Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a missing train of thought, and now it is time for you to post until the missing cows come home.

I stayed up too late last night to finish reading The Other Boleyn Girl.  It plays fast and loose with history and age of characters, but I enjoyed it, much like a historical movie alters facts for dramatic purposes. It was a good read  with some good suspense in the last chapters.  The author threw the character of Mark Smeaton under the bus in her narrative.  The court musician was tortured until he confessed to adultery with Anne Boleyn and then executed with the other falsely accused men.  For someone so prominent in the case, his one brief appearance in the novel, where he is implicated with all the other executed "lovers" of the Queen as part of a homosexual clique at court, struck me as strange.

TCB are you and your cast mates driving to Iowa or flying? I was confused because of the motel by the airport statement.

If you are driving can't you not ride with a huge bunch of people but instead drive your own car and just have one cast mate join you?

Then you could bring your scooter

If you are flying could you just rent your own car in Iowa and just have one castmate share the car and then you could bring your scooter

I know I should do some crock pot cooking now and then, God knows I love it, but I've always put a corned beef or two into a large pot on the stove, throw in a bunch of "pickling spices" and bay leaves, cook it for whatever number of hours per pound the package recommends, and it has never been less than totally delicious.  It's practically foolproof.

I'm always there checking on it and occasionally turning the pieces which may or may not be doing any good but I'm somehow compelled to do it.  I also usually get to a point where I'm adding a little more water.

What else?  When it's done, before slicing it (which I'm sometimes good at and sometimes not) I cut and scrape off the major hunks of fat that will come off easily.  Because I'm a lean corned beef (and pastrami) kind of guy, don'tcha know.

Iin recent years I've been making two, sometimes three corned beefs (beeves?) because I insist there be leftovers.  This year we'll have a house guest, and I'm making four.

Characters: Some hipster executives
Time: Now

Main Hipster:  Okay, now guys, we are going to re-release this old movie directed by someone named Hitchcoke or something like that.  I watched some of it, couldn't get through all of it, moves too slow, no car chases or anything.....but I am thinking if we change the title, we can get a $40 million opening weekend....   Let's call it:  Nude -- You Die!!!!

There is cloud cover here this morning.  The last few days have been gorgeous.

I actually went for a short walk along the western end of Lake Merritt.  I need to do this every day because the short walk nearly wiped me out.  I did sit and rest...twice.  Sad to say it, but there it is.  The rest of the afternoon and last night, I felt invigorated.  So...I know it's up to me!

Back from snow blowing session #2.  Frosty scarf, cap, gloves, etc. are in the dryer.  We are not exactly down to asphalt for most of the length of the driveway, but the next, and I hope final, step for today will be salting and sanding the critical uphill parts.

Okay, a little more photographic evidence.  Made these a little smaller, but I've got to figure that out someday so it isn't always guesswork.

The part of the driveway in front of the house.  You can't really see where it snakes down and around a bend then up another hill, after which it eventually goes back down to street level.  But it does.

I had a little nap and i'm feeling more awake now.  The City's a mess today.  None of the bus stops are accessible because the piled up snow from the street is so hgh that you cannot get to a bus.  The intersections have little lanes between the piles of snow to get from sidewalk or curb to the street.  Navifation is not easy.

I'm at work, listening to the new original Broadway cast recording of Come From Away (http://www.npr.org/2017/03/02/517968134/first-listen-come-from-away-original-broadway-cast-recording), streaming from NPR.  In the picture you can see one of the leads, Chad Kimball (in the red and black jacket), and right behind him is a guy playing a small accordion.  That's the music director/conductor, Ian Eisendrath.  He's from Olympia!  I know him! :D

And just for fun:

In the top left photo, you see Ken Howard, Michele Lee and Mayor Lindsay (who did a walk-on).

"Seesaw" is the musical production.

The photo on the top right is Tommy Tune, Michele Lee and company (Number 4, 1909?).  He won a Tony as featured actor in a musical for this show.

If we drive up to Seattle this summer would the Mexican restaurant be a good place to meet or a bit out of the way?

It's about a mile from where I live and right off the freeway, so it's very easy to get to.

I was not able to walk at all today.  Aside from not getting any exercise I did not check out the rising water levels on the river.  There is an article, with photos, on facebook from our local paper.  I can't seem to copy to paste it here.  I will try to do so tomorrow, unless anyone can tonight.

It appears the water has reached the bench at the end of the Marina, not good at all.

TCB are you and your cast mates driving to Iowa or flying? I was confused because of the motel by the airport statement.

If you are driving can't you not ride with a huge bunch of people but instead drive your own car and just have one cast mate join you?

Then you could bring your scooter

Actually, we are going to Idaho, not Iowa.  The motels near the airport are less expensive than the ones in downtown Boise, but the airport is only about 15 minutes  away from downtown.  It all comes down to money.

Driving myself (and one other) is looking like a better option for me.  It is an 8 hour drive from Tacoma.

If you are flying could you just rent your own car in Iowa and just have one castmate share the car and then you could bring your scooter

Nope, not flying there.

I must say that Rachmaninov's Vocalise is simply one of the most beautiful pieces of music in the history of music - listening to Stokowski's superb version.
