Well, you've read the notes, the notes had odds and also ends, and now it is time for you to post until the odd cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ABRAZO!
-
First post after BK!
-
That is so cool, BK. What are the odds?
-
Is Guy Haines in the show on Sunday?
-
DR John, thank you for the history lesson. I shall try to sample the desserts. I normally do not gain weight when traveling. I hope I eat less and walk extra calories off or this trip will be a big exception.
-
Those are quite the coincidences, BK.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Jane.
-
Good night, Tom.

HA! Patricia Highsmith is in on the conspiracy. That is a great find! I have yet to find a book, movie, or play with a character that has my last name spelled the way I spell it......
-
....and only one actor....Harry....a midget.....
-
TOD:
Hmmmmm....of course the first one that comes to my mind is
OJ SIMPSON followed closely by JonBenet, which we discussed here last week a bit.
There are the people who were hanged in the wake of Lincoln's assassination who really had nothing to do with the crime.....
-
And then of course there is the script of Carroll Baker's HARLOW and Winona Ryder's performances in anything....but those may be misdemeanors rather than miscarriages.....
-
About to buy a cream custard pastry aka pastel del nata
-
OMG John, a big thank you from both of us.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It's an early one for a Saturday, but I only have a few hours in which to relax.
It's the last day of the Fish Show, and I will be gone for the entire day.
-
Today I will be missing two (count 'em) Derby par-tays. I refer, of course, to the Kentucky variety. These seem to be all the rage now. I don't suppose it's a terribly new thing, but I don't recall anyone I know ever throwing Derby parties, and now they're everywhere you look.

Good Morning to All
-
Good morning, all!
-
By the time I got home last night, my mind was exhausted. We had a band rehearsal in the morning that got us through the score's trouble spots, a 90-minute break for lunch during which the muscle relaxer kicked in and I could barely stay awake.
-
Then, the sitzprobe, I was amazed at how polished the cast was after two weeks of rehearsal at the most. I'm curious to see how it goes over next week.
-
I got home, ordered some Chinese food, watched a bit of news, and went to bed.
-
Today, I must walk to the local post office and mail and package.
-
And call Randy. I knew that he would be sent home after the surgery, but I was amazed that he was home so soon. The surgery was at 10:30, and I called to check on him around 3:30. I was surprised that he was already home. When I had surgery on a herniated disc in my neck in 1999, I was kept in hospital overnight.
-
And then there's me
Unfortunately he's forgotten today despite have a large media exposure of the years.

It is amazing how quickly people are sent home. With my shoulder I was kept in the hospital for pain management. I was not permitted out of bed without assistance.
-
DR Michael, I like the Shayne covers.

Saturday morning greetings! Tomorrow is the second birthday party for our great-nephew J and Mary Linda has taken over our kitchen to bake his cake. Yay, no cooking for me today!

Good Morning
-
This morning, I'm off to play callbacks for the disfigured bell ringer show - somehow I got roped into that. The MD can't be there until later - I'm amazed at these young people who think that not being at their show's callbacks is an OK thing. I'll be trying to get out as soon as I can as I'll have to be back later to run the playback for that sister (act) show.

LOL!

I just spoke to my brother Randy; his surgery took all of 40 minutes, they stuck him back together with super glue, and as soon as he was awake, they had him walking. He says the anesthesia is now wearing off and he's in a good deal of pain. I told him to take it easy today.
-
Before I can rebook my flight to Ohio, I need to speak to Joshie and Rob, so I'm waiting for them to return my calls. I expect it will be another hour or so before the rehearsal break.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about seven-and-a-half hours of sleep.

Now that's a quotable line! :)

Another thing I brought home from DR Kerry's house was his stand mixer. I felt funny about asking about it, but I think he would be glad to see it being used by someone he cared about. I've used it three times already. I will think of him every time I use it.

I am glad you took it and he would appreciate that you are using it. He knows you would rather have him than your keepsakes :( ❤

Eating well as a vegetarian on a cruise can be difficult. Tonight we went to Hard Rock Cafe for their veggie burgers. The waitress gave us a few restaurants where she had good vegetarian meals 😊
-
I think dear reader Kerry also got an original piece of art from one of the Indiegogo campaigns - hope that goes to a good home.
-
Rehearsal in twenty minutes.
-
Do you remember what it was, BK? I can ask about it if no one has already taken it.
-
We stopped in our hotel for a break and are now headed back out for an evening walk in this beautiful city.
-
I was at Costco yesterday and they had all the employees wearing the most ridiculous Cinco de Mayo hats. OMG they looked so silly.

I do not eat seafood while Keith does. We both eat fish, mostly when we are out and can't get another source of protein.
The cruise had several specialty restaurants, all with great food. Our favorite was the Pacific Rim for their pot stickers, seaweed salad, and their tofu options, plus the wine was the best.
The dining room was not great and as with most cruises we could special order a tofu dish for the next day. Frying up tofu is extremely easy, don't know why it cannot be a nightly option for vegetarians. Yesterday we finally tried the tofu dog and veggie burgers on the ship, both were pretty bad.
-
OMG John, a big thank you from both of us.
You are more than welcome. Enjoy those beauties.

