Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of lunch and a trek, and now it is time for you to post until the Lunch Trek cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INTRAPRENEUR!
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after TCB!
-
Good night.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
This evening, TAO is having our board meeting. I still need to balance the checkbook by the meeting...and since I can't do it at work, I need to do it now. :P
-
Today at work is going to be kind of sad. My supervisor is leaving Timberland to go to work in Tennessee. She'll be an assistant director in Nashville. Good for her, but not for us. She was a very good supervisor and made some really good changes. We're having a going away party for her today. I'm sure it'll eventually be fine, but it was almost a year between her predecessor retiring and her being hired. Hopefully, it won't take that long, again. :-\
-
And now, to
bed checkbook updating.
8)
-
Good morning to all

TOD
Not good with the titles from the tv series but the two from the original are The City On the edge of Forever, The Trouble With Tribbles.
The most memorable episode for me from Next Generation is the one where Picard lives a lifetime of another man.
The movies my favorite was #4.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Lots of strange dreams, but all I remember now is plotting the Act One staging for Offenbach's La Perichole, something with soldiers' helmets and Peruvian derbys.
-
My cable box is dying. Perhaps I will go to Time Warner Cable tomorrow for a new one.
-
When I return from therapy, I have the "Drinking Song" to work on.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Kay Cole is sining You Are for Loving great Way to start the day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I think I have something of vixmom's again.
-
She really shouldn't leave her things scattered all about the northeast.

A couple of close friends are writers, and I know exactly what TCB is going through with respect to not knowing if or when his friend has read the thing, or is going to read the thing sometime this century and get back to him.
In trying to help one of my friends get a reader one time several years ago, I handed a printout to someone who was very enthusiastic about reading it ..... and that's the last we ever heard or saw of it. We already valued her opinion, no question about that. What we didn't know was that she wasn't someone who can commit to doing something like this in a timely manner, or that she (we now know) tended to take on a lot of things she couldn't possibly follow through on, or that she was about to make a sudden decision to move and that the manuscript would never even surface again.
As BK said, the need for a firm understanding on when the thing will get read, and the even higher need for open communication and follow-through, is something your typical first time well-meaning friend just isn't going to be aware of without these things being plainly discussed up front. I learned this lesson on behalf of my own writer friend, and I totally understand the frustration and feeling of awkwardness TCB is going through in this instance. It's a tough call, giving something like that to someone for the first time.

TOD:
Never been a "Treckie".
-
The Oscar nominations have just been announced and the only nominated film I've seen is HELL OR HIGH WATER, which I liked.
How times have changed.
They're just going to release these movies onto DVD earlier.
-
I was never a Trekkie, either.
-
I hope Isabelle Hupert wins best actress.
-
Surprised at the love for Hacksaw Ridge, which I did not read good reviews of.
-
Beat you by one, Druxy. Saw Hell or High Water and La La Land.
-
Beat you by one, Druxy. Saw Hell or High Water and La La Land.
Yes, but you probably saw them in a theater. I don't go to the movies any longer. I wait for the films to come out on DVD.

