Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of final days in the rehearsal room, and now it is time for you to post until the final cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MASSTIGE!
-
First post after BK!
-
Second post after BK!
-
And now, to bed.
-
Good night, George.
-
I had a very nice lunch with my cousin.
-
And she forced me to have a piece of cheesecake.
-
I had the Godiva chocolate cheesecake.
-
It was mighty tasty.
-
My cousin was on a "no carb" diet, so no cheesecake for her.
-
Hello, 1 Guest!
-
What is your favorite stripper name?
-
Good morning to all
-
Helen Bed.
-
Oh maybe that's a drag name.....from A Tuna Christmas.
-
Thanks to MR BK for the vibes yesterday....the vibes from this here site are certainly working....from my lab work yesterday, my hemoglobin count is up to 9.4 from 8.1.....(11 is the normal range, but a 6.3 put me in the emergency room and started this whole magilla.)
-
Such wonderful notes! Love reading about the shows and putting them together - since that is not a part of my life right now....but hopefully soon!
-
Good morning...I woke up with lousy sore throat ...I have a busy weekend no time to be sick
-
The notes also reminded me of something for the TOD yesterday:
I loved the use of the Sabre Dance in ONE, TWO, THREE
-
Continued vibes for our Jack

I've been listening to recordings of the radio program Yours Truly Johnny Dollar which ran about 12 years with about 5 different actors. He was an insurance investigator. Each story was recounted in flashback, as Johnny listed each line item from his expense account. The episodes generally finished with Johnny tallying up his account and traveling back to Hartford, Connecticut, where he was based
My favorite was Bob Bailey. They had two different formats a weekly self contained episode running 30 minutes and the serial format of 5 x 15 minutes episodes which I prefered. One story ran 9 episode.
After listening to Bob Bailey era I wondered how didn't end up with Parkinson's syndrome with all the times he was hit on the head and knocked out. But he always got his man or woman.
-
Next up I thought I give a listen to The Saint with Vincent Price and Let George Do It with Bob Bailey
-
Good morning, all.
-
This is Friday?
I'll take your'all's word for it, as the days of this week have been all mixed up here.
-
TOD:
Well, I had my little Candide-fest yesterday.
And I'll be listening to I Do! I Do! today, as I "digitize" the vinyl-only (?) Original London Cast recording for someone. (I don't know if it's been on CD; I didn't find evidence of one, and at this point it's just as easy to roll my own.)
For watching, I've been dipping into my complete Twin Peaks 1990-91 seasons, which is quite the trip.
-
Congrats to DR Jrand66 on those numbers. Keep up the excellent work, sir!
-
Wonderful to hear the numbers are trending well, Jrand.
-
What is your favorite stripper name?
Maybe it's Poppy Harlow, but that's the name of an actual CNN anchor.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I did sleep late, and that was very much needed. I need to tidy the apartment this morning before I head off to rehearsal.
-
!! Page 2 Dance !!
-
At 10:00 I must call author Howard Pollack, who's writing a new biography of John Latouche. He has some Golden Apple questions.
-
I seem to be up and have been up since five-ish. Which means I've slept about three hours. Just one of those things where there's so much in my head right now that I just keep thinking about things and can't get back to sleep. In this instance I've been trying to figure out how to get one of my actors in the musical out of his own way and get him out of his head - he's just but so many barriers up in one scene that it just takes all our show energy and puts it right into the toilet. It's tricky when actors overthink or misunderstand or blame the writing - the thing is, when actors come to me, especially in this show, and say a line isn't working or is not real to them, if I agree I'll just change it up or they'll suggest something that's better and we go with that. But in this particular scene, while the writing isn't going to win any awards, the points are all clear to me - but not to the actor who has so confused himself that he just stands and fumfers every line and it just doesn't work because he's in the driver's seat for that scene, he's the motor of the scene. The gal in it has all the right energy but she's playing off a void right now - she's in the passenger seat in the scene. So, when I woke up I just was trying to figure out what to say to the actor that might finally break through to him and get him to do what we need him to do - he's getting better in every other scene, but this one is his achilles heel. And that has to change. Today. And I think I've come up with a way he'll at least understand and if he actually listens and understands this approach, everything we'll work. If he doesn't, the scene is doomed or he'll pull it out of his rear end during the performance. I would prefer that the latter is not the way we get to this. So, we'll see if this works - I've given him plenty of cheerleading and trying to make him understand, but it's like he goes home and doesn't remember any of it and then fights all the dialogue because the sense we made out of it has been forgotten or ignored. We shall see, but I will get this out of him one way or the other :)
-
Good morning, all.
