Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both external and internal, and now it is time for you to post until the external and internal cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RAMPIKE!
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after TCB!

Tom, yes, I did see THE STORY OF MY LIFE at OLT.

Tom, yes, I did see THE STORY OF MY LIFE at OLT.
Well, Frank and Micheal are playing Edna and Wilbur in The Federal Way production of HAIRSPRAY.

Cool! I hope I can see that!

That's nice that your production is being done so close to your house. When does it play?

The performances are July 5-16.

Great. I will put that on my calendar.

And I just realized that I had been thinking that the performances would be in June, but they're in July. And rehearsals begin June 12. I guess we'll really need to learn the lines before rehearsals start!

Wow!
I don't know why there's so much time before rehearsals start.

Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
I also like 36 HOURS.
Great premise; quite entertaining.
-
I didn't catch up before I posted last night

-
Good morning, all!
-
I am hopefully back to my usual sleep pattern, There were many dreams. I remember none.
-
I am meeting a friend for lunch at noon. I'll work on Guys & Dolls until I leave.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had a pretty good sleep, which I must say was absolutely essential so I'm very thankful nothing screwed it up.
One semi-interesting dream, but it was fading faster than I could latch on to it upon waking up.
-
I guess last night's moon was kinder to many of us than the previous night's moon.
-
A number of things need to be caught up on today.
For instance, I'm now ridiculously late in getting my snow tires removed and replaced by the regular ones. This should have been done a couple of weeks ago. I hate having put unnecessary mileage on them.
(I wish I'd taken one last picture of our last remaining vestiges of snow that were still in evidence several days ago.)
-
Laundering and changing the bed must be done. The Music Room must be straightened up and I need to get back to resolving an issue with RMS Keyboard Solutions.
-
I'm well aware that this is a pretty exciting string of posts. I hope they don't distract everyone else from their own duties!
-
Good morning, all.

June 12 is when I leave for a digital banking conference. Last year, I was just switching to a bank focus and did not get to go. It was in New Orleans. This year, when I get to go, it's in -- drumroll, please -- Austin.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about six and a half hours of sleep.
-
Posting from the car place...not for the first time, and it certainly won't be the last...where I wait to have the tires changed over.
-
My first post of the day.
-
Back home, and without having spent a dime. That's two things in a row they've done for me as a "courtesy".
I suppose they're trying to ensure I don't take my upcoming timing belt replacement business elsewhere...
-
Well more controversy.....I cast a mature looking High School Senior in the lead, and Niki is somewhat older. Now the community is in an uproar because of it.....and we haven't even started rehearsals yet.
People are such idiots. It's a PLAY....it's PRETEND.....mind your own GD BUSINESS.
However, I don't want THEM to have to be the targets of idiots.....so I may have to recast Frank.
I hate this show....I HATE IT.....I wish I had never said I would do it.
And that's my day.....or rather my life for the next two months.
-
Good morning.
I have nothing to say this morning. This should change throughout the day, no doubt
-
I just had to turn down an invite to an eight-course Titanic dinner based on original menus. Already had plans. Bummer.
-
Anti-hate vibes for JRAND..
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! I was up and about getting ready for a mid-morning coffee date with Becky when she texted me to cancel due to illness. Went ahead and went to the grocery and have now finished a big batch of Lemon Lime Jello Pineapple Cottage Cheese Surprise to take to the Maundy Thursday dinner at the church where Fr. Richard will deliver the sermon tomorrow. The portion for us here at home has pecans added in, but I hesitate to take anything with nuts to a potluck because so many people have allergies.

I hope they work DR JOHN G

DR Jrand66: Oy!

It's Titanic season!
Those dinners were all the rage in these here parts once the popularity of the James Cameron film was in full swing.
We here at the house had the first one we know of, in April 1998. A select group of friends was invited, all of whom were very much into coming in full period costume and casually acting the parts of key individuals on the ship.
My oh my, we were adventurous back then.

what we'uns in Texas call a lime congealed salad.
I have to make it often for my dance teacher. Her favorite.

The road had led to SA. Two for the Rosd has arrived and it is just what the doctor ordered.

I am back from a nice lunch with my FB friend Jeffrey Eisner. He's off to see Bette in Hello Dolly! and I am home to Guys & Dolls.

So sorry, DR JRand66. Tell the moaners to get over it. I once - possibly DR Ginny did, too - saw a misguided community theatre production of Oklahoma! in which the Will Parker and Ado Annie were played by siblings. I was very uncomfortable about it, but there was no uproar.
-
LOL - well DR ELMORE I can at least say they are NOT related.

Medical vibes for Ron
Thanks.

Double thanks.

Thanks, Fred!

Laundering and changing the bed must be done.
I was finally able to do this last night!
-
Just had to share. ;)

And I just realized that I had been thinking that the performances would be in June, but they're in July. And rehearsals begin June 12. I guess we'll really need to learn the lines before rehearsals start!
June 12 is when I leave for a digital banking conference. Last year, I was just switching to a bank focus and did not get to go. It was in New Orleans. This year, when I get to go, it's in -- drumroll, please -- Austin.
John, will you be flying or driving that incredibly long distance from your home??
;D

June 12 is the 19th anniversary of when I first test drove my car! It had all of 20 miles on it. Now, it has over 174,000 miles! I actually bought it on June 14, so that's its "gotcha" day. June 16th is my mom's birthday, and the 22nd will be my parents' 52 wedding anniversary!

Send TCB in your place! I'm sure he'd LOVE to be your proxy!

