I am still laughing over what DR CHAS SMITH said yesterday.....it always makes me laugh when someone mentions tinkling on the ivories......first heard when I was six years old......

It rather makes you ponder what's about to happen when someone says, "I have to go tinkle".
tOnly because a major thunderstorm just rolled in.
I just read the headline regarding the storm and wondered if you experienced any of it.

The grass grew about three inches overnight.
The record store was on 3rd about three blocks east of La Cienaga, maybe four, south side of the street in a little strip mall, owned by a Frenchman named Renee - a soundtrack store, basically.

I have never heard "tinkling" ;D

In the south, ladies would use it sparingly when directing guests who might need to use the facilities.
A neighbor lady, inviting me to enjoy their pool as her son's friend, turned to me and said, "No tinkling in the pool."
I knew what she meant, but wondered at why she felt she needed to say it to me.
DR RLP maybe you had a tinkle in your eye.
Enjoying a little libation there, DR Ginny? Good spot to relax.
Safe and happy travel vibes on your return to Beautiful SW Ohio!
Kritzerland is proud to present a world premiere CD release:
JULES VERNE’S ROCKET TO THE MOON
Composed and Conducted by John Scott
The 1960s brought us a whole slew of period comedy adventure films like The Great Race, Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, and Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies – movies with all-star casts, lots of slapstick comedy, and filled with all manner of heroes, villains, and eccentric characters. Two years after Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines had its successful run, Jules Verne’s Rocket to the Moon hit movie screens in the UK. This time the all-star cast included Burl Ives, Terry-Thomas, Dennis Price, Troy Donahue, Gert Frobe, Hermione Gingold, and Lionel Jeffries. The film is handsomely photographed in scope and color, and has a lot of top-notch production values. And it’s graced with a truly wonderful and tuneful score by John Scott (billed as Patrick John Scott).
By the time of Rocket to the Moon, the word-of-mouth on John Scott’s film scoring abilities was spreading, and director Don Sharp hired him to do the score – that began a fruitful director/composer relationship that continued for several years. For Rocket to the Moon, Scott came up with a tuneful, eclectic, and wonderful score – the main theme is so infectiously melodic that it’s hard to get it out of your head once you’ve heard it.
Rocket to the Moon was released on LP in the UK – this is its CD debut. John Scott’s music has delighted and touched audiences all over the world, and it’s enlivened and enhanced a whole slew of movies, including Antony and Cleopatra, England Made Me, Billy Two Hats, a whole series of Jacques Cousteau specials, North Dallas Forty, The Final Countdown, Where Eagles Fly, Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Harem, The Shooting Party, King Kong Lives, Man on Fire, Black Rainbow, Shoot to Kill, Becoming Collette, The Whistle Blower, and many, many others. No matter what the genre, his scores are filled with wonderful themes, running the gamut from drama to comedy to romance, to adventure, thrills, and suspense, or whatever else the films might have called for.
Jules Verne’s Rocket to the Moon is limited to 1000 copies only and is priced at $19.98, plus shipping.
CDs will ship by the second week of May, but we’ve actually been averaging three to five weeks early in terms of shipping ahead of the official ship date. To place an order, see the cover, or hear audio samples, just visit www.kritzerland.com.
"This baby gots to go winky tinky!"
One of my favorite movie quotes. From Paper Moon.
Wednesday afternoon greetings! We checked out of our hotel, left our suitcases with the bellman, and went to 42nd Street for a 10:30 showing of HIDDEN FIGURES, which we both liked a lot. Just finished lunch at the Brooklyn Diner Times Square location and now we're hanging out in the 8th floor lobby of the Marriott Marquis. In about an hour we'll retrieve our bags and head for the airport.

What program do you use to format your books on Kindle?
DR Jane, the Broadway matinees all ran too long for us to be sure that we could get to the airport in time and we're both too tired to walk a lot, so the movie today was just right.

Especially for me, since my book group is discussing the book at my house on April 20!
DR GEORGE - Gretchen Cryer was the first wife of David Cryer - father of Jon - they met at DePauw University.
I did THE CRUCIBLE with David and his new wife.....of a couple of decades....back in 2012. They were both very nice.
David was given an honorary degree of some kind by DePauw a few years ago....when he got up to speak he said: "I am very nervous today, but not for the reason you might think. My first wife is sitting beside my second wife in the front row......"
Britt Swanson Cryer was most excellent in the play and a joy to be with - she was a dancer who worked a lot with Agnes DeMille back in the 1950's -60's.
Good afternoon.
I'm subbing on Keyboard 2 in a few performances of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in April, and they seem to be following the style of the original "Brown Album"... which is fine with me because after all these years I still know that better than its various incarnations. (They're just using five musicians.) So I just put it on to listen, and while almost every bar was familiar, I was appalled at how unsatisfying a recording it is. This is a flawless original pressing LP, but man, did I ever have a distorted memory of the sound. I remembered there being a few edits/splices on it that would alarm a horse, but the overall sound is thin and shallow, especially when things get layered and complex. So...
Asking BK or anyone who might know: Before I go looking around, was this ever remastered in a good way? If not, is it a candidate for a proper treatment? Original booklet says 16 tracks...
I hope today's m&m recording was a happier experience for you Elmore

Interesting. I am curious if the movie & book differ much as I never read it.
Since we had early morning trips, last minute appointments as we both needed things checked & removed unexpectedly, Keith suggested dinner out tonight. We went to Beaches where everyone knows your name, at least the waitresses we like the best.
Once again I had a biopsy. I hope this time, vs the last two, I do not have to return for a deeper removal and begin the healing process again.

~~~Biopsy Vibes for Jane!!~~~
Aww, Jane. I'm sorry. I hope you get good news back.
The movie Hidden Figures features several scenes that are said to be fictional, including the one where Kevin Costner removes the whites only sign by the bathroom.
Did the book also contain fictional events?
The Einstein on the Beach viewing continues. The bird is not amused. The music is stressing him out. And it's calming me.
Not from what I understand.
Going to the Fur Ball tomorrow. Love the name. It's a fundraiser for the Animal Defense League.
Vixmom: Waterbury, CT. Seven Angels Theatre. It would be the route you drove for Ragtime, but some 20 minutes shorter. If you're interested I'll get you my dates.
Good luck with everything, Tom!!
SECOND SAMUEL went very well last night.
SAFE AND EASY TRAVELS VIBES FOR DR TCB!
