~~~The Strongest Most Excellent Vibes and Xylophones for a Healthy BK, and Also for Richard Sherman!!~~~
I'm gonna tell you how fate works sometimes - I don't think it's much of a secret that my original plan for book writing this year was a new Adriana book - had the title and the setting all picked and it was a good one. So, I'll reveal the title because when I do if you've heard the news today you'll know how a) prescient I sometimes am, and b) how awful it would have been had I actually written it in terms of the timing. Murder at the Magic Castle. For those who haven't heard, they found a dead body in a closet there - being investigated as a suicide at the moment. Weird?
BK, I have been working on my book the last few days.
How was your show last night, George?
And the word of the day is: GOLCONDA!
And a Very Happy Birthday to (former?) DR Dan M!
No longer care about the Oscars except which song wins so I can change it from nominee to winner in my Itunes listing.
Hope you enjoy the show and dinner, Vixmom.
SAMUEL vibes for DR TCB.Second Samuel vibes for DR TCB
I'm off to a new breakfast place this morning called Snooze. Their cocktail list looks promising. The breakfast dishes look over the top, things like cinnamon roll pancakes with belly bacon in them.
I just fainted.
One thing I've learned this week: sometimes what is painfully obvious to you may only become obvious to another some time later.
Rehab places for physical injuries can potentially be very pleasant if the expectation is that it will be short-term (as opposed to permanent, that is).
When my mom had a fracture a few years ago that just had to heal, she really liked being in a a place where she felt secure in case of an aggravation of the accident spot, plus: at least for a short period, the variety of the activities they tried to plan for the patients was most enjoyable to her as she healed for that month or so.
I hope Isabelle Huppert can pull an upset and win.
Of the few Oscar nominees I saw, I liked He'll or High Water best, but Druxy's right. It won't win.
Hidden Figures was second, but it won't win.
La La Land will.
I may not watch the Oscars this year.....I am not saying that I necessarily disagree with what they are saying....but there are better places to say it. It eventually becomes overkill.....very very quickly.....
Jane Fonda - unexpected voice of reason....
I have yet to see LA LA LAND, but I am surprised that there is so many negative comments about it, yet it appears to be the clear favorite.
Why do people "hate" it?
I didn't hate it, but it's nowhere near as good as it should have been.
One of the big problems with the movie seemed to be that the creators don't know why the better musicals work as a whole. The opening number was wonderful while it lasted, but neither of the leads was in it. They were each in their separate cars stuck in the traffic, seemingly above or removed from the dancers and singers. So when the song ended, we were left with nothing that connected it to the story. Who were they people singing? We don't know and we weren't given the chance to care. Also, do only young, attractive, talented people get stuck in L.A. traffic?
Well, god damn! I just got a jury summons for March 16, right in the middle of "The New Yorkers." I've asked my doctor to write me a deferment. Getting to jury duty when you're fit is a bit of an ordeal, but in my current shape it's terrifying: subways at rush hour, trying to navigate crowds and stairs, walking several blocks to the court house. Shoot me.
Had a fun visit with cousins and brother - didn't eat anything. Came home and made the other eight ounces of bow tie pasta with some red sauce and eating that now.
Older, less attractive, untalented people are wise enough not to get stuck in L.A. traffic.
:D
George - great to hear the show went well.
Horrible, Larry. Hope the doc'll do it.
And the performance was great.
I am supposed to call the character B-Flat a retard, but tonight he was a pervert instead.
We could take this show to the Regional Festival in Idaho.
BK, we need a good game for tomorrow's Oscar Party.
They brought in pizza for the cast tonight.
Sadly, I will not be able to partake of the party-ing. :( I had agreed to help my sister and neice to take apart my niece's very heavy IKEA bed and schlep it downstairs into their garage. :P
I don't know if our show is even going to have a cast party. :-\
Who moves a bed on Oscar night?
I don't know if our show is even going to have a cast party. :-\
Oh no! That is sad. Why?
I shouldn't say it is sad, I rarely go to the cast parties.
