Well, you've read the notes, the notes were caught in the nick of time, and now it is time for you to post until the nick of time cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PORTMANTEAU!
-
Thank goodness for the ebook person!

Second post after BK!

Good morning, all!

This morning is the Meet & Greet for The New Yorkers cast. I'll get to City Center around 10:00. Joshie and I can plan ourt workday, and then we'll go to the gathering. I have friends in the ensemble and cast to say hello to.
-
I want to look over the intro to the Entr'Acte before we send it to the copyist.
-
DR TCB, I do wish I could fly in for SECOND SAMUEL, I will instead be in a recording studio praying to God that this Moonshine & Mistletoe recording goes well. I would rather be watching you onstage.

Good morning to all

Thursday morning greetings! Today I'm doing an afternoon art thing at the public library and this evening we're going to hear J. D. Vance speak at the Miami University campus here in town. I'm very interested to see how he is received in the hometown he slanders in his book.

I like J.D. Vance. That sounds like fun.
-
Page one? Really?
-
I'm ready for happy hour.
-
Got into work to discover a 1pm meeting (supposedly two hours of training) had been rescheduled this morning for 9 am. Then they announced it was hands-on, so the folks who work from home (including the woman in Colorado Springs) would have to be there.
? To quote DR George, WTH??

26th after BK!

Must catch up on last night. Seems I missed some important goings-on.

Where am I?
Page fifty-three?

That was a close call with The Book! WOW! Kudos to the profordeare.
-
DR TCB that story about your old actor friend reminds me a joke that Buddy Hackett told once on the Tonight Show:
98 year old man married a sixteen year old girl. His friend asked: "Are you afraid of a heart attack or something on your honeymoon?"
And the man replied: "If she dies, she dies."
-
Ron, you mentioned Demon Seed. The title of my biography.
-
I like all of the Julie Christie movies mentioned but my favorite of all is DARLING.....even Dirk Bogarde and Laurence Harvey are terrific in it.
"We're not taking a taxi."
"Why not?"
"I don't take whores in taxis."
"You're very good in the library and the living room."
"You underestimate me - I'm also very good on the telephone."
-
Such lovely videos in the notes....again!
-
Yes indeed.
-
You know what I'm wondering right now?
I'm wondering how many hidden tracks I've missed.
Because it's sounding like there have been more than the ones I've caught.
-
Nice rideout on "Quit While You're Ahead". (That one just happened to grab me.)
-
Ron, you mentioned Demon Seed. The title of my biography.
I look forward to that read!
-
Where am I?
Page fifty-three?
No, you're in Kansas.
-
You could be in Oklahoma, though.
If you see any corn, check if it's high as "a elephant's eye".
-
Today is Thursday. Yes, Thursday.
It has felt like Friday all day, thus far.
But it's Thursday.
Good golly!

I'm slightly chilly this morning.
I have my deskside space heater running.
My left leg is warm, but my left foot is chilled.
My left elbow is warm, but my left hand, which is typing on my keyboard alongside my right hand, is a bit cool to the touch.

I wonder who the "1 guest" is who is online with me at this moment.
-
Sick of me yet, anyone?
-
I have an end goal!
-
And this post is that goal. It puts us 10 posts away from turning the page.
I'll shut up now.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I have no idea how much sleep I got.
-
The good news is that the files that were sent to the printers and to the Author House in-house eBook folks was correct. My guy who oversees everything at AH cannot explain how what he sent me to sign off on is incorrect - no one can explain it, apparently - a mystery for the ages, but he assures me he looked at all the files that went to the printers and they are absolutely correct.
-
I was also notified that the softcover test copy is on its way via Ground. But I bought a soft and hardcover from Amazon and the former will be here Saturday.
-
I also prepared and launched the Kindle eBook version - it's usually up within twenty-four to forty-eight hours but it was easy as pie. Waiting for the Nook version so I can get that up at Barnes and Noble.
-
Good news, then.

