Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of eating too much, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they ate too much tuna pasta salad, too.
-
And the word of the day is: PUNDIT!
-
First post after BK!
-
Second post after BK!

THE MAN WHO ATE TOO MUCH. The latest Brian de Palma homage to Hitchcock.

THE MAN WHO ATE TOO MUCH. The latest Brian de Palma homage to Hitchcock.
First post after TCB's Brian de Palma joke.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I'm having lots of strange dreams this week. Last nightI dreamed that I had begun a theatre company in Middletown, and I was working on a production of Al Carmines; Promenade. Then I seemed to be in a strange mall near the New York State Theatre Institute with several musical instrument shops. I was with someone - I have no idea! - and we were looking into shops to find the source of the harp we heard. We did.
-
This is a day at home: laundry, proof-reading several scores, Guys & Dolls, as well as phone calls to my accountant and an email to my doctor.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had a good solid sleep, and woke up with nary a cough or a sneeze in sight.
-
And that, my people, is a wonderful feeling.
-
I did, however, compute it to be Thursday for a few minutes. For that I shall blame these weird four-day weeks.

Vibes DR Kerry is doing well!

The laundry is in the washers. Now what's for breakfast?
-
Wednesday morning greetings! One more day of lying low with mismatched eyes - by this time tomorrow, the second surgery will be over and we should be on our way home.
-
Mega vibes for DR Kerry!!!
-
Hope DRs JRand and ChasSmith are feeling better, too.
-
DR TCB, you asked the other day if I'd noticed the brighter colors yet. Maybe a little with my right eye, but I expect the effect to be more dramatic when both eyes are working together.
-
I'm having lots of strange dreams this week.
You state this as if it is a new occurrence ;)
-
I must get ready to brave the wind and cold to walk over to the board meeting. Some folks, myself included, want a dog park here. We have tons of lawn but dogs must be on leashes. I get that but it would be nice for them to have a play area besides the beach.
-
Continued good vibes for Kerry!
-
Ron, how are you today?
-
Vibes for DR GINNY!!
-
Continued vibes for MR BK.
-
DR ELMORE - the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream is related to the passing of your friend....and that discovering the source of the harp music and looking into the shops indicates that you have accepted the passing and will always hold it in high regard...no regrets - only good memories and a realization that the past invades our present only as much as we allow it to.
-
....today the movie would be titled The Man Who 8 Too Much....just to be hip and with it and now.....
-
My nephew Trent - with his lung transplant - posted a short video of himself playing basketball....for the the first time in 5 years.....

Thank you DR GINNY....we are most pleased with his recovery.
I am on the mend DR JOHN G...thanks for asking.
-
Good morning.
-
My DH bought another turkey -- the fourth this season. I just got it into the oven a bit ago. I figure I have a few hours to take the bus to visit Kerry. One of the prescriptions I took this morning in prep for tomorrow's dental surgery is making me a little lightheaded, and I don't want to drive.
-
JRand, what a miraculous recovery for your nephew!
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep and soon I will futz and finesse.
-
Yes DR LAURA.....he was so determined, his doctors put him on the fast track for transplant, and he is justifying their confidence in him.
-
I am lightheaded, but I didn't take any medicine....must be genetic.
-
Vibes DR Kerry is doing well!

That's wonderful, Jrand! Great news!!
-
Great news about your nephew, JRAND. (My spellcheck wants to make your name all caps.)
And glad you're feeling better.
-
Our best to DR Kerry, Laura. (I, too, do not require drugs to make me lightheaded.)
-
Listening to Ravel in between meetings. Great tonic.
-
Elmore, what's the best airport to fly into NYC? I'm starting to price tickets.

I hope the bus ride was an easy trip and you find DR Kerry better than yesterday.
-
Yes DR LAURA.....he was so determined, his doctors put him on the fast track for transplant, and he is justifying their confidence in him.
So not only are you happy for him, you are also proud of his efforts and hard work to succeed.

I probably would have read the word correctly with a quick glance ;D

Who'd-a thought it?
-
Thank you, DR JRand66.
-
Elmore, what's the best airport to fly into NYC? I'm starting to price tickets.
Depends on where you are staying, DR JohnG! I find Kennedy a real schlep, and for me on the Upper West Side, I prefer LaGuardia. Newark is good for midtown, though.
-
DR Elmore, I'm sorry to hear about Peggy...
Was there an obituary in the paper?
-
My nephew Trent - with his lung transplant - posted a short video of himself playing basketball....for the the first time in 5 years.....
Fantastic news!

DR JohnG, I don't know if DR Ginny is doing her usual Air B&B; perhaps you could all go in together?
-
My Previn set of the complete Tchaikovsky Ballets arrived this afternoon!

Procedure VIBES for DRs Laura and Ginny, and continuing health vibes for DR Kerry!

