Post by: elmore3003 on January 02, 2017, 06:00:52 AM: I had a very pleasant New Year's Day working on music and cooking. Much of the day was taken u with vegetable beef soup. In the morning, while the beef and stock cooked, I chopped up cauliflower and cabbage. After noon, I removed the beef, strained the stock, and while the beef cooled, I added the canned tomatoes, cabbage, and cauliflower to the broth. I finished my chart for "The Great Indoors."

I shredded the cooled beef and peeled and chopped up potatoes and carrots, all of which went into the soup, then I proofread the utility of "Take Me Back To Manhattan." When the potatoes were tender, I added frozen peas, corn, green beans and lima beans. The last thing to go in was chopped celery, and I turned off the heat to let pots cool.

Rob Berman called about "The Great Indoors," and that was my day. By 5:30, the soup was in the freezer and by 6:00 the kitchen was cleaned. I'll have some of the soup for lucfh today and see how it turned out.

After a late lunch, I came home, had a nap then watched two movies and a Brokenwood mystery.

I finished the first draft of a column I'd been meaning to write, cleaned up a tiny bit (almost not enough to notice), played with the bird and listened to some music.

I gave the scotch to her nurse and the cookies to Mom. We then did our own grocery shopping and now I'm settled in for the Rose Bowl.

He liked the board books we gave him for Christmas and, with some coaching, said "Thank You." Before and after their visit we watched pro football and I continued the eye drop routine. As of today, I'm doing the post-op dosage in my right eye and the pre-op in my left. Fortunately, they gave me a checklist that makes the process as idiot-proof as possible.

You are lucky not to have to wait too long between surgeries. May the next one go smoothly.

I don't feel sick today, but I haven't wanted to push it, either. I had a surprisingly productive day of laundry and bill-paying, and even started one of my tax tallies. I said productive, not exciting, right?

I empathize with DR Chas--this thing doesn't want to go away. Mine hasn't been bad, just stubborn.

If the temps warm up I should be better, if not then I will take something. I feel like I took enough during the bronchitis stage. The pollen count is really bad here which might be part of it. My eyes have been terribly itching and swollen.

Yes, DR Jeanne, next surgery is Thursday.

The drops I'm using at home aren't too bad, but some of the ones they have me right before surgery were real stingers.

When I volunteered at the nursing home I don't know if anyone drank on the premises. One time there was a field trip I did not volunteer to participate, a night out at a bar ;D

I never had a cold or flu, just bronchitis. I have not tried Sambucol. I am interested if it helps others.
