Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Pez machines, and now it is time for you to post until the Pez machine cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BAILIWICK!
-
DR TCB we can compare storm notes on Thursday;)
-
Darn, I am not sleepy. I shall begin a new book and see if that helps.
-
DR TCB we can compare storm notes on Thursday;)
We can do that.
-
I fell asleep early, so I am wide awake even earlier than usual.
-
I'm actually amazed there is so much live news to choose from at 4:30 A.M. (EST) on a weekday. I guess enough people are up to go to work at this hour to make it worth all these stations doing news programs.
-
CNN actually has two members of its A list of anchors doing the 4 am - 6 am shift, John Berman and Christine Romans.
-
Good morning to all

Good morning, all.

Vixmom sez:
Chas were you aware our favorite I95 stop, Lumberton, has been badly flooded?
Yes indeed, I didn't think to post it then, but I was watching the Weather Channel on Sunday morning while they were reporting from there. They were just off the exit south of the one with the Holiday Inn, etc.
As it happens, TWC is on right now and it looks like the flooding is still there!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Joshie needs today for formatting and cleaning up the scores we have examined, so I am home with Guys & Dolls.
-
DR JohnG, is Moliere's Imaginary Invalid the comedy with Frosine the matchmaker? She was the source for Thornton Wilder's Dolly Gallagher Levi. I always confuse it with The Doctor In Spite of Himself.
-
I have to walk over to Barnes & Noble today and pick up the new Agnes deMille book.

Good morning,all.

I have to walk over to Barnes & Noble today and pick up the new Agnes deMille book.
I look forward to your report on this.

I don't know that I'm in it far enough. It does have a Dr. Fragrante, who prescribes enemas, and a Dr. Diarrheus. So much for subtlety, right?

Moliere's a pretty rude playwright. A lot of earlier translations cleaned up things. It's only recently that we're getting non-bowdlerized translations of Dumas, Hugo, Balzac and other 19th century French writers.
-
I just checked Google: Frosine is in The Miser. I'm old.
-
DR Ginny, how was the MUM event last night?
-
Good Morning on a Wednesday which seems like I'm not sure which day.
-
Good news about the booklets! I am very excited to receive mine!
I love the (Earth vs.) THE SPIDER cd.....one of my favorite as well. It goes right along with my favorite pre-Kritzerland BK cd.....NOT OF THIS EARTH, the film music of Ronald Stein.
-
Big Announcement Vibes for DR ELMORE.
DR JEANNE says she takes the child's dose of the Chestal cough syrup.....so I started doing that as well....and it works just fine!
-
I love The Imaginary Invalid!
-
I did my regular shopping today and got around okay...so I am on the mend. It's good to know.

TOD:
bK, what are some of your early Pez dispensers of?
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Another slow morning here. I have to shop for Mom and us today before Richard and I go to Miami University in Hamilton to hear David McCullough speak in the Colligan Lecture Series. This is the series in which DR Elmore was last October's speaker.
-
DR Ginny, how was the MUM event last night?
DR Elmore, did you get the pictures I emailed last night?
The taping went well, but the faculty member who's usually there guiding the conversation didn't show up. Ruth, the PR person, seemed a little rattled and the conversation rambled quite a bit. It was mostly about Campus-Community Players and technical theatre issues. We managed to get about 90 minutes of raw footage for the oral history and then we had a tour of the newly-refurbished auditorium.
-
I remember the fun and excitement of discovering Pez and its dispensers, but I don't know exactly when that was. Probably closer to the 1960s. Naturally, I thought it had just been invented then!
Don't know what dispensers I had as a kid. I was actually surprised to discover, some years back, that they're still totally popular and that even some of the more contemporary ones are collectible.
Can't remember the last time I had one myself, though, or even when I last had a Pez candy in my mouth.
-
My niece collects the PEZ Dispensers. I tried PEZ candy once when I was a wee child....and I didn't like the taste, so I haven't had any since....
-
DR Elmore, there was quite a bit of discussion about the sets for MAN OF LA MANCHA and YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. And the flaming drink fiasco in AUNTIE MAME...

