I hope George's preview went well tonight.

It did!  We only had two people in the audience, well, two who paid the $5 for the preview, plus the house manager for the evening (who is the father of the youngest actor at age 18), and the four directors.  Everyone did really well, there were no major screw-ups and no bad technical issues.  Just one cue set off a tiny bit early...which was, and will be, no problem. :D

I just finished reading THE MAN IN THE EMPTY BOAT.  I am a fan of Mark Saltzman and he did not disappoint.

DIMESTORE is available from my library but I am not sure I want to read 2 memoirs in a row.

I ate my second round of the buckwheat cakes before logging on this morning, and I'm on cup of coffee number two.
Title: Re: THE STREAMING ME

And for those following along at home...

The "bucks" are good, but on Day Two of the trials, I see how this particular recipe (my great-grandmother's) is notably stronger on the buckwheat itself than a few I've looked at online.  You combine buckwheat flour and regular flour, and her ratio of buckwheat is much higher than anyone's.  I love the hit, myself, but on my second batch I'm going to go for a bit more balance which I think will be more palatable for newbies, and it might also improve the final texture a little bit.  I find these a little more crumbly on the plate than others I've had.

Vixmom, the weather does look to be fine over the weekend, and you should see some nice color here and there.

I should warn you, though, that the buckwheat cakes are only served till 10:00 a.m.  Latecomers will be turned away.  No rainchecks.

Preston County (WV) Buckwheat Festival (http://www.buckwheatfest.com/) is in the Appalachian region my mother's side of the country hails from; hence, the affinity for buckwheat.

Last night, I got very sleepy very early in the evening.  I found myself thinking, "Oh!  Let it be 8 o'clock and I'll go to bed."   As it turned out, I let it be 9 o'clock before going to bed because I fell asleep in my chair around 7:45 p.m.  Oh, well.

This morning, I was up early.  Made coffee and settled into my comfy chair and watched (with several lengthy fast-forwards) last night's "Project Runway."  It did not turn out the way I thought it would.  The farewell was highly emotional and Tim Gunn stopped short of using his "save" which I felt sure would come out and save the person who left.

The winning team was an assortment of "misfits" while the losing team was the "elite" (or so they thought).

It's the first "Project Runway" show this season that I truly liked.

Friday afternoon greetings!  I was up and out before 9am to attend an art journaling class at Marco's Paper in Centerville (southern Dayton 'burb).  It's a regular second-Friday-of-each-month thing, but my first time attending.  I've shopped at Marco's for years, but this is the first class I've taken there.  Today was the first in a collage series, so it dove-tailed nicely with the workshop I took at the library in the spring.  It was fun, I liked the instructor, and will go back next month.

Good night, Tom and Jane.

Everything went well at the eye doctor.  I'm at work and have been for about an hour and a half.  It's been raining, and there was an accident on the southbound freeway, but it happened before I even left for the eye doctor, so when I was going back to work, the slow-down was because of the clean-up crews.  I didn't see any crunched cars.

Made two cups of pasta for Wacky Noodles - I'm not sure why two cups of pasta is so wildly different in size every single time I make it - I use a measuring cup.  Today's two cups really SEEMED like two cups, in other words, not too much and certainly not over four or five ounces of pasta.

Eye doctor and opening night vibes for DR GEORGE.

Thanks, Jrand!  The eye doctor went well, so now it's just the opening night!

Is that the "eye" opening night?  Or...?

Still no response from Indiegogo almost twenty-four hours later.  I've written again and told them I will contact the 150 dollar perk person and tell them I cannot fulfill their perk until Indiegogo sends their money to me - and that they should contact them as well.

DR George, I'm glad you missed the accident and that all is well with your eyes.  It seems strange we don't have rain.  I suppose it will make its way to us.

Thanks, Jane!  I don't doubt that you'll get rain eventually.

Yup, it is here now.  We even had time to go to the market before it started.

Am leaving work at 3:30 p.m. and will head for the Kaiser pharmacy.

For whatever reason, all my refillable meds are no longer refillable online.

I will ask about this with a withering eye!

 :o

Can you call them in without going in person?  I would be upset if I had to wait while my prescriptions were filled.

The news reports are scaring my friend.  She asked "If the windows break are the window covering strong enough to keep them from shattering into the house?"

Funny, I hadn't even considered the possibility.  I still don't-lol

And now, I'm off to the theater.  Tonight is the official opening night of Theater Artists Olympia's (https://olytheater.com/) An Improbable Peck of Plays 5!  I don't know if we'll have a big crowd, but those who come will enjoy it.  It's a good bunch of plays.

Be back later!

I seriously need to go through all my BDs and DVDs and CDs.

I'm more than certain I can put together several "baskets of deplorables" from among them.

I tried that. Got rid of three.

Back from a two-and-a-half mile jog.  STILL haven't heard from Indiegogo and I am quite annoyed at that.  The main bathroom toilet is now broken - won't shut off - unbelievable, who needs this crap?  Plumber hopes he can come tomorrow, but in the meantime he had me shut the water valve off so I don't have to listen to the damn thing.

All CDs are shipped, I think - if not, the balance will go in the morning, but I do think she got them all done - now we just have to pray she didn't get confused by all the signed vs. non-signed vs. Indiegogo etc.  I was hopefully very clear and she did call a bunch of times to further clarify.  The shocker, always, is how much the damn postage costs - she purchased $1700 of it today - I just don't get it.  We did not sell THAT many, but we did have all those orders for five CDs plus the Sherman one, but still it's always a shock.  I really want to cover that money - yes, we charge for postage but I must tell you when you add the boxes and the helper's salary, we are losing money on every bit of postage and I don't know what to do about it, really.  So, I may pull a few goodies and see if any of you dear readers would like them.  I recently found the original album art for Sax and Violence, my film noir CD - it's a great Leon Joosen noir cover.

Not entirely hating this Tarzan, but I am having troubles with parts of it. The Jane is too 21st century. The slow motion stuff is silly. (OK, I know that Tarzan movies are on some level inherently silly.) I hate the too-green color scheme.

Well, the CGI failed miserably on my 50-inch screen, so silly is the overall verdict of the new Tarzan.

My attempt to kid those ultra-low-budget Bette Midler in "Hello Dolly!" TV ads that look like they could have been created by a teenage intern

along with a revival of "The Gross" - parody of "The Rose"
