Well, you've read the notes, the notes had some close encounters, and now it it time for you to post until the close cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GAMBOL!
-
Really? First after BK!
-
That hasn't happened in ages, or at least a long time.
-
Good morning to all
-
ASK bK
Have you thought about doing an Indiegogo to do more Out Of The Box episodes?
-
W a cure having a hat wave ! 41 degrees the snow is fading away
-
Let's all coordinate for New Yorker tickets , please.
-
What is best Elmore, Friday, Saturday?
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Rob and I are going soon to help move the AAUW book sale from our storage unit to the 2017 sale venue. He's doing the heavy lifting and I'm providing a vehicle that is more spacious than it looks.
-
What is best Elmore, Friday, Saturday?
We have another commitment Saturday evening, so I'd prefer Friday or a Saturday matinee, if there is one.
-
Good morning, all!
-
What is best Elmore, Friday, Saturday?
I do not have an answer, but it's been my observation from seeing so many Saturday matinees and the talkback after that by Saturday the show's in pretty good shape by then. You might want to consider the Saturday matinee. The talkbacks after are a lot of fun.
-
W a cure having a hat wave ! 41 degrees the snow is fading away
We are too. But we still have lots of snow. I think it is high 30s here.
-
I overslept, but I'm blaming it on my being out for dinner and getting to bed later than usual.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am heading back down to City Center this morning. I don't know if Joshie will need me, but I would like to be there to offer any help for tomorrow's orchestra reading that I can. I also need to stop by the post office for stamps and a subway station to refull my Metrocard.
-
Woke to the sight of a completely thawed and cleared driveway. A lovely vision.
-
We're up to 50 today, and 54 tomorrow. And do you hear me complaining? Why, no sir!
-
I believe tickets go a bit faster for the Saturday matinee with talkback (I have yet to be there for one, myself) -- so if we're going to try to coordinate for that performance, let's do it now.

Good morning, all.
-
The Saturday matinee with the talkback sounds wonderful.
-
Ask BK:
Have you ever recorded any symphonic works? Are there any you'd like to do?
-
It's supposed to get into the 80s today, but the pollen is so bad that being outdoors tonight for the Cocktail Conference isn't sounding too good.
-

I know the feeling. Last night I was thinking we need to shovel our little back patio. Keith reminded me we don't have to use it. What a nice feeling it is to know we can wait until the snow melts, no matter how long that takes :)

Sorry.

i love a good talkback at a show!

Inaugural vibes for DR GEORGE.....he will get to see everyone all dressed up!
I watch Muse Margaret's father in a movie last night that I had never seen....Red Skelton and Jean Hagan in "Half a Hero"......a young married couple move to the suburbs....sort of a Mr. Blandings light.......
-
Continued writing vibes for MR BK.
-
Vibes for DR Kerry. I wonder what time he'll be home today.

Happy Wednesday.
I left work at 1:30 p.m. on Monday and was out all day yesterday.
I slept and slept and slept and slept.
I feel ever so much better today and am back at work.

That's excellent, DR Ron.

ASK bK
Have you thought about doing an Indiegogo to do more Out Of The Box episodes?
I've thought about it - that ship may have sailed, although I do have another season pretty much ready to go and have had for over three years.
-
Ask BK:
Have you ever recorded any symphonic works? Are there any you'd like to do?
Not actual symphonic works, no. I'm not sure how much interest that would hold for me.

I'm up, I'm up - a bit over seven hours of sleep.

Thanks, Jrand! It should be fun and interesting. I've never worked coatcheck before, and this event isn't at the WCPA, it's at the actual Capitol Building.

I am having a problem with my network connection. I'll get a ticket. I tried to get one near you, Vixmom and the network went out.
The wind is blowing. That may be the problem

Ad I am home from City Center. I assembled all the full scores for me and Joshie (one set) and a set for the copyist.
I must admit I am going into tomorrow's orchestra reading of the scores so far with the same enthusiasm and trepidation I do on every project: I'll be fired before the day is over. I felt the same way at Liz Callaway's first recording session with BK in 1994. Some neuroses never change.

We don't have snow boots anymore ;D

You'll be fine, Larry. I finally got my ticket. Row C of the Grand Tier.
-
All sorts of wonderful people coming to the show!
-
Well, this is exciting! And thank you, all, for the ego boost tomorrow. I always go through stage fright before the first whatever: will it sound as I imagined? Did I paint myself into a corner? Will the folk who hired me feel secure about what I've done? Can I repair any messes I've made before they sack me? If I can't look brilliant, can I at least come off as competent or adequate?

I feel that way during dance competitions.

reminds me of that song Doris Day sings in "Please Don't Eat the Daisies":
"Any way the wind blows, any way the wind blows..."

