Well, you've read the notes, the notes had video enhancements, and now it is time for you to post until the enhanced cows come home.

And the word of the day is: LANUGINOUS!

Love the videos, BK!

I'll also add "Comedy Tonight" from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and "Someone's Moving In" from Brownstone.

Good morning to all
-
One of my favorites is "It's About Magic" from Merlin, but unfortunately it went downhill from there.
https://youtu.be/0fiS_MZ-26o (https://youtu.be/0fiS_MZ-26o)
Another another one is "Magic To Do" from Fosse's version of Pippin. The floating hands!

-
Good morning, all.
-
Excellent videos in the notes.

Crazy day today, running around this morning and playing rehearsals and a spring concert this evening. Oy. I'm going to "retire" from this kind of thing after these are over and done with, and only work on shows from now on. Them's what I love, and the other stuff has just gotten old.
-
TOD: In addition to the ones already mentioned -
"Circle of Life" from The Lion King
While not the actual opening, "Fugue for Tinhorns" sets up "Guys and Dolls" so well
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD:
I could probably cite many, but a few that come to mind, in addition to those mentioned include:
Dites-moi in South Pacific
Oh, What a Beautiful Morning in Oklahoma
The Carousel Waltz in Carousel
Man, We're Beat in The Nervous Set
The opening of My Favorite Year
Company
The haunting melody of All Things Bright and Beautiful in Follies
Pacific Overtures
Attend the Tale of Sweeney Todd
-
Good morning, all!

I had one doozy of a dream set in that Neverland where Middletown, Ohio, collides with New York City. My friends in the dream included Joshie, Ben Davis, Jack Viertel, Jim Roman, and others from Middletown and regional theatre jobs. It was something to do with a trip to the Miami River, a water parkm and someone being shot by a gun Joshie happened to have.
-
So, today I will attend the afternoon dress of The Golden Apple, then have dinner with Susanna Moross Tarjan, and then catch tonight's invited dress for The Golden Apple. I hope it all goes well. It will be a long day.
-
Where is everyone this morning?
-
Wow. Back for just a minute and wondering the same thing.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! It's raining - again - here in SW Ohio. At least it cleared out for a couple of days so that they could run the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati and most of Great Nephew J's birthday party could be outside. Oh, and Richard and I got to the grocery yesterday.
-
I am still coughing and that shopping trip yesterday wore me out. Have to feel better by the end of the week because I have some fun girlfriend things planned for Friday and Saturday.
-
I need to get some lunch before I head into midtown.
-
For those of you who have seen The Great Comet of 1812, why is Pierre referred to as a tired old man? I doubt he's more than 30 years old in 1812.
-
What I'm wondering about Elmo's dream is this:
It may have been Joshie's gun that shot someone, but WHO pulled the trigger? Hmmmm?
-
What I'm wondering about Elmo's dream is this:
It may have been Joshie's gun that shot someone, but WHO pulled the trigger? Hmmmm?
That was the mystery and we'll never know.

Saw my doctor yesterday afternoon.
She was thrilled with my labs results.
She was, however, concerned about my hospital visit and the reasons I went.
She asked me a lot of questions (which she had asked me a month ago) and I apparently scored higher than I did a month ago.
The end result: She has prescribed Prozac to help me abate/appease the anxiety I'm stressing over about my upcoming move across country.

I would call him mentally tired, and that can sometimes seem as if he's old. He's surrounded by idiots
-
And good morning

TOD -
Tradition - Fiddler on the Roof
Prologue - Ragtime
All the sections of the opening of Titanic
Circle of Life - The Lion King
Belle - Beauty and the Beast
Opening of Show Boat
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
I was climbing a mountain this morning.
Did you ford any streams?
Did you follow every rainbow until you found your dreams?
-
Love the videos I've seen. The Helms Man, one of my favorites from LA Now and Then, sounds great. As does Sunset Strip.
-
Has anyone heard or read anything about JRand?
He wrote on Facebook that his sister would post updates on his FB pages, but I haven't seen anything new since he posted yesterday morning that he would be away for a few days.
-
Back from a breakfast burrito and picking up a couple of package. I'll now do a little work on the Sherman Brothers show and at about 3:45 I'll get ready for the audition session.
-
Topic of the Day Addendum: "Me and My Town" from Anyone Can Whistle.

I was climbing a mountain this morning.
Nice.

I didn't get the feeling that there will be a lot of updates. I hope there will be some good news by the end of the evening.

DR Ron, vibes the stress reducing medication works, without side effects.

Overall we had a very nice day and didn't have too much rain. We did get caught in a bit of a down pour, howe, the sun came out and completely dried me.
-
In the mail today, I received the original Broadway cast recording to Groundhog Day (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Groundhog-Day-2017-Original-Broadway-Cast/35733), the original Austrian cast recording to Monty Python's Spamalot (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Spamalot-2016-Original-Austrian-Cast/34603), and the 25-CD collection of Leonard Bernstein: The Composer (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MPX0CXB)! I love the mini-albums that this has! That's always so cool! :D

This is a great idea to have someone else involved in the accounts.
I personally rarely answer the phone unless the caller id shows the number. So anybody who doesn't have their caller id showing can leave a message.

