~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Continued Mega Health Vibes to our DR JRand66! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DR JohnG, I wish I liked John Yap's recording of Man of La Mancha better since I lvoe the score. The leading man gives a rather one-note performance, earnest, but devoid of the lunacy and humor in the character.
What would Borodin say?
And the word of the day is: YAWP!
Had my second Freshly meal o' the day - barbecue chicken breast on a sweet potato mash and some kind of veggies - it was very good - not my favorite of the six, but still very good. It's so weird to me to eat two meals a day, but at 1100 calories at some point I assume I'll lose weight.
Thanks DR ELMORE and DR FJL and all other Dear Readers....we are moving along.
Last night we went to see THE FOREIGNER....it's a really funny play, and everyone did a great job. I was glad to be back at the theatre and happy to see everyone there!
Have a great day DR George.
Great to hear George's HAIRSPRAY news!
And more continued health vibes to Jrand from us, too!
And the word of the day is: YAWP!
Not too many people know this but it was the original lyrics to the Beatle song. It didn't sound right so they changed it. :-)
Yawp! I need somebody
Yawp! Not just anybody
Yawp! You know I need someone
Yawp!
I am pleased to have these tasks behind me. Mundane though they may be, they were bugging me. I have a lot more stuff to go through and toss or organize, but only I can do that and I'll just do it as I can.
DR ELMORE I forgot to mention that I think your dream means that your Aunt Jean KNOWS how successful you have become.
Wae-Ling had a really good look at a rattling rattlesnake. I think it was her first rattlesnake.
The Monarch Scientist made us turn back and she gave the seeds to the rangers so they could plant them. No way was she going past that snake.
I know the sight of them well, but I've never actually been to a United Dairy Farmers!
I spent 3 hours with Mom this afternoon, which is the amount of time it took to defrost her mini fridge. Had a nice chat with Angie, her night nurse, about how little Mom seems to be eating. Angie said she has an order for 2 nutrient shakes a day and sometimes Angie slips her a third one for some extra calories.
Very impressive storm just moved through! Our first real rain of the summer.
George was terrific in all of the parts he played.
But the show is the important thing, and this show was very entertaining.
DR GEORGE I keep forgetting to ask you how the opening act was going....
Congrats to George on his whirlwind HAIRSPRAY run.
Tom, did you see the opening act? If you did, what did you think?
Not a great day today, on a couple of fronts...
George Romero, 77,
and Martin Landau, 89.
Tom, did you see the opening act? If you did, what did you think?
Yes, they were a jazz combo and they were good.
George was terrific in all of the parts he played.
On the negative side, they had no programs.
The woman told me that they had three left at the start of the day.
George, did you know that there were no programs?
George was terrific in all of the parts he played.
We were sorry we couldn't get away this weekend to see it.
Also, on the negative side, the intermission was almost a half hour long.
(BK would have been furious)
Apparently the cast didn't know what was going on either.
The. I found an entire production of a little night music on you tube . A very satisfying production although the the quality was dreadful and it was broken into about 12 episodes
Do any savvy DRs know where I could get a DVD of a play version that I can show my mom? I am not particularly concerned about the origin if you get my drift
There were a couple hundred people there, at least, and three people got programs.
If I can find my DVD of the PBS version again, I can make a copy of that...unless someone else who has it can copy it first.
;)
On a clearly personal level, those boxes and steps that made up the set, scared the Hell out of me.
Back from a wonderfully wonderful evening - Kay did great, the audience LOVED every second of it. For a first time performance in cabaret Kay gave herself a seven out of ten and I told her that was silly and that it was a nine out of ten and that the one that was missing was all stuff where she got in her head and relied on John to tell her where she was, just to be sure - but later she admitted she knew where she was at all times.
I can only assume that since it was only one weekend, and they had never performed in this theater before, and it was their first show with adults, and it was Lakefair weekend, they really had no idea what to expect! Heidi (the director and owner of the theater company) kept saying that it was all so unexpected and that they couldn't believe that it was so successful. If you want, I can scan the program that I got and e-mail it to you.
Also, George's weight loss is really looking terrific.
Me, too!!!
It is a shame that not all of the cast members were miked, and as a result, some lines were totally lost.
Who was the guy who played Wilbur and who was the guy who played Corny?
On a clearly personal level, those boxes and steps that made up the set, scared the Hell out of me.
Me, too!!!
The evil TV producer climbed to the top in very high heels!!
Those dangerous kind of set pieces take me right out of the play, because I am afraid that someone is going to fall.
Thankfully, someone taught George to project!
I can understand that. We did get to practice on it, though. That set is going to be repainted and reused for the other shows in their summer season.
That kid was the musical director? What is his name?
Are you doing anything else with this group?
