Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a double day of notes, and now it is time for you to post until the double cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MOLLIFY!
-
First post after BK!
-
Next post after BK!

Today, I'm going to see Tacoma Little Theatre's production of Dracula (https://www.tacomalittletheatre.com/blog/2016/dracula). My friend pug directed. She's also directing "The Physician In Spite of Himself" that I'm in.
-
But first, I must sleep, then get up, then take a shower, then get dressed, then leave.
Good night and have a good day, all!
-
Good night, George.
-
Well, I don't have any reason to get up early tomorrow, except Nicky will insist.
-
So, I guess I will say good night.
-
It's 5:30 a.m. but somehow it feels like 6:30.
-
More broken leg wishes to BK!

Mac and cheese soup sounds like it could have potential to be tasty if someone actually set out to make it that way. Having regular mac and cheese turn out all soupy sounds pretty bad. You'd think they'd have noticed the liquid before serving and drained the excess liquid out, even if only to cover their mistake.
-
I don't feel like I got an extra hour of sleep
-
Good morning, all.
-
I most certainly did not get an extra hour of sleep, thanks to feline contingent.
-
Very glad to hear the shows are going well.
-
I slept my extra hour - that was very nice.
Rehearsal and performance vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
Boy, could I use some pancakes this morning.
And some bacon, while you're at it.
-
I'll be making buckwheat pancakes next weekend.
But that is then and this is now.
-
Good morning, all!

More dead relative dreams: my mother and Aunt Jenny came to pick me up at my Aunt Jean's house.
My mother's sister Jean and her husband Harold were childless, and I became their surrogate child, About once a month I would spend a weekend with them, and we'd go to the theatre - never to a movie - or something else she had planned. On Saturdays she and I usually went shopping in Hamilton, OH, and I'd always come home with a book or a toy when I was younger, later it was clothing, or something she felt was essential to my being socialized and civilized.
-
I have lots of writing today. Since the Guys & Dolls invoice is going in later than I wished, and since the contract per Big Announcement is taking its time, I must finish this choral arrangement and get paid!
-
DR TCB, I have been thinking about a book on the history of Babes In Toyland, 1902-2016. I need to get back to the memoirs and revise and hone. I've been waiting for feedback from friends who've read what I've put down so far.
-
More coffee!
-
Sunday morning greetings! I slept very poorly last night, which is not uncommon for time- change night nor for the first night in a hotel. Combine the two and...
-
More coffee!
Ditto!
-
good morning to all
-
For a night with an extra hour in it, I sure had a restless one. It was fine till the wee hours when I got up for a quick trip to the bathroom. Back in bed, I fell right asleep again, which is great, but then I got into this endless dream having to do with a wall I've hit in my family's genealogical history. Half asleep, half awake, I lay there thinking of ways to attack it. None of which turned out to be new or brilliant. Most unsatisfying.

I'm picking someone up at Westchester County Airport at 11:30 tonight, and that's really going to seem late.
Methinks a li'l power nap sometime this afternoon is in order.
-
The author of HILLBILLY ELEGY (which has been talked about on this site) is part of a panel on the election right now on Fareed Zakaria's show on CNN.
I'm pretty sure this show is repeated at 1 pm eastern time, if anyone's curious.

DR TCB I took a break from reading to say hi, read for a bit and fell asleep.
-
DR George we don't watch THE ODD COUPLE but might for the tribute episode. Thanks for the link.

It is amazing how often restaurants will serve burned food.

Reminds me of the flights from L.A. to Medford when we lived in Ashland.

Good morning.
-
I got to sleep in today. Well, 7 a.m. is late for me.
-
My neighbor captured the beautiful sunset from Friday night.
-
Then she captured the exquisite sunrise Saturday morning, which I just missed.
-
When she turned around she saw a double rainbow, which I also saw having been woken up by Keith, quickly thrown clothes on and ran outside with my camera. Her panoramic photo was much better than mine.