That was the first show I worked on here in town. Volunteered to help with make-up and I was treated so badly I vowed never to go back. Then, my boss's boss appointed me to the board of the sponsoring group, so they kind of had to accept me. Baptism by fire in AUNTIE MAME kind of bought me some credibility.
I did not know the people well enough to know that Ado Annie and Will were siblings.
-
True DR GEORGE - you would think it would go without saying.
Oh my.....I hope some people spend the time they would have used to come to see the show to write letters to the editor and post things on FaceBook.....
-
I am off a bit early so that I can talk to the set designer.....
Pray for Rosemary's Baby.

I am so enjoying Two for the Road.

My Mazda 3 is 12 years old with almost 175,000 on it. A big chunk of that was the Barbecue trail.
-
Speaking of which, I had brisket, ribs and jalapeņo sausage for lunch. Happy.
-
I had a salad with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers for lunch.
-
It's 65 degrees outside. It's in the 50s in my office. My new space heater is a blessing.
-
I watched "Feud: Hagsploitation" last night. Very excellent.
-
Stanley Tucci is a wonderful Jack L. Warner!
-
I never knew any back story on Crawford's brother, either.

Jack: When you say "the community is an uproar", do you mean local townfolks or the "theatrical" community?

My mom's town was hit by a tornado last week.
She's fine and experienced no damage, but another part of town was hit rather hard.

That church is my mom's church.

My mom and aunt drove from Johnston to nearby Ward SC, the "path" of the tornado, and witnessed uprooted trees and pickups overturned and tossed into fields.

Ditto!

Well, it's time for me to leave work and go to the Washington Center to usher for some private fund raising event for the Center. I'm not exactly sure what we'll be doing, but I'll be there.
Be back later.
-
But before I go...

Gratuitous Post #100!

Hello!
-
Casting vibes for DR George!
-
Jack: When you say "the community is an uproar", do you mean local townfolks or the "theatrical" community?
I am, of course, picturing villagers with torches.
-
Ron P - Such a relief that your mom is OK!
-
Jrand - You should just change shows and cast them as son and mother in THE LAST STARFIGHTER.
:)
-
Hand vibes for Jane
Thank you.

(I wish I'd taken one last picture of our last remaining vestiges of snow that were still in evidence several days ago.)
Plus the noise they make and the rough ride. We drove from Ashland to L.A. a couple of times in the winter. People were fascinated and asked about our strange tires ;D

My brudder was already there when I got there which was good because it took two,of us to get those 35 year old screws out of the frames and to lift the mattress
-
DR Ron I know you are relieved your mother and your home are ok. It is a charming town from what I can see.
-
I am about to channel my inner George... I am going over to my Mom's to take apart her king size bed in preparation for the delivery of a brand new queen size bed tomorrow
Good wishes she is more comfortable in the new bed. I am guessing this will be bittersweet.

Good.
-
Good afternoon (or evening, or night-- depending on where you are) on a warm Wednesday.
-
Good evening - I have nothing of interest to report. Except that I've purchased tickets for Cats and Miss Saigon for next week. Still 2 viewing times open, they will be TKTS purchases I do believe!
-
Back from a really long day of EPAs. These are mandated Equity calls - every Equity production must have a day where any Equity person can sign up and audition. Now, wouldn't you think that this would be something everyone in LA would do - I mean the musical theatre people? We had fifty people show up - not a terrible number, but it should have easily been 100 or more. I mean they get 200 actors auditioning at these awful bigger musical houses - yes, they pay more, but only by like $200. This is a good contract, four weeks of work, and they get their insurance weeks. Fifty people. I find it shameful. Sometimes people don't show because they think they don't have a chance at getting cast. Guess what - I cast a role instantly today after seeing one young man - we just gave him the part. So, you never know.
-
Had a taco and cheese enchilada for lunch.
-
Page five? Really?
-
Good evening.
-
Glad your Mom and family are OK, Ron. The photos were scary.
-
Watching a Brokenwood. I don't want to wait another year for another few episodes.
-
Got an invite to a bourbon launching party complete with George Strait and his band in May. Should be a fun evening.
-
Good night, all.
-
Bruce I would have expected a better turn out.
-
Casting vibes for DR George!
Thanks, Kevin!

That would be cool!

I'm home. The event for which I ushered was a special event for donators to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. There was some finger food and wine for the patrons, and a trio (two brothers and a sister all in their mid to late 20s with one playing guitar) performed for about a half hour. They were very good. The sister is a new member on the WCPA board. The singers, the food, and a couple of speeches was pretty much was it.
-
After we ushers were done with the event, my friend Margo (who also ushered) went to a local restaurant. I just had an appetizer. We chatted for a bit then we left. I went shopping at a couple of places in Lacey (about 5 miles north of where the restaurant was) and I just happened to run into my sister and her boyfriend at the Lacey Fred Meyer! We chatted a bit, then I came home.
-
Good evening!
-
George, thanks again for GRIMM. I watched this afternoon. Wow!
-
I am very glad that I got to see the end, or I would never have believed it.
-
George, thanks again for GRIMM. I watched this afternoon. Wow!
Great!
-
Ron, I am very glad that your mom is okay. That is really scary.
-
George, how many people were at the fundraiser?
-
Ron, when you move back east, are you going to live in that town, or are you staying in a big city?
-
Another rainy day in Tacoma.
-
I am beginning to wonder if we are ever going to have Spring this year.
-
They are saying that Easter Sunday should be dry.
-
George, how many people were at the fundraiser?
I'd heard about 40-45.

Yes. I had some meatballs, several kinds of cheeses, a couple if pita bread triangles, and some small slices of crunchy garlic bread. They also had some melted cheesy crab and artichoke dip, but I'm not a dan of crab, so I didn't have any of that.