We saw a bakery that seems to specialize in them and decided that would be the place to try them. They seem to be sold everywhere.

Nice photos DR GINNY.
LOL DR VIXMOM - ain't it the truth!

Back from my morning playing gig, Very flattered when the director and choreographer both wished I was MD on this show. I'll most likely play in the orchestra, but I wasn't going to touch this show with a 10 foot pole. I made a deal with myself that I wasn't going to MD any more "new" shows. Too much work putting an orchestra together and programming keyboards, etc. I opted to MD Annie instead, which I love dearly.
-
Laura, it looks like he bought the original David Byrd art for Classical Hollywood 3 - if you search on Amazon you can see what it looks like.
-
Stumble-through was pretty terrific - some lyric flubs and tempo problems, all addressed in notes after, but everyone did just great. So much fun.
-
Then a couple of us went to Casa Vega for food - I just had one taco, just in case I don't like the food later. My voice is not what I'd like it to be, so I just need to shut up until sound check - I've already warned Barry and Cindy that I won't be talking this evening. If there was any way to get out of this, I would.
-
Hello, everyone.

Jane, this is the oil that my acupuncturist has used on my back. It contains mental and camphor, so it has a strong medicinal smell. It doesn't bother me, even though I'm sensitive to odors.

Amazon has several of the herbal patches, too. I thought I'd find the patches convenient, but I think I like the oils and creams more. It depends on the application, of course.

Is that Doug of Doug and John?
-
Second flight to Ohio purchased: June 6-14.
-
I watched a couple of episodes from the TV series Dracula with Jonathan Rhys-Meyer as the vampiric count. I can see why this series went nowhere. It stinks.
-
I had to give it up as well DR ELMORE - strayed so far away from the original story - and that was just the beginning of the problems.....
-
In about twenty minutes I shall be on my way to Barry and Cindy's house, then will follow them out to the event location and pray it doesn't go on until all hours, or at least that they don't hold the song until the very end - that would be very annoying.

Probably because I'm on the left coast, I've never been to a Kentucky Derby par-tay, or even a party.

I haven't seen the Pasteis de Belem yet.
It's the same thing. Belem is a neighborhood of Lisbon and this massive place, about a square city block, sells them under that name.

You have lived a deprived life. I used to throw a derby party every year. Some are legendary.

My mother got scammed today. They got all of the money that she made from her cookbook.

Went to a friend's house for a combination birthday party and game night. We played Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture edition.

My team won on a Bruce Springsteen question. What two magazines did he appear on the cover of in the same week in 1975?
-
Time and Newsweek.
-
Back when being on the cover off Time and Newsweek meant something.
-
Started watching In Dubious Battle, James Franco's film version of the Steinbeck novel. It's not very good so far.

That's deprived. Not depraved.
I'm depraved on account of I'm deprived.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the mermaid has left the building.
-
The previews were depressing. Apparently Meg Ryan has directed a remake of The Human Comedy, based on Saroyan's novel. But they changed the name to Ithaca and turned this modest, touching work into an epic replete with battle scenes, etc.

That's deprived. Not depraved.
I'm depraved on account of I'm deprived.
That's a Sondheim reference.

And that's how we play the game.

Now on to ... something or other.
Oh yeah. A couple of little spring concerts, and auditions for Best Worst etc.

That's deprived. Not depraved.
Well, then what's the point??

Page FOUR??? Really???
-
Well, the event was very long and VERY cold - I pretty much kept my trap shut as much as possible, but when people are asking you things you do kind of have to speak. It was way crowded and VERY noisy until the seating, and I have a splitting headache. The song moment finally happened at around nine and I have to say it was kind of perfect and I also have to say the song landed like gangbusters. The dad, who was the focus of the song, was weeping throughout. The mom and two daughters delivered and so did the group who ends it. It got a standing ovation, and the dad came right over to me and hugged me, as did the rest of the family. Then lots of sweet people came up to me - I got out of there ten minutes later, but I'm praying the cold air didn't kill me.

PAGE FIVE DANCE!!

Good evening!
-
Page 5? Really?
-
John, I am so sorry to read about your mother being scammed.
-
I have finally got to admit that this cold has control of me.
-
I don't care for this page five malarky.
-
Page six malarky, however, would be acceptable.
-
Thankfully I can sleep in tomorrow and hopefully I will.
-
Despite my best intentions, I spent most of today sleeping.
-
I just felt too crappy to stay awake.

Although I tried.

I didn't do much of anything, today. ::)

I can't blame it on the weather. It was nice today.

Jane, Tammy Orloff was there! Hadn't seen her in over fifty years. And Geri Lowe was, of course, there. She'd brought her huge Hamilton scrapbook with photos I've never seen before - including me in a pair of the most horrifying Bermuda shorts I've ever seen. Yikes.
