Well, you've read the notes, the notes are finally here, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently not finally here.
-
And the word of the day is: EFFULGENCE!
-
First post after BK!
-
Good morning, all
-
Good night, all.
-
Good morning, all
Is it time to get up?
-
Good night, John.
-
Good night, Jane.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Tom, I just bought a ticket to see Gypsy at Tacoma Little Theatre for TONIGHT's performance! This is the ONLY time that I'll be able to see the show.
-
You gotta wake up early in the morning to be first after BK!
-
I'm up early, but not early enough, though!
-
I'm ready to order the new release. Why isn't it on sale yet?
-
Seriously, I loved this album when I was young, and the improvements that are being made sound wonderful.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept poorly. I think I was too excited about today's rehearsal and sitzprobe. I also got home so late that I had no time to unwind. At 5:45 this mornin, I was wide awake, and at 6:25, I decided to stop lying about.
-
And Happy St Patrick's Day!
-
I will leave here around 8:30. I'll take the No. 79 bus to Columbus Avenue and transfer to a No. 11. Since I have no idea how bad traffic will be at 42nd Street between the drivers going to work and the crowds coming in got the parade, I want to give myself plenty of time to get to 37th and 9th Avenue before 10:00.

Vibes for Elmore and the whole New Yorkers gang

Gotta go the dealership

Vibes for Elmore and the whole New Yorkers gang
Thank you, DR vixmom!
-
Back from the dealership. All packed up. Gotta go load this stuff into the car
-
It smells good....
-

-
Happy St Patricks Day to one and all and also to all and one
-
Special survival vibes to those Manhattenites dealing with the parade attendees...you couldn't pay me enough to run into that bunch of drunken yahoos today
-
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
I have to head out. Pray for Rosemary's baby.
DR vixmom, I hope to be far away from the parade group today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vixmom's meal sounds fine. I might just drop by their office today.
-
T.O.D.
I was going to rent FENCES from Redbox, but after MANCHESTER BY THE SEA and MOONLIGHT, I'm really not in the mood for another "downer." so I'll probably watch a couple of movies I have recorded: APRIL SHOWERS and THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY.
-
I am officially sick and tired of these arctic temperatures. It went down to seventeen last night, and though there are a couple of nights of "normal" freezing ahead, there are more single digit and teens beyond those, with no end in sight.
Could we have February back, please?
-
Well, a lass and alas, it is time for me to get myself set up in the kitchen and start cooking some corned beef.
-
Best vibes to DR Elmore & Co. for a wonderful get-together and rehearsal today.
-
Good Morning to all
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely. Problem with the Kritzerland home page so we're trying to get it fixed - until it is we can't announce because you can't actually get to the damn home page (direct links to the pages work fine but that's of no help to us).
-
It's Friday, and I'm ready for a nice weekend!
-
All is well - orders are coming in. Do not miss this one.

