your book sale?

I doubt it and it's all boxed up in a storage unit over on Carmody Blvd., anyway. if you'd like to send me a list of what you need to know, I'd be glad to research it for you in the local history room at the public library.

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep, I think.

Good morning.

The play that TCB was in did not have that kind of an ending.

Darn! :-\ The 128 GB memory card for my tablet bit the dust last month and I lost everything on that...mostly photos from a couple of shows that I worked tech, some videos that I had downloaded from YouTube, and some apps that I had to reinstall. I took it to a local computer place and the guy said that if they were able to retrieve data from the crapped out memory card, it would cost $400! :o However, if they couldn't, it would only cost $50 for them to try. He also said that only about 2% of memory cards are retrievable, so basically (if I wanted), I would be paying them $50 to tell me that they couldn't do it.

Travel vibes for DR JANE & KEITH.

-
Exactly like that.
-
Umm....... :-\
::)
-
Thank you for the travel vibes. We landed in Toronto and immediately boarded our flight to Athens. We should be taking off soon.
-
Great news DR JANE.
I shall now be on way to Performance Number Five of Seven of Seventeen Seventy Six.
-
Had a pastrami sandwich for my main meal. Doug Haverty recommended a computer place that deals with Macs and I spoke to them and I think that it will be a lot less hassle than the Mac store and probably cheaper, too, so I'll be taking it in in the morning.
-
Desktop is powered off and unplugged so it can't do another update. We hope the one it did prior to the problem will be fine, although I'll probably restore from a back-up in the early morning just to be safe.
-
Dealing with more Guys & Dolls issues than expected today. All good, but a lot.
-
Be careful, Larry. A person can catch a cold.
-
Well, I must be off. I'm working concessions for the free Wonderful Wurlitzer! (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/upcoming-events/2016/8/18/wonderful-wurlitzer.html) concert at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. I'm sure it'll be very good!
Be back later.
-
One post in two hours? I don't think so.
-
Good evening, all.
-
It's been a long, been a long, been a long day.
-
I did manage to listen to Barbra's new album while working.
-
I enjoyed her voice and her selections, but it was overproduced to me. I'd rather have the edgy, raw quality of her earlier albums.
-
I also missed Fifty Percent, which I thought she was including. Or was the npr cast just selections from the album?
-
I have not exercised all week. I feel like a lump. I think I need to go take a walk at least.
-
Hello, 0 guests.
-
Can you tell us why we're still on page 3?
-
Ron, that video at the top of this page is disturbing.
-
Very disturbing.
-
Where's Divine when you need her?
-
The reviews for Groundhog Day in London weren't merely reviews. They were Valentines. THey make me want to see it.

Here's Barbra and Antonio Banderas on Take Me to the World

Page 3? Really?
-
Well, let's move a mountain
-
And get off this page.
-
What does it take?
-
Just one more.
-
Four!
-
Where is everybody tonight?
-
The party's on the house.
-
Although there ain't no bloomin' house.
-
A quote from Half a Sixpence
-
Which is better than half-a-farthing.
-
I hear that show's been revived in England.
-
I'd like to see it without Tommy Steele.
-
Hello, 1 guest.
-
Which performers are hard for you to watch?
-
Cranberries.
-
Gratuitous post No. 101
-
underpants!
-
Page 4? Really?
-
Really?
-
there must be an echo in here.
-
Where have all the posters gone
-
long time passing
-
i should be reading my Balzac
-
or sleeping
-
I cheated tonight and got Mom, Dad and me ice cream from McDonald's.
-
Somehow it forced Dad's blood sugar down.
-
How does it do that?
-
Made a good lemon-roasted salmon for lunch today.
-
Very simple. You cover the fish in lemon juice, salt, pepper, olive oil and garlic. Bake for 10 minutes or so at 400 degrees.
-
What is it, fish?
-
Indeed, it was.
-
We watched the olympics tonight.
-
No mention made of Ryan Lochte's troubles with the police.
-
Ugly story.
-
Five!
-
And I am outta here.
-
Good night, all.
-
Wow, I guess everyone has deserted the joint. This is probably not the week to do that. I am not so happy right now and won't be happy until I know my computer can restore properly.
-
So, a frenzy would be a good thing right about now.
-
Good evening!
-
A frenzy?
-
We are already on page five.
-
And it isn't even ten o'clock.
-
I am quite sure I can get us to page six.
-
Unless I experience a computer meltdown.
-
Which would make me very unhappy.
-
Today was a nice day.
-
My friend, Diane, took me out for a late lunch / early dinner.
-
I had a filet mignon with a baked potato and veggies.
-
They threw in a free chocolate truffle something for my birthday.
-
It was all very good.
-
Well, the steak was a little dry, but it had good flavor.
-
And the baked potato was huge.
-
Tomorrow my friend, Ken, is taking me out for lunch.
-
I think we are going to a casino up north of Bremerton.
-
It seems a long way to go for lunch, but he is driving.
-
This is the same casino (I think) where he won a brand-new car last month.
-
I feel really full from tonight's dinner that the thought of food doesn't really sound that good at the moment.
-
I am sure I will be hungry by tomorrow at noon.
-
If I am going to survive this birthday without gaining a lot of weight, I had better watch what I order.
-
Saturday and Sunday are the only days I don't have lunch plans for the next week.
-
Of course it is going to be hotter than Hades on Saturday, so who wants to eat then.
-
I think they are predicting it will be mid-nineties on Saturday.
-
At least on Sunday it is supposed to cool down into the eighties.
-

-
Hello, 2 Guests!
-
What flavor ice cream do you like?
-
I can't believe it. I bought some ice cream on Monday and I still haven't opened it.
-
Tonight will not be the night.
-
Travel vibes to DR Jane and DH Keith.
-
No Vixmom tonight?
-
I hope she is feeling okay.
-
I imagine she is just really tired.
-
I also missed Fifty Percent, which I thought she was including. Or was the npr cast just selections from the album?
I don't think I understood this post, John.

http://www.broadwayworld.com/videoplay/STAGE-TUBE-Barbra-Stresand-Duets-With-Antonio-Banderes-on-TAKE-ME-TO-THE-WORLD-20160818
I will need to listen to this tomorrow on my other computer.
-
Which performers are hard for you to watch?
That is a very good question. I think I will have to think about that for a while.
-
I decided not to audition for DRACULA.
-
I am not in the mood to start rehearsals in early September.
-
Although, auditions for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE are in late September; they won't start rehearsals until October.
-
I had to correct that previous post. I typed that we won't start rehearsals until October.
-
I haven't even auditioned yet, let alone been cast. Ego! Ego! Ego!
-

Be back later.
It was very good. The woman who played the organ for this concert was funny and she sang some songs while she played the organ. There was no intermission, so the concessions was pre-show only, which meant not a lot of sales. But that's how it goes.
-

That was interesting...in a good way. Some unexpected intervals, but they both sound pretty good.
-
This is the same casino (I think) where he won a brand-new car last month.
Wow! Congrats to Ken!
