Boy, we are talkative tonight.
Boy, we are talkative tonight.
I know. I'm watching TV shows that I have on my DVR.
DR JohnG, did you recognize "She Loves Me" in the Garland film?
I finished Hillbilly Elegy. Wild ride. Hope he keeps his life on track.
I was handed a package from Amazon.co.uk that Amazon told me would be delivered next week! Simce I had a final delivery notice, I don't know when the hell it arrived, but it was the new Yeomen of the Guard full score from Oxford University Press that I paid $100 for with my last G&D check.
The carton was flimsy, water-damaged and torn open, and the new score looks like a bad second-hand copy with water-damaged pages and bent pages. U am absolutely furious for several reasons: if the asshole Post Service driver had simply left it my lobby as usual on the first delivery attempt, I mighht have salvaged it a lot better, and I have received much more securely bundled packages from Amazon.co.uk in the past.
I've sent them a thank you and fuck you email, and now I wait for their response.
Opening night with a few of my cast members.(http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u271/actr2000/Cast%20of%20wonderful%20life_zpsdqzsrxmw.jpg) (http://s170.photobucket.com/user/actr2000/media/Cast%20of%20wonderful%20life_zpsdqzsrxmw.jpg.html)
I'm glad I don't have one of those DVR's. I would never leave the house.
Jane, the lemon meringue pie was store-bought, and it just ain't like Mom's. But it's pretty good.
Makes me hungry for a grapefruit meringue pie, but it has been cold enough yet down here for the grapefruit to sweeten up. That's the only meringue pie I make.

Some of my friends think he's gearing up to enter politics...

I've never heard of a grapefruit meringue pie. I do love grapefruit. Can you post the recipe? ;D

It is a curse...that you'll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.
;)
This recipe looks seriously good, George. And the photo has me drooling.

Good morning. We are going to see the tour of "Beautiful" today.

Okay, I've found two (2) RCA CDs on the shelf that are SACD. There might be another one or two here.
The logos on the back say DSD (SACD Surround), SACD Stereo, and CD Audio.
These are the Reiner Scheherazade and the Heifetz Beethoven/Mendelssohn concertos.

I played the Reiner yesterday and it sounds amazing.

OMG I was just reading about DR Vixmom's thanksgiving experience.
Sorry, but who would prepare the side dishes sick? And why didn't they tell you guys in advance that they were all so sick?
It's outrageous for a bank to remove that kind of service.
The one at my bank is great -- it not only works 99% of the time, it's free if you have any kind of account there.
(Otherwise, 8% or something.)
Thinking about the passing of Fidel Castro.
Back in 1959, right after the Cuban Revolution, when I was a senior in high school, I wrote a term paper in my Social Studies class in which I argued that Castro would NOT become a dictator.
As I recall, I got an "A" for that paper.
A couple of years later, I have no doubt that I would have received an "F".
:D :D :D :D

That's terrible! Hopefully, Amazon UK will do the right thing.
Good morning. We are going to see the tour of "Beautiful" today.
We loved it in New York last year and can't wait 'til it comes to Cincinnati in the spring!
Well, crap. The technician left and it turns out that this DVR is screwed up and can't return some signal that makes OnDemand possible. I now have to swap out a DVR again. :P
They are our Christmas presents to each other... But they won't be ready for 8 weeks!!

I just finished listening to UNSUNG SHERMAN. So full of heart and joy. I'll play it tomorrow a couple of times and really listen. I did love the 13 Clocks songs right off the bat.
Oh my gawd...
I have SACD.
:) :) :) :) :)
So, I heard from Amazon.co.uk, and they are crediting me for 50% of the purchase! I about fell over.

Most banks have removed that service.

Methinks the Vixfam does not have good chair karma.

Every time I've glance at today's topic I think it says SCAD, which in my world means Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, the cause of my heart attack 6 years ago.

Is that a satisfactory resolution? Is the condition worth 50% of the price? If you're happy, then congrats! If not, hopefully you can get some restitution from the post office. :-\

I know. But, at least I can take my time to watch what's on it. My other DVR has no problems with OnDemand. And I haven't really watched much On Demand, so it's not been a problem...just another hassle.

DR Joh, have you ever been to the Austin Trail of Lights? It looks amazing.
No. I haven't. It does look nice. DR Druxy, have you toured it?

I have cooked while sick plenty of times, however, I made sure not to cough or sneeze near the food and washed my hands about a zillion times.

You have cooked for other people? And not told them before they arrived?
On their way back from Michigan last night Mary Linda was lamenting that they'd had to cut their visit short to accommodate Rob's work schedule. He created this consolation song for her, to the tune of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game:"
"Take Me Up to the Mitten"
Take me up to the mitten,
Take me back to the farm;
Buy me some paczkis and fresh brown eggs,
Run a 5K and get really sore legs.
Let me root, root, root for the Spartans,
Or Wolverines, if we must.
For there's woods, lakes, wine, and ballet,
In this belt of rust!
I'm about ready to sit in front of a movie. It seems so late, and I'm beat.
We went out and bought a 6-1/2 foot Fraser fir from the church that Kristi grew up in. They do a beautiful job bringing in several hundred really beautiful trees from a farm in Pennsylvania.
Last night Vixdad and I went to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner but today I cooked the turkey breast and we had our very own thanksgiving feast with leftovers enough for lively turkey sandwiches tomorrow

I always feel that turkey sandwiches are best with some life left in them. Did they do a little jig on the plate?
