A Very Happy Birthday to(former?)occasional DR DakotaCelt!!
She posted this year.
Healing vibes for Ginny.
Hugs for Elmore.
Friday morning greetings! We've been out for my post-op appointment with the eye doctor, who is quite pleased with my progress. I'm very glad not to look like the Phantom of the Opera any more.
As far as I can tell from the television promos, HIDDEN FIGURES is the true story about how the Mercury Project, including the first US man in space John Glenn, was really accomplished by three sassy mamas who did all the work while everyone else at NASA stood around and wrung their hands......

DR elmore I hope you recharge your batteries, what I call down time, today and feel more positive tomorrow.

That's not what I got from the movie preview, although the preview does push the sassiness and comedy. I had the impression the film deals with the unsung people who went uncredited, possibly because of race, and who were as important to the success as the ones who got full credit. I've been there. Several times.

Thanks! I actually feel much better already.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. Their real story is amazing. Don't know how Hollywood the movie will be.

This and the preview for "Beauty and the Beast" were the only films I want to see. The previews for this Guy Ritchie King Arthur epic and Wonder woman looked like a lot of hyper-inflated CGI effects and no more.

You want people in your movies? How limited is that?
😄

Day before yesterday, the AC was called for. Last night the heat came on. Today's high will be less than 60. Tomorrow it will be warm, sunny and in the 70s.
Elmore - great to hear the financial situation!
But sorry to hear that today you're feeling down.
Oh, and glad the heavier blouse I would have taken was a shade of orange. I don't wear orange during the holiday season as it tends to clash with the decor.
Yes i bought my copy. Does your library often have such short e-books?
Sometimes but the original publish date was Jan 3rd. I just purchased it.
Every action has a reaction. Yesterday was a good day, and today is a downer. I'm relatively healthy, better off financially than I've been for the past three years, but I'm very depressed today. At 7:00 this morning, I cancelled therapy and stayed in bed. I finally forced myself to get up and dress just after 9:00.

Orange never clashes in Texas. It's the UT school color.

Are you sure? The 4th Man only came out this week on Dec 27th
HERE (http://www.theroot.com/articles/culture/2016/09/hidden-figures-meet-the-black-female-math-geniuses-who-helped-win-the-space-race/) an article on the book upon which the movie is based. There's also a link to the Amazon listing of the book.
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep and awoke (at eleven) to the news that L.A. Now and Then won an Eddon Award for Unique/Special Event - not sure how we were that rather than a production of a new musical but we'll take what we can get!

According to Goodreads it was Jan 3rd. Either they were wrong or it was released early.
Got a new tortellini soup happening in the crock pot as the laundry spins, the dogs bark and lamps are being repaired.

Oh I thought you were saying it came out January 2016. yes the date was supposed to be January 2017 but they decided to move it up by a week.
Everything is practically sold out at the matinee today. Manchester by the Sea, sold out. Fences, sold out. Moana, sold out. Got one of the last three seats to La La Land because it's still 40 minutes away.

I just checked here and "Passengers" has seats available. I'm going to the 7:35 showing tonight, but I'm going to get the tickets now so that we won't have to worry about it selling out.

Well, this year just couldn't end without one final slap in the face. Unbelievable really.

I can't go into what happened, but it's stupid, financial, and I've just about had it, truly. In fact, I may have had it.

~~~Vibes of All Kinds for BK!!~~~
DR Ginny, glad to hear your first surgery went well. During the month between my two eye surgeries I couldn't see well. I couldn't drive and had trouble reading. There was just too much of a difference between my eyes. You don't have long to wait for the second surgery. Your eyes may be able to make the adjustment better than mine did, too.
Vibes to BK for a successful resolution!
I made THIS for dinner. It was quite yummy-lishes