Despite the doctor telling me I might not notice benefits for a couple of weeks, I'm already feeling "lighter". Maybe it's mental, but I definitely am having some physiological reactions to the med.
-
Just finished the long and involved sequence I knew would be difficult. This guy is a screenwriter who has no idea how to write for the stage in terms of where action is taking place - he thinks you can just cut away from scenes, which is absurd. So, I have to make all that work for the stage - for this sequence that required writing about fifteen new lines of dialogue, but very much in the style he created for his characters (his dialogue is very good), just to make the action work and have clarity about everything. The way it was written things just came out of nowhere with no set up at all - the audience really is a partner in a show and everything needs to be clear to them in terms of the storytelling, and then I also have to be able to stage it. I think it came out pretty well, actually.
-
By the way: When I was in hospital, I was fitful during the night and one of the RNs asked me if I would like for her to ask the duty doctor for something to help me sleep. I said yes.
She brought me a tablet of melatonin. I had never heard of this. It was a really good sleep-inducer, too.
I bought some via amazon.com. A bottle of 10mg tablets.
I took the first one last night. I took it early and went to bed early. It was tough waking up this morning, too. I had been sleeping about six hours and then not being able to go back to sleep. I got about 9 hours of sleep last night.
I'm likely to halve one of those tablets this evening and see what happens.

An old nemesis, who retired two years ago, called me this afternoon to let me know she was just now recovering from a two-year depression (grieving over her brother's death at that time -- she had witnessed him being removed from life support and it truly traumatized her).
It was nice to hear her, although she got emotional over the phone. I tried to lighten her mood and transferred her to another co-worker who was one of her favorites.
-
Page two? Really?
-
Well, it's been a slow day.
And no JRand to move things along.
-
I can try to pick up some of the slack.
-
If TCB and vixmom were around all day long we'd be further along, I expect.
-
Jane will be back in greater force another week or so, too.
-
I envy her and Keith's fantastic vacation. She's posted some wonderful photos.
-
I have a friend who is spending a month in Greece and he and his wife are really getting around. They're posting great pix, too....on Facebook.

Hello, Danise!

Hi all and Good Evening. I've missed my HHW family and I hope you know that even if I didn't post, I thought about you all and I still care about you.
This was "Employee appreciation week" (and you have no idea what a joke that has turned out to be). Anyway we had a choice of 3 places in the county to go visit--a park, a library or the Medical Examiner. I know the ME wouldn't be a first choice for most but I thought it would be a once in a "living" chance to see what they do. I can go to a library or a park but this was chance to see something not many people do behind the "curtain".
I honestly didn't know how I would react--I hoped I would be able to make the entire tour because we were warned about what we would see (and smell).
Frankly, I thought it was very interesting. Not sure I would do it for a living but I wasn't grossed out either. I did say a quick prayer for those we saw. One hung himself, one was an older lady (look who's talking) found dead in her house who they suspect died of drug overdose and the 3rd was a bit harder because it was a motorcycle accident.

Oh, my! A visit a medical examiner is certainly an unusual choice to show appreciation to your employees!

For the most part this is true. Although occasionally someone will have a private number. But no message, no reaching me.

Back from auditions - only one candidate, which means if one of the two from tomorrow isn't good, I have to either see more folks or just take a chance on this guy - he's a good actor - not as naturally charming and wily as I'd like.
-
Page three? Really?
-
I've been busy at work, so that's my excuse. ::)

;)
-
But now, I must leave and go home.
-
So, I'll be back a little later.

Until then!

Gratuitous Post #75!

The afternoon dress for The Golden Apple was about what I expected for less than two weeks of rehearsal. Tonight was a 100% improvement. The audience seemed into it, there was more humor, and by Friday night, it's going to be really good. There's one cast member who is dreadful, really dreadful, and I have a few quibbles about things but I will discuss them with Rob after the show closes.
Jeroe Moross' daughter Susanna was very happy with tonight's dress. I hope it does food things for the show,
-
Great to see you, Danise. And I'm finding your work stories fascinating.
-
Thanks for the updates on Golden Apple, Elmore. Glad to see the show getting done occasionally.
-
I've started a new mystery series called Shetland, which came highly recommended. I'm enjoying the first episode and it's really atmospheric.
-
Has anyone ever spent an hour or two in a deprivation tank?
-
On a certain level, I think I could easily go mad after an hour or so like that.
-
There are now a couple of places offering this as stress relief.
-
TOD 2:
Wilkommen from "Cabaret"
"Workout" from "Golden Boy"
"Prologue" from "Little Shop of Horrors"
"The Truth" from "Little Me"
"The Happy Time"
"All That Jazz" from "Chicago"
-
A few more:
Your Wedding Day from The Wedding Singer
The opening of On the Town with both I Feel Like I'm Not Out of Bed Yet and New York, New York
Jet's Song from West Side Story
The Tour Must Go On from Make a Wish

Donde esta la gente hoy?

