Well, you've read the notes, the notes snapped to it, and now it is time for you to post until the snappy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LATERIGRADE!
-
Good morning.
-
Wow, last post and first post. That, fortunately, doesn't happen very often.
-
good morning to all
-
Good morning, all.
-
Slept in a little bit, and have the crazy dream to prove it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Add me to the crazy dream list. Can't quite remember all of it.
-
I watched that 1978 SNL last night. Most enjoyable. It's funny, though -- I have those first five season sets, and never think to take them down off their high shelf and watch them.
-
Well, we have our damned inch of snow on the driveway. Damn that inch! I'm hoping it's light enough for the leaf blower to move.
-
Good morning, all!
-
The neighbor above me is losing points. Fast. This morning, she arrived home at 3:30am and I was treated to too much thumping of shoes before she settled down. I slep poorly last night - no Aleve PM! - and I was not amused. I don't think she has any idea that she's bothering me, but she will. Soon.
-
I am not leaving the apartment today. I need to ralk over some New Yorkers things with Rob Berman, but i plan to spend much of the day dealing with Guys and Dolls.
-
Good morning. The yeast is foaming and the pork is in the crockpot.

This sounds like the witches preparing for Macbeth when the hurlyburly's done. Did you invite my brother and Lady M for lunch? :)
-
Be careful, DR Elmore. Don't fling water at DR Laura. You could get a sizzling meltdown or some kind of explosion.
-
Sunday morning greetings! 3/4 of our household went to church and I stayed home for some solitude. I've been opening several weeks' worth of Mom's mail, balancing her checkbook, and such. I hope I don't live long enough for Rob to have to do this stuff for me...

DR Laura scares me to death!

Did you ever play that Christmas Oratorio?

Yes, while taking down Christmas decorations. It's as glorious as ever - thank you!
-
Just pulled off another successful leaf-blowing of the snow!
-
I just had a nice phone call with Rob Berman, who's very happy with the reading last Thursday. We went through questions on "I Happen To Like New York," which goes to the copyist today, what he needs to get to me in the next few days, and problems/adjustments to go into a few scores we heard on Thursday.
-
Our bad weather warning has been lifted without ever being fulfilled, and the forecast for the coming week is rain with temps in the 40's. I'll take it.
-
Damn weather people, never fulfilling their promises...
-
Just pulled off another successful leaf-blowing of the snow!
Gosh that sounds easy. We are still waiting for the temps to warm up and melt our snow.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep, I think.

It is always nice when the warning is not fulfilled. Enjoy your warm temps.

I'm working on getting stronger-- which means I have t o actually do thing instead of letting other people do them.
-
Thanks for your support. You guys are the greates!
-
So glad to see you up and moving around, Kerry.
-
The buns are rising. I took some lemon muffins to the neighbor who lets me pick the lemons. I made a dozen blueberry muffins. The pork is cooling so I can shred it. And the bbq sauce is simmering. I also made a big container of cole slaw.

I'll be over in a few.
-
Hours, that is. I think it would take quite a few to drive all the way to Arizona.
-
So glad to see you up and moving around, Kerry.
You can say that again.
-
Just keep improving DR Kerry!!!

DR Kerry,

Futzed and finessed quite a bit, the helper came over briefly, I printed out pages, Xeroxed pages, had an omelet and an English muffin, and brought pages to Muse Margaret, who will read them at some point today.
-
And now I must write some new pages and finish this chapter I am currently on. Since I was ahead, I really only have to write eight pages today.
-
A Bigger Splash was a surprise. I didn't know it was inspired by The Swimming Pool, which I really like.
-
Good news from DR KERRY.
-
I've written about four new pages (in addition to the two I'd done in advance) so there's about five left to go. I'll take a little break now, then try to finish at least three of the five. I'm about to end the chapter, and then we're down to the last three chapters (I decided early on exactly the number of chapters I wanted).

Continued writing vibes for MR BK.

Page two? Really?
-
Getting ready to usher a Martin Luther King concert. I don't know who's play or what. But it's only supposed to be an hour long.
-
Page 2?
-
Glad to hear your getting better, DR Kerry!

Ditto!

DR George, we finally saw PASSENGERS and agree with you :)

Slow news day at HHW
-
Muse Margaret called and really liked the new pages - we're both kind of fascinated at how it's turning out - the book is now kind of writing itself and I'm just trying to stay out of its way and let nature take its course. She had a few simple notes, all concentrated on two specific pages and all having to do with adding more detail. The way I wrote it was kind of like a list of things - she wanted to have just a little detail about each thing on the list - it was easy to do and added about half a page overall, and it's better for it. When I was writing that section I just felt I needed to move it along, but I always have to remember in a book you a) have time, and b) just because I know what I'm talking about doesn't mean that others will.
-
Page two? Really?
-
With everything I've already written today and the additions, I really only have two more pages to write. I think I'll take a hot shower now and hope for some good ideas about the beginning of the new chapter - I actually need to figure out the perfect location for the beginning of it, and that hasn't come to me yet.

TCB has his work cut out for him tonight!

