Well, you've read the notes, the notes were all kinds of everything, and now it is time for you to post until the all kinds of everything cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FELICITOUS!
-
First post after BK!
-
2nd post

First post after Jane! Which is also the second post after TCB! Which is also the third post after BK! ;D
-
Good night, George.

Good night, George.
Good night, Tom.

First post after George's second post

T.O.D.
I have the new Criterion edition of BEING THERE.
I haven't seen it in years, so we'll probably watch that.
-
Good morning to all
-
Good morning, all!
-
Around 2:30am, I awoke with terrible stomach cramps, which continue to now. At 7:00, I called and moved therapy this morning to Monday. I hope I am not getting sick. Joshie and I have a show to finish.
-
At 10 or so, I will leave for City Center. If this continues, I will call my doctor and possibly go to the ER.
-
Joshie and I have to deal with new transition in the overture and two scores we've been working on together. There is still one major orchestration for Joshie to write, and we may end up doing it together.
-
Yesterday, we co-orchestrated a dance, and it was a lot of fun throwing ideas back and forth. I'm learning two things from working with him: if I'd actually had children, I doubt I'd ever have a better son than he, and I'm actually a pretty good teacher.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Feel-better vibes for Elmore!
-
Yesterday, I heard from the producer of this Moonshine & Mistletoe recording. Things continue for sessions beginning March 27.
-
Good Morning! I'm very happy it's Friday!
-
This weekend the clocks spring forward, and I detest thius time change.
-
FRIDAY!!! DR RLP it is FRIDAY now!
-
Fun to read about how the book is moving along....I look forward to reading it in the good old-fashioned hardcover!
-
They are saying we get one whole inch of snow tomorrow.....so we are lucky!
-
I am choosing my audition scenes and working on the dance sequences for auditions for CURTAINS coming up on April 9 & 10.
-
Good morning, all.
-
We've been getting snow since 5:30 this morning, and with about two inches out there already, we're very lucky that the driveway is putting up a good fight and rejecting it so far. The pavement must have retained some warmth. That won't last forever, but it's a good start.
-
Huge vibes of tummy ache recovery for DR Elmore.
Peppermint spirits! Half a teaspoon in a glass of ice water. Sip slowly. It's a miracle cure.
It's hard to find peppermint spirits in stores now, but you can order from Amazon. It's also hard to identify the right peppermint product. Some are not to be taken internally. I've been searching and will post when I find exactly the right one.

The new revival of THE GLASS MENAGERIE is getting some mixed reactions, leaning toward bad.... This one is typical:

Yikes!!! Health vibes for elmore!

❤😊❤

DR elmore I hope you are working with Josie, feeling better, and not at the ER.
-
Damn it to hell, the snow caught up with the pavement and we now have a solid covering. Hopefully it isn't going to get too much worse. I need to get it cleaned up as best possible before leaving for my show tonight, because it's going down to almost ten degrees overnight, and over the next two nights, so whatever's remaining is going to be there for a good long time.
-
But enough about me!
What do the rest of you think about my snow?? :D
-
Lordy, another Finale upgrade.
I went for the 2014.5 upgrade, and this latest does sound like a worthy one, but unless and until I really start using the program,
I can't give them another $150, no sirree.
-
My folks told me their peach tree was in full blossom. I hope it's not snowing in Louisville. Guess I could check the weather app about that.
-
Thankfully it's in the 40s there.
-
I have to keep remembering this isn't Saturday, because by yesterday evening it was starting to feel like a Friday evening.
So,
It's FRIDAY, damn it. FRIDAY.
-
TOD:
Last night, which wasn't Friday, I finally sat down with the new Blu-ray of Bells Are Ringing, and it is a marvel.
Before that, I made a drink and put on my friend's CD of Moana, a film I haven't seen (but will soon), just to hear what all the fuss was about regarding the songs and score. This friend doesn't care at all for even the tiniest bit of rap in a couple of the numbers, while I find it not at all inappropriate to the rest, and even charming. Different strokes. But I'm the guy who ended up liking In the Heights. I now look forward a little more to seeing the movie, for which I have the 3D Blu-ray on order.
Big Speakers, by the way. Sometimes I forget, which is unacceptable. Good listening must be done on the Big Speakers.
-
Moana - you can never have enough ana.
-
TOD:
I've got Moonlight, Arrival and Black Magic from the library.
-
Moana - you can never have enough ana.
And you can't have mo ana until you've had some ana.