Taking less and working, sounds good to me.

I have a friend who makes USB's with hot wheels. He has also made some with Pez dispensers.
-
Nice photos DR Ginny.
-
Thanks, DR Jane!
-
DR Ginny, I did get them Thanks!
I just edited "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat." Act Two has about four numbers left now.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe almost eight hours of sleep.
-
My Pez things seem to be of MGM cartoon characters - there are five or six of them.
-
Loving The Red Balloon soundtrack today. Have never seen the movie, but it waits for me at the library.
-
Nice photos DR GINNY!

These scary clowns are now in England. A family I have become good friends with on facebook just had a very scary encounter with an evil clown. Knife in hand he chased their daughter and her friends. The mother said the frantic phone call from the daughter was the scariest one she has ever had.
-
Ginny - terrific photos. Thanks for posting them!

In TAO's version of The Physician [sic] In Spite of Himself that we're doing in December (and I'm cast in it!), an early scene (the first?) has the husband (not played by me) beating the wife, but in our version, she likes it and is kind of upset that he has to stop. ;)

I really enjoyed the CD. Now I want to listen to it again, but it's at home.

Last night after rehearsal, I did a little shopping and then got me something to eat. When I got home, I decided to balance my checkbook since it had been quite a while since I had done that...actually, it's been more than a month! :o I've been checking my balance on-line, so I know how much I have, but I needed to put it all in my Excel spreadsheet checkbook register and PROOVE it to myself. Well, I got it all entered (at least, my debit card receipts), but it was so late by then that I just decided to go to sleep. I'll actually balance it tonight or maybe this weekend. Having a show open in two days takes up a lot of time in the evening.
-
As for Pez dispensers, I have a few regular ones, but none are really special except for my giant Kermit the Frog Pez dispenser that dispenses whole rolls of Pez candies AND plays the theme from The Muppet Show! This isn't mine (I don't have any of the packaging anymore), but you can see the Pez candies on the sides to get a sense of scale:

The walk to Staples to photocopy a tax form nearly killed me. These Volunteer Lawyers for the arts want to know for certain that I am poor as they come. I only happy they didn't ask me to send them a pint of my blood.

Thanks, DR George! It IS a nice space and extremely underutilized.

It better be fabulous, because I just came from a very depressing visit with Mom.
-
Back from a bacon and cheese omelet and a bagel, and then picking up one package.
-
That comes later DR ELMORE.
Tonight on TCM at 8 p.m. is The Young Philadelphians with Paul Newman and Barbara Rush and Robert Vaughn.
I like this movie and From The Terrace among the young Paul Newman movies.....

Very. The father just said this isn't the first from one of these clowns. I know there have been a number of arrests in various states, mostly clowns around elementary schools.

Then it is good you are going out for a good distraction tonight.

I have a bit of a chuckle over the very scary creepy clown incident. This group of girls are 11, 12 years old. Those that used their phones called home, not 999 for the police. First instinct at that age is call your parent-lol
Of course had they called 999 the clown might have been caught.
-
I need to get out for a 3rd walk while the weather is still nice.
-
It will be a short one.
-
Hello!
-
Nice photos, DR Ginny!
-
One of my Barbra friends from Poland is a translator of English-speaking movies and TV shows. I remember she mentioned that she was stumped when "Pez dispenser" came up in one of the shows.
-
;D

999? Where do you live? England??
;)
-
And now, it's time to head to the theater. Tonight is the last night without an audience. Tomorrow is our final rehearsal/$5 preview. You'd think that for $5 more people would want to come, but for some reason, we don't get a lot of people. But, we'll see. :)
Be back later.

