Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a little schmaltzy, and now it is time for you to post until the schmaltz cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AMPHIBOLY!
-
First post after BK!
-
Second post after BK!
-
Good morning, all!
I have been up since 4:30 since the pain in my leg is keeping me awake.
-
It's nearly 6:00am, so I am heading back to bed.
-
I hate this.
-
Third post after BK!
-
I have not been able to sleep.
-
I should have read or gone in and worked on my book.
-
But instead I played gin rummy and listened to music.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Again, ridiculously early for a Sunday morning.
-
I've been awake since 5:30, maybe earlier. For no good reason at all.
-
Leg vibes for DR Elmore!
-
I have never tried herring...schmaltzy, or any other kind. Or gefilte fish. Someone said I stood a good chance of liking it. But tried it, I have not.
-
Well, a good healthy and relaxing Sunday to all.
And a great Kritzerland show to BK & Co.
-
Show vibes to BK!
-
Good morning.
-
.
And a great Kritzerland show to BK & Co.
Ditto!
-
At 10:30, much as I wanted to stay in bed, I decided to get up and dress. I will not be doing much at all today since I feel like garbage at the moment.
-
There is a Victor Herbert newsletter published once a month by a well-meaning but pathetically misinformed person. The October newsletter has a whole page on the 1903 Babes In Toyland, a show I know more about than anyone living, that completely boggled my mind with its massive amount of misinformation.
-
This newsletter is not what kept me awake. I read it in my emails around 6:00 this morning.
-
Sunday morning greetings! 3/4 of our household is at church and I'm enjoying some solitude. Later this afternoon I have to meet Robin at our friend Katie's house to get ready for tomorrow's Current Events Club meeting. From there I'm going to Dayton for a retirement reception for the man who hired me at Dayton Metro Library in 1997.
-
Here's one example. She writes:
It should be noted that Babes In Toyland was never meant to tour, and when it was forced to do so after only 198
performances, the very first thing to be cut was the "Prologue." It was too long, with too much scenery, and
impossible to stage at every Tom, Dick and Harry sort oftheatre encountered on a national tour.
FACT: Actually, the original production toured with this Prologue to New England in April-May 1904 after closing on Broadway, then broke for the summer. The "Tour," which began in September 1904 was in reality two tours:
1. The A Tour used the full production and toured with most of the original cast and the Prologue. It toured from Sept. 1904 to May 1906!
2. B Tour, the second-class production, cut the Prologue, made other changes to the book and song assignment, and toured with a 20-piece orchestra from Sept. 1904 to April 1906.
The show was meant to tour, as most shows did then, with the billing "Direct From Broadway!" If a show succeeded or failed on Broadway, it could then tour with that billing. The money was made on the road.

After I went back to bed this morning, I dreamed that I was ice skating with Sarah Jessica Parker.
-
I have never had herring, schmaltz or otherwise
-
I hav never had Gefilte fish either
-
It took three tries to get spellcheck to stop writing Gefilte fish as Geri the fish
-
I have never had Geri the fish either though
-
I have no intention of ever having abny of the aforementioned fish either
-
If I can help it
-
I do not wish
To eat a fish
Gefilte, herring or otherwise
I'd rather eat
Some rare cooked meat
Or mushroom top-ped pizza pies
-
I got up at 6:30
-
Folded the clothes that word in the drye and put th stuff in the washer into the dryer
-
Took a shower and washed my hairs
-
Blew dried those hairs put on my make up and church clothes
-

Ironed the church linens
-
Emptied the dishwasher
-

-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Show vibes for BK.
-
Leg vibes for Elmore.
-
Three!
-
Vibes for any and all else.
-
I love herring. I love it grilled. I love it pickled. I love it in cream sauce.
I don't think I care for it in a tin can. But i honestly can't remember.
-
I finished reading a book called Rewind this morning by one Bruce Kimmel. Interesting tale. Wholly fictional, I presume.
-
With that one done, I can get back to volume 2 of Proust.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I do believe I got nine hours of sleep.
-
Put the beef in the crock pot with some red wine and beef stock and onions and some spices
Could you pass the beef with red wine and stock and onions and spices, please? Thanks.
-
Well, I'm not bad (I know, just one man's opinion) --
I just finished the segment of cleaning I started yesterday, sorting through well over a cubic foot of paper, and throwing away (recycled) at least one whole cubic foot of it.
-
I liked the sound of it hitting the bottom of the just-emptied recycling can.
-
I suppose I'll jog in a few minutes.
-
I've moved very little from this computer. I've been on the second edit of the first half of Guys & Dolls Act Two, and ready to tackle "More I Cannot Wish You."
-
Thank you, all, for the leg vibes. I apologize that this will be my major complaint until Oct. 13. After that, if I still complain, it means the injection didn't work and i can't think of that at the moment.
-
For parody purposes, not political, I hope:
The Patty Duke Valley of the Dolls talk yesterday got me to put up a draft of the Patty Duke Show Theme Song parody I was working on. It's about Trump, but in the hopes that won't be taken politically, here's the link to the video
Patty Duke Show Theme parody - But They're Donalds (Identical Donalds)

More leg vibes to Larry!
-
From DR George:
It's been a couple of months since I've ushered. Rita Moreno is coming to the Washington Center the day before "An Improbable Peck of Plays Five" opens, so I can't volunteer.
Sorry. Can you get a ticket?
-
HA!
-
I have never tried herring...schmaltzy, or any other kind. Or gefilte fish. Someone said I stood a good chance of liking it. But tried it, I have not.
I am amazed anyone likes it ;D
-
That was for DR FJL.
-
Show vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
That was for DR FJL.
Thanks!
-
Back from a three-and-a-half mile jog.
-
So... anyone with an iPad or iPhone...
Any reason not to accept and install this update to iOS 10?
-
Shaved and will shortly shower and then be on my way to The Federal.

