Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the two Bs, and now it is time for you to post until the Cs aka the cows come home.

I don't think that I've ever had Bosco.  I do like both Nestle's Quik and Hershey's chocolate milk.

I have a little bit of Guys & Dolls work.  I need to look at the Act Two Finale, which uses a chunk of the opening "Runyonland" number, and check the mutes for the brass players..  They are different, and I think they should be the same,
Title: Re: BOSCO AND BRYLCREEM
Post by: ChasSmith on September 28, 2016, 05:07:35 AM
I remember Bosco and I remember Ovaltine.  Were they more or less the same, or was the Bosco exclusively in liquid form and Ovaltine powdered?  I don't know whether we favored one more than the other, but we probably went over to the ubiquitous Hershey's later on.  Nowadays the only such thing I buy once in a blue moon is Fox's U-bet..."the" syrup for making New Yawk Egg Creams.
Title: Re: BOSCO AND BRYLCREEM
Post by: elmore3003 on September 28, 2016, 05:08:52 AM
I liked Bosco, never liked Ovaltine much.  I don't think it ever dissolved completely and i hated chunky chocolate milk.

DR Elmore, those types of questions (the mutes) are fascinating.

Have a wonderful play date.  And if you have any available time sometime tomorrow or Friday, I still intend to get into town.

Oh my.

I did not read it all the way through, however, it seems if you sign the book in person you are only selling the book and would not need to give a certificate with the book, only the buyer would if they sell it again.

Wednesday morning afternoon greetings!  Richard and I were out and about early to attend an open house at the new (pricey) apartment building in Mom's retirement community.  It was a very pre-preliminary look for ourselves.  We have no imminent plans, but thought it would be a good idea to start gathering information.

Question for any of you who are on the castrecl mail list --

Has there been a marked decrease in participation lately, or could there be something wrong with the feed?  I get one email per day with the past day's posts, and over the past few weeks I'm only seeing one or two posts, nothing like what I'm used to.  I just went into my trash folder to double check this, and there was one day with, say, six posts and another day with eight, maybe a week ago, but most of these days now it's just one or two.

But the girls did not put their fingers in my hair.   :D

Last night DR Jane asked if air fryers taste the same.

I've never tasted an air fryer nor, as far as I know, anything prepared in one, BUT the reviews on Amazon were most impressive. If I did a lot of frying I'd definitely think of purchasing one. They only use about a tablespoon of oil. How they do that, I don't know. But it's impressive.

I vaguely recall Bosco and certainly Hershey's. I never used Brylcreem, THAT I'm sure of.

I had my hairs cut today. Then I made a trip to my favorite food store. This afternoon I took a spontaneous nap. Such an exciting day. Can you top that, TCB?

But I am, after all, in a post-taxes letdown. Sooo glad to have it done. Done, at least, until I receive a notice from one of the taxing agencies questioning something and then I shall have to dig through my files again.

Hmmm, I hope the food taste good cooked in them

Most of the reviewers were very satisfied, especially with fried chicken.

Thank you,Jennifer. Color me green with delight.

I just noticed that the green is the same as on your shirt in your profile pic. Hopefully it is one of your favorite colors.

Back from a trip to the mall to get some shoes.  Both my jogging shoes and my regular sneakers were completely shot, so I really needed to get new shoes.  Interestingly, either my feet have grown or as per usual these days, sizes aren't necessarily what they're purported to be.  The pair of everyday sneakers were my usual size 10 but the jogging shoes at size 10 were too damn tight so I got 10.5.  Then I bought a pair of nice shoes to wear for the Kritzerland shows and those two were too snug at 10 so I got 10.5 - those are comfy once you get them ON - getting them on is going to require me buying a shoe horn.  Does anyone still sell shoe horns?

Do shoe stores still give them away?  I just (four days ago) found I have a Bostonian shoehorn from.....well, it has to have been two decades ago.

Back from a three-and-a-half mile jog again.  New shoes are great - much lighter than any jogging shoe I've ever had, but very well cushioned and easy to run in, in fact I went faster than usual.

Apparently the running shoes I got are hugely popular with runners - Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 33.  And guess what - I'm not crazy - in all the reviews, which are stellar, they all say that this iteration of this shoe runs smaller, hence my having to go to a 10.5 makes perfect sense now.

I cleaned out dresser drawers today - tossed tons of old t-shirts and crap - have no idea why I kept that stuff.  So, lots more room now and soon I'll rearrange the sweater drawers - all the Larges are going to the garage - they're just too baggy on me and as I lose more weight it's only going to get worse.

For dinner, I saw my old friend Jay, the theater critic at the paper here. I got to meet his husband, Brian, who is totally unlike Jay but they seem perfect together.

Brian is a vegetarian, so Jay picked a new place that specializes in locally grown, organic vegetable dishes but offers meat on the side.

Every dish we had was really good and a few were outstanding. We had grilled bok Choy, a Greek salad, and a bowl of black beans with corn tortillas. I was the only one who want the beet salad, but it turned out to be everyone's favorite. We also had shrimp-Stuffed fish, Merguez sausage and a buffalo filet, also good. We shared everything, including desserts, the best of which were a lemon tart and chocolate-coconut mousse.

Regarding auditions, TCB: Do you think it changed because they wanted to see who was committed enough to show up a second time?

You may be on to something.

I didn't use Brylcreem either.  My hairstyle growing up normally used Butch Wax.

Really?  What made that wax "butch"?  Did it ride a Harley?

No, it hung its keys on its right side.

Ink is pretty darned expensive.  Would it be cheaper to have it printed at some place like Kinkos?  Granted, you would have to geg yourself there, but as your book gets longer, it's certainly something to consider.
