Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of fetid ice cream, and now it is time for you to post until the fetid cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LILAC!
-
First post after BK!
-
First post after TCB!
-
From yesterday...TCB, there have been a couple of "Doctor Who" movies. And a couple of years ago, a couple of special TV episodes were shown in theaters.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
John G - congrats on your Fiesta medals!
-
More feel-better vibes to Jennifer!
-
BK - glad you noticed the problem with the ice cream before it made you sick.
-
Good morning, all.
-
A bit early here for a Sunday, but what can I say, I'm up.
-
Playing the matinee which is the closing performance of JCS today.
The traffic over to Waterbury has proven so unpredictable and -- when it's bad, it's bad -- that I'm now building in a full hour just for the driving portion between the two towns. In "normal" traffic it's a 25-minute drive.
-
Happy and healthy Sunday vibes to all.
-
Good morning, all.

Happy and healthy Sunday vibes to all.
Added vibes to all.
-
Waking up with a Rocket to the Moon.
-
Since we have a free weekend of HBO, we watched THE NICE GUYS last night.
Fun stuff, but the plot is utterly confusing.
-
Good morning, all!
-
My allergies along with my back are acting up this morning.
-
In yesterday's mail there were two - count 'em two! - more letters about this physical therapy mess fro my HMO. I think that yomorrow morning I may take them to the therapy office and get this sorted, if possible.
-
Good morning to all
-
Today, I have to tackle "Luck Be A Lady," the other gigantic number in Act Two of Guys & Dolls. After that, the hump is over, and it's all easy work from then on.
-
DR John G, another medal!
-
BK
I would have called headquarter and complained about the food and the managers attitude. God knows how much other food there might be out of date! They are waiting for a law suit to happen.
-
DR Ginny, how's Richard feeling?

Yep.

My allergies along with my back are acting up this morning.
Not one minute before reading this, I sneezed about eight times, right out of the blue.
Just hit the FloNase. And the Visine, because my eyes have been irritated since yesterday or the day before.

Yep.
Seconded. Or thirded. I'd send them the full riot act in writing. A lowly store employee being shown a two-year-old expiry date should be embarrassed and apologetic at the very least. But a manager???

DR Elmore: Does the Encores! Saturday matinee always include the talkback?
It looks like that's as good a time as any for me to make The Golden Apple.

Yes. After every Saturday matinee.

I've called the airlines. I have a printout of the site confirmation, the money has been deducted from my account. And it's 24 hours later and I still wait on the email condormation which was supposedly sent at 10:15 yesterday morning. WTF?
-
That happens to me with email confirmations that are supposedly sent out within seconds of paying for something. It's totally maddening.
-
Thank you to everyone for your song suggestions about greed. I'm looking for more suggestions on a different topic now. This time, I'm looking for songs from shows where two people are together, then break up, then get back together again. Thanks!
-
Sunday morning greetings!
DR Ginny, how's Richard feeling?
He's up and about but not ready to set the world on fire. He's getting pretty tired of the BRAT diet - bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Oh, and Jello.
-
Amy, Alan Jay Lerner and Kurt Weill's Love Life covers that ground over 200 years.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep because I, too, had an allergy attack at six in the morning, despite having taken a Claritin D at one in the morning.
-
I'm out of orange juice.
-
I was about to have some ice cream, and then I read the notes.....
-
Closing day vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
Nice day here weather wise and other wise - although it takes just too much effort to do ANYTHING....I just want to be well....please....this is for the birds....
-
Lucille Ball loved the lilacs in her yard when she was growing up in Celeron and Jamestown, NY. She kept her gardener busy planting them in her yard in Beverly Hills.....but they wouldn't grow in California...for some reason.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Shaved with the new Braun and it was just as nice as the first time. Very happy with this purchase and especially not having to shave and then "finish" with a razor - that saves time and effort.
-
BK - glad you noticed the problem with the ice cream before it made you sick.
You mean too sick ;)

