Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both high and low, and now it is time for you to post until the high and low cows come home.

I was so sleepy last night that I went to bed around 8:30.  I slept pretty well, although the 5:30 alarm clock was still distressing.

At 7:30 I will be outa here.  I have to be at 23rd and 5th Avenue by 8:45.  I have no idea how bad the traffic around 23rd Street will be.  I also have no idea how I will be getting back with some of 23rd Street blocked off.  Traffic will also be dreadful since President Obama will be in town  for the UN.

I loved licorice from the youngest age I can remember, but I seem to rarely think about it these days.

Black, mainly, for me, thanks, but I wouldn't say no to the red variety I remember.  (I guess it's cherry?)  Now, here's the question.  Did I ever have the chocolate?  I don't know!

I hate to think of what other flavors they've come up with over the years.

So, Twizzlers are now a Hershey-owned product line.

I wonder why the chocolate is not so readily found.  I shall check out the lay of the land here re Twizzlers when I'm at an appropriate store.

If it's here, I'll try it.  But I will for sure pick myself up some black and red.

Well, gang, that's all I got this morning.

I love most licorice, but I especially love these very bitter licorice candies from Italy that are sold in tins like Altoids. Dark with only the natural sugar of the licorice root, they're like licorice on steroids. That said, I really dislike the mint version. Mint and licorice don't mix successfully, IMO.

Monday morning greetings!  Sneaked on earlier to wish DR Elmore a happy birthday, but this is my "official" start to my HHW day.  After last week's busy-ness, including yesterday's trip to Cincinnati with Sharon, I'm looking forward to a much calmer week and am starting very slowly today.

First task:  balancing my checkbook and Mom's.

I like both red licorice and black licorice, although I guess I prefer red. I don't think I've ever had chocolate licorice. There's a little mom-n-pop store in Carmel, up in Northern California, that sells about 20 different flavors of licorice. (They actually have a town ordinance that forbids any chain stores from moving in there, so all the stores there are mom-n-pop stores. The town retains its quaintness and charm that way.) Anyway, my dad always takes me and my sisters there when we visit and tries to get us to pick out something interesting, but for some reason, none of their flavors have ever enticed us. Instead, I usually get one of their gigantic dark chocolate peanut butter cups.

My trip downtown was an easy one and I was there in 40 minutes.  it was getting home that was hell.  the 23rd Street crosstown bus makes a detour at Fifth Avenue down to 14th Street, crosses to 8th Avenue and then returns to 23rd Streey.  It took me 90 minutes to get home.

I like the story that Charmian Carr told in her book about residuals.....

Each time it was on television, Charmian and Darlene got identical checks for their work!

Thought I had posted when I got up, but I guess not - that's because the second I got up after seven hours of sleep, it's been one thing after another.  Then I had a chili, cheese, and onion omelet and an English muffin, then picked up a couple of packages.  When I got back here I dove into the Unsung Sherman Brothers project - doing the track listing and beginning those notes.  So now I'm working on three sets of liner notes at once, but these are FUN.

Can hardly wait.

I sent all my tax documents off to my accountant today. Yay!

I'd like to think I don't have to do it again for another year, but I know I'll want to start some of it early. I usually do that, but life somehow intervenes.

Double yay!

My copy arrived today, too!  I listened to it (and thoroughly enjoyed it) and now, I'm listening to The Trotter Trio's "The Michel Legrand Album," which also just arrived today. ;D

DR George,  it was fun to read about your evening, especially since you finally met Sharry & Micheal in person when we stopped last in Tacoma☺

Thanks, Jane!  She was just as outgoing and friendly as ever...I can't imagine that she was ever timid. ;)

Timid, no  :D

Lordy, I haven't stopped today.  But that's a good thing.  I switched up two songs in the Kritzerland show because Stephen Flaherty got me a Little Dancer song and I loved it so we're doing that - so I threw out a duet and found one other solo for the male.

I wrote the liner notes to the Unsung Sherman Brothers CD - good to have them out of the way - also did the track listing, although Richard has found a cassette tape that has three additional songs from one of the projects - I have no way of transferring that to CD unfortunately and will have to find someone who can.  There used to be a place two seconds from here but they're out of business.  I guess I should have left my cassette player hooked up.  Irritating.

My sister's boyfriend can do that, but of course, he's here in Olympia.  Hopefully, you can find someone good!

I don't know if you still have a Radio Shack in California, but that's where one used to be able to find equipment no longer in the market, like 8-track players, etc.

I still have a couple of pieces of licorice I purchased in Dubrovnik.  It is the small pieces of black licorice with a candy filling.

Every once in awhile I buy Panda all natural licorice.  It has a nice strong flavor.

I think the best twisted rope licorice, red or black, was Allen Wertz.  Sadly that too is gone.

I have had some excellent red licorice from Australia.  I don't care for smooth red licorice unless it is the think kind and since I usually find the smooth version from Australia I don't buy it very often.

Thin red licorice.  I haven't had this in years.

I bought on Amazon a portable USB cassette player thing that can be used with Garageband the same way we did the vinyl transfer.  It will be here tomorrow and I can transfer easily to the computer.

John is that the original A TASTE OF HONEY with Rita Tushingham?  Or did they remake it when I wasn't looking?