TOD
The most memorable episode for me from Next Generation is the one where Picard lives a lifetime of another man.
Every time my ex watched that episode it made him cry - and I mean really cry. My favorite was probably the one where they met aliens who spoke English, but all in metaphors of events and people on their planet, so you still couldn't understand them. I also liked the episode where the doctor is caught in a time warp bubble and thinks everyone on the ship is slowly disappearing, and everyone else just thinks she's crazy.
And my favorite movie is also #4, "The Voyage Home".
-
TOD:
The pilot episode of Deep Space Nine was also very good.
-
Good morning.
-
When I return from therapy, I have the "Drinking Song" to work on.
Be sure to do some research first. And then post. Amuse us all.
-
I have returned from therapy and I'm waiting on my super who's coming by to paint the areas in my bathroom that he repaired and spackled last week.
-
Hello, good morning.
-
I am alive. Crazy as usual.
-
While I have much to report, I have nothing to report.
In the middle of a run of Cabaret which I'm playing the entire synth book on the accordion, mostly due to lack of space in the band area. It's working out well. In rehearsals for Oklahoma, and The Boy Friend = which I LOVE. Also a little revue with some little kids as well as auditioning soon for High School Musical Jr and Disney's Peter Pan Jr at school. Also, picked up a gig playing ...Spelling Bee at the beginning of March.
Can't wait to get to NYC - A little less than 3 months to go!!!
-
On top of all this, I need to find time to see Fun Home - multiple times if it's a good tour - and Finding Neverland which are both in SF.
-
So much for having nothing to report!
-
Oh, and the dogs are GREAT!
-
Good news from DR MATTHEW. Lots of keyboarding!
-
DR ELMORE I don't know those books either, but they look like fun!
-
I tried to like the original Star Trek, but it was slow going for me..... I really liked THE NEXT GENERATION....
My favorite episode was when TNG folks captured a creature that was only half Borg, and he was struggling to overcome his evilness while in a cage......
-
I want to thank all of the dear readers for their thoughts and vibes. I am sad to say, however, that my Uncle Al passed away this morning from his injuries.
-
From DR TCB:
The competition will be held in Tacoma at the Tacoma Musical Playhouse.
Convenient :)
-
I'm so sorry, JRand.
-
"Bruse Bill". I like that.
-
Today at work is going to be kind of sad. My supervisor is leaving Timberland to go to work in Tennessee. She'll be an assistant director in Nashville. Good for her, but not for us. I'm sure it'll eventually be fine, but it was almost a year between her predecessor retiring and her being hired. Hopefully, it won't take that long, again. :-\
Vibes in the very near future you have a wonderful new supervisor!
-
I hope Isabelle Hupert wins best actress.
I haven't seen the movie.
-
Surprised at the love for Hacksaw Ridge, which I did not read good reviews of.
IMDB has an 8.5 rating. I am curious to see it.
-
Beat you by one, Druxy. Saw Hell or High Water and La La Land.
I think Hell or High Water was far better than La La Land.
-
TOD:
The pilot episode of Deep Space Nine was also very good.
And after that ;)
-
I am alive. Crazy as usual.
Both are good :)
-
Elmore might be able to use your accordion skills, Matthew.
-
Oh, and the dogs are GREAT!
Excellent!
-
I want to thank all of the dear readers for their thoughts and vibes. I am sad to say, however, that my Uncle Al passed away this morning from his injuries.
Oh Jack, I am so very sorry. My condolences to you and your family.
-
Matthew - For the mini-HHW get-together when you're here in April: which at this point fits your schedule better, the Tuesday or the Wednesday?
-
Back from my first acupuncture session. Very interesting.
The needles didn't hurt, but to treat allergies was a bit of a surprise. Once I got used to it ( all of two seconds), I could breathe through my nose.
-
Condolences to Jrand and family.
-
Matthew - For the mini-HHW get-together when you're here in April: which at this point fits your schedule better, the Tuesday or the Wednesday?
Either Tuesday during the day or Wednesday morning, as I probably want to try and catch a matinee.
-
I hate the sight of needles and cannot see them in myself. So I had my eyes closed most of the time.
-
Sorry to hear that news, DR Jrand66. Condolences to you and your family.
-
Vibes of peace and comfort, JRAND.

The needles didn't hurt, but to treat allergies was a bit of a surprise. Once I got used to it ( all of two seconds), I could breathe through my nose.
Wow! I hope this continues to help!
-
So far I have seen four of the nominated movies and plan to see at least two more of them.
-
I tried to like the original Star Trek, but it was slow going for me..... I really liked THE NEXT GENERATION....
My favorite episode was when TNG folks captured a creature that was only half Borg, and he was struggling to overcome his evilness while in a cage......
I believe that Borg was named "Hugh".

So sorry, DR JRand66. I send my sympathy and condolences to your family.
-
No word from my super yet. Hmmmmm . . .
-
I'm up, I'm up - been up since eight-thirty thanks to noisy builders. Stayed in bed, then got up and had a visitor, and now I shall start the day.
-
Sorry to hear about Jrand's uncle.
-
Haven't seen the nominations. I'll have to seek them out.
-
I've seen 'em. Several laughable nominations - all three Hidden Figures ladies should have been up. The BFG should have been up for score. The nomination for the score from Jackie is a joke - it was horrible. All the nominations for Arrival are surprising because it was merely okay. For me the most egregiously inane nomination is Nicole Kidman, who, for me, basically killed the entire second half of Lion. And no nomination for the KID from Lion, but for Dev Patel instead? The kid was amazing and so was the kid from The Monster Calls. The actors branch of the Academy is pathetic and predictable. They doubt they even see half the movies they're supposed to and they just choose the name.
-
Thanks to all for the good thoughts!

Ditto on all of these! I think I'd read that the episode where Picard lives another life won a sci-fi award. I also loved the Deep Space Nine episode where they went back in time to the original series' Tribbles episode. That was cool.
-
Beat you by one, Druxy. Saw Hell or High Water and La La Land.
I tied with you, John. I've only seen "La La Land" and "Arrival."

