But these traditional Filipino birthday hot dogs on skewers with heart-shaped marshmallows is something I can pass on.

I found like raw kale in salads - I just don't like it cooked.
I'm getting annoyed with everything having sriracha sauce in it. But I confess I don't know if I like it or not because I haven't tried it yet.

A local forecaster has presented a "model" for what "might happen" here in early August. He sees a possibility of a major heat system that could see temperatures in Oakland hit 105 - 110 degrees on August 4th and 5th. EGADS. GADZOOKS! That's around the Bay Area. Inland will be HOTTER!

We normally have temps in the 70s on typical summer days. High 80s is a heat wave here.

I'm hoping it won't happen as I will be in the throes of finalizing my packing preparations and will need to have outside activity. BUT...will stay indoors if it gets THAT hot, that's for sure.

I was 20 minutes late to my haircut and in a total rage. My barber is fantastic, a really good man, and he cheered me up, as did my visit with Joshie. Then I decided to try to avoid some of the construction mess by taking a 10th Avenue bus back uptown. I waited at 57th and 10th for nearly 30 minutes for a goddam No. 11 bus. There is supposed to be one every 12 minutes. This is ridiculous.

Vixmom, can you adjust the font size in your browser to make it easier to read? I have an android tablet and it's an option for me. Hopefully, some solution can be found.

I looked it up on line and there are some who like the color, though they seem to be in the minority. Even those who do not like it say the upside is the ease at finding your car once you have parked it.

The comments that best fit our reaction to it:

"The Austin Yellow Metallic falls somewhere between Power Ranger yellow and 'Ghostbusters' Slimer green."

"That color looks like something I coughed up during the middle of my last cold. Very bilious,"

"We recently fed our 5-month-old daughter pureed green beans ... the end result was the same color"

Different monitors can show the same color differently. To me, the car does look like there's enough green in it. It could also be the shading of the image and just our perceptions of it all.

I got to know it in the late 1980s, as BK suggests was the time when it was becoming a "thing". There was a nice little restaurant near the western end of the Sunset Strip called Cafe L.A. which I discovered and frequented while living in West Hollywood in 1986-1988. I believe the dish I had most often was the linguini pesto. I also had to learn to go easy on it -- pesto can be very rich and filling, so I've learned to be careful and not binge on it.

A kind of vegetarian chile, fairly spicy, with white rice to cool the palate. I think maybe chicken parmesan for tonight, but not sure - certainly it will be something with meat so I get some protein, which is better than antitein.

I have seen photos of it with variations of more yellow vs more green, though I agree with you that it should have more green.

I have no idea why the car color is named Austin yellow.

Ultimately I went to Gelson's and got a small salad from the salad bar - almost no calories and I was already under 1000, so this hit the spot nicely.