Kritzerland is proud to present a world premiere release of the complete soundtrack to the animated classic film:
A BOY NAMED CHARLIE BROWN
Music by Vince Guaraldi
Songs by Rod McKuen
Additional Orchestral Accompaniment and Conducted by John Scott Trotter
Good grief, it’s A Boy Named Charlie Brown – on CD – complete! A Boy Named Charlie Brown opened on December 4, 1969 at the Radio City Music Hall, only the third animated feature to play there (the first two were Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Bambi). It boasted the largest advance sale of any picture in Radio City Music Hall history. It became an instant classic, the reviews were great, audiences flocked to the film and it has remained an instant classic ever since. Vincent Canby summed it all up in his New York Times review: “A practically perfect screen equivalent to the quiet joys to be found in almost any of Charles M. Shulz’s Peanuts comic strips.”
Of course, Charlie and company had already had several animated hits on TV and one of main components of those was the witty and tuneful music of jazz great Vince Guaraldi. Producer Lee Mendelsohn was driving home from a meeting with Schulz when he happened to hear Guaraldi’s classic “Cast Your Fate to the Wind” on the radio. He contacted Guaraldi, cast his fate to the wind, and the rest is musical history and heaven.
Guaraldi’s music for A Boy Named Charlie Brown is simply amazing and simply perfect. Add to that the fantastic underscore of John Scott Trotter and songs by Rod McKuen and you have the makings of a classic soundtrack, so much so that the music was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song Score. There was, of course, a soundtrack release by Columbia Records, but it was more of a “story” album, with a lot of talking over virtually every cue, some of it written specifically for the LP. Soundtrack fans longed for a complete soundtrack release without the narration. They longed for many years.
But good grief, guess what? This world premiere CD release was produced from the original music-only session masters before the narration was overlaid and so, at long last, fans have what they’ve been asking for four decades, the complete score and songs with no narration at all in pristine and glorious stereophonic sound. Vince Guaraldi was one of the all-time greats and this CD is a testament to his genius and brilliance. So, come join Charlie, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the entire Peanuts gang for an infectious, tuneful, and magical musical adventure.
A Boy Named Charlie Brown is limited to 1000 copies only and is priced at $19.98, plus shipping.
CDs will ship by the first week of May, but we’ve actually been averaging three to five weeks early in terms of shipping ahead of the official ship date. To place an order, see the cover, or hear audio samples, just visit www.kritzerland.com.
ATTENTION INDIEGOGO CONTRIBUTORS: FOR THIS RELEASE - IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE THIS CD YOU NEED TO OPT-OUT BY SENDING US AN E-MAIL OPTING OUT PRIOR TO THE DATE IT SHIPS - SEND TO kritzerland@gmail.com. IF YOU DO WISH TO RECEIVE IT, YOU DON"T NEED TO DO ANYTHING. IF YOU ARE NOT AN INDIEGOGO CONTRIBUTOR, ORDER AS YOU NORMALLY WOULD. THANK YOU.

Corned beefs are cooking, and the house already smells good.
Decided against trying the crock pot this time. I want everything proceeding at the same pace on the stove top. Corned beefs should be done between three and four, which is perfect. They will "rest" while the veggies cook.

Friday afternoon greetings! Taking it easy after my busy day yesterday. I puttered this morning and am now settled in for Michigan's first round March Madness game. It's not starting well...
-
MICHIGAN vibes for DR GINNY.
-
Good morning, all II
-
Let's see if this one sticks.
-
Sitzprobe vibes for Elmore.
-
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
I have been to the Emerald Isle, and it is beautiful. We were at a theatre competition in Dundalk which is on the Western coast....there were a lot of kids panhandling - and it was strange to see KIDS in the pubs drinking and having fun....
We didn't win, but it was great!

-
DR DRUXY I watched THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY last night on TCM - I remember it being promoted HEAVILY on "The Wonderful World of Color" - and it wasn't quite as exciting as the commercials made it seem to be, but it had great color and was fun. I am more aware of the animals being manipulated now, of course, but it is a nice story.
-
DR VIXMOM your office would keep a television soap opera going for more than a year!
-
CD ORDERED! I have the LP, and because of the dialog, I probably only played it a couple of times....it will be great to have the MUSIC.
-

Got another two and a half hours of sleep, I think.

DR JANE mentioned a movie yesterday that I should have had on my list:
Colossus: The Forbin Project
We saw it at the drive three or four times.....I bought the DVD years ago. Good movie!
-
My corned beef and cabbage was a success
-
I couldn't post the picture here from my phone but it's on my book face page if someone. Cares to put it here
-
Vixmom's meal sounds fine. I might just drop by their office today.
You would have been very welcome

And what is this nonsense about. More snow this weekend ?

DR VIXMOM your office would keep a television soap opera going for more than a year!
It's not usually this eventful but it's been a crazy 2 weeks
-
Vixdad and I are off to a sci-fi convention
-
Back from a patty melt and small Caesar and picking up one teeny-tiny package.
-
All orders thus far are printed - so far, so good and it's still only been eight hours.
-
Listening to music and will now attempt to finish the commentary.
-
That sounds like fun DR VIXMOM. Photos appreciated.
-
Haven't touched the commentary due to getting the Facebook event page for the Kritzerland show up - I don't know why they make it so time-consuming and difficult, but alas they do, and in fact they make it worse every time. There should be an easy way to save certain information, like invitees, if you one is doing a monthly event.
-

I was surprised it hadn't been mentioned. I'm glad you agree.