-
Great story, DR Laura, on the trip to the art museum. You cited the religious paintings. Did they have one of Jael drinking the tent spike through Sisera's head? I've been mulling over that one recently. Long one of my favorites from Judges.
-
Two unsolicited phone calls already this morning. Damn!
-
DR Druxy, how is Sandy doing?
-
Elmore, I hope the concerts go well.
-
Getting ready for the competition. We start in a hour.

Progress :)
GOOD VIBES YOU CONTINUE TO IMPROVE!
-
Elmore, I hope the concerts go well.
I think they will. I've got so much stuff to do before I leave next week for Ohio that I will probably not go back after tomorrow night's opening. I've got a deal of Guys & Dolls to finish before I go, and I have to deal with several apartment issues as well.
-
The London I Do! is in the can. (Probably right next to Prince Albert.) Now to trim the beginnings and ends of the tracks.
-
Well, three hours of sleep - never fell back asleep. And then I completely forgot that she of the Evil Eye was coming today rather than tomorrow. At least I can sleep till nine-thirty tomorrow.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the rehearsal room.
-
I really do believe our little stalker is on Broadway World pretending she's not her. Same tone, same way of carrying on a thread then acting like she's the victim and that she hasn't been provoking. What a twit.
-

No, I don't recall that one. The one we liked the most was the martyrdom of St. Lawrence.

Great hemoglobin news, Jrand!
~~~Continued Recovery Vibes!!~~~
Friday afternoon greetings! We have returned from an all-day trip to Lima, where Fr. Richard performed a nice funeral for the father of one of the parishioners. We'd never met him, but Judy thought her father, as a cradle Episcopalian, would appreciate the fact that Richard uses the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. There was an hour-long service at the funeral home, a lovely buffet lunch at the nearby country club, and a very brief committal service at the cemetery.
Hello, everyone.
-
Page 2?? Oh, dear.
-
Great news from Jrand. Thanks for posting this update. We want to know how you're doing.
MEGA VIBES for CONTINUED PROGRESS!!
And I am home. The show is frozen. I can work on Guys & Dolls tomorrow and go to the opening tomorrow night kowing all is well. The cast is really fine: Bryce Pinkham, who was wonderful in A Gentleman's Guide To Murder, sings so beautifully, and Lauren Worsham, who was one of his romantic interests in A Gentleman's Guide, matches him. Ryan Silverman, who was Ulysses in The Golden Apple, sings the hell out of "They Call the Wind Maria." Chuck Cooper, whom I've loved since he was the Senator Rawkins-turned-black in the 2009 revival of Finian's Rainbow, can do anything, and his beautiful daughter Lily rounds out the group.
I think the musicians have finally sorted out their roles with the singer's and the rhythms, and I'm very happy. I think Joshie and I did some good work, nothing to shake the rafters but nothing embarrassing, either. I was amazed at how wonderful Rob Berman's narration is. He's a dear friend and a gentle soul, but I was surprised at the emotion and romance in what he has to say. I am very impressed.
-
I went to acupuncture, stopped for some lunch, then came home. I had some work to do here, but am now done for the day.
Good news from DR elmore :)
-
Larry, it sounds wonderful. I'm glad you can go to Ohio feeling so good about this production.
-
Hi Jane. Planning your next trip yet? :)
-
TOD:
dunno.
-
LOL Jeanne. We are going to a wedding in August. If we drive it will mean a stop at least a night each way plus two nights in San Luis Obispo.
-
Good day all!!!
TOD;
A CD of some wonderful songs my son mixed for me for Mother's Day!!!
-
Watching MASH!!!
-
Well, I'm off. First, to the parents' house for a quick dinner, then to South Puget Sound Community College to usher. Last night, they sent out an emergency request for volunteers because only one, count 'em. ONE person had signed up to usher. I was number 2. I checked about an hour ago and there are now seven ushers. They wanted eight, so that's very good.
