Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a Thursday kind of notes, and now it is time for you to post until the Thursday kind of Thursday cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: UNIVOCAL!
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after TCB!
-
DR TCB, interesting about the changes. I hope overall you are pleased. Are there many changes to your roll?
-
Not really. Mr. Potter is possibly a little meaner in this version. I will enjoy it.
-
I thought he was plenty mean enough 😃
-
I thought he was plenty mean enough 😃
It is all a matter of degrees.😀
-
Tonight is the $5 preview for An Improbable Peck of Plays 5. Last night's rehearsal went pretty well...and it came in at right about an hour and a half. Nice and (fairly) short.
-
And now, I need to go to sleep.
Good night, Tom.
-
But before I go...Gratuitous Post #10!
-
;)
-
Good night, George!
-
And when it's 12 o'clock,
-
we climb the stairs,
-
We never knock,
-
'cause nobody's there.
-
First 5:15 in the morning post!
-
Line-memorization vibes to TCB!

First 5:15 in the morning post!
First 5:15 in the morning post!
Too early.

First 5:15 in the morning post!
First 5:15 in the morning post!
Too early.
How about 6 in the morning then? :)
-
Good morning, all!
-
In another hour I shall be out the door and off to 22nd Street for a hip injection. It's rather pathetic to know that your entire life is centered on this event.
-
I had the most weird dreams, the last was that Laura Benanti and I were working in a convenience store and wreaking havoc with customers and merchandise.
-
Before that I had two dreams that had many dead relatives. In the first, I was sitting in a darkened room, noodling on a piano, while my parents, my Aunt Jean and her husband played cards in another room. At one point I was talking to my cousin Tommy, who died from leukemia around twenty years ago.
In the second, I was Christmas shopping with my mother in a department store and we ran into her oldest sister Dorothy and her daughter there. At the end of one of the dreams I told my dad that I needed to set the alarm for 5:30 so I would not miss my doctor;s appointment, and he promised to see that I was out of bed then.
-
Just thinking about those family members now leaves me rather melancholic.
-
On my way back from the doctor, I will stop at a post officer and post my forms to Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
-
When I get home, I will do very little. If I can get my energy up, I may do the laundry.
-
Good morning to all
-
If not, I've got my new Agnes de Mille book to doze over.
-
!! 2 !!
-
More coffee!
-
On this day, 113 yeats ago, Babes In Toyland opened on Broadway at the Columbus Circle Majestic Theatre.
-
I miss Toyland!
-
First 5:15 in the morning post!
First 5:15 in the morning post!
Too early.
How about 6 in the morning then? :)
Much better ;)
Looking at the time of my post I am grateful I slept until 8:00.
-
Good
morning afternoon, all.
-
Afternoon, because the site has been unreachable since a little after seven in the a.m., five hours ago.
-
So, why was this site down between my last post and Jane's? I returbed home from the doctor to emails from DRs Ginny and ChasSmith asking if the site was dead. I've been trying to get on for over an hour. I just rebooted my computer and here I am.
-
Thursday afternoon greetings! I've had trouble connecting here all morning, but things seem OK now. Richard and I have both been out for haircuts and I'm staying in the rest of the day.
-
At last - there must have been a disturbance in the Force.
-
Injection vibes for DR ELMORE.
Preview vibes for DR GEORGE & Co.
-
My last dream this morning was about this piece of music, a song in 3/8, in E minor, from some Sondheim show. I was looking at it on the iPad and noticed that the first several bars were screwed up -- the vocal line and a couple of instrumental parts were off by three or four measures, and everyone around me had a different idea of what was wrong. I said it was a matter of simply replacing the first eight bars or so with a corrected version, since the rest looked all right, and someone finally made that happen. But though the problem seemed to be largely fixed, others were still grumbling that it wasn't right.
-
Oy!
-
David McCullough was awesome last night! At age 83, he spoke without notes - eloquently, eruditely, and entertainingly.
-
So, finally last night I made the batter for the buckwheat pancakes, let it sit out overnight, and this morning finished it up and tried a small test batch. They came out very nicely, and there's plenty of batter that I'll put away for the weekend
-
Now I need to go back and read the notes. When I saw the site was finally up, I jumped right in here first.
-
I'm up, I'm up - haven't heard from the choreographer about our meeting so I guess I could have slept a bit longer, but I almost got eight hours of sleep.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Like Ginny, I had trouble connecting to the site today.
-
But I'm here now.
-
Elmore, I like the sound of the Laura Benanti dream.
-
We had a shooter at large near the site where one of the offices I work out is moving. Scary.
There's been an all clear. But I have no other details.
-
Ginny, I'm glad to read McCullough was good. I've really enjoyed the three or four books of his I read.
-
Afternoon, because the site has been unreachable since a little after seven in the a.m., five hours ago.
At first I thought I had lost our internet connection.
-
So, why was this site down between my last post and Jane's? I returbed home from the doctor to emails from DRs Ginny and ChasSmith asking if the site was dead. I've been trying to get on for over an hour. I just rebooted my computer and here I am.
Then I lost it after my post and attempting to post again within a couple of minutes.