I didn't get a chance to watch the videos last night, so I'll watch them today. :)

Good grief! Who would believe that hotel rooms in Boise, Idaho would be so expensive!

It isn't exactly a vacation mecca, especially in March and April.

How on earth could I have forgotten Doctor Zhivago. Our first choice for a song after we were married was Lara's Theme.

I didn't feel he slandered the town in the least. Middletown was a complete mess after Armco moved out.

And I am home from City Center. Joshie and I had a good time at Meet & Greet. I saw my friends Tim McDevitt, Cody Williams, and Eddie Korbich, who are in the cast, and friends from Rodgers & Hammerstein, the Cole Porter Trust, and others. Joshie and I corrected some orchestra parts, orchestrated around 20 bars of a Durante song, "Wood," together, and bickered. We work together very well.

It isn't exactly a vacation mecca, especially in March and April.
But I heard SECOND SAMUEL will be playing there, so that may account for it.

You can talk, talk, talk, talk, bicker, bicker, bicker.

I would try bickering with the Professional Weather Guessers, but they insist we're getting a few inches of snow between tonight and tomorrow afternoon.
I hope they don't have to cancel tomorrow night's show. They're almost selling out every night, and that would be a shame.

You can talk all ya wanna, but it's different than it was!

It's had for me to believe that this month of March is nearly 1/3 finished.

I'm not sure it was his intent to paint such an unflattering picture of Middletown, but the media certainly have decided that it's a decaying midwestern city without knowing for sure where it is or how to pronounce it (Middleton, anyone?). Many of us who live here have had to assure friends from other states who have read the book that, yes, we're OK, and, no, not everyone here lives like J. D.'s family. There are actually some educated people here who know what sparkling water is.
-
People are funny, though. I have relatives who hear of a fire 500 miles away from me and call me worried to death that I'm affected.
-
Great Honk!
-
The day plods on, and it STILL feels like Friday.
I'm gonna be in trouble in the morning, I fear.

But....
The sun'll come out...tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow
There'll be sun

Just thinkin' about...tomorrow...
Clears away the sadness and the sorrow...

We did have a bit of excitement earlier this year when a warehouse burned and loads of people were killed. Right here in Oakland.
I was asked to check in with all my friends to reassure them that I had not been in this warehouse with all the other hip-hopping youngsters who got trapped there.
I wanted to say it had been a near miss...that I had been there earlier but had gotten out before the fire.
But, you know....I was asleep in bed when everything happened.
-
When I think of a day that's gray and lonely
I just stick out my chin and grin and
Say-y-y-y-y-y Oh-h-h-h-h-h
-
Well, you know how the rest of it goes.
-
And, no, I wouldn't know how to hip-hop if my life depended upon it.
Of course, I could Bunny Hop, if importuned to do so!!!
-
Let's all of us Bunny Hop. Shall we?
-
Don't everyone jump in at once.
-
Ah, heck, let's just move along.

Well, this is interesting. It looks like the original Broadway cast recordings of Company (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XCV57VK/), Gypsy (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XD5ZZGD/), and South Pacific (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XDBRLF8/) are being rereleased...on vinyl! They're each only $29.98, and will all be released on April 21, 2017.
Double (triple/quadruple) dip, anyone?
-
And not that I know much about labels, they're being released on Analog Spark. Anyone know anything about them?
-
Well, a very quick Google search found their website: https://analogspark.com/ They also sell SACD discs.
-

Yup, that happens all the time only it is friends who ask. My relatives don't seem to care ;)

DR RLP I am sure there are a lot of places near you where you could take Hip Hop lessons....and it is probably best that you do it now.....the classes might be more difficult to find in South Carolina.
-
Great news about the book. I truly do like E-commerce, and it has changed the way I shop and where I buy things.
I was a BIG Amazon Shopper when they had free shipping on orders over $25.....then it went to $35....now I think it's $50....so I don't shop there much anymore. I do buy some things on the MarketPlace, but not much NEW stuff.
-
The little gift that comes with the book is on its way now - and if I place the order on Monday we should have them about seven days later. But for those who've ordered the eBook, would be lovely to get some reviews up.
-
Hello!
-
Congrats on the release of your book, BK!