-
DR Kevin are you going to leave town next weekend?
-
Correction, this weekend.
-
Shower idea vibes for MR BK.
-
Finally launched the new chapter - pre-shower. I just had to find the right setting and I finally chose one that seemed like it would be fun. Like many of my books, food plays a minor role, in that people eat and I need to know WHERE they eat.
-
But I WILL shower shortly.
-
The concert turned out to be wonderful, but a bit of a mess. The symphony was playing with a choir made up of singers from various churches in town, and their gospel music raised the roof on the place.
The symphony played a movement from Dvorak's 9th symphony and the last two movements of Beethoven's 5th, a warhorse I love to hear live.
-
DR George, we finally saw PASSENGERS and agree with you :)
Great!
-
The messy part was that so many kids were allowed to run wild outside of the theater. I wanted to stomp more of them than Miss Hannigan would have.
-
Page three? Really?
-
Starting to watch Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.
-
Well, Ab Fab is fun in the way that it's nice to catch up with old friends, but it's not a great movie.
-
Does everybody have to work tomorrow?
-
I know there's no mail.
-
But I have to work.
-
Jane Horrocks does a wonderful impersonation of Shirley Bassey in Ab Fab.
-

When I was in Annie, we had a kid wrangler for the kids in the show, but I have no idea what the kids in the audiences were like. I don't remember hearing anything about them being too rambunctious during our run.
-
When I was in Peter Pan, now those kids in the show were too rambunctious, and not in a good way. :P
-
Does everybody have to work tomorrow?
Fortunately, I don't. :D
-
Cranberries!
-
Underpants!
-
I know there's no mail.
Now this is weird...this morning, I had to meet a fellow TAO board member to return an extra key to our theater, and as I was leaving my condo complex, a USPS mail truck was coming into my condo complex! I'd never heard of mail delivery on Sunday, so I have no idea what they were doing out and about on a Sunday.
-
Enjoy your day off, George!
-
Can we get off this page any time soon?
-
Just a few more posts will do it.
-
Well...
-
...since...
-
...we're so close...

Page four? Really?
-
Enjoy your day off, George!
Thanks, John! I will!
-
OK, so the final joke was a ripoff of Some Like It Hot and it manages to work better than most of the jokes in the movie.
-
Good start to season three of A Place to Call Home.
-
A thunderstorm is starting up out there. I may not be able to get much sleep tonight.
-
It sounds like a beauty.
-
Maybe time to read what I can of the last 55 pages of this volume of Proust.
-
Good night, all.
-
Good night, John.
-
Good evening!
-
Page four? Really?
-
This is not a good thing.
-
Today I went to the store and I went to get my mail.
-
But fortunately, no sign of Hell Kitty.
-
I have a feeling that the apartment manager gave them a call.
-
I wouldn't know for sure, since the manager never returned my call.
-
Today was mostly a football watching day.
-
The final two of the four division championship games.
-
There were no surprises in either game.
-
I also spent time working on "the book."
-
I could never write as many pages as BK does in a day.
-
Probably because I don't type that fast.
-
My fingers work much slower than my brain does.
-
At least, I don't watch my hands as I type.
-
But my error rate is pretty high.
-
Still, I got several pages of the book finished.
-
I like where the book is at the moment.
-
I got through the romantic part without much problem.
-
Page Five!
-
I don't exactly shift to waves crashing on the beach, but I do a nice fade-out after the big kiss.
-
It is so wonderful to have DR Kerry back posting.
-
Continued recovery vibes to Kerry!
-
This is a bad weekend for me.
-
Tomorrow (the 16th) is the actual anniversary of the day my mom was killed.
-
But that year it was the Sunday before MLK's birthday.
-
You would think I had gotten over it by now, but it is a powerful event in my life.
-
Anyway, I am in a mood this weekend.
-
I will probably go to the cemetery tomorrow, even though I can't actually get to the grave.
-
I watched my other two Sherlock Holmes films.
-
I know there's no mail.

It seems everyone delivers on Sundays now, even Amazon, for the right price.
-
One of them was TERROR BY NIGHT. Not bad for a murder on the train mystery.
-
DR John, I am glad you enjoyed the concert.
-
I don't exactly shift to waves crashing on the beach
😁
-
The other was THE WOMAN IN GREEN. I love all those old Holmes films.
-
But fortunately, no sign of Hell Kitty.
Good!
-
I will probably go to the cemetery tomorrow, even though I can't actually get to the grave.
I am sorry about that.
-
I never did get around to watching THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN this weekend.
-
I will watch it some day this week.
-
Well, I need to get ready for bed.
-
I'll tell you a little secret about why I write the way I do - it's daunting doing eleven pages a day or even six pages a day (on other books I've done up to fifteen or twenty a day). I do it because I'm afraid I'll lose the momentum and style - I am so exhausted at the end of each day, but I know that's the way I have to do it - to keep it moving along and not give myself time to overthink things or, worse, have to get back into the swing of things in terms of the style and momentum. I just have to do it this way and for me it's really the only way.
-
I did take a lovely hot shower and thankfully straightened out a plot point that was really bugging me and which I couldn't figure out at all - I knew the basic idea of it was okay but what I'd come up with wasn't. But in the shower it all straightened itself out handily and it should work fine now - this is for the next chapter after the one I just started. And figuring out that little plot point led me to something fun for the chapter I just began, so as soon as I got out of the shower I added that and it worked beautifully. I am now on the final three chapters of the book, each of which will probably run twenty-five to thirty pages, which will probably bring the manuscript in at around 260 pages, which is about twenty pages longer than the Adriana books and, in fact, the majority of my books - most of the manuscripts run around 237 pages, which results in a book that runs around 180-something pages. So, this one should come out at around 200 pages, which feels fine to me. After I finish and it's all proofed and ready for Grant to design, I have to decide on one thing that I might or might not want to add as a sort of appendix. It doesn't really need it, but on the other hand, people might enjoy it.

Bruce, I admire your profiecency.

I had Chinese food for dinner, and now I am so thirsty, I can't get over it.
-
Dinner was okay. It was Panda Express.
