Well, you've read the notes, the notes rhymed, and now it is time for you to post until the rhyming cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SEMELPAROUS!
-
First post after BK!
-
BK, will your Holmes show include any songs from THE NUTTY PROFESSOR?
-
I don't think so - I've asked him before about it and I think it's some weird thing with the Hamlisch estate AND Jerry Lewis that he can't.
-
I found an entire Sibelius symphony cycle and a well thought of one, streaming free for Prime. I've saved it for some fun listening at some point.
-
I guess I might as well say good night.
-
I am sorry to be a whiner but I have not been this miserably sick for years
-
Every bone in my body aches, my toothache is worse since I had to cancel my root canal
-
And the last time my throat was this sore was when I was going through the radiation treatment
-
I am sorry to be a whiner but I have not been this miserably sick for years
I understand completely. That is how I felt a few weeks ago.
-
I am so sorry you are so sick. Vibes you feel better very soon.
-
Do you have any of that medicine that BK swears by?
-
Feel better soon. Good night, Vixmom.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Huge amounts of big, strong GET WELL VIBES for vixmom!
-
And of course to TCB and all the rest of you!
-
Feel-better vibes to vixmom!
-
TCB - I hear HERE LIES LOVE was wonderful, but I didn't get a chance to see it.
-
Regarding SNL - I admire what they do greatly almost all the time, but at times I think I may not feel edgy enough in one regard, as I sort of feel uncomfortable hearing actual horrific events in San Bernardino and Orlando (and in a past week references to 6,000,000, a clear Holocaust reference) used in oh-by-the-way passing as a glib punchline, even if the point is to satirize Trump, not make fun of the horrific events. [Sample example: Talking in a sketch to the German prime minister, I think last week, Baldwin as Trump refers to "the six million (pause) people who were at my Inauguration."]
-
GOOD MORNING TO ALL
-
Good morning, all.
-
TCB, the original concept album of Here Lies Love was fun. Very synthesized, very danceable. The title song was what I remember most.
-
Here's a fun clip from the original production that shows Imelda Marcos and soon-to-be hubby.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IXjRIQmBsZs
-
Good morning, all!
-
It's so gray and dark outside that I did not want to leave my bed. However, I am up, the laundry is in the washers, the bed is made, and I have much to accomplish today.
-
DR FJL, I think SNL is doing a fantastic job of letting middle Americaq know just what a horrific and unhumane administration they voted in. When the White House removes any mention of Jews in its Holocaust proclamation and implicitly by its silence and by its cabinet encourages anti-Semitic behavior and effects, I think we're lucky that
Der Führer the president doesn't have the complete fascist control he and his cabinet seek and SNL can go as far as it does. I susect we only missed the Russian whores and wet sheets because of censorship.
-
Yesterday I sent Randy the first half of this year's Ohio property taxes. I hope this is the last one.
-
Has anybody here seen NOCTURNAL ANIMALS?
We watched it last night and, although I liked it very much, there is one point in the film that both my wife and I are not sure about.
I don't want to be a spoiler, so if you have seen it, I would appreciate it if you would contact me privately on this board, so that we can discuss it.
Thanks.
-
DR Vixmom I hope you have already left a message at work that you will not be in tomorrow and likely not the day after. If you don't take care of yourself it will be difficult to shake this.
FEEL BETTER!
-
DR vixmom, you need a week at the Mayo Clinic for a complete overhaul. I hope you will take some time off and get a complete examination.
I also hope that I am wrong and this malady passes quickly.
-
!! Page 2 !!
-
Laundry is in the dryers, and I need to think about some breakfast.
-
Sending out good vibes to Vixmom, and to everybody else, because everybody can use some good vibes for one thing or another.
-
And good morning to all!
-
And good morning to all!
Good morning, DR Kerry! How are you feeling?
-
The laundry is put away and I am ready to work on "Take Me Back To Manhattan."
I had several bites of undercooked sausage with my eggs. When I discovered it, I put the sausage into the microwave to complete cooking, but i hope it doesn't make me sick.
-

FEEL BETTER!
I just texted my co workers and boss to let them know I would not be. In tomorrow
-
Thank you all for the vibes