That is so cool!
-
Great photos!
-
I'm up, I'm up - a bit over nine hours of sleep. Kitchen clocks are set correctly. I'll jog in an hour or so.
-
I went as far as I could with one arrangement; I ran out of paper. So, I'm back to hte choral piece. The next 20 bars are the same as an earlier section, so I'm just recopying it up a step from E-flat to F. I'm listening to Ormandy's 1960 recoring of Carmina Burana with Harve Presnell. I remember what a jolt it was hearing this piece for the first time, and t's still my favorite recording.
-
Great photos, DR Jane!
-
I'm watching "The Crown" on Netflix. It's about Queen Elizabeth II. Some of it is slow moving but I'm enjoying it overall. I don't think the actress playing the Queen is quite right for the role.
-
There's quite a bit about Winston Churchill, who is played by John Lithgow. All I can say about his performance is that he should make room on a shelf for an Emmy Award.
-
Happy return to Standard Time!
-
Beautiful photos, Jane!
-
DR Elmore, I almost wish I hadn't discovered Local Donuts. Almost.
Salted Caramel. Yum.

You could have taken him plain Dunkin' Donuts, but you had to go all special.

Good evening, all.
-
Another day of driving around the island, playing with cats and being lazy.
-
Somehow it doesn't get old.
-
We made it to the southern coast for the first time. The water was more aggressive than the calm water on the north side. The economy was far worse.
I guess the tourists want gentle waters with their beach time.
-
I have become an expert at making the traditional Greek farmers salad. I have also been putting the foraged herbs to good use.
Today I found some spearmint, just like I grow back home.
-
Great photos, DR Jane.
-
Bye, bye, two.
-
Hello, three!
-
Hello there
-
Typical Sunday morning. The kids choir sang, and they were almost un-listenable. The director is an idiot and has no sense of anything. I'm hoping she retires soon.
Today, I'm hanging with the boys, doing laundry, etc. Tonight I have to go in a play for callbacks for a production of Sister Act as a favor to a friend of mine. I hope it's not going to last too long.
-
Back from a two-and-a-half mile jog.
-
DR Elmore, but now he will always remember Phoenix fondly.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I didn't get any extra sleep, sadly, but it was sooo nice to have that extra hour. I like to take my sweet time about things on Sundays.
-
My neighbor is vacuuming his car. He has a lot of time on his hands and therefore keeps his car spotless. He sometimes gets upset with me because my car isn't spotless. I do like a clean car, but just have other priorities. I should come up with a good retort in case he chews me out again.
-
Vibes to all DRs for a good week ahead. And vibes that we have an orderly and peaceful election.

TTFN.

Well he might get the wrong idea, but hypothetically you could send him the link to this:

The choral piece is now finished. I'm happy that's off my desk.

Tell him he is welcome to clean your car whenever he likes. Heck he can fly here and clean mine as well

He actually hosed my car down once. He was washing his car and apparently was disgusted with mine. He later told me he'd done so. I was so busy with other things that I truly hadn't noticed. We apparently have differing views of what constitutes a dirty car. Mine was dusty, to be sure, but no bird droppings or other gunk. Just dust, really. To me, that's not too bad. And I don't use my car as a mobile junk room. The interior is clean. The hose-down occurred when I was having cardiac problems and that was my top priority. My car really wasn't on my radar then. I think he has too much time on his hands. He's a nice guy for the most part, but has a controlling streak.

John G, my favorite use of sea urchin roe is in an aquarium.

...and we're HOME! We attended church this morning where the ordination took place yesterday. They had a festive Thanksgiving-style potluck afterwards - for the Bishop, not for us. We ate and visited briefly before the 4-hour drive home. I'm glad to be back in the Eastern time zone.

I'll see if we can get this. Lithgow as Chruchill, interesting. I should watch it just to compare his performance to Albert Finney's which we thought was great.
-
Speaking of Lithgow, we saw him in THE ACCOUNTANT today. Ben Affleck is the star of this film. While I don't dislike his acting I have never been a fan. As we were leaving the theater Keith asked if his respectability went up a few notches in my opinion. It definitely did.

DR Elmore, I almost wish I hadn't discovered Local Donuts. Almost.
Salted Caramel. Yum.

I am sure these were far better than Dunkin'Donuts, which I personally would not want.

Another day of driving around the island, playing with cats and being lazy.
Sounds lovely.

