T.O.D.

My best calculation is that from 1970, when I left college, I have lived at twenty-six (including a few stops at mom's house between moves) addresses.

To continue from yesterday about Hairspray and Apple Tree Productions now sharing Olympia Film Society's Capitol Theater:

So this is what brings it all full circle for me...the first four shows that I had ever performed in were at the Capitol Theater.  The very first show that first season was Man of La Mancha, and the girl who played Antonia (she was 16 or so at the time), grew up to form Apple Tree Productions (http://www.appletreeprod.com/about.html) and is the director of Hairspray that I'm in now!

:D

I appreciate a director who doesn't ignore the last quarter of a play.  That is why I usually avoid opening weekends of shows.  I want to wait until the last part of the show catches up with the first three quarters.

I hope the house deal works out for BK.  It certainly sounds good.  Studio City is so damned lovely, both in and of itself and location-wise, but that writing on the wall is horrendous.  I'm really sorry to see that sh stuff happen.  Or hear it happening.

Topic of the Day (not including off-campus college living...otherwise, add 2 for those).  After I graduated from college, I moved back in with my parents, then when I finally moved out for the last time, I had:

1. Apartment with a roommate, then
2. Apartment by myself, then
3. A room with my sister and niece in their home (that only had one bathroom :P), then
4. Apartment by myself, then
5. Back into the house that I lived in with my sister and niece after my sister bought a new house and moved there (so would this count as a "different abode"? I did move out, live somewhere else, then move back in), then finally
6. My condo

So, depending on how you count, it could be a total five or six or seven or eight places. ;)

Thursday afternoon greetings!  Had a nice coffee visit with my friend Becky, who just returned from a month in Michigan.  Did some errands on the way home, including shopping for refreshments for the book group that's meeting here tonight.  The book we're discussing is The Storied Life of A. J. Fiery and my treats are inspired by those served by the police officer to his book group.

TOD - if you figure my adulthood started when I moved to Middletown right out of grad school, I've lived in 5 places.  My first apartment was half below ground on the front of the building.  When my neighbor moved I took his apartment on the back for the walk-out patio.  From there I moved to a second floor apartment very near the campus where I worked.  When we married I moved into the house Richard had bought several years earlier.  We bought this house in 1988 and I called it "my forever house."

Back from vacuuming the play - lots of little adjustments to make it smoother - I'm quite liking the feel and look of the blocking now.  Stopped at Gelson's for some snacks.

And we had a brief but fun second rehearsal today for Kritzerland.  Dealing with a very insecure singer who hasn't sung in five years.

As I mentioned, the alarm was set for eleven this morning and didn't go off.  It finally did go off - at five.  Methinks the old iPad is on its last iLegs.

George, what role are you playing in Hairspray?

At least Mr. Pinky and Spritzer, who is the owner of Ultra Clutch Hair Products, the sponsor of The Corny Collins Show...and I think one other character.

What are the dates?

We're only playing six performances over one weekend:  July 13-16.

The AC repair man arrived tomorrow between 10 and 2. I hope I don't have to replace the unit.
I'm told that could be more than $10k.

They are having a Maritime Festival in Tacoma this weekend.

Saturday will be Olympia's Pride March.  I'll be helping my sister set up and hand out information at the Olympia PFLAG booth.

Just had to share. ;D