Be back later!
-
Watching Andy Griffith!!!
-
Do any DRS know of any. Mystery movies they Could recommend???
-
I purchased the book THE LADY IN THE WATER!! Have any DRS read this???
-
Page three? Really?
-
Back from a very good run-through with costumes. I've asked for several changes, but they looked pretty great. We thought it would be stop and go but no one missed an entrance, and some of the changes are really quick. Our writer took the day off - I advised him to as we didn't know how stop-and-start it would be.
-
I watched MARTY the other day for the umpteenth time. I love this movie!!! Any other fans???
-
Some really good stuff is happening and the actor who's been fumfering was much better and he'll continue to be so, hopefully. I am most proud of the fact that the show now has some laughs. It was, when I first got it, endlessly dark and humorless. Every chance I got I put in humor and it's really paying off.
-
Then I picked up some packages, then went to Hugo's for some Caesar salad and pasta papa.
-
And now I am home and listening to music. I'm sure I'll try to perhaps watch something in a little while - for now, I have a few CDs to upload.
Great movie that I haven't seen in a long time.
-
Okay, this is officially ridiculous. Page THREE? There will be a bitch-slapping to be reckoned with, my dear readers.
-
Good evening!
-
Are you serious?
-
Page 3 at 11:00 p.m.?
-
Good grief.
-
One more post.
-
Page Four!!
-
Where is everyone?
-
It is a Friday.
-
Not even a weekend.
-
Today I met my friend Sharry for lunch.
-
We went to The Lobster Shop.
-
It is a very nice restaurant down on the Tacoma waterfront.
-
I went nuts.
-
I ordered the three-piece halibut fish fry.
-
I hadn't had halibut in several years so I went for it.
-
$25.00 for three pieces of fish and fries.
-
I am glad I went for the three pieces of fish, because the pieces were pretty small.
-
It was good.
-
But it wasn't great.
-
I should have gone for something cheaper, but oh well.
-
I'm home.
-
Yesterday's lunch at the Cheesecake Factory was actually a better meal.
-
Maybe it was because my cousin picked up the check.
-
The ushering was for an evening of three different jazz bands.
-
If I had known, I wouldn't have ordered the cheesecake.
-
Maybe it was because my cousin picked up the check.
That always makes for a better meal.
;)
-
I had expected to pick up the check.
-
But my cousin is a little quicker than the old guy in the scooter.
-
My cousin and her male friend built a beautiful house up in Carnation, Washington.
-
The South Puget Sound Community College Jazz Band welcomes the Timberline High and Aspire Middle School Jazz Bands. The concert will feature sets by the South Puget Sound Community College Jazz Band, the Timberline High School Jazz Band, and the Aspire Middle School Jazz Band.
-
It is high up on a hill overlooking the Cascade Mountains.
-
The house is fantastic.
-
Now, after thirteen years together, they are breaking up.
-
Now, after thirteen years together, they are breaking up.
Oh, no.
-
So, now the gorgeous house is up for sale.
-
Page 5
-
After ushering, I took myself out to dinner. I had a bacon and ranch grilled chicken salad at McDonalds...just because. :)
-
I have no idea how much the house is worth, but I would guess a half million dollars.
-
The house even has it's own pub.
-
When I got home, I watched an epusode of "The Expanse."
-
And with prices what they are in the Seattle area, I think my guess is probably pretty close.
-
The house even has it's own pub.
Wow!
-
But the house is really out in the country.
-
As my sister likes to say, you don't go to visit without packing a lunch to have during the trip.
-
They had an open house last weekend and another one this weekend.
-
I hope they can find a buyer.
-
I hope they can find a buyer.
My sister wants to sell her house this year. Hopefully, it'll sell this time.
-
I'm now watching Twin Peaks.
-
I always mention the pub whe I talk about the house, but the whole place is incredible.
-
I have effing idea what's going on.
-
Me too. She is considering moving to Lacey.
Me too. She is considering moving to Lacey.
Does she have a place in Lacey already in mind?
-
There is a big housing development there that she is interested in visiting.
-
I think it is a 55 and older development.
I thought I was reading the new notes - but I wasn't.
There is a Trilogy development up near her home in Carnation which she really likes, except for the prices