Did you cancel your flight? Is it 12 or 24 hours that you can do so?
-
Rome is beautiful and we had an OMG delicious dinner.
-
One of the last things we bought for my father was a Braun electric shaver. He liked it very much. He had used Norelco shavers for a couple of decades, but thought the Braun was superior in every way.
-
We turned out the lights to go to sleep and there is a flashing red light in the ceiling, very odd.
-
I was looking forward to having the original fettuccine Alfredo while in Rome, however, we wouldn't mind eating dinner again where we ate tonight. I am also afraid the fettuccine won't be as good as when I ate it in Philadelphia at Alfredo's of Rome.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to see a play. But first, lunch, of course.
-

Back from a good closing performance.
Now, on to tech HELL week for a show concerning a fish.

Hello!
-
Feel better vibes for DH Richard!
-
Sounds like you're having a wonderful trip, DR Jane! I really need to visit Italy someday.
-
Two to go.
-
One more

Page 3!
-
Looking forward to tonight's episode of Feud. Sorry it's the final one.
-
i am over the Guys & Dolls hump. The two huge numbers in Act Two are back-to-back - Crapshooters Ballet and "Luck Be A Lady" 0 and they are now past items. I might actually finish this edit tomorrow.
-
In tyhe physical therapy=HMO brouhaha, more bad news arrived in yesterday's post. Tomorrow, I need to email my doctor with the latest round of information and take a trip to the therapists's office and show them the new hell.
-
I missed the last two episodes of Feud but I DVR'd them, and I'm recording tonight's so I can watch the three of them together sometime this week.
-
So, after the show I drove the music director down to Bridgeport to catch his train back to Manhattan, and we had a really nice chat. He'd conducted the last tour of Cathy Rigby's Peter Pan which I saw at Proctors in Schenectady four years ago, and in talking about that it somehow came out that one of the two little girls playing the little boy Michael Darling was none other than one Hadley Belle Miller.

Was the MD Craig Barna?
-
And now, I need to leave and get ready to usher for Olympia Symphony Orchestra: Summer Approaches (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/summer-approaches/).

MD is Bruce Barnes. I believe Craig Barna did the new arrangements and orchestrations.
-
Yes, that's correct, and there's something about CB having sued CR over royalties? Have to read up on that.
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait... Back from a lunch at Bob's Big Boy - I used to love Bob's Big Boy but I gotta tell you either the Big Boy Combo is not what it used to be, or I am baffled by what I found appealing.
-
The saw one of those "abridged" plays - this one The History of Comedy "Abridged." I find these shows very coy - some enjoyable bits but they just go on too long and are a little too winky-winky in their knowingness. This one goes on for two acts and just under two hours - remove the intermission and cut twenty-five minutes and it would be tighter and better. There are some funny bits and the cast was fine, but a little of this sort of thing goes a very long way with the likes of me.
-
And now I am home and all I can say is: Page three? Really?
-
Oh, and I put gas in the motor car. That was exciting.
-
Final episode of FEUD in 4 minutes here in the East.

I was thinking the same thing
-
A snagged the selfsame seat as I sat in for The New Yorkers
-
Where is everybody?

