Hello.
Hello.
Good night, George.

Most excellent vibes and xylophones to Richard Sherman.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An em-dash is the longest of the dashes between words and was so named because it take up the space of the fat letter "m". It is sometimes marked with two hyphens--when it's not available. There is also an en-dash (takes the space of a letter "n") and, of course, the hyphen.
There are varying rules as to when you use each.
THE YAKUZA is a good movie.
Mitchum at his action/hero best.
I'm wondering if they had em-dashes in Marcel Proust's day.
I guess I could pick up my next volume (famous last words) and find out. Although, how would I know if they were put there by the translators in the course of reconstructing and clarifying those two-page long sentences?
It's a bit of a sad anniversary because on this day last year we were saying goodbye to one of the most beautiful, intelligent, and loving cats ever. She had an impact on all of our lives. I was playing an opening night Spelling Bee at the same venue I'll be playing La Cage aux Folles starting next week.

The book with more em-dashes than any other I remember is Zuleika Dobson.
I'll be E&T from this afternoon until Sunday morning. Going to Pennsylvania for a couple of days.

Zuleika Dobson, one of Ethan Mordden's favorite books. I never got it. There was a flop British musical in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
George, break a leg tomorrow night.
Did anybody watch the opening episode of DOUBT the other night?
I liked it, but I thought the background music was way overdone. Indeed, it was so intrusive that, at moments, we had trouble hearing the dialogue.

Break-a-leg vibes for George and company!
YES Opening night vibes for DR GEORGE & Co.
So now the world is talking about DR GINNY's toilet and having meetings about it.....that makes it even more of an event than DR GEORGE's toilet seat.

DR JOHN G a local dentist in my area was having trouble with his plumbing and couldn't get anybody to fix it correctly. Finally he got mad and dropped a small explosive in the septic tank.
Unfortunately for her, his wife was sitting on the convenience. The explosive blew the contents of the septic tank into the house - knocked the wife off the commode and coated her and the bathroom walls with the contents. She divorced him shortly after the event.
YES Opening night vibes for DR GEORGE & Co.
DITTO!

What a coinkydink! It's 55° in Tumwater, too!
;)
DR JANE I think he closed his practice shortly thereafter and moved away to parts unknown.
JRand, this story is really sadly funny.
Well, I'm off to my parents' house, then I'm going to the theater for the opening night of Playhouse Creatures.
Be back later.

LOL Do you also expect more rain tomorrow?
Beautiful pictures, Jane!
I just found out when I got to the theater, but there is a write-up about the show in the paper:

:D
Sinkhole is about six blocks from here at the corner of Woodbridge and Laurel Canyon - I jog by there whenever I jog. I may walk over there in the morning to see what's what.
Is it? I hope all the tourists don't show up.
Pain-free vibes to TCB!

Nice write up.
They took the entire Seattle cast with them to New York.
One of the actors made his Broadway debut as Milky White in the revival of INTO THE WOODS.
Plus, they just showed another sinkhole that swallowed a fire truck.

Chad Kimball. I remember reading about that when it happened.

He lives in Seattle. Well, not at the moment.