I'm up, I'm up, barely. At two-thirty the book room smoke detector began beeping, once every thirty seconds or so. I got up, mistakenly thought it was the hallway thing and undid that which set off a fire alarm - I stopped that but the fire department called and I had to tell them no. Then I found a nine-volt battery in a drawer and tried swapping it out, to no help, but that battery may not have been good - but when they installed that smoke detector they told me the battery was just for back-up. I closed the door, closed the door to my bedroom, put Kleenex in my ears and finally fell asleep. I just awoke and it's not beeping anymore - any clews?
-
Found this - this was the first time I'd not had the heater on - the culprit and a weak battery that I'll replace today
Most smoke detectors operate on batteries, or have a back-up battery. When these batteries fall below a certain voltage, the detector warns us by chirping. Electricity is produced by a chemical reaction inside the battery. As with most chemical reactions, lower temperatures cause the chemical reactions to occur more slowly. This results in reduced electrical output.
As we all know temperatures drop during the night. When you have a battery that is near the end of its life, it may produce just enough power during the warmth of the day to satisfy the detector. However when the evening temperatures drop enough to slow the chemical reaction of the battery, and thus the electrical output, the detector warns that the battery is too weak to function. And that is why they almost always wake us up in the middle of the night.
-
Sounds right. Mine are wired into the house, and they require the backup battery to be good or you start getting the chirping.
-
My sister has detectors that are wired into the house also, but even when we changed the batteries, it didn't always help. Something else was going on, and I think she just had them disconnected. :-\

That's great, Larry. :)

Emailed the Vixter a picture of our weather she replied she's sweating in a tank top.
-
I may disown her

Tummy vibes for Elmore

I think that giraffe is just fat

Back to work
-
I am home from City Center. Today, we looked over a couple of charts we'd worked on together, and I've brought them home to proofread over the weekend. We also made all the fixes in the overture, and I'm hoping we caught it all.
-
My abdomen still aches. I will see how I'm feeling tomorrow.
-
I may disown her
Probably for the best.

Torso Vibes for DR ELMORE.
True DR CHAS SMITH - sometimes a little ana can go a LONG way.
-
We change our smoke detector batteries on January 1st every year....so we rarely have a chirp.
-
Got both a royalty and a residual check today.
Nice.
:)
-
Back from a little pepperoni pizza, picking up no packages, banking, and buying a nine-volt battery.
-
Battery is installed.
-
I suppose I should do some work right about now.
-
Got both a royalty and a residual check today.
Nice.
:)
Very nice.
-
I don't think fire detector batteries are allowed to fail during business hours. Or when people are awake.
-
Chicken soup for dinner. Let's see hoe that helps.
-
We had chicken pasta salad.
-
Got both a royalty and a residual check today.
Nice.

We had a glorious day. Tomorrow the rain returns and the temps drop again.
-
I wish we had Spring weather. It's crazy how the weather keeps flip flopping. It is very cold with a crazy windchill tonight. I am sick of this weather. I want Spring!
-
Well, I must be off. I'm working concessions again tonight for Black Box Jazz: Nathan Breedlove (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/black-box-jazz-nathan-breedlove/) at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. Should be good!
Be back later.
-
DR Jennifer I admit our bad weather is not as bad as your weather.
-
I have had an ebook on hold with the Oregon library for at least a couple of years now. I believe the system accidentally put the book into hold in error and they didn't own it yet. Today it automatically checked out :o
-
I have one more book on hold there and a good number requests for books to be purchased.
-
Back -- from the first actual rough night with this show.
Theater announcement at the beginning refused to play, so someone read (shouted) it from the back of the room. Georges's opening speech wasn't amplified. Two new orchestra members for this weekend, and one didn't seem to be very good. A new stagehand, and our lovely vamps wore out their welcome on a couple of scene changes. Lines dropped or shuffled. etc. etc. And yet, the audience went crazy at the end. They thought they got their money's worth, so who are we to argue.
-
I think one might argue with Page Two and a Half at nearly midnight on the right coast.
-
But I must needs call it a night. Long day today, and another tomorrow.
-
Page three? REALLY?
-
Watched two motion pictures and then went to Von's and shopped for the next two weeks so I don't have to go out to eat so much - I bought ninety-six dollars' worth of food and with my Von's Club card I saved twenty-six dollars - pretty good.
-
I have lots of cheese, tortillas, lots of pasta, some onion rolls, low-cal hot dogs, caramels, tuna, onions, Wheat Thins, and more.
-
I think page three is rather nauseating, don't you?
-
So, I e-mailed the writer of the musical, telling him I needed clarification on the opening sequence, which makes no sense to me in terms of where what takes place - the first part is easy, but the long scene that follow it as well as the second song were baffling. He admitted that it absolutely made no sense, took my suggestions, so that's the kind of collaboration I like. He asked if I thought there was too much dialogue in that long scene - there is, but I told him I'll stage it and we'll watch and see how it feels - that's the best way because at that point it will be obvious and where to cut will also be obvious. I explained to him that there's so much information coming so fast from characters we've barely met that sometimes that can be confusing for an audience.
-
Page three? Really?
-
Mambo!
-
Yes, I'm listening to Symphonic Dances from West Side Story - this new mix and master is spectacular.
-
Mambo!
-
Is someone trying to gaslight me - we cannot possibly still be on page three.
-
And yet, we are.
-
Shameful and I will be personally bitch-slapping one and all.
-
Page four? Really?
-