I'll second that.
-
Judged the chili cook-off at church. There were a few good entries, but, please, under no circumstances are you ever to use the following items in your chili:
Pickle juice
Carrots
Brown sugar
Honey
I'm surprised one chili wasn't floating in lime gelatin.
-
Just sayin'.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep. The sun is shining.
-
Feeling better vibes and xylophones to Vixmom and anyone else under the weather.
-
YouthPLAYS, the company that will be making the LAST STARFIGHTER musical available for community theatres, school, summer camps, etc. already put the basic annoucnement on their site and it's showing up on Google.
It's just quickly announced under their "Coming Soon' section about halfway down the home screen here.
http://youthplays.com/
I'm assuming they won't be taking booking info on doing the show for several months or so, but it'll be available in two versions: the full two-act (sort-of PG-13) version which runs 90-100 minutes, or the Young Audience version suitable for all kids 5 to 95 and will run about 60-65 minutes.
Please pass the info around, or if you have a theatre that might be interested in a 15+ person show, please use the info yourself!
Thanks,.
Fred
-
Finally! I just this morning got an e-mail about rights to The Last Straighter and now I can pass along this address.

The Last Straighter? (Did spell-check do that to Starfighter for you, too?)
-
Get well vibes for DR VIXMOM.
-
Yes, The Last Straighter, the story of the last straight person in New York City.
-
Thanks for sending them the info, BK!
-
One refrain finished and I have a dance to score. First, I'm taking a break to assemble the week's meds.
-
Made the other half of the bow tie pasta I had - about seven ounces, with some tomato sauce and sautéed red onion and I put a splash of low-fat milk in the red sauce to make it pink sauce - all excellent and the total cost, since I had a bottle of Prego, was two bucks. I think I will continue this eating at home for the next week or so.

Congrats, Fred and Skip! I thought it was an absolutely delightful show when I saw the concert version in Issaquah in 2006 (https://www.villagetheatre.org/issaquah/vo-updates.php#2006). :D
-
Health vibes for DR vixmom!
-
Watching the livestream of the Grammy Awards, waiting for the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Category. Barbra is up against Bob Dylan, Josh Groban, Willie Nelson and Andrea Bocelli. It's pretty boring so far.
-
Carol Burnett won for Best Spoken Word (for her new book). She wasn't there, though.
-
I got logged out for some reason. Not sure why.
-
Thanks, George!

Are these categories that won't be broadcast on TV at 5pm (left coast time)?

Page two? Really? What would Mahler say?

Congratulations to Fred and Skip..the Last Starfighter is too good to not to be constantly entertaining audiences
-
Maybe that's why I never win the chili contest...brown sugar
-
On the other hand I did win crowd favorite and mine was the first crock pot emptied due to repeat samplers
-
The. One tat won was a "white chili". Chicken and white beans and yes, carrots.... I thought it was awful
-
Hello, everyone.

MEGA FEEL-BETTER-SOON VIBES to VIXMOM!
Does your posting mean you're feeling even a tad better?
-
Congrats to Fred and Skip.
-
Kudos to BK for finishing the commissioned song.

We are enjoying a few days of sunshine, then MORE RAIN! Even I am getting tired of this.
-
Maybe Santa Barbara will get some of the next storm.
-
They need it.
-
Thanks for all your commiseration regarding my car on Friday. I'm trying to just put it behind me. Ugh!
-
Multi-purpose vibes to everyone.

TTFN.

Congratulations to Fred and Skip..the Last Starfighter is too good to not to be constantly entertaining audiences
Thanks, vixmom!
If you know any schools or theaters on Long Island that might be interested in either version, please pass along the info.
And maybe this will lead to a resurgence in people downloading or buying the Kritzerland cast album. :)
-
Half of the dance is finished and i am finished for the night. I'm having some Chinese food and pondering the evening. I guess it will be a War & Peace evening until Victoria lands on PBS at 9:00. We're about due for Natasha and Pierre to meet the Great Comet of 1811-1812 in St Petersberg

MEGA FEEL-BETTER-SOON VIBES to VIXMOM!
Does your posting mean you're feeling even a tad better?
The body aches are slightly better and I am able to stay awake
-
I've been home, doing essentially nothing. Now, I need to take a shower, get dressed, get something to eat, and then go to my first rehearsal of TAO's next production, Playhouse Creatures (https://olytheater.com):
The year is 1669 a bawdy and troublesome time. Theaters have just reopened after seventeen years of Puritan suppression. There is a surge in dramatic writing and the first English actresses appear on stage. Playhouse Creatures focuses on five of the most famous (Nell Gwyn, Elizabeth Farley, Rebecca Marshall, Doll Common and Mary Betterton) to provide a moving and often comic account of the precarious lives of Restoration actresses.
-
It opens next Friday and there are seven performances over three weekends (https://www.artful.ly/store/events/11071). Some tickets have already sold, so that's good. :)
-
Of the five actresses in the play (there are only five performers in the show at all), I only don't know one of them. The four that I do know are all very good actresses. I would assume that the fifth is, also. Can't wait togo to the rehearsal tonight!
-
And...
-
...now that we're so close...
-
PAGE FOUR AT FOUR-OH-FOUR-O'CLOCK DANCE!!
:D
-
Well, I must go now and get ready for the evening.
Be back later!

