Well, I guess I should call it a night.
It's a night!
-
Good night, George.

Good night, George.
Good night, Tom.

Well, I need to go to sleep, too. Every year after our fiscal year roll-over at work, the Acquisitions Supervisor (which is now me) takes the entire Acquisitions department out to lunch (the staff of 5 gets to choose where). For many years, we went to Brewery City Pizza (http://www.brewerycity.com). For the last couple of years, we went to Red Robin. This year, however, they wanted to go to Brewery City Pizza again, so we are. Anyway, we're going today. :)
Have a good day, all.

Good morning to all

Good morning.

In 2009, John McGlinn was found dead in his apartment on this day. I believe that he actually died from his heart attack between Jan. 10-12, if not earlier, but Valentine's Day is the official day of his death. When Robert Kimball called me that afternoon to tell me the news, I said, since 2003 I was afraid I would open the door and find John standing there with a gun to blow me away. Robert's response was, I had the same fear.
-
TOD: so many greats, but my favorites are:
But Alive
Put On a Happy Face
-
Today I shall listen to some John McGlinn.
-
So, I will die conflicted over that McGlinn friendship and fallout. I hope he's at peace.
-
I know the scary feeling about the dental consult, TCB. I hope he can get your work done quickly.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Have a wonderful day.
-
I will shortly leave for City Center. Joshie and I have an overture to finish.
-
Today, La Cage. I haven't played a note of this keyboard book (2010 (?) revival version). Our first rehearsal and sitzprobe, or tech rehearsal, whatever it's to be, is on Sunday, and I want to get through it all today.
-
Today's listening will be some Mr. McGlinn.
-
Rob Berman iust sent me the final section of "Take Me Back To Manhattan." I need to have it finished by Thursday.
-
Good productivity vibes for DR Elmore.
-
No snow cleanup + no dentist = a good day.
I intend to enjoy this one to the hilt.
-
Yesterday I said that this was a day for a piece of Mahler's. But it is Mr. McGlinn's day. I've decided on Kiss Me, Kate.
-
Good, Good Morning!
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
In the weird Inner Webs department, I received a message on Book Face [nothing like MR BK's message] asking me if I would help with a documentary about Allison Hayes....I replied I will do what I can.
The author said he would get with his producer and send me some details. After a bit of looking around the WEBS, I find out that this man's main claim to fame is he GONZO reporting and a book he wrote about Linda Lovelace.
I am afraid, I may not want to participate in his "documentary" - we shall see.
-
Over my second cup of coffee I watched the Jake Gyllenhaal "Finishing the Hat" video -- and saw, to my great delight, Susan Jolles on harp.
-
Valentine's Day greetings! Richard got a fresh batch of homemade heart-shaped shortbread cookies, I got a box of Hershey Pot of Gold caramel pecan clusters, and, together, we're getting shower walls this morning!
-
You know how to celebrate Valentine's Day ;)
-
I am simply happy to have Keith home. There were too many years he was traveling for work.
-
I am simply happy to have Keith home. There were too many years he was traveling for work.
That's understandable!
We are also celebrating the safe return of our upstairs housemates from their festive long weekend in London.
-
Are they sleeping the day away after a their whirlwind trip?
-
Does anybody out there remember a record album, SMASH FLOPS?
I think it first came out in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
The basic idea was that, if it weren't for ever-changing history, these songs would have been huge hits.
In any event, I discovered this on-line. Enjoy!

I'm up, I'm up - was up at nine thanks to the loud yammering of the neighbor.
-
Oh yeah - Happy Valentine's Day.

Are they sleeping the day away after a their whirlwind trip?
Pretty much...
-
I say, what's this? Nary a post in two and half hours?
-
Over my second cup of coffee I watched the Jake Gyllenhaal "Finishing the Hat" video -- and saw, to my great delight, Susan Jolles on harp.
Did you see Jeremy Clayton playing oboe?
-
We have the coda to the overture to write, and we will do that on Thursday. Tomorrow, I stay home to finish "Take Me Back To Manhattan," and Joshie has things to write without me.
I am getting excited about next Thursday's band reading.
-

I should have, but I failed to check the others out! I'll get back on it later.
-
Happy V.D., all.
-
I really love that Kiss Me, Kate. Listening now to "Songs of New York".
-
DR Laura I took this photo for you on our last night in Texas.

Doing it now. There he is! :)

I have been having problems with my phone camera. I am pleased it is working again. I have a strange phone, things stop working and then start again all on its own.

I know it's three months away, but is anyone planning on The Golden Apple at Encores! in May?

DR Elmore, I was sitting here with my foot on ice watching cooking shows on youtube, and I decided to type in John McGlinn and see what came up.

Oh dear foot vibes for DR Laura

I had some Wacky Noodles for the meal o' the day today. They were good - made half the bag. Waiting for someone to come and pick up the script for the Sherman Brothers musical - we have to have it typed into a Word doc - this was pre computers, this script. So once that's done then I can enter my notes right onto the script, which will be so much easier.

Watching that John McGlinn video led me to THIS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKVGo7FL4n8) complete and hi-def video of the BBC Proms' concert production of Kiss Me, Kate!, which then led me to the restored production of Oklahoma! Naturally the Amazon deliver person will come as late as he can to the mail place, so I will have to go over there when he's been there - very annoying this idiot.

I made the mistake of buying the cold and cough formula and it did not help. I don't know if anything aside from codeine would have stopped what I had. I needed it at night.
DR Vimom is your cough medicine working?

Packages arrived, including a surprise little gift from George Feltenstein of Warner Bros - The Boy Friend Blu-ray - I know what I'll be watching shortly :)
Also, two new (to me) Sibelius cycles - looking forward to hearing what will probably be my penultimate complete cycle experience - there's one more coming in a week or two, never released on CD but really well thought of - I found a copy of the reel-to-reel tape set from 1959 and that's being transferred for me.

Well, I saw the oral surgeon.
-
I like him. And he must have just got back from vacation, because he has a great tan.
-
Bad news is that the infection is still too
rampant intense to risk the extraction.
-
So, another week of getting lots of rest, drinking lots of fluids, and sleeping with three pillows to keep the infection from spreading.
-
I am pleased you like the surgeon
-
I go back next Tuesday.
-
If the infection isn't gone by then, he will lance the infection and clean it out.
-
I keep falling asleep.
-
INFECTION BE GONE VIBES!!!
-
He must have released some of the infection, because tonight I have a killer sore throat.
-
Good night, Jane.
-
Three pillows is going to be a trip.
-
It will be like sleeping sitting up - which I guess is the idea.
-
Oh well, anything to get over this whole thing.
-
I need to change computers.
-
I have changed...... computers
-
I ate part of a Joe's Special today. It would have been really good, except it had way too much garlic. It almost made me sick. At least no vampires will get close to me.
-
I think that Brewery City Pizza is the place that George raves about their pizza - with cashews.
-
Boy, would I love a pizza!

Oh, no! :(

Actually, no. Dirty Dave's (http://www.dirtydavespizza.com/) is the one with cashews for their pizzas, although BCP does have some mighty fine pizza.
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait...
-
Page five? Really? Let's have us a really rally.
-
Notes will be up on time.
-
Then let's get crackin'.
-
Thank you, George (and Jane).

Ohoh, I thought you were back at work.

I upgraded my data plan for my phone. Because I had the same plan for years without changing anything, my current plan is no longer offered to change to (although I could keep it for as long as I wanted). I was able to double my data amount (2 GB to 4 GB) and (supposedly...we'll see when I get my actual bill) still save $11. If I had kept the same 2 GB, I could've saved $24.
