Joshie has taken "Waitin' for My Dearie" and "They Call The Wind Maria" with him on his gamily trip, and Rob tells me there will be more in the next couple of days.

I know I slept and dreamed, but I kept waking up wondering what time it was (3:35 a.m.; 3:59 a.m., 4:13 a.m., 4:50 a.m.; 4:49 a.m., etc.) Got up at 5:45 a.m.

Not a superlative night of sleep, but at least I got some sleep.

What is it with "THIS" particular year? I swear more people are getting head colds that they continue to think of as allergies, but the symptoms are so "cold"-like...and the head colds generally travel into the chest and they're congested for weeks at a time, coughing and hacking.

Or, is that really just a bad "cold" season?

Around here it never got cold enough for long enough to kill off a lot of nasty stuff. And it might be my imagination, but this stuff hits me harder when I'm stressed about something else. Years ago, during DR Elmore's production of The Beggar's Opera, for which I was his director's assistant, I was under severe job stress and in about the shape I'm in now. This time, it's Mom I'm stressed about.

She's funny, sassy, really smart. She moved into the building about a year after I did, after the tenant there hanged himself. When I was dealing with the bedbugs in 2008 and sleeping on the floor on an air mattress, I could hear her panicky weeping through the floor around 2-3am. She was going through cancer treatment then and came out with flying colors.

Anyway, I hadn't seen her in ages, and she walked back to our building with me. We laughed all the way as we bitched about the inconsiderate new tenants in the building.

No much to say about it---except we almost slammed into the car that was in front of us seeing as the traffic was NOT moving at all and our bus driver was doing his bat out of hell impression.

Ever see a bus run off the road? It's worse when you are ON said bus.

Darn...I hadn't thought about that. It does have my name in the settings, but not my phone number. Since I only have a cell phone, I'm not in the (paper) phone book. My dad and I do have the same first name, so if anyone looks and sees my name, my dad is the only George. He knows that mine is missing and can call me if anyone calls him.

No. Not yet. I'll wait another week or so, and then probably get another used one on eBay. I'm still debating about getting a new (and much more expensive) Kindle versus a used Kindle. The only stuff that I can't replace are the titles that were on this one when I got it from the seller on eBay. The three "50 Shades" books (which I'd probably never read) are the only ones that I can remember. There wasn't much else, so it wasn't much of a financial loss, at all.

This time, it's Mom I'm stressed about.

Allergies do hit you harder when you're stressed. Or experiencing a lot of pollution. Or any number of other things. It's a matter of "total load." Each is an assault on the immune system.

Had a wonderfully productive rehearsal for the musical - have blocked thirty pages in two days (out of eighty) - tomorrow we'll probably do another fifteen or twenty. While the cast learned music for three hours, Kay and I went for a bite and I completely revised two scenes that would not work as written. Who knows what the authors will think but I'm hoping they like it. We have strong reasons for every change we've made, and the producer is very much on our side. I'm hoping they understand that we're just trying to clarify and have it be smooth - their basic story points and most of their dialogue remains, with just a few new lines here and there to smooth transitions. When actors come and say they can't act a line or a beat there's usually a reason they're having trouble and if you can't help them understand because the beat or moment is wrong, then it has to change.

Not all of them, but I will tomorrow. And I'm still waiting to hear from the Washington Center. The guy who answered said that he'd call today (which he didn't) whether he found it or not. I'll definitely call him back.