I just opened facebook and it had an announcement for me.....
"Good evening, Jane!
Rain is in the forecast tomorrow for Vancouver. Stay dry!"
Nothing about a storm ;D
-
Time to jog. Installing Sierra on the Macbook Air - VERY slow going - I assume all that will go much quicker on the big boy iMac - but I want to make sure I like it before installing on this computer.
-
Page three? Really?
-
A frustrating day at work today
-
I loved The Red Balloon. What a sweet, wonderful movie. And I enjoyed the soundtrack even more knowing the context. Just sweet.
-
Four!
-
I'm sorry, Vixmom.
-
It should have been a slow day with plenty of time to get things done and one dumb bunny managed to waste my entire day with nonsense
-
I had an irritating day at work. People wanted me to work. And I wanted to play.
-
But tonight instead of going home we had Theology on Tap....and that always lifts my spirits
-
Our Oastor and a number of our parishioners father in the back room of a local Applebee's , have dinner and drinks and talk over one subject or another
-
Tonight we talked about the black lives matter and blue lives matter campaigns
-
It was very interesting hearing each other's perspectives
-
Watching the first film of Stop the World, I Want to Get Off. Very strange.
Why was a song by the Bergmans included in the film?

Patricia Barry, who played Alice Horton on Days of Our Lives, died at 93.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2016/10/12/days-our-lives-star-patricia-barry-dies-93/91960338/
I didn't know she got started by winning a Rita Hayworth look-alike contest.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100.
-
Good night, all.
-
It should have been a slow day with plenty of time to get things done and one dumb bunny managed to waste my entire day with nonsense
Sorry.
-
DR TCB & DR Geo6, is it rains there yet?
-
I keep reading we might have hurricane like winds that will knock out the power.
-
Page FOUR? Really?
-
Are you serious?
-
I find this appalling.
-
One hour left for some damn frenzies.
-
Good evening!
-
Sorry I am late tonight.
-
My ex called and talked for almost two hours.
-
I kept thinking we were done talking and then some other topic would pop up.
-
He lives in Sun City, Arizona
-
We usually talk every couple of weeks, but it has been six or seven weeks.
-
He is 14 years older than I.
-
I guess I promised that I would be coming down there in September.
-
So he hadn't been calling because he was waiting for me to call with my travel plans.
-
Whoops!
-
I forgot all about that promise.
-

Greetings, 0 Guests!
-
I spent only a small time writing today.
-
I ran errands and went shopping for stew ingredients
-
Then I spent the afternoon going thru my WONDERFUL LIFE script.
-
This is not the same version of the script that I did three years ago.
-
I guess there is something like 16 different play versions based on the film.
-
When the film went into public domain many years ago, all these versions suddenly appeared.
-
Obviously, there are not a lot of changes possible.
-
This version seems to lend itself to theater in the round or three quarter.
-
I believe a lot of the scene changes will be done with light changes rather than scene changes.
-
This play is very episodic.
-
Of course, so is the movie.
-
I have a couple of rather lengthy speeches that will try my memory skills
-
Tomorrow I need to go back to the store in the morning for a couple more things.
-
Then after I start the stew, I need to highlight my script.
-
Still no word from Betzy about the book.
-
Gee, I need to switch computers.
-
Hopefully, the iPad has some charge left, since I broke the charger chord.
-
I guess that is another errand for tomorrow morning.
-
I still have a partial charge left.
-
No all-night Gin rummy games tonight.
-
DR TCB & DR Geo6, is it rains there yet?
It didn't really start raining much here in Olympia until after I got to the theater at about 6:40 or so, but it's been raining ever since...fairly lightly, but continuously.
-
I forgot all about that promise.
Don't you hate it when that happens?
-
I guess there is something like 16 different play versions based on the film.
Wow...16. I had no idea.
-
Whoops!
Oops.
-

Does you like the changes?

I looked outside around 10:00 and couldn'the tell if it had stopped raining or if it was a light rain. Light and steady is fine with me.
-

Does you like the changes?
In the previous version, there was Clarence and another angel who narrated the story up to the Christmas Eve. This one has only Clarence.
-
Fairly light rain until tomorrow morning.

Six
-
in some ways I do like the changes.
-
in some ways I do like the changes.
That's good. But are there changes that you don't like?

In this version, Uncle Billy is married to Aunt Tilly, who also works at the Savings and Loan.