Fun :)

Eric Braden from FORBIN had been on the tv show The Rat Patrol. I liked that show a lot, although I think he used a different name on it.
-
I am home from the sitzprobe, which lasted until 6:00. BK, I did give your greetings to Ruth Williamson, Eddie Korbich, and Kevin Chamberlain. They said hello.
-
Joshie and I are rock stars. At the end of the rehearsal, Rob told the cast and orchestra to give us a standing ovation. We were very flattered. I think our work is quite good, and we syill have a chance to screw things up with the number of small underscores we beed to work on tomorrow. I'll go in at 11:30 tomorrow.

Commentary is finished and I'm listening to music.
-
Well, I must be off now. I'm going to my parents' for dinner, then I'm off to the wilds of Tacoma to see Gypsy at Tacoma Little Theatre (https://www.tacomalittletheatre.com/home). I hope it's good. I'll have a report when I get back tonight.
Until later!
-
Tired.
-
So tired that I typed tird.
-
Page three? Really?
-
Congrats to DR Rock Star Elmore!
-
Me, I'm stuffed full of corned beef, horseradish sauce, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, carraway soda bread, Irish butter... and an ice cold IPA, which is about as Irish as the rest of that.

Keith sees him on a soap opera every day at the gym, not that Keith watches the soap.

George you might be interested to know that we spend an hour chatting wit Peter David. Tonight was a slow night , I suspect due to St Pattys celebrations there was no one at his table

Interesting. I'll check it out when I get home.

It's intermission. As for the show, I'm enjoying the show (it's a great show), but I'm not loving the casting. At first, i thought that Rose sounded like she wass having voice problems, but after a while, I think that she doesn't have a strong enough belt voice for the role. And neither Rose nor (older) June have much of a head voice, at all. They can act well enough, but It's not enough. The other negative is that I'm not loving (older) Louise's acting choices. We'll see what it's like in the second act.
Jed is good...which is not a surprise.
-
So happy for you, Elmore. Did you have a favorite moment?
-
Good evening, again!
-
Finished with my viewing - half a movie - could not take any more in one sitting - Interiors. The writing is so awful - sorry, Woody.

Where do you find such a beautiful corned beef. Mine are always half fat.

I have been watching March Madness all day, but I had to stop at 8:00 p.m. to watch GRIMM. It is really getting good as it marches to its final episode.
-
I may have to beg George to record the episode on 3/31, since I will be on stage doing SECOND SAMUEL.
-
Interiors was not Cries and Whispers.
-
It doesn't sound like George is "loving" GYPSY.
-
Watching The Triplets of Belleville. Just a joy.
-
Hello, John!

Hello, Jane.

I may have to beg George to record the episode on 3/31, since I will be on stage doing SECOND SAMUEL.
I can easily do that. :)
-
It doesn't sound like George is "loving" GYPSY.
Well, I think that the people next to me who chatted a liitle too much might have influenced my opinion, a bit. I really enjoyed the second act. It felt like it was much better than the first.
-
Overall, it was a good production. The costumes were great, the set and staging were effective. They didn't get a standing ovation at all, but the applause was genuinely appreciative. Rose was a good actress, but the top notes of the songs were just a note or two too high. If they could've lowered the keys, she would've been much better.

Thank you, sir.
-
Oh, and they used canned music. I hadn't thought about how that small theater was going to handle the orchestra, and that's how they did it. There were only three or four moments where it was a bit awkward, but it was never a train wreck. The tracks otherwise sounded well enough....just a little soft on the opening attack of the notes, if that makes sense.
-
Tom, I do think you'll enjoy this show. :)
-
I did see Jed and said "hi" from you, Tom. He seemed happy to hear that. I also got to see my friend Joe. He was good in his roles.
-
Well, I'm sitting in my car just a couple of blocks from the theater using up my data plan to post, so I'm going to go now.
I probably won't be back before the new day switches, so I'm outta here!
-

I wonder if Stephanie strained her voice doing the show. Alec Clayton thought her voice was terrific when he saw it last weekend.