DR JohnG, I don't know if DR Ginny is doing her usual Air B&B; perhaps you could all go in together?
I like that. Just give me a plug for my bipap and a pillow.

I just popped by to make sure my avatar isn't getting as old as I am.

None of us is. Dorian Greys of the world, unite!

DR Elmore, I'm sorry to hear about Peggy...
Was there an obituary in the paper?
Nothing today, but I'll watch for it.
-
Thanks DR ELMORE.....and other DR's.....yes DR JANE we are very proud of his continued efforts....he follows the doctor's orders strictly.....
All caps are okay DR JOHN G

I like that. Just give me a plug for my bipap and a pillow.
Our favorite apartments are no longer available and I'm kind of skittish about trying something new. We'll try for one of the 46th Street hotels we like.
-
Jrand - what wonderful news about Trent!
-
I just popped by to make sure my avatar isn't getting as old as I am.
How are you going to celebrate your birthday?
-
Thanks for the vibes. I will be glad when it is over. Like Ginny will be.
-
The bus ride was an adventure. I think we stopped at every stop. Six wheelchairs/scooters got on board. The 40-minute ride took an hour and a half.
-
I missed the deal of a lifetime, though. A man announced that he would give his one-hundred dollar bill to anyone who had a 2008 penny.
-
He also said he drove the Happy Bus.
-
How are you going to celebrate your birthday?
Thanks for asking! My friends are taking me to dinner at "Fogo de Chao" in Beverly Hills. Good thing I'm not a vegetarian, huh? :)
-
Welcome back, BrettySpaghetti!
-
Welcome back, Bretty. And Happy Birthday!
-
I just popped by to make sure my avatar isn't getting as old as I am.
Hi BrettySpaghetti it is nice to see you :)

The joys of riding the bus.

I have been listening to The Happiest Girl in the World and On the Town OCRs today.
Tempted to purchase the 2009 studio cast recording of Allegro as a birthday gift to myself.
Cast recordings I intend to explore in the near future: Wonderful Town, Bright Star, By Jupiter, Little Me and Irma La Douce.
Also just became aware of a Bacharach/David show called On the Flip Side.

Return tomorrow and I will wish you happy birthday again :)
-
How is DR Kerry?
-
Well, it's hard to say. He will be there for a while, I think.
-
If anyone would like to send DR Kerry a card, pm me and I will give you my mailing address and make sure he gets them.

My Previn set of the complete Tchaikovsky Ballets arrived this afternoon!
Today, I received W.A. Mozart: The Complete Operas (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J9792NU/) (all 22) on 33 DVDs!
The Complete Mozart Operas, including his early and lesser-known operas, every Singspiel, and orchestration of scenic fragments, presented in the most beautiful edition ever created. This collection, the largest audio-visual Mozart project of all time, presents over 47 hours of live recordings, 112 solo performers, 14 directors and 16 conductors including 12 orchestras.
On these complete live recordings, which were the culmination of the Mozart Year celebration in 2006, all the Salzburg Festival s own productions appear a marathon of music on 33 High Definition DVDs in 5.1 Surround Sound, presented in this deluxe edition.
Included are - making-of - bonus material, artist interviews and rehearsal excerpts, providing insight into the Festivals preparation and an introduction to the music, making this Edition invaluable to Mozart scholars as well as concert-goers. Many of the lesser-known works included in this set had not been seen in any video format before this set was originally issued.
I received a financial thank you from DR Elmore for some DVDs that I had sent him, and applied that to this purchase, so that alone would have made it cost less than the price of $82.70+$3.99 shipping. But with my Amazon gift certificate for Christmas, it was essentially free! :D
-
Right now, I'm listening to a CD that I got last week: Bumblescratch (http://www.dresscircle.com/cd/10976-bumblescratch-london-concert-cast-cd-5065001707315.html), the London concert cast recording with music and lyrics by Robert J. Sherman, nephew of BK's close and personal friend, Richard M. Sherman! It's quite delightful and a lot of fun!
-
Had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich for lunch, then picked up some packages.
-
Then I had to call my bank to straighten out a couple of charges I didn't understand - they were fine, though - what wasn't fine was being on hold for almost two hours, which are just two lost hours as I couldn't write while listening to that endless music and chatter.
-
Right now, I'm listening to Bumblescratch[/url], the London concert cast recording with music and lyrics by Robert J. Sherman...
I WANT THAT!
-
I futzed and finessed quite a bit, and I've only written a couple of pages - this is the part where it gets a little more intricate and I must keep the flow going and haven't quite figured that out yet, so today and tonight may be slow going.

I've uploaded all of Swan Lake, and 2/3 of The Sleeping Beauty. I spoke to the copyist about fixes in my scores for next week's reading, and I've set my appointment in late Feb. for my taxes with my accountant.

Thanks. Very tuneful! I also got to preview four tracks from the CD at the musical's official website.