I'm not going to say no...I'm going to say HELL NO!!
;)
Aside from the fact that I wouldn't want the added responsibility, I have neither the required experience nor the degree.
-
I want to thank all of the dear readers for their thoughts and vibes. I am sad to say, however, that my Uncle Al passed away this morning from his injuries.
Sincere condolences.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to have something to eat that's light and airy, and whilst eating I shall be reading and proofing a book.
-
What I've eaten in the last two hours has been the very opposite of light and airy, and I'm repenting right now.
-
Yes DR RLP, the half borg was named Hugh.
-
Still repenting.
Just wanted to keep you all up to date.
-
It sounds like a fun meeting for MR BK.....D.C. Fontana has always been one of my favorite genre writers!
-
Back from a Chinese chicken salad and reading/proofing. I've found a few typos, and I've smoothed out some awkward things that I hadn't caught - I knew there would be a bit of all that in the first thirty pages while I was finding my way.
-
This round of the bathroom ceiling is over. I really like the new super and his wife very much, and, much as I liked the last super, I believe the new one is better at the job.
-
I have some pages to finish for The Drinking Song, and I want to take them to Joshie tomorrow. My Encores! opening night gift for Rob Berman arrived today, so I'm happy that's out of the way.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings from Athens, TN! My cousin Perry picked us up at 10am and drove us to his home in Carrollton where we loaded our car. We took him and his wife to lunch before they both had to be at the university. We were on the road by 1pm and we're settled in for the night. Home tomorrow!
-
Condolences to DR JRand and all who love Uncle Al...
-
I shall shortly be on my way to have something to eat that's light and airy, and whilst eating I shall be reading and proofing a book.
I have banana pecan muffins.
-
I have a brand new pair of roller skates. Do you have a brand new key?
-
Page 4.
-
Who here is up to doing the Shimmy (like your sister Kate)?
Or, how about the Loco-Motion?
-
Upcoming driving vibes for DR GINNY.
-
I think I need to be singing The Drinking Song today.....or at least be qualified to sing it.
-
DR JRand I am so sorry. My condolences to you and your family.
-
This round of the bathroom ceiling is over. I really like the new super and his wife very much, and, much as I liked the last super, I believe the new one is better at the job.
Better is good :)
-
DR Laura, Anyone, do you know what this is?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
So sorry, Jack.
Vibes of comfort to you and your family.
-
A question for BK:
Now that you've finished the new book what happens when you take a shower? Do all those great ideas that have been coming to you for the last few weeks just get aborted? Dry up? Cease to exist?
Or are they diverted to some other creative person seeking inspiration?
-
:D
-
This round of the bathroom ceiling is over. I really like the new super and his wife very much, and, much as I liked the last super, I believe the new one is better at the job.
I'm glad you like him and also glad he's good at his job.

Back from my first acupuncture session. Very interesting.
The needles didn't hurt, but to treat allergies was a bit of a surprise. Once I got used to it ( all of two seconds), I could breathe through my nose.
Glad to hear it's helping. You didn't go expecting to have your allergies treated?
Being able to breathe is always a good thing, IMHO.
-
It looks like an escaped guinea fowl. Where was it?
-
FYI, John G, there's a system called the Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET), which uses acupuncture to eliminate allergies. I've never used it, although I've had tons of acupuncture. If you're interested, www.naet.com. I've heard good things about it, but some acupuncturists prefer standard acupuncture.
-
Dear Reader Laura - send me some!
-
It was on the lamb.
-
TTFN.
-
Thanks to everyone for the additional thoughts. They are MUCH appreciated.
-
I did proof about sixty-five pages. Then I called Muse Margaret and ran by her the textual things I was thinking about adjusting. She liked 90% of them, and told me to leave the other 10% alone, which is why I always run this stuff by her. They weren't huge in number, though. Mostly I'm deleting my always crazy number of hyphens - it's lazy of me the number I use, so I'm trying to cut half of them, which will still probably leave over 100.
-
It looks like an escaped guinea fowl. Where was it?
Thank you. Keith can sleep now ;)
It has been hanging around Craig's apartment complex in Maryland.
-
Still don't know whether this dinner thing is happening.
-
She really shouldn't leave her things scattered all about the northeast.
Please, keep it, with my compliments

Last year on this day the Vixter was home alone in New York in the middle of a blizzard that closed everything, Vixdad and I were in Florida having narrowly escaped said blizzard which chased us down I 95. Then the phone rang and my Daddy was gone...
This year the Vixter is in Florida and Vixdad and I are in New York, picking up the pieces of our fence knocked down by the No'easter .
But this morning the rain stopped awhile and I was able to visit Dad and bring him some flowers
-
Sending hugs DR Vixmom!
-
Hugs, Vixmom. I recently made the cemetery visit, too.
-
To our surprise FedEX delivered a package late this afternoon. It didn't say who it was from (amazing how most gift orders arrive this way) and we were rather baffled. Once I figured out what the gift was I knew immediately. I then had to explain it all to Keith :D
I can now age my cognac in my own little barrel!

From the original Star Trek series:
The Cage
I asked Keith for his favorite and he said Spock's Brain.
I liked both series, The Next Generation and Star Trek: Enterprise but cannot think of favorite episodes.
I enjoyed the 2009 Star Trek movie.
Of the original movies I probably like Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home best.

No. I went for some stress relief. Today it worked well.

Well, I finally get to leave work, now. Yesterday was the cut-off for invoicing this month, and today was supposed to be the day that I compiled the report for the business office, but I didn't get all my invoicing done yesterday, and today we had the going away party for my supervisor.
-
:'(
-
So, today I had to finish the invoicing that I was supposed to have finished yesterday and then compile the report. But, it's all finished now...and I'm going home. Whew!
Be back later.
-
Got a new iPhone today. All this updating stuff is irritating. I should be asleep. I need to wait another 20 minutes for iTunes. And even though it said my phone numbers would carry over, well, they didn't. At least not all of them did.
-
Back from a little dinner.
-
For anyone who's heard and enjoyed Kay's CD, some Amazon reviews would be VERY helpful.

I have to be up early for an appointment with the dentist tomorrow.