I am not surprised.

Scary. Let us know if they catch the person.
-
DR elmore how long should it take before you know if the shot worked?
VIBES IT DOES!!!
-
They haven't caught the person yet.
-
Three!
-
I decided to do the laundry.
-
It's in the dryers. 40 minutes to go.
-
DR JOHN G - something you may not know:
Patricia Barry and the relatives of William Frawley were engaged in a rather bitter and sordid court battle over Frawley's estate.... He had left a LOT of his money to Barry and her children - his "long lost" relatives thought they should have it even though they were given small bequests in his will....
Barry ended up prevailing in court and got the $$$. I think at the time she wanted it for her daughters' education.
-
I decided to do the laundry.
I am doing the same. I waited for the rain as not to waste any outdoor time during our glorious days.

It doesn't seem like the the relatives had much of a case.
-
I used the treadmill at the club house today. I still might walk in the rain later. Once a day getting soaked is enough, plus I can read while walking on the treadmill.
-
I am reading Mark Salzman's THE MAN IN THE EMPTY BOAT. It is a memoir of a period in his life after his children were born and he suffered from writers block. I am enjoying it very much, but then I expected to. A number of years ago I heard him speak about this, prior to writing the book, and he was wonderful.

All that wasted energy.
I have a friend who's a dance instructor. He took care of one of his elderly clients. Her kids couldn't be bothered with her. When she died, she left her money to her kids, but she left her house to the instructor. They sued. He didn't have any money, so he just let them have it.

Yikes! I'm glad HHW is all back up and running!

Jane, here's the menu of one of my favorite Mexican places. The enchiladas de espinacas are righteous. The ceviche and the queso fundido are great. Steve's margarita rules.
-
That's what the judge said DR JANE - in essence: Where were you when your brother was sick and needed help?
That's a very sad and familiar story DR JOHN G.
-
I've written to find out what the problem was. It will help if I give times so someone post exact times we were down. Certainly I got up at around nine-thirty and have had no problems accessing the site.
-
Just heard - server crash due to memory problems. We came back up at nine, and it was up and down a couple more times, but is fine now.

I posted last at 6:32am EST and DR ChasSmith sent me an email about the site while I was off to the doctor. My email tells me it arrived in my email at 7:53am EST.
-
DR JRand66, should I be worried about all these dreams of dead relatives?

I am beginning to fade. I expect I will be in bed by 9:00 tonight.

NY Times lawyer David McCraw sent an epic response to the lawyer of one Mr. Donald Trump re: the latter's demand for a retraction and apology.
Epic.

I am beginning to fade. I expect I will be in bed by 9:00 tonight.
That moors-ish transparency can be most becoming under a full moon.
-
I'd like to see the letter to the lawyer but I can't get to NY Times anymore this month. Can you cut and paste here?

It was down about five hours, a little after 7:00 to a little after noon, eastern.

Thanks John. Is cerviche seafood? I have never liked seafood, Keith does and might be interested in it. Neither of us like hot. We think it is hot when other people don't.
I looked at all the restaurants you mentioned and they all look good. Keith's favorite dish at a Mexican restaurant isn't on any of them. I suppose it isn't true Tex-Mex though he was able to get it in New Mexico. He likes a big salad in a bowl shaped shell. Are you cringing about now ;)
Is Steve's margarita on the menu or something you know to request?

Hello, everyone.
-
BK said that it's a Thursday kind of day in Studio City, but it's been a Saturday kind of day here in my 'hood. I saw my massage therapist yesterday. He rents a room from my acupuncturist in her suite of offices. Whenever I lie down on his massage table I expect him to start putting needles in me. Since I'm usually there on Friday for the needles, I kept thinking that today was Saturday. Oy.

I, too, enjoyed the NYT response to the threatened lawsuit. I think there'll be a lot more collateral damage than certain people are expecting. Melania and the kids may have to face a lot of criticism and embarrassment.
-
A friend sent me an email this morning that I'd love to post here, but as it makes fun of one of the presidential candidates I won't.
-
DR ELMORE dreams such as yours should not alarm you. I should have commented earlier, but because of the "memory problems", I was well into my day when I read them.
When we are facing a medical procedure, we often crave the attention and company of those we were closest to - or those we think might understand us best. All of your dreams were ones of reassurance and moving forward.
DR CHAS SMITH your dream indicates that you are often in a group of people who claim to know music or theatre very well, but they are in fact woefully misinformed. You do not consider it your job to correct them, so you suffer in silence and go about your own way.
-
DR JEANNE - I haven't coughed at all today - not ONCE!
-

Melania has no illusions about Tramp, but their son's a young boy and I would like to hope he's kept out of the loop.
As to tIvanka and her big African game hunter brothers, they're as scummy as their father and deserve everything coming to him and them.
Tiffany seems to be outside the inner circle since she was raised in LA by Marla

Good! I'm glad you've gotten so much relief. You can see why I was so impressed with the cough syrup.

