Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 73, and now it is time for you to post until the 73 cows come home.

Kind of scary really, seeing how easy it is to get someone's WIFI password.

I could stay up all night listening to this stunningly beautiful music but I must to bed and of course I shouldn't devour this all so quickly - spread the wealth, but I've now got Villa-Lobos' complete string quartets on their way and also a newer and complete recording of Forest of the Amazon, played by the orchestra who did the Choros and Bachianas, and the same conductor - that happens to be an SACD disc.

I'm ready for physical therapy this morning.  I'll leave around 8:30.  I need to make a bank stop before i head to 95th Street. I've printed out the results of my knee X-ray for the therapist.

Looks like about an inch, but it's a solid covering.

Should be stopping within the hour, and hopefully the rising temperature will take it away.

And thus does winter kick off ... with a CLASSIC Monday morning.

Monday morning greetings!  I have busy couple of days ahead.  Current Events Club holiday luncheon today at the Presbyterian church up the street and AAUW's December meeting this evening at the Methodist church we used to attend.  Tomorrow is the Dayton grantwriters' holiday luncheon.  'Tis the season...

TOD:

Nothing too different or unique.  Got a few little musical gigs to play the week before Christmas and a couple of par-tays to attend.  Christmas day will be spent exchanging a few gifts with the housemates, watching holiday stuff, and lazying about the house.  We'd enjoy going out to a movie that afternoon if there's one worth seeing, but I haven't checked into that.

Let's start page two off with some fried chicken, shall we?

This is the place that, several years ago, I asked if anyone could clue me in on just what and where it was.  All I'd remembered was Wilshire Blvd., somewhere in or near the Miracle Mile.  I knew I wasn't describing it right (and my memory was conflating it with something else, so it remained a mystery for a while.

Well, it's been very hard to find -- and I never would have remembered the name "Flying Saucer"! -- but it was on the northeast corner at Cochran.

Back from a lovely holiday luncheon that included entertainment by Purple Pizazz, the Middletown High School Show Choir.  They were in jeans and Middie sweatshirts/T-shirts because, as their director explained, their costumes (ordered in September) had not yet arrived from the rental agency.  Their winter concert is Thursday night and she was able to announce at the end of their performance that she'd received a text indicating that the delivery had been made to the school.  Whew!

My SACD Chorus Line also just showed up, and as soon as I've taken care of some chores that need to be done right away, I'll give it a listen.  I threw it on the regular CD player which didn't recognize it, so this one's a "pure" SACD.

Because there's a lot of silver-toned metal, I couldn't get a good angle without a lot of glare, and you couldn't see much without the flash, so hopefully, this is good enough.

It says "Washington" above and below an actual Washington state quarter, which is upside down in this picture.  It's actually slightly lower and to the left of the Santorini, not directly below.

I went online a few hours ago to pay my Discover card bill and discovered that someone had gotten my account number and was going hither and yon on Lyft using it. Ugh! I phoned Discover and canceled the card. They did it very quickly and are Fedexing me a new card. I use my Discover card a LOT, plus it's embedded in quite a few of my online accounts. I've only had a Discover card for 4 or 5 years and this will be my third card. Their customer service is excellent, but it does seem like this card gets hacked more than my others.

DR Jeanne, I am so sorry to hear about this.

I love the fact that this is a series about a number of strong women. I think Olivia is my favorite. She's really surprised me. They have written her character arc probably best of all.

I've started watching Creed. It's not bad. I doubt I'll enjoy it the way I liked the first Rocky back when I was in high school.

Can you make it so they email you after every purchase?  It makes it easier to know right away if something is wrong.

That's a good idea.  It'd be a hassle if you use it a lot, but it could help you (and anyone else who sets it up) to keep track of anomalies.

Be back later.

Started an old-time collection of Christmas stories last night. The first was a funny piece called "The Worst Christmas Story" by Christopher Morley. It was written during Prohibition and was a a perfect way to end the day.

Got another evening call from the doctor. She got my ultrasound results back. No answers. They're going to go back and compare the results with previous CT scans. Who knows what's next. Maybe a biopsy.

What is in a Love Salad?

It's a salad with lettuce and cabbage, sliced almonds, crispy ramen noodles, and a dressing.  I don't know exactly what kind of dressing it is, but it makes me think it's kind of peanut sauce.  You can also get it with various kinds of chicken (regular, spicy, teritaki) or tofu.  It's very tasty.