Kerry is home.
:) :) :)
How is he feeling?
-
I haven't talked to him yet today. I heard from his friend.
-
Had a very slow start to the day, due to a visit from Jason Graae, who picked up some CDs. I hadn't seen him in a while so we talked for about thirty minutes. Then I did a little futzing and finessing - about half, then I went and had a bacon cheeseburger and no fries or onion rings, then picked up a tiny package and came home.
-
I futzed and finessed the rest, adding two new pages as I did so, so I've written two new pages and will try to write an additional five right now, after which I'll take a break.
-
I haven't talked to him yet today. I heard from his friend.
Thanks. I expect he is tired after his trip home.

The snow is beautiful. However, you may have it.

This is off of facebook so I am not sure everyone can see it. It is of Esther Short Park that we often walk to.

I agree, in that I would rather not have it anymore. I liked it best in Ashland when I could see it up in the mountains above us.
-
I just hope it isn't icy tomorrow when I go to the clubhouse to work out. If it is bad maybe I can get the manager to drive me in his little golf cart type car.

Yay for kerry being home

Yay for all the tickets for the new New Yorkers being bought

Nice picture, Jane!
-
Only three pages so far but I'm really happy with what I just wrote and it also fixed something that was driving me batty. I have chapter titles for this book - I haven't done that since the Kritzer books - and I really am happy with them so far, except the one for the current chapter I'm on - I went through three or four and hated all of them, but just couldn't think of anything that made me happy. And then I wrote a paragraph that ended with a really good line and I knew instantly that was the chapter title - and I didn't even take a shower. :) But I will later. Now I'll try to at least bang out one more page, maybe two, before I take a break.
-
Calming vibes for Elmore
You'll be swell you'll be great
-
Clear the decks Clear the tracks you've got nothing to do but relax
-
Wrote another page and will break now and then do seven more over the course of the evening. At least that's the goal.
-
Our downtown.
Nice picture, Jane!
Thanks. I only stole it off of the newspaper website.

On days like this is is nice not to walk half a mile to the mailbox. Ours is completely sheltered. I did put a coat on as it is a bit chilly out. There are skylights with planters under them. The trees in the planters look very pretty covered in snow.

Joshie is crying the saddest, most pitiful cry. He sounds like he is in terrible pain.
He is sitting by and pawing at the "Greenies" bag. He loves his Greenies.

Be back later!

Home from the conference opener. It was a showcase for the Girl Scouts. Cocktails were paired with cookies. Got to try the new S'mores. Nice. Very sweet.
-
Watching the 1956 Peter Pan broadcast with Mary Martin. It may not be in color but it's wonderful stuff.
-
Have done nine-and-a-half pages, so I'll take a hot shower shortly and do the other page and a half after that. Hoping to finish the chapter I'm on.

That is a new way to sell cookies.
-
Starting the 1955 broadcast of Peter Pan, which is on the same Blu and Ray. The quality may be a little less than the 1956 but, in the first scene at least, some of the closeups and camera shots are actually better and a little more interesting.
There's nothing like Mary Martin in either version.

Wow the Vixter should have tried that in her Girl Scout days

I've been listening to a reading of Plutarch's Lives, which is going on forever (I think it's 66 discs total). I'm almost through with the first half and think I'll wait on part two.
Anyway, the reader is British and he keeps pronouncing the name of Syracuse as Sigh-rah-cuse. Makes me wonder what the British version of The Boys of Syracuse would be like. Would the song become "Dire Old Sigh-rah-cuse"?
-
I am getting very excited about the New Yorkers HHW meetup

Our little 7 year old friend is selling Girl Scouts cookies for the first time. She has a website to order them on. A minimum of 4 boxes is needed to ship them. It brought to mind when we purchased them from the Vixter 🌝
-
DR John did you try the new toffee-tastic cookies?
-
Finished the page and a half pre-shower, then showered, got a great idea that will work beautifully towards the end of the book, and two other ideas for the section I was in - so I wrote all that down, then just did another page and a half for a total of twelve and a half pages - so I'm ahead for tomorrow, which is lovely.

Me too!

Good evening!

I am disappointed that we didn't get any snow.

I am disappointed that I won't be in New York in March.

Well, I must be off. It's time for me to head to the ball! The Governor's Inaugural Ball, that is. I hope I can find a parking space easily!
Be back later!
Well, working coat check was fun. We were in tents in front of the capitol building, but there were heaters pumping in warm air, so we were not cold at all. There was a monitor across the aisle from where we were, showing what was happening in the big party area, and we got to wander around (and partake of) the foodstuffs when our shift was over.
-
Working was pretty easy, just taking the coats, scarves, and some bags, but no purses, giving the people the numbers, and hanging up the coats. We chatted and people-watched and had a good time.
-
I am disappointed that I don't have any M & M's in the house.
-
I am thrilled that DR Kerry is home.
-
I am delighted that DR Ron is feeling better.

From what I could find online, they estimated 3,000 to attend.

At $100.00 a ticket, that isn't bad.

Outdoor tents would have been a disaster if we had gotten Portland's snow.

Outdoor tents would have been a disaster if we had gotten Portland's snow.
I know! It was kind of cold, but the heaters really did help.

I was thinking about the weight of a foot of snow on the tents.
