Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of pretzels, and now it is time for you to post until the pretzelesque cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PRELAPSARIAN!
-
First post after BK!
-
New perks are up!
-
Tom, last night, instead of the breakfast burritos that ChasSmith mentioned, I got some Boca burgers and Boca Chik'n patties.
-
I have never had the patties. I intensely dislike Becca burgers.
-
Did Jane read the notes?
-
A former dear reader made me eat a fershluganah Boca burger - totally grotesque.

I've had them before (but it's been quite a while) and I liked them. I've never had the chik'n patties, but I have some cheese and an opened jar of spaghetti sauce that I need to use...and I figured that they could used for a poor man's chicken parmesan. ;)
-
And now, to bed. 8)
-
Good night!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I just sneezed.
-
Crazy dreams, in which I created a couple of interesting geographical locations near here while everything going on in them was completely absurd. But interesting.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I could not get to sleep until nearly 3:00am.
-
I hope I can stay awake at City Center today. Joshie called me yesterday about a quagmire in "Getting To Know You" that I suspect was merely a panic attack. His work is quite excellent.
-
He has a commitment at 2:30, so it will not be a long day at City Center.
-
Last night I turned the TV on to drift off to sleep by, and caught this 1963 travelogue short on TCM called "Stopover in Hollywood". These things are always a hoot, often execrable, but usually invaluable for their brief capture of a time and place.
BK has probably seen this one a million times, I know I have a few times, but I mention it anyway because its all too brief shots of "Hollywood" (which here might as well mean all of Southern California) are priceless, especially a quick pan across Grauman's Chinese during the roadshow engagement of WEST SIDE STORY. A glimpse of Marineland when it was practically a glamour spot in some aspects is equally compelling.
There were a few other good ones, and it's well worth the sixteen minutes of "storytelling" and narration dreck to see these glimpses of a magical past.
-
We watched 2 of the new TV series last night.
1. DESIGNATED SURVIVOR, which we liked. It's well done. However, if it's a success, I'm not quite sure how long they can sustain the basic premise before it becomes another THE WEST WING.
2. BULL, which was a mess. Too busy, too boring, too unbelievable. This one will fade fast.
-
A former dear reader made me eat a fershluganah Boca burger - totally grotesque.
Nasty. Just nasty.
-
And good morning, all.
May your morning be Boca burger-free.
-
I just sneezed.
Gesundheit.
-
TOD:
I love Chex mix, especially the homemade variety with extra butter and some heat.
Anything salty
Wasabi peas
Pretzels (esp. Chocolate-covered)
Chicken in a Biscuit, which I enjoyed Saturday in between margaritas
-
I just sneezed.
Gesundheit.
Or, as we say down south, "Scat!"
-
Thursday morning greetings! Richard and I enjoyed hearing Susan Eisenhower speak about "strategic leadership" last night. Her lecture was part of the same series in which DR Elmore spoke last October. Next month's speaker is David McCullough.

McCullough should be fascinating right before the election.
-

Completely.
-
Did Jane read the notes?
Not when I was trying to go back to sleep. I have now.
;D

I was never sure if I liked being compared to a stick 😊
-
After a restless night I slept very late, until 8:00. I still need to get up.
-
I was never sure if I liked being compared to a stick 😊
Even if it was a stick of "dy-no-mite?"
-
http://www.playbill.com/article/merrily-we-roll-along-documentary-will-hit-cinemas-in-november
Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened is a movie I really want to see. I know Elmore's not a big Lonny Price fan, but the preview here really got me hooked.
-
And here, apropos of completely nothing that has been said heretofore, is the "Madam Bovary Waltz (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51M4sbxfKWc) danced by Louis Jourdan and Jennifer Jones, filmed by Vincente Minnelli and scored by Miklos Rozsa...from MGM in 1949!
-
I was never sure if I liked being compared to a stick 😊
Even if it was a stick of "dy-no-mite?"
Much better than that. I never thought that was funny.
-
Last week one of my brothers in law contacted us all and said that he and Molly would be renewing their vows.....tonight.....at my sister's house.
He called her earlier this week to ask her what she planned to serve....what's on the menu?
So....now it is at MY house......been busy all day setting things up....getting the flowers and all the decorations etc....
I don't expect many people.....but ANY number is more than when you are NOT expecting people at your house....
It is a surprise for my sister......I know how she feels.

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.

Follies script is gone and we're at 77%.

Good luck, JRand. I hope all runs smoothly.

Great news.

