Good cop movies on the subject (e.g. THE FRENCH CONNECTION, SERPICO, etc.) are, of course. exceptions.

Feeling slightly better this morning (at 2:36 AM).

Nowhere near my old self, but this is the best since the operation last Thursday.

I need to get back to editing my 2 books that will be coming out later this year, but I'm told that that's not likely to happen for another 4-5 weeks.

It's difficult to concentrate.

Okay, so, yesterday afternoon I popped in the Charlie Brown CD just for a casual first time listen while puttering around, and was stunned by the richness and beauty of both the score and the recording.

Much of this is new to me.  Yes, I'm weird.  While I grew up liking the Peanuts comic strip, I never developed a passion for the various animated incarnations of that world, and I never saw this movie.  But -- wow.  No wonder people are crazy about the music, and it's no wonder the CD sold out right away.  VERY happy to have it.

Regarding "A Boy Named Charlie Brown" - I think the title song had been my favorite when I was a kid, but now "Champion Charlie Brown" feels at least as good.

I plan to lie low.  If I had a legit excuse to stay away, I'd do it.  I'm not thrilled about being stuck in a studio for eight hours with people I'e come to regard unkindly.  The good news is that there are some beautiful people coming in and out today to do their thing.  Yesterday, our original Jarrett, who missed last year's reading, came back and it was really good to see him.  I'm very happy with the cast.

I don't enjoy films with gangsters or drug users, Sherlock Holmes being the exception.  That said, I think DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES is absolutely wonderful.

This is better for my post-surgical ills than chicken soup.  Got a nice review from Frances Doel on Amazon for my latest play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS series, AVA & HER GUYS.

I looked up the weather in Boise and it appears to be 37 degrees and raining.

We got ahead of schedule, woth an hour break before we recorded the two children, so I came home. The day went okay but the producer and engineer continue to irritate me.

The cast was wonderful.  We have a new juvenile for the recording, Nicholas Belton, and I suspect DR Ginny and Richard saw him as Andrei in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet.  He was quite good today.

After a week in New York, I have noticed several things here at home:

1) Our house seems so spacious, compared to the hotel room that wasn't much bigger than our bedroom,

2) It's so quiet without the sirens, taxi horns, and jackhammers,

3) Our backyard is so much greener than the pass-through park across from our hotel, and

4) Except for the 2 former Miami University colleagues I ran into, all the customers at Kroger seemed to have stepped out of DELIVERANCE.

I have a book to read on my Kindle app.  I dislike reading on this app as I can't change the background to black.  The white bothers me at night and tends to give me migraines.  I may only be able to read during the day, which means it will be a slow read.