More roller coaster weather: 74 today, possible snow tomorrow. And on Tuesday there may be a "significant accumulation."
-
I had better read my library books quickly. Aside from an unusual number of purchased books I have 3 books checked out and expect 3 more very soon. I can wait to read the purchased books until after I read THRILL RIDE, however, unfortunately the library books must be read before the due dates.

Originally there was supposed to be snow Sunday, but that has changed. Tomorrow's snow (if it happens) will be just "conversational," as the weather people here say.

There I go with my great "quoting" skills!

I started reading "Hidden Figures" from the library last week, but I can wait to finish that.

When I look at the top of the page to see who's "viewing this topic" and see "George" and "Jane" I can't help thinking about the Jetsons.

Sorry to have been E&T...

I have been out and about. I was able to read but not sign in from my phone but now I am home and on my ipad
-
Tuesday night I had a Emergenct Preparedness training class run by the national guard, a member of the governors staff and homeland security
-
At the end we each received a certificate and a backpack with supplies needed for an emergency evacuation
-
Flashlight, radio, batteries for each, first aid kit, emergency rations, emergency water rations, a collapsible gallon size bottle for water, plastic backs, emergency blanket, eye goggles, dust mask, work gloves, duct tape, light stick, emergency whistle, plastic drop cloth
-
Hopefully we will not need it for the apocalypse tomorrow
-
Actually they are talking about 2-5inches, conveniently scheduled to begin around 6 am and end around noon
-
Then they are threading us with a follow up storm on Tuesday
-
Last night I had a closing and got home around 9
-
Vixdad arrived shortly after I did and offered to treat Neto an IHOP dinner
-
I have no idea who Neto is but he was not invited despite anything Vixdad might have told you

It was I, and I alone who accompanied vixdad to IHOP

Apropos the mentions of Dr. Zhivago, I started listening to the book today. It's a new translation. I don't know if I can keep up with all the names but I find it interesting that the introduction is all about how to read Russian names in a novel. Elmore, you might want to leaf through it in case you ever try to read War and Peace again.
-
I needed some energetic music this morning to wake me up, so I put on the original cast of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. One of the song is an instrumental version of the Village People's Go West, and it sounds exactly like the praise team hymn "Give Thanks With a Grateful Heart." Very strange.
-
I've been reading a culinary memoir from the 1930s called "A Country Kitchen." The chapter I'm currently on is about foods the family would always take to the county fair. The author's favorite was her mother's chicken pie, which sounds absolutely delicious. It's not a chicken pot pie. No peas or carrots.
You take two chickens and basically boil them, shred the meat from the bones and reserve the liquid. Fill a deep pie pan with the chicken, then make a cream sauce mixed with the boiling liquid. Add butter (this woman fries her chicken in butter). Top the pie with sour cream biscuit dough and bake. Serve with extra biscuits on the side to sop up all those juices. That sounds soooooo good to me.

I knew people in Ashland who did that.

Sour cream biscuits with butter melting all over them. Me want.
-
But me have to go to bed.
-
Six!
-
Good night, all.
-
Page six? Really?
-
Those biscuits sound good.
-
I slept away most of the evening.
-
I felt chilled, so I got under the covers, and the rest is history.
-
Expecting high winds sometime tomorrow morning
-
Not huge, gusts up to 50 mph.
-
And, of course, more rain.

Good grief! Who would believe that hotel rooms in Boise, Idaho would be so expensive!
Are you getting a room by yourself or sharing?
I would prefer a room by myself, but I will have to pay for that myself.
-
Good grief! Who would believe that hotel rooms in Boise, Idaho would be so expensive!
Do you have to pay for your own room? Who picked the hotel?
The hotel is the host hotel for the conference. It is right in downtown Boise. It gets the best reviews of any that I have checked.
-
More hotel information is expected tomorrow.
-
We may decide to stay out by the airport.

I just did, too. :)