I live in Boca and would never eat them after trying one

Do you think Mr. Sondheim would sign it if was sent to him with return postage?

I am home from City Center and in need of a nap.

Take one for me, as well.

I just received Sketches on Star Wars (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000150S/) by The Terry Trotter Trio from Amazon. I think I may already own this, though. When I put it in the CD player in my computer here at work, the CD information and all the song titles were filled in, which can only happen when I manually add it. ::)
Oh, well. It's not a horrible thing to have double dipped. ;)

You can try, but I think he's tired and cranky of doing that these days.

Back from a fun lunch at the Smoke House with Doug. I learned a few things. a) I ordered a bowl of clam chowder. Too filling and it gets boring after the cup size, so never again. b) I ordered a Caesar salad - I guess I should have specified dinner size because it was huge and I only ate about half of it. c) I ordered a shrimp cocktail but because they brought everything at once, I waited and couldn't finish that either. I'm stuffed, but thankfully none of what I ate comes near a 1000 calories and I will do some sort of jog later.
-
Thank you all for the birthday wishes yesterday. I was out camping in the woods.
-
Belated Happy Birthday, DR Laura!
-
Page 2?
-
Seriously?
-
I've been listening to the Broadway Cast album of Waitress. I'm enjoying it.
-
Also the recent Broadway revival of She Loves Me. Love it!
-
And of course, Miss Streisand's "Encore."
-
Speaking of whom, she's doing 4 more concerts.
-
November 27th in Houston.
-
November 30th in Tampa.
-
December 3rd in Ft. Lauderdale.
-
December 5th in Miami.
-
And that brings us to Page 3!
-
I do not understand camping in the woods.
-
I will never understand camping in the woods.
-
I wouldn't even understand it in Lithuanian: Aš nesuprantu, kempingas miške
-
I also don't understand page three. Really?
-
Good luck, JRand. I hope all runs smoothly.
DITTO!

I guessed you were on a mountain. I hope you enjoyed your birthday outing.
-
I am currently eating these.
I like the ones with sea salt vs unsalted.
-
Since I never see those anymore I eat the multi grain ones.
-
I don't know, because I haven't looked, if they are low calorie snacks. They are fairly healthy ones.
-
I like these potato chips. Because they also help with motion sickness I buy little bags and carry them with me when we travel, enough for each direction.
I did not need them on the flights with this trip, however, I used one bag after our ferry ride to Hydra.

-
The second bag I took with us I had as a treat over several days this week.
-
These sweet Maui & Onion chips are a nice treat when I can find a small bag of them.
-
And yes, I like pretzels :)
-
I do not like soft pretzels much. The very hard ones are ok but mostly I prefer the standard ones.
-
Jane, I like pretzels ONLY because of my nickname for you. Of course I have no memory of WHY that was my nickname for you.
-
Back from the shorter jog.
-
Page three? Really?
-
DVD arrived today and I just watched EVENING PRIMROSE. Unique and charming.
-
Even though this actually happened this past weekend, it deserves to be preserved (albeit just slightly altered to show the exact millstone/milestone/plateau) to go along with Laura's birthday yesterday:

Nice round number there, DR Laura. And hey, willya get a look at mine! :)

You're pretty close there, ChasSmith!
-
And now, I must be off to the theater. One of the shows had to cancel its rehearsal tonight because one of the actors couldn't get out of something, so we get to get out early tonight. That play will rehearse on Saturday.
Be back later.
-
I guess everyone's out watching MISS SAIGON at their local Bijou.
-

I asked and you said I looked like one, one of these

Well, they're CUTE, and so were you and you still are.
-
BTW, re the signed copies of the Sherman CD - as I mentioned, only you dear readers will be able to get one without purchasing $96.00 is CDs. So, if you want to get a jump on that, you can do the usual advance thing directly to paypal the usual way - just make sure you put in that it's for a signed Unsung Sherman Brothers - if you don't care about signed, then you can get this as part of your Indiegogo perk, but I'm not giving away the signed copies for this.

Sorry to be stupid but it was that kind of day - how much to PayPal for this please, Bruce ?

So I got yo work at 8 started on a lot of issues and at 1o:30 received a call that Mom was being rushed to ER
-
Well, they're CUTE, and so were you and you still are.
Blush, blush. Thank you.
-
To their credit, my coworkers and boss said Go we'll handle everything
-
I watched the film of The Grass Harp tonight. I hadn't seen it in a couple of years, and since I was reading the book again, I dragged it out of the drawers. I like it, good cast and screenplay.
-
Finally got out of ER at 7:30 Mom is ok but rather not post too many details

This is not good news, DR vixmom! I hope she is okay.

