Well, you've read the notes, the notes had pet sounds, and now it is time for you to post until the pet cows come home.

We did?  We did Beach Boys songs?  This is what happens.  So instead do great songs of summer.

Oh....my.....so many choices for the TOD.

This is one of the first ones that came to my mind....by Robin (Jackie) Ward who also sang for Natalie Wood in DAISY CLOVER and Linda Evans in BEACH BLANKET BINGO......she also recorded many of the Partridge Family songs with David Cassidy and Shirley Jones.

That's a nice report on the Brian Wilson concert.  I'd like to see him, but I don't know if I could take all the stuff (noise, lights, audience) that goes with it.  I think BK's description will do just fine.  :)

Well, peoples...

I have my own word of the day, and that word is:  AUDITIONS.

May this be the last time you hear that word cross my gums - for the next few months at least.  I think I have just about what it takes to get through these today, and probably not an ounce more.

This is at the theater at the Abbey, for Fiddler on the Roof.  We had the ones in NYC several weeks ago.  These are the Connecticut ones.

I have two hours in which to relax before getting ready to go up there.  Then I'll be out of there at four, and I must do a bit of grocery shopping and relax again before going to see the closing night performance of Animal Farm, which has gotten raves, at another the-a-tuh.

Such is a holiday weekend :-(

I did have yesterday off from work, which was nice.  Today I have a rehearsal for a concert version of Chess that I'm playing for, and tonight back to running playback for Sister Act which has tonight and tomorrow afternoon, and then we are finished.  Tomorrow, work in the morning, Sister Act in the afternoon and then our first Chess performance.

Monday, I think I have nothing.  The weather is lousy this weekend, so I have no motivation to head to the coast or anything.

Back from The Last Auditions (the title of my next novel).

Now I get to dilly and dally a little before going to the play tonight.

I'm home the rest of the weekend, but the weather is going to be fairly crappy.

I very much applaud having such par-tays on the middle day of the weekend instead of the Monday holiday itself.  I never could stand ending a Monday holiday either in par-tay mode or dead tired mode, with the specter of the next day's work routine hanging all over everything.

(Note to DR Elmore:  This is why I was looking for old Italian folk music a while back.  I submitted samples of Ancient Airs & Dances, which they liked but they thought it was a little too "classical" for this.)

BTW, she isn't the Mother Abbess, just plain old Mother Dolores.  She really is wonderful to talk to, and it'll be great to be working with her.

Saturday afternoon greetings!  I played along with our doctor's May 3 and May 16 diagnoses of allergies for me because people around me weren't getting sick.  However, Thursday evening Richard began feeling the way I did when this all started.  So, this morning we went together to see the nurse practitioner in our doctor's office and she put both of us on antibiotics.  There are lots more fun ways to spend a holiday weekend together...

Hi all!  I hope you are having a good weekend.  Can't say I'm doing anything really exciting.

I don't know how to say it but I did join one of those dating sites.  I just thought I'd give it a try.  It's a bit overwhelming.  Everyone wants to talk with you and I don't feel good about giving out my phone number.  Anyway, we'll see what comes of this.  I'm tired of being alone so much of the time.

Have a good holiday weekend, DR Danise. Have fun on your dating site, but be cautious.  Don't get catfished, and if you meet someone you're interested in, make sure a friend knows all the particulars  about the peron;s online info and where you are meeting.

Thanks DR Jane.  I only joined this morning so I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.

If nothing comes of it you were brave to dare it and I am proud of you.

I very nearly took a cell phone out of the person's hands next to me. Also, he opened a bag of chips during a quiet scene.

I have enjoyed this beautiful day by walking close twelve and a half miles, not all at once.  During our longest walk I needed to stop at our little coffee shop to cool down with a scoop or orange sherbet.

Relaxing (thank goodness), and listening to music - catching up on a lot of music that's been sitting here like so much fish.  Right now listening to Alexander Scriabin's music - first symphony currently playing - very interesting and lovely music.  All I knew of Scriabin was The Poem of Ecstasy, which I like, but he was very forward thinking, like Mahler and Rachmaninov.  Looking forward to the other three symphonies (The Poem of Ecstasy is, in fact, his fourth symphony), along with his piano concerto and Reverie.  I got this at Amoeba last night - three CD box set conducted by Dmitri Kitaenko - lovely sound - don't know the music well enough to know if these are "great" performances, but I'm certainly enjoying them.  The whole box was eight bucks.

Danise, you might also consider getting one of those inexpensive pay-as-you-go burner phones, so that you don't have to give out your real phone number...and if there ever any troubles (hopefully not!), you can just get rid if that particular number.

What is your diagnoses?  Is it really something that antibiotics will help?
Vibes they work!!

~~~Ditto!!~~~
In about an hour, I'm going to go downtown and meet my friend Margo for a late dinner.  She's ushering for a show that gets out about 10:45 or so.  After dinner, I'll drive her home because she walked from her home to the theater.  She only lives a couple of miles from the theater but up a huge hill, so I wouldn't let her walk back that late at night.
My dance instructor, Joy, was too hyped up this morning when we had our lesson with our instructor Jack. She was actually out of control and Jack had to end our lesson. It was a rather odd scene. I don't know what wound her up.
I am really enjoying the output of Mr. Scriabin - like on one else's music and I can only imagine how "new" this must have seemed back then, but certainly people would come to ape it, Debussy for one.  Beautiful tunes, lush orchestrations, just beautiful.