Out of all this horrible election ugliness I didn't expect to see any light, but actually I think that all the exposure to such blatant sexism will make people--some people, at least--more sensitive to it and that will be a good thing. It reminds me of some diets I've heard of--aversion diets--where you eat so much that it makes you sick and you never want to eat that again. I never expected to say this, but I think something good will actually come out of this horrible ugliness.
-
On that note I shall say
TTFN.

Well, if the rumors are true about the Russians putting money into Tramp's campaign and business, they may not be happy if he loses the election since he couldn't hand them the USA. If his businesses keep failing, he may not have the funds to pay them back. He may end up in Russian concrete shoes under the Hudson. That's the only real unexpected consequence i can foresee.
-
Well, I'm off. Tonight is our only preview performance, so if anyone shows up, they pay only $5. Pray for Rosemary's Baby! ;)
Until later.

Have a good evening George.

Indiegogo funds came in - the ones that came to Paypal were, according to the e-mail I got, four hundred bucks short - can't imagine why so I've written them (no way to phone) and hopefully they'll send the rest because that four hundred bucks was the extra we raised to cover all the damn fees.

Steve's is something you have to know to ask for. He likes a taco salad. We should be able to find that somewhere. I'll ask about. There are lots of people who like nothing spicy, so they should be able to handle it no problem.

yay!

Time for another depressing chapter in the Dekalog. I skipped adultery (too long for tonight) and moved on to stealing. If these movies weren't so incredibly good, I'd have stopped watching them long ago.
-
I'm going to start the new Tarzan movie in an effort to cheer me up.
-
And help us move on.
-
One more post.
-
Five!
-
page five? Really?
-
Does anybody care that Bob Dylan got the Nobel Prize? I thought it was cool, but for lyrics, I prefer Sondheim. On a folk level, I would have preferred Woody Guthrie way back when.
-
Good evening!
-
Vixmom! The hardest working woman in America!
-
The arrival of the winds has been delayed by a few hours, according to the lastest update.
-
Hi there
-
John G, I also skipped adultery and stealing tonight... I try to avoid them most nights
-
Now they are saying the strongest winds are due in our (George, TCB) area around three in the morning.
-
I am actually nearly completely caught up at work thanks to Columbus Day and the Jewish holidays
-
John G, I also skipped adultery and stealing tonight... I try to avoid them most nights
I am sure that is a blessing to Vixdad as well.
-
this weekend Vixdad and I are going away to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary
-
I am now getting a little annoyed with Betzy. I realize that she is helping her sister move. but she isn't doing it 24 hours a day, and I am not asking her to read WAR AND PEACE.
-
it is actually on Monday
-
this weekend Vixdad and I are going away to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary
Awh!!!!!!!
-
we are going back to essex Ct to ride the steam locomotive again and enjoy the fall foilage
-
Happy Anniversary to both of you!
-
this trip includes a stop in Haddam where the GoodSpeed playhouse is located
-
thank you TCB!
-
It will be interesting to see if Saturday's wind and rain storm turns out to be as bad as they are predicting.
-
TCB give Betzey some time I am currently reading manuscripts for two different friends and when I sit down to read I want to be sure I am giving it my full attention. i often will go back and reread passages and go back to a previous chapter to reread and clarify something in a later chapter. I don't want to read when I am too tired or when there are distractions because I feel I owe it to my friends who have poured themselves into these pages not to rush through but to thoroughly digest the works
but I understand how frustrating it must be to you as the writer to be waiting to hear her thoughts
-
I hope that the weather is not as bad as predicted on the west coast
-
the weather people are predicting a glorious weekend for CT - i am hoping that they are correct
-
well I must leave my eyes are drooping and tomorrow is a busy day
-
BTW I kept forgetting to send Jack get well vibes but let me now send my congratulations on his becoming cough free
-
John G, I also skipped adultery and stealing tonight... I try to avoid them most nights
You're a better person than I am, but then, we all knew that. :)
-
John G - scary stuff I am glad you are safe
-
good night all
-
this weekend Vixdad and I are going away to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary
Happy anniversary!
-
Now they are saying the strongest winds are due in our (George, TCB) area around three in the morning.
Vibes you both stay safe.
-
Six!
-
Tarzan isn't much cheerier, so it'll be easier to say good night to this one.
-
And good night, all.
-
Good night, John!

Got it, thanks.
