New five-star Amazon review:
"Mom will be so proud to know her Einstein did something important... Let that be enough." Wow. I am not typically a person who is intrigued by fantasy or time-travel to be exact, and this THRILL RIDE of a novel certainly proved effective. If only we all could have a conversation with our younger self, if only we could go back for three minutes even, or forward for one day-- what revelations, gratitude and hope could be realized! I have to say the very matter-of-fact, inquisitive voice of "Einstein" (as referred to by his late mother) juxtaposed with the gruff yet nurturing voice of Irene, the caretaker to his older self, makes for a very pleasant blend of dialogue meets detail, meets action meets memories and... progression. I was captivated to know such vividly placed details of a Los Angeles that once 'was'. I felt I myself going back in time as the narrator traveled further (forward) into a modern mesh of technological advancements that may pique one's curiosity as to why the human race is falling short in empathy and genuine connecting. Themes such as: 'taking a stand to make a difference' , 'slowing down', and... 'not necessarily being able to change history, but certainly being able to control one's outlook and dynamic part in each day' are woven throughout the reading. Just the right amount of down-to-earth humor and heartfelt humanity drives the adventure that is THRILL RIDE. So, do yourself a favor, and enjoy a quick and pensive summer read, and find hope again in a "great, big BEAUTIFUL tomorrow."
Has anyone heard from Eli Wallach lately?

Several Robert Graves' novels, a couple of Stephen King's , but my prize possession is a drawing by George Gershwin.
I have a craving for ginger ice cream but I'd settle for peppermint ice cream.

I heard he was feeling poorly
Fortunately Craig's List turned up a handyman who was able to come today and put things right
Jane, is there a Kohl's near you? Like George, I bought my bed pillow there. It's high-quality foam, with cervical support, and wasn't even expensive. They have lots online, but it'd be better if you could see it, feel it, give it a 5-second test. they're good about returns, also. Tuesdays used to be senior discount day. don't know if it still is.
And NOW I'm going to bed!
Have a good (and nice and cool) day, all!

A Craving for Ginger - isn't that the name of something?
I read that as one hundred ninety two.
Where are you sleeping tonight?
For dinner this evening, Richard and I went to Giordano's for deep-dish pizza. Anybody want some leftovers?
Michael Small's main theme for The Drowning Pool sounds an awful lot like Killing Me Softly.
And NOW I'm going to bed!
Have a good (and nice and cool) day, all!

Here in my loft bedroom. I've found that, even though it's quite warm, I'm comfortable enough if I sleep on top of my covers. I have a fan in the room below blowing up and over me. It's cooling enough to make it bearable.

I wasn't actually thinking of getting a new pillow until you mentioned Norm's making foam pillows. I like the idea of having one made to fit me. I like the pillows I have. One is extra soft for when I have a migraine. I have used it too much lately and now it doesn't seem to work.
Kohl's isn't convenient. I looked on their website and the foam pillows seem to be memory or gel foam. Which one did you buy. I would just like an old fashioned foam pillow which I don't think anyone makes anymore.

These days memory foam is all the rage. My pillow is foam, but I don't know if it's memory foam. It's a cervical pillow, which I need, and provides good support without being too hard. Prior to it I had a cervical egg crate pillow, which I loved. I have an egg crate pillow against my back right now. It's one of the foam samples I brought home. I'd forgotten how comfortable it can be.
Norm's has "old-fashioned" foam.