I've done about five pages so far - some amusing stuff on the last couple of pages that made me laugh. Five or six more to go, but I think I'll take a hot shower right now and see what comes to me, then do two or three more, then relax for a bit.
-
Good evening!

Ha!
I looked up the restaurant since it is in Beverly Hills and notice there is also one in Portland. Since I am a vegetarian I will not be eating at either location ;)
-
I've begun watching Dancing on the Edge, but it's not holding my interest. I'd rather watch the repeats of Downton Abbey on PBS.

If we still lived in Ashland Keith would have spent the day shoveling snow. It is nice not to have to worry about that and just look at photos on facebook of our friends, people & dogs, playing in it.
-
Taking a break and then at some point later I'll do another two pages or so as I've already done nine. It's drizzling out.
-
Hello, everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to BRETTYSPAGHETTI!
Merci! (It's not until Friday)
But you may not return for another year or two!
-
Seize the day!
-
I had therapy today. My therapist said he's been sick--and he NEVER gets sick! I'm glad he's better now.
-
Health vibes to all!
-
But you may not return for another year or two!
Or three, but who's counting?
I will try to return more often...if it weren't for Bruce, I wouldn't even know it was drizzling outside.
-
Happy birthday! Has On the Flip Side ever been released on CD?
Thank you!
Not sure if there was an official release of OTFS, but all of the tracks seem to be available for free on YouTube.
Cool. I'll check them out. Thank you. I have a vinyl copy. Somewhere.

Listening to the symphonies of Kurt Atterberg. I had a few of these, which I put into iTunes but the sound was so awful I nuked them and got a complete set with different performances and that one is marvelously marvelous.
-
Atterberg isn't Sibelius, but there quite melodic and very beautiful.
-
There are nine of them.
-
Can't tell if it's still drizzling or not.
-
I'll take a hot shower in about fifteen minutes and then write some more pages, two or three.
-
In fact, if I do three, I may just finish the chapter I'm on. While the first chapter is VERY long, none of the other chapters will be.
-
Watching an odd little movie called Southside With You. It's a fictional take on Barack and Michelle's first date. It's surprisingly moving at times, even if it's also didactic. Two exceptionally good performers, unknowns, in the lead roles.

I enjoyed it. Reminded me a little of "Before Sunset" and "Before Sunrise." Two people walking, talking, getting to know each other. The actors didn't try to impersonate their real-life counterparts, but did a good job capturing their essence.
-
I liked all of it but the speech in the middle.
-
It did help show the character, but it was also preachy.
-
And now for something completely different: The Lobster.
-
Six!
-
I'll tell you something - when writing a book the shower is the greatest creative force there is. I just took one and every time I do I come up with really good stuff - this time I came up with something absolutely incredible that I could not be happier about. I now have to adjust everything I've written in minor ways, but that won't take any time at all, and then the next chapter and section will be really fun to write. I should get at least twenty pages out of this. Now, I'm going to meet a mom and her daughter and I damn well may just have a damn piece of pie!

And the pie!
-
Continued idea and writing vibes for MR BK.
-
But DR ELMORE how can you not like it? It's "intelligently written" and "brilliantly acted."
I'm sure Carroll Baker felt that same way about many of her movies.....even the Italian ones.
-
The Lobster is strange. I may be too tired to appreciate the humor.
Or too old.
-
Good night, all.
-
My apologies for being E&T.
-
Strongest vibes for DR Kerry
-
Laura will it be ok to add him to our prayer list ?
-
Elmore I am so sorry about Peggy
-
Continued eye vibes for Ginny

Dental vibes for Laura

I had my dental appointment tonight, the crowns for my implants did not fit properly so they were taken out again and I have to go back on the 14th for another go

The Lobster is strange. I may be too tired to appreciate the humor.

That's the excuse I used.
God, did I hate that movie.
Worst I saw in 2016, and I saw 70+ movies.
-
I had my dental appointment tonight, the crowns for my implants did not fit properly so they were taken out again and I have to go back on the 14th for another go
That is disappointing. I hope you don't have to wait too long for the new crown.
-
I had chicken strips instead of pie - they were great.
-
And now I shall write two more pages and be done for the night.
-
Laura will it be ok to add him to our prayer list ?
I'm sure he would appreciate it very much.
-
Good evening!
-
I think I am ready for tomorrow's eye surgery.
-
Hopefully.
-
Health vibes to all who still need them.
-
It sounds like the Spring Do is going to be a good one.
-
It is still freezing cold here.
-
Literally!
-
But by Saturday is supposed to warm back up to the forties.
-
I can't wait.
-
Page Seven!
-
Page seven? Really?
-
Finished with my writing. I wrote close to twelve pages, but went a little astray in one part, realized a better way, and that's where I'll pick up in the morning.
-
Continued idea and writing vibes for MR BK.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
I think I am ready for tomorrow's eye surgery.