That is nice you are helping the economy in the less touristy areas. I felt bad about not traveling out of those. Are you carrying cat food with you? I wish we had. We did give them fish & turkey, and donated money to a woman who was feeding tons of cats.
-
I am glad the photos have been enjoyed. I forgot to go look for our evening sunset. By the time I remembered it was over. I have no idea if it was a pretty one or not. This hour earlier is very early ;D

Tell him it is physically difficult for you and ask him we he would like to clean your car for you ;)
-
DR Matthew I hope you had an early evening.

I would tell him to feel free to wash the outside of my car anytime he wanted. I would want the mirrors and windows drive if they were hosed down-lol

John G, my favorite use of sea urchin roe is in an aquarium.
It's apparently a local specialty. They use it in a spread made with potatoes and olive oil all whipped up. I'd love to try it. I think it's called achinosalata, which spellcheck thinks should be "chinos always."
-
It's morning in Crete.
-
I'm ready to go play.
-
Nobody else is up.
-
Hello, four!
-
Good evening!
-
Page 4? Yuck?!
-
Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest.
-
But I worked hard today.
-
Most importantly, I worked on the book today.
-
I think I finished the twelfth chapter.
-
Or maybe it was the thirteenth?
-
I am getting confused chapter-wise.
-
Then it was housecleaning time.
-
I still have dusting to do tomorrow.
-
Plus I have to take my laundry to have it done.
-
Then, after housecleaning, it was time to work on my lines.
-
All I can say is that I have a lot more work to do before next Saturday.
-
Actually I would like to be completely off book by Wednesday's rehearsal.
-
We shall see how that goes.
-
Tomorrow the Seahawks play on Monday Night Football.
-
Well, it matters to me!
-
And it was a post.
-
Greetings 1 Guest!
-
What is your favorite vegetable?
-
I had a reasonably productive day
-
Some reorganizing
-
I guess my favorite would be corn, especially corn on the cob.
-
Made a beef roast with tiny baby oven roasted potatoes, mushrooms in a sherry sauce and peas
-
Has anyone ever tried the frozen corn on the cob?
-
I don't have a rack that fit into the roasting own I wanted to use, so I took the potatoes tossed them in olive oil and sprinkled a little kosher salt on them and spread them in the bottom of the pan
-
Then I seared the roast and put it on top of the potatoes do they served as the rack.
-
Hello, Vixmom!
-
I warmed a little beef stick and added it to the bottom of the pan just enough to keep the pan from being burned
-
Dinner sounds wonderful.
-
Page 5
-
Much earlier in the day I thinly sliced a sweet onion and sauteed it in some butter until it was translucent.
-
Meantime I peeked and halved fresh mushrooms which I added to the pan. After a bit I added some sherry and a bit of beef stock, gave it a stir and let it simmer for the next 5 hours
-
I took a shortcut with the peas... They were canned
-

I used to quite like green giant frozen corn on the cob.... Of course it doesn't compare to the local corn you can get on Long Island in the summer
-
Meantime I peeked and halved fresh mushrooms which I added to the pan. After a bit I added done sherry and a bit of beef stock, gave it a stir and let it simmer for the next 5 hours
Oh beef stock. That earlier post said beef stick, and I didn't know what that was.
-
But I cannot eat corn on the cob antmire
-
Antmire? Spellcheck thinks anymore should be antmire? What does that even mean?
-

I didn't peek at the mushrooms either, I peeled them
-
Anyway since I no longer have my four lower front middle teeth I cannot bite anything
-
I had a sausage and egg croissant for dinner.
-
I eat sandwiches with a knife and fork these days
-
Anyway since I no longer have my four lower front middle teeth I cannot bite anything
Will you be getting dentures or implants?
-

Sorry. I guess that is none of my business.
-
Most importantly, I worked on the book today.
Good.
-

Good thing you don't have my shoulder. Cutting sandwiches into bite sized pieces all the time would hurt.
-
Typing on my tablet in bed, as I am doing, also hurts ;D
-
I am going to read.
-
'night
-
Good night, Jane.
-
I need to switch computers.
BRB.
-
I M back.
-
I can't seem to post.
-
Now I can.

CRANBERRIES

Getting near the end.