Dear reader Michael Shayne wrote a lovely review of Thrill Ride:
“Thrill Ride”, is Bruce Kimmel’s newest opus and his first foray into science fiction writing with its focus on time traveling. The story begins in 1957 and the hero, a Disney Imagineer, has invented a time traveling device. He travels to the present time, of 2017, hoping to gather enough information so he can create a plausible future as part of a new time traveling ride he is creating for Walt Disney and his Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California. Surprised by 2017’s technology (like cell phones, computers and Uber), world history and how Los Angeles and its environs has changed and evolved since 1957; he discovers he has a wealth of material and photographs to take back with him to 1957. Just like the novel “The Day of the Jackal” by Frederick Forsyth, it is evident by our present-day knowledge of past events, that the protagonist fails in his mission because we know Disneyland never had a time traveling ride. It is the skill, however, of the author, Bruce Kimmel, that keeps our interest in reading until end of the novel hoping that somehow he will succeed in his quest. There is a satisfying and favorable coda to his time traveling adventure in which Walt Disney utilizes the hero’s concepts for another Disney success story. Kimmel has created two endearing lead characters with their own unique “voices” and he has ably researched the famous landmarks of L.A., Hollywood, Burbank and other well-known areas of 1957 to vividly describe what they looked like back then and what now stands in their places in 2017. In my opinion there are three seminal time traveler novels: H.G. Wells’ “The Time Machine”, David Gerrold’s “The Man Who Folded Himself” and now Bruce Kimmel’s “Thrill Ride”. Highly recommended and enjoyable read for Disney lovers, science fiction lovers and anyone who wants to read a well-crafted nostalgic look back at what Los Angeles once was. My favorite Kimmel book since “Writer’s Block” and “Rewind”.

Had some popcorn and then some cherry chip ice cream.

-
I traveled down to George Country today
-
I met my friend, Diane, for lunch at Fall's Terrace in Tumwater.
-
Hi Tommy!!!
-
Diane had told me that the restaurant had two Sunday specials, a turkey dinner and beef stroganoff.
-
What did I have for lunch at Falls Terace in Tumwater?
-
How are you, Vixmom?
-
I think I would have chosen the stroganoff
-
How are you, Vixmom?
Tired but happy it was another fun weekend
-
Well, they don't have stroganoff, but they do have pot roast with gravy over noodles.
-
Okay, I like pot roast - usually.
-
This Convention was conveniently located only a 18 minute drive from our house
-
Well, they don't have stroganoff, but they do have pot roast with gravy over noodles.
Was there sour cream? Everything is better with sour cream
-
The good news was you got lots of pot roast. The bad news was the pot roast was dry as a bone.
-
No sour cream, but the noodles were good
-
I have never seen DOCTOR WHO.
-
This Convention was conveniently located only a 18 minute drive from our house
And DR George might be interested to know that there will be a Doctor Who convention held but the same group in the same location in November
-
So, the convention would be lost on me.
-

Oh dear
-
DR George might be interested to know that Sylvester McCoy will be there
-
So, the convention would be lost on me.
Yes you really have to be aquainted with the shows to really get into the spirit of things
-
What was the name of this convention?
-
This was quite a large hotel and a small con and there were several other events taking place over the weekend
-
The Bar Mitzvah kids were delighted to see the R2D2 robots whistling and beeping around the lobby
-
The wedding guests seem amused by the Jedis and wizards and witches and whatnot wandering around
-
Was this a STAR WARS convention?
-
The firemen in their dress uniforms for some sort of gala pretended not see any of us
-
What was the name of this convention?
L.I. Geek
-
Ok the alarm goes off in 4 1/2 hours so I must get to bed
-
What was the name of this convention?
L.I. Geek
Oh!
-
Good night, Deb! It is great being online with you.
-
Was this a STAR WARS convention?
It was multi genre... The Long Island Telsa group was there for science fact
-
There was a game room where various role playing games and board and card games were going on all weekend
-
There were panel discussions about sci-if themed monies, tv shows and books
-
We als went to several panels with John Peel a British author and screenplay writer
-
Good night
-
Did someone here record all the Feud episodes and, if so, can someone send it to me pronto?

I just looked and they're available through Comcast's OnDemand. I can record them, but it'll take a few days to get them all.

A few years ago, my niece and I (at her insistence) went to the Rose City ComiCon in Portland, Oregon. Someone there had a full-sized fully working R2D2 made out of LEGOs!
-
George, did you see my Fall's Terrace report?
-
The good news was you got lots of pot roast. The bad news was the pot roast was dry as a bone.
That's too bad.

It is still a lovely spot to dine, even on a rainy day like today.