Hello, 1 guest!
-
What is your favorite mystery series?
-
Talked to Mom today. She's settled down a little more. The scammers have called her three or four more times asking for more money.
-
She played them along before screaming at them. They hung up.
-
Four!
-
Hello, 2 guests!

Our numbers are growing!
-
Finished Anne Bronte's Agnes Grey today. Not a great work, but very much of the Bronte mold, which made it interesting.
-
I'm nearing the halfway mark in the latest volume of Proust, The Fugitive, Vol. 6.
-
It's getting rather repetitive.
-
But I have less than 1,000 pages to go. I will finish it.
-
Some time.
-
I'm feeling really tired.
-
Even the though the body count on Shetland is going up.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100.
-
Good night, all!
-
Page four? Really?

Listening to you-know-who and trying to figure out how to make sense of the last fifteen pages of act one - ain't easy. Richard and I will talk tomorrow - some characters are introduced and have a song out of nowhere and I don't know what they're doing there - I have to somehow tie them in to our hero, because they do end up working together.
-
Had some chunky soup for my snack, along with some low-cal low-fat ice cream - all good.
-
I was climbing a mountain this morning.
You should climb every mountain
-
And ford every stream while you're at it
-
Wow. Back for just a minute and wondering the same thing.
I was on a bus heading to Pennsylvania
-
I was climbing a mountain this morning.
Did you ford any streams?
Did you follow every rainbow until you found your dreams?
Dang. I should have read ALL the posts before I started replying

I am so pleased to see Danise three days in a row. I hope the trend continues!!

We had a beautiful day for the trip

Great. Knowing relief is on the way, and the fact the doctor is listening to you, are both stress reducers.
-
The shows are not particularly well written, the songs are forgettable but the stagecraft is magnificent and it is always a fun day out
-
Plus lunch at Cracker Barrel
-
Ron I am so glad your numbers are better and hope this new med will help with the other issues
-
Vibes for our JRand
-
Jane will be back in greater force another week or so, too.
I might take awhile to adjust to jet lag. I didn't do well with melatonin, maybe I should try it again. I slept until 5:30 this morning which is much better than 2:30 yesterday.

I almost missed this. Thank you. I will pass along great the compliment to Keith. He doesn't like my photos which is why I am In more of them than he is.

I want Cracker Barrel!

Hello, 1 Guest!
-
What is your favorite Off-Off-Broadway musical?
-
I missed out going to a Cracker Barrel when I was in Boise.
-
Our cast went out to breakfast there, but I passed.
-
Actually, I think I overslept.
-
That motel had great mattresses.
-
Has anyone ever spent an hour or two in a deprivation tank?
Yes, every time I went to a gay bar.
-
Today was errand day.
-
Tomorrow is chore day.
-
Oh, and tomorrow is old actors' lunch.
-
I almost forgot. Probably because I keep thinking today is Saturday.
-
Elmore, congratulations on the successful preview.

Hi, Tom.
-
After work tonight, I went to Fred Meyer and got some raw and unfiltered apple (didn't see red) cider vinegar and some chromium/cinnamon capsules.
-
It'll be an easy enough test.
-
A friend of mine used to be a mortician (or whatever specific title he had) and said that it was a calling. When he went to school, not very many people at all who started with him finished the whole course.
I have a friend, who I have known all of my school life, who said that he knew from the time he was a little boy that he wanted to be a mortician.
-
Hello, George.
-
After work tonight, I went to Fred Meyer and got some raw and unfiltered apple (didn't see red) cider vinegar and some chromium/cinnamon capsules.
I found Ron's original post about cider vinegar HERE (http://www.haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?topic=5010.msg1127757#msg1127757):
spoke with my Cousin Debra this past Thursday evening.
Please don't alert the media. This revelation is only for your eyes.
Debra is an RN in charge of a medical group in South Carolina. We were talking "family health issues" and she told me about something that has done wonders for her husband who has heart issues and diabetes 2.
She said that some recent lab results were so startlingly "normal" that she and his doctors thought a mix-up had happened. So they did the labs again and the results were the same. His triglycerides were well within normal parameters, his A1C was low and normal and his blood sugars were normal.
To what did she attribute this?
He had begun craving dill pickles and pickle juice. That had turned the tide for him, except for the hypertension all the salt induced. How did he handle that?
He began taking a tbsp. of Bragg's Vinegar every day. The results have remained steady. She said this vinegar (Bragg's organic raw apple cideer) is the new wonder tonic for diabetics.
Since it's not going to hurt me any, I'm going to start doing this today.
-
When he retired recently, his title was Chief Embalmer for the State of Washington.