I'm sure that it's sold out by now (she's here for one night only), but I couldn't go even if I could get a ticket. I'm one of the assistant stage managers for IPoP5, so I'll be at that final rehearsal.
-
Show vibes for MR BK & Co.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
-
I shall now be on my way to The Federal.
-
Break a leg, BK!
-
I just finished the second edits of the first part of Act Two. I am exhausted.
MAJOR VIBES YOU WILL NOT BE COMPLAINING AFTER THE INJECTION!!!
Any reason not to accept and install this update to iOS 10?
A few things were different on my iPhone but so far it is ok. Best of all, it doesn't keep telling me to do it anymore.
While waiting in line to get a drink before watching SULLY, I fortunately decided to put my phone on mute knowing it would be dark in the theater by the time I sat down. I needed my reading glasses to read that I needed to tap on "continue" in order to scroll up for the mute/airplane/etc options. It looks different now, why it needs to I have no idea ;D
-
Enjoy the movie, Jane. And give a report.
-
Starting to watch Chimes at Midnight.
-
Well, I have to go. Tonight we have rehearsal, but I need to go to a couple of stores to see if I can get some cardboard blocks to be used as props for one of the shows. Toys-R-Us and Target sell them on-line, but we'd like to get them sooner than what it would take to gave them shipped. We'll see.
Be back later.
-
We enjoyed the movie. At times it was drawn out, still I was engaged in the movie. My criticism of the film were the calls between Sully & his wife. Had we gone to the IMAX theater to see this I am sure the landing in the Hudson scenes would have been even better than they are.
-
I had a nice day with my mom
-
She wants to buy a new recliner so we did some furniture shopping. But didn't find what she is looking for
-
Then we went to lunch at a little pizza place/ Italian restaurant where we split a meal....
-
Veal topped with ham and mozzarella in a brown mushroom sauce with a ceaser salad and angel hair pasta in a marinara sauce
-
Mom took the salad , I had the pasta and we each had a large piece of veal and sauce.
-
Despite sharing we still couldn't finish and mom ended up wth enough pasta, salad and veal for another meal
-
Then we did a little more shopping before bringing her home
-
When I opened the door upon arriving back At my own home I was greeted with the delicious smell of beef stew.
-
I added some carrots , sliced potatoes and peas and some more beef stock and reduced the heat to warm and let it sit another 2 hours while I did some more laundry
-
We a just finished eating dinner and if I do say so myself, ( and I do) the stew came out really well
-
This was the first time I ever made stew in a crock pot but it won't be the last
-
Regarding "Sully" and truth vs fiction, of course the movie needed a villain where there wasn'the one. The flight scenes are accurate.
-
Another friend went to see Sully and enjoyed it, too.
I just haven't liked many of Clint Eastwood's movies lately. So I am still leaning toward waiting until it hits the library for that one.
-
Surprised to see Lin-Manuel Miranda as part of the SNL skit Political Family Fued.
http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/celebrity-family-feud-political-edition/3108907
Who was the last musical writer ever included in a sketch? I remember Martin Short used to do a hilarious spoof of Irving Caesar, but I doubt many viewers ever understood that one.
-
Hello, 4 guests.
-
What's your favorite way to serve herring?
-
The extras with Chimes at Midnight are really good. Not as good as the movie, but that goes without saying.
One is an interview with Simon Callow, another with Welles' daughter, Beatrice, who played a page in the movie.
-
What's your favorite way to serve herring?
In a crawdad trap.
-
Ha!
-
With a congealed salad, no doubt.
-
Good night, all.
-
Tomorrow, I get to go start a two-day class in tact.
-
I hope I don't end up with a bloodied tongue.
-
Five!
-
Good evening!
-
Happy Rosh Hashanah to all who celebrate.
-
Sandy's mother used to make the very best Gefilte fish I have ever tasted.
-
She used a mix of white fish and salmon.
-
Give me a dish of Gefilte fish served with Matzah with unsalted butter and I was a happy camper.
-
Greetings 0 Guests!
-
Page 5? Really?
-
I didn't work on my book today, because I wanted to wait and see what Betzy had to say about what I had written.
-
I guess she had some problems with her daughter, so her granddaughter was staying with her today.
-
I, of course, am antsy about what she has to think about it.
-
Maybe tomorrow I will just go forward with what I had planned for the next section.
-
I can certainly change it later if I need to do so.
-
I really miss sitting down and working on the book.
-
These days off have taken me out of my rhythm.
-
Which is interesting since I didn't even have any rhythm until two or three weeks ago.
-
I hope tonight's show was another dazzling success.
-
I really wish I could see THE BRAIN in concert.
-
I hope we get a few more nice days before the rain returns for real
-
You'll notice I said "nice" days, not hot days or even warm days
-
Welcome, 1 Guest!
-
Have you ever eaten Gefilte fish?
-
I guess I scared our Guest away.
-
Perhaps they are opposed to Gefilte fish.
-
I need to switch over to my iPad.
-
I M back.
-
I have forgotten where George is tonight.
-
I think he had rehearsal.
-
We are getting close to another page.
-
Just one more post to go.
-
Page Six!
If you are a Tom Hanks fan and are interested in seeing the landing in the Hudson on a big screen, go see it. Otherwise wait.
I went to Walmart, Target and Fred Meyer, looking for these little cardboard bricks to use as props, but no one (so far) has them in the stores. They can be ordered, and shipped quickly, so I think that that's what we'll have to do.
-
Otherwise, the rehearsals went well. The first show ended earlier than scheduled, so that's good. But the second show took the full hour and a quarter. So, we didn't get out early. Oh, well. ::)
;)