Big sigh of relief.
-
Glad to hear Elmore had a great surprise party yesterday
-
I love these thin little pretzels sticks and the Keebler buttery pretzel thins
-
Also ruffles potato chips (ruffles have ridges). Especially with onion dip Homemade onion dip with sour cream and Lipton onion soup mix
-
VIXMOM, SUPER GET WELL VIBES FOR YOUR DEAR MOTHER!
-
We are about to watch Poldark :)

And another dose.

Very sweet and gentle, as I recall.

The Sesame Blues are even better!
-
Watching Fritz Lang's Ministry of Fear. Graham Greene may have hated it, but I think it's wonderful -- except for Marjorie Reynolds. I keep waiting for her to say, "But I'm Linda Mason" and start dancing with Fred Astaire.
-
Vibes for the Mom of vixmom!
-
I've never been really big on pretzels, although when we used to babysit our nephew , we always had plenty of low salt low fat pretzels around because they're great as kids' snacks. I managed to eat a bunch of them too during that time. I always had Cheerio's and pretzels in all my coat pockets and in the car as back up for when the kids needed something. Even at my father's funeral when my nephew and niece started getting fussy, I had handfuls of pretzels in my blazer packet to give them. It took me years to break that habit.
-
vixmom, it's $24 with postage.
-
Just opened the bottom drawer of a bunch of drawers in the kitchen and went on a rampage tossing out huge amounts of stuff. In the process I found some REALLY interesting photos, yet another funny note from my close personal friend, Mr. Stephen Sondheim, but mostly trash, trash, trash. Now it's mostly an empty drawer with a hammer, Saran wrap and aluminum foil wrap.
-
Thanks to all for the vibes it was a most entertaining evening. However I did not know that I was supposed to preside over the vows.....I found out about 10 minutes before said event.....I am glad I have my book ready in case a wedding breaks out......
-
December 3rd in Ft. Lauderdale.
If I had know that I could have waited instead of going to Boston
-
GRRRRRRRRR - PayPal has gone crazy again and is completely different than the last time I used it......I wanted to buy the UNSUNG SHERMAN, but I guess I will have to wait for the link.....I can't figure out how to send the money to Kritzerland or WhiteSheik at AOL.....
Sometimes improvements baffle me.....
-
Now confirmed, our two vocalists for the three songs on Unsung Sherman Brothers that need vocals are Robert Yacko and Lisa Livesay. There will also be a six-person ensemble - I have to find the other five - I'm letting Sami be one of them because a) she deserves it and b) Richard adores her.
-
Great movie. I think I like better every time I see it.
-
Five!
-
That's nice news for Sami.
-
I think I may tackle another unruly drawer.
-
Good night, all.
-
Also ruffles potato chips (ruffles have ridges). Especially with onion dip Homemade onion dip with sour cream and Lipton onion soup mix
I have not had that dip in years. I was capable of eating good an entire batch by myself. Ruffles have never been my favorite chip, though they are better than Lay's.

-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I, on the other hand, am here.
-
I'm listening to scarrrrrry music.
-
Now I'm listening to Elmer Bernstein's The Miracle, speaking of which I could use a few.
-
Good evening!
-
I have returned from watching three one-act plays performed by my friend Sharry and another friend, Carol.
-
Both are very talented actresses, but good acting can't save a bad play.
-
One of the three plays was a real dog, even though it was about cats.
-
One of the other two plays was very good, and the other one needed some work.
-
Well, let's have some posts then.
-
I saw Jed tonight. He has lost 50 pounds.
-
It makes him look much younger.
-
Now he looks too young to be my son.
-
Or maybe I just look too old to be his father.
-
I don't remember how to send the money for CD's through PayPal or who to send it
-
Time to change computers.
-
And now, I must be off to the theater. One of the shows had to cancel its rehearsal tonight because one of the actors couldn't get out of something, so we get to get out early tonight. That play will rehearse on Saturday.
Be back later.
I'm home and fed and making a DVD of "The Great Race" for my dad. I recorded it from TCM, then recorded it onto my DVD burner from my DVR, and now I'm cutting out the pre- and post-movie stuff from TCM that shouldn't be on the DVD.
-
I saw Jed tonight. He has lost 50 pounds.
That's great! Congrats to Jed! Not to brag, but that's about what I've lost, too. :)