Willie Nelson won. No comment.

More health vibes for DR Vixmom!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am jealous of those of you with warm temps. It is freezing her and major snow is falling. Double yuck.
-
Page four? Really?
-
I have a pretty rare import of the Bernstein Mahler 6th and 9th - just played the 6th and in multi-channel sound it's a whole different experience - things are so much cleaner and clearer - it's still not my favorite performance but it's better than the standard stereo mix, although even that on the SACD stereo layer sounds better than the CD, even though it's the same mastering.

;D Only a week or so?

I know some people who pray for the snow and love it. I am with you in regard to preferring warmer temps.
-
It was in the mid 40's today but sunny. We took a nice long walk into town and back. There were loads of boats sailing on the river :)
-
We went to an early brunch at our neighbor's, along with 11 other folks from our building. It was nice.

Because chili is not a dessert.

Watching the first episode of Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Does anybody else watch this show?
-
Thanks, Jane!
-
Good night, all.
-
Watching the first episode of Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Does anybody else watch this show?
That was one of those shows that I wanted to watch, but just never did. :-\
-
I'm at rehearsal and it's going well as could be expected. A few lines have been called for and not all of the costumes are finished, but they're getting through it.
-
We started the run at 8:00 and we're heading towards the end of the first act. Some costume changes were and are taking longer than expected, but it's a rehearsal, so no one's worried yet.
-
I don't have a script with sound cues written in it (yet). I'm using the script of one of the actresses. The sound board program has the script cues and page numbers in the "description" field for each cue, but it's awkward having to read ahead and make sure I'm looking at the right cue.
-
But once I get my own script, I'll be able to write in all my cues.
-
Back to rehearsal!
-
Page four? Really?
-
Watched almost all of a motion picture, then went to Von's and did the kind of a shopping I haven't done in ages. This same food would have cost about $150 at Gelson's - with the Von's discounts and card it was half that. I now enough food here to have many meals without so much as looking at the inside of a restaurant, although I still have some meetings to do, so that's when I'll eat in restaurants. But if I can eat here, I shall. I got some of my favorite Uncle Ben's rice packets - very nice as a side dish and easy to microwave - I got no-fat refried beans, cheese, tortillas, sandwich rolls, tuna, hot dog buns, no-fat low-cal hot dogs, those baked potato chip things in sour cream and onion and barbecue - very low-cal - wheat thins (ranch style - excellent), a red onion, a regular onion, cream of mushroom soup - several cans - sour cream, and four things of pasta - on sale - four for five bucks - amazing.
-
Listening to E.T. and other John Williams.
-
Bruce, I thought Gelson'so was the only market near you ;) It is great to see you shopping like this. Now if you would only add veggies.
-
Rehearsal is still going well...however (and I hope that it's because everyone is still working on everything), but it's fairly slow going. There are long pauses everywhere. The pace really needs to be picked up. :-\
-
Good evening!
-
Good evening and get me off this damn page.
-
Listening to the soundtrack of Stanley and Irish.
-
Page 5? Really?
-
And get me off this damn page.
-
What would Stanley and Iris say?
-
What would Mahler say?
-
Happy Birthday to former DR Abe Lincoln!
-
Improved health vibes to DR Vixmom!
-
My friend Jim is headed to NYC for the weekend next week.
-
He doesn't understand why I think the hotels are too pricey in New York.
-
Of course, he is staying at the Plaza.
-
I can't even afford breakfast at the Palm Court.
-
Greetings, 1 Guest!
-
Is there another snow storm coming to New York this week?
-
Thank you Fred and John for your comments on HERE LIES LOVE.
-
It is opening April 7 at the Seattle Rep.
-
Tomorrow we have another pretty day coming with temperatures in the mid-fifties.
-
Sorry about that Jennifer.
-
It is already down to 28 degrees here in Tacoma. Brrr!
-
Good news on BK's grocery shopping run.
-
Your local restaurants are going to have to lay off staff.
-
So, 1 Guest, who was your favorite singing group when you were growing up?
-
I love fresh sheets on my bed!
-

I love those rice packets. Especially the Garden Vegetable rice.

I'm home.
-
I got home about 20 minutes ago.
-
Long rehearsal.
